Gilbert Arenas & Laura Govan’s Child Support Fight Laid Bare A judge who agreed to lower Gilbert Arenas’ monthly child support to baby mama Laura Govan found that neither one had fully disclosed exactly how much money they made. LA Family Court Judge Mark A. Juhas, who presided over Arenas’ motion to lower his child support to Govan, found that Govan’s income and expense statements to the court were “not reliable,” and in actuality, she’d made $40,000 from the reality show “The Next Fifteen,” $500 a month from the website “Shop In Real Life,” $9,000 for promoting “Flat Tummy Tea,” and $500 for “showing her face” on social media, according to court docs obtained by BOSSIP. The judge agreed with Arenas to lower his monthly child support from a reported $20,000 a month to $7,198 after he said his $719,000 a month income went down to zero when he lost his NBA contract. The judge also decided not to compute Arenas’ income from real estate sales and rentals. However, the judge also ruled not to make the new child support amount retroactive to when Arenas filed for the modification in Oct. 2016, deciding that Arenas’ financial docs for the court “were not full and complete, nor fully accurate.” “It is the respondent’s burden to demonstrate a change in circumstances and completely show what his actual income is,” the judge’s ruling read.“Respondent cannot fail to disclose his income and receive full retroactivity.” Govan and Arenas’ child support battle was laid bare in court docs that were submitted as part of Arenas’ defamation suit against the mother of his four kids. Govan appeared in court Sept. 13 for a hearing on exactly how much money she has in order to pay a $110,000 judgment to Arenas after he won a case that accused her of leaking false info to a blog alleging that Arenas infected her with STDs. Govan also has to pay to send the kids to private school, a cost that Arenas had previously paid, according to court docs. The judge said it was “inappropriate” for Arenas to keep paying the kids tuition on his own, and Govan had a responsibility to support their kids outside of child support, like getting a job. We reached out to attorneys for both Arenas and Govan for comment.
As we reported earlier this week, several sources are claiming that Johnny Depp is flat broke , as a result of years of extravagant spending on incredibly posh luxury items. Some of his financial woes are the result of his wildly expensive divorce from Amber Heard , which has cost the actor than $7 million in settlement cash, to say nothing of what he was forced to fork over in terms of assets and legal fees. All told, the ill-fated marriage probably plundered Captain Jack’s treasure chest for upwards of 10 mill, but that’s chump change to a screen icon with a wildly lucrative Disney franchise, right? Well – not if the stories about Depp’s spending are true, and as unbelievable as they sound, they come from a reliable source. Depp recently tried to sue his financial management firm, TMG, for mishandling his funds. TMG countersued, and the court documents published by several media outlets paint a picture of a man who loves the high life and spends without a thought for his own future. The spending habit that’s grabbed the most headlines is Depp’s tendency to spend upwards of $30,000 a month on wine. At $360,000 a year, that’s certainly a lot of high-end vino, but by itself the costly vintages wouldn’t put too much of a dent in Depp’s bank account. After all, this is a guy who’s pulled in $25 million a picture for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, plus back-end percentages on everything from box office to merchandising. By some estimates the franchise has earned him upwards of half a billion dollars. The actor has even said that he was “overpaid” for this films, confessing that he made “stupid money” and did it solely to ensure a comfortable future for his kids. Unfortunately, if TMG’s claims are to be believed, there may not be much for left over for Lily-Rose and Jack Depp. The company alleges “extravagant and extreme” spending on Depp’s part that left in the position of being forced to pay his income taxes late several years in a row. And just what in the hell did he blow all that cash on? Well, in addition to those crates of ’47 Bordeaux, Depp dropped an unknown quantity of cash on the ultimate celebrity status symbol: a private island. And, of course, no Bahamian paradise would be complete with a massive yacht: Depp’s 150-footer reportedly cost $18 million. It seems the actor’s passion for transportation isn’t limited to the seas, as he’s spent untold millions on a collection of about 45 classic cars, and drops a reported $200,000 a month on his Gulfstream GV private jet. (Depp refuses to fly commercial, which should come as no surprise at this point.) But as much as he likes to move around, Depp also appears to enjoy time at home – or should we say homes ? TMG claims he recently spent $75 million to “acquire, improve, and furnish 14 residences” around the world. So yeah, it’s not hard to see why Depp might be dragging his feet on forking over Heard’s divorce cash – as well as looking for someone to blame for his financial situation.
Tyga Becomes Physically Sick Talking About Buying Kylie Gifts In Court Tyga is in court so much for unpaid bills and unsettled debts that it’s damn near a part-time job for him at this point. But he was thrown for such a loop by the line of questioning at his latest case that he was suddenly pushed into a medical emergency. Tyga was facing off against celeb jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills this time around, in a hearing meant to determine if he even had close to enough cash to cover the $200k judgment he owes for a diamond chain and an expensive watch that he — of course — failed to pay for. According to TMS, Tyga was initially cooperative, telling Jason’s details of his income and assets. But as soon as lawyers began pressing Tyga about various lavish gifts he’s allegedly given Kylie , based on what the couple shows on social media…suddenly Tyga started feeling under the weather. Tyga told lawyers he was starting to feel extremely ill, was losing his memory and becoming confused, to the point that he ultimately let the lawyer know there was no way he could continue. Convenient timing, huh? The questions leave Tyga between a rock and a hard place…if he admits that he drops all his rent money on presents for his teen queen Kylie…then he’ll definitely need to pay up. It’s only been two months since Lindsay Lohan and Egor Tarababasov broke up , but it looks like she’s already found herself a new dude who also has a name straight out of The Big Book of European Stereotypes . Adrienne Bailon Sued For $200,000 Adrienne Bailon’s pockets might be getting lighter soon. Her management company, whom she signed with long before ever getting on The Real , alleges that Adrienne ducked out on $200k in fees and reimbursements equaling 20% of her daytime TV checks . Via TMZ : Adrienne Bailon’s playing a mean game of hide-and-seek with her management company and the $200k it’s owed … at least according to the ex-managers who are suing her. Go2Man Management says “The Real” co-host has gone AWOL and refuses to pay fees and reimbursements she owes to the tune of at least $200k. According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, G2M struck a 5-year deal in 2011 to rep Adrienne … and she agreed to pay them 20% of her income. She joined “The Real” in 2013, but Go2Man says AB started going radio silent in early 2015. The company says it fired off a letter about the dough she owes, but she never paid. There have been plenty of Kate Gosselin child abuse allegations over the years. Sources ranging from tabloid reporters to members of Kate’s inner circle have accused the reality star of beating and neglecting her children. Perhaps most scandalously, Kate was investigated by child services for mistreating her 10-year-old son, Collin, over a period of years. The investigators looked into this, but did not find sufficient evidence of abuse to remove Collin or any of Kate’s children from her home, even temporarily. Apparently that was not the first time that concerned parties tried to determine if Kate was an unfit mother, though. Court documents from 2010, which leaked today, show that Kate’s ex, Jon Gosselin, desperately tried to convince a judge that Kate should not be permitted to raise children. The documents detail an incident that occurred on Octover 19, 2010, in which Jon claims that he found physical evidence of abuse, including a “large red welt” on daughter Leah’s backside that he discovered while bathing her. “[Leah] later explained that it was from Mother after Leah bit Hannah,” the document explains.
