Kelly Clarkson Joins The Voice, Sticks It to American Idol

So much for all that Idol chatter. A few days after rumors surfaced that Kelly Clarkson would be a judge on the revamped version of American Idol, the original winner of has come out and stunned the television universe: She will, indeed, be a judge on an upcoming season of a beloved, long-time running singing competition. But it will not be the show that made her famous. It will be The Voice. Clarkson made the unexpected announcement on Thursday afternoon alongside Blake Shelton on his Facebook page as part of a live video. The two artists will joined on season 14 by fellow longtime coach Adam Levine, while a fourth coach will be confirmed at a later date. “I’m so excited to join The Voice at NBC,” Clarkson said in a statement. She added: “We’ve gone back and forth about a role as a coach for years, but the timing hasn’t been right until now. “I have always loved appearing on the show as an adviser or performer and established an amazing relationship with the network during my Christmas special. “I can’t wait to turn my chair and see the faces of up-and-coming artists and provide them with the help and support they’ve needed to break into the industry.” Proving she’s ready for the typical weekly trash talk among panelists, Clarkson concluded as follows: “Watch out Shelton, I’m comin’ to win!” There’s also been talk, meanwhile, that Jennifer Hudson will come on board The Voice Season 13 as a judge. Said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment, in a statement of his own: “Kelly has been a part of The Voice family for many years as an adviser and performer. We are thrilled she has chosen to join us as a coach to mentor the next generation through our unique vocal boot camp. “Every time Kelly Clarkson sings you are reminded what an incredible voice really is. “We are looking forward to the sound of Kelly Clarkson on The Voice.” It was announced on Tuesday that ABC has agreed on a deal to revive American Idol. It will most likely air on Sunday nights next spring, with Ryan Seacrest most likely returning as host. “American Idol on ABC…that has a nice ring to it,” Disney co-chairman Ben Sherwood said about this move, adding: “Idol is an entertainment icon, and now it will air where it belongs, in ABC’s lineup of addictive fan favorites alongside Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor. America, get ready for the return of a bigger, bolder and better-than-ever Idol. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. 23 Celebrity Weddings That We Never Saw Coming

Not all celebrity couples make like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. In other words, some got married very much on the Down Low. So low down, in fact, that we didn't even know they were planning on getting hitched until the big day had already come and gone! Some of these surprise celebrity marriages may even last, too, although in some cases, more forethought may have been prudent … 1. JENNIFER ANISTON AND JUSTIN THEROUX Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux told guests in August 2015 that they were attending a birthday party at their home. But then they went ahead and got hitched! 2. IAN SOMERHALDER AND NIKKI REED Four months after announcing their engagement, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed quietly exchanged vows in Santa Monica … without anyone outside their inner circle knowing about it until it had already gone down! 3. KERRY WASHINGTON AND NNAMI ASOMUGHA Kerry Washington and Nnami Asomugha got married in Idaho… and that’s still all we know. Few stars are as guarded with their personal information as the Scandal beauty. 6. Kendall and Kylie Jenner Debut New Book Cover

You may have forgotten about this — lucky you! — but in 2014, Kendall and Kylie Jenner released a sci-fi novel. No, really, they did. The book was given the catchy little title of Rebels: City of Indra, The Story of Lex and Livia. It was a dystopian YA story, and Kendall and Kylie totally wrote pretty much the whole thing themselves. Totally . But it’s been over two years now since the book was released, and people are clamoring for more (or whatever). We heard about the release of a sequel back in May, but now we have more details. And we also have a pretty cool cover: The book is called Time of The Twins, obviously, and it will be released on November 15th. That’s right — just one month from tomorrow, you could have this treasured tome in your very hands. The book was written with the help of two ghostwriters: one who also worked on Rebels, City of Indra, and one who is new to the series. Not that any of that matters, because they’re just ghostwriters. Check out those names on the cover, you’ll see who the real creative masterminds are here. Seriously though, do Kendall and Kylie really think they’re fooling anyone ? Do they think anyone actually believes that they wrote even a sentence in either of these books? For a few years now, dystopian teen novels have been super popular, thanks to bestsellers like The Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Divergent, etc. These books are just Kendall and Kylie’s attempt to cash in on that. It’s fine, we congratulate them on their hustle, but let’s just call it like it is here. Still though, the littlest Kardashians have been trying their best to portray themselves as authors. In a statement that accompanied the original news of their new book, Kendall said “We love this world and these characters. It’s been so fun to tell their story and we are excited to share it with our fans.” Sure, girls. Sure.

Kelly Clarkson: I’m STILL Not Gay! (Yet?)

Kelly Clarkson: still not gay … or is her husband just a beard?  Clarkson took her LGBeef-tea to a Good Housekeeping luncheon for safe-keeping … and what she said just about shocked the shorts off us.  (Because she said she’s not gay – that’s the shocking part.)  In the interview, Kelly said, “I’m from a small town in the south.”  Everyone thought I was gay ’cause I wasn’t married with kids already!” she laughed.  “And I was like, ‘That’s kind of insulting to the gay community.”  “But especially in this day and age,” she continued, “I had a very high bar.”  We’re not exactly sure what she means about that bar – unless it’s an allusion to a sex toy, perhaps, but the south wasn’t the only one who thought Kells was pitching for her own team .  She continued by talking about her husband and her family, and how great things have been, and we just think, you know, if she’s gay, she’s gay. That bar’s been set in a pretty comfortable place, and whether she is or isn’t, she shouldn’t be ashamed one way or the other.  “I think the biggest thing is just getting married later in life,” she explained.  “You change so much in your twenties,” she continued. “I mean [my husband] got married at 21 in his first marriage, and they both went ‘What?!’ ” “It can be very hard to grow in the same way,” she said.  “Your twenties are all about growth and giant [mistakes].”  “I have an awesome life,” she insisted, “and I can hold this down on my own.”  “I learned that from my mother. She depended a lot, financially, on a man.”  “I don’t depend on [my husband], and he doesn’t depend on me. We made our own way in our own right, and I think that’s what really helps, too.”  You know what also helps, Kelly? Being true to yourself. So, you know, as long as you’re doing that, you’ve got things on lockdown.  And hey – if you ever do decide to come on out of that closet, you definitely have some pretty excellent door prizes – your adorable children.   Get it, girl: whatever – or whoever – it is!

KUWTK Return Promo: Who Might Get Back Together?

Here's the bad news: Keeping Up with the Kardashians is on hiatus. Yes, you can always watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians online . But new episodes won't actually air on E! until Sunday, October 23 at 9/8c. So, what's the good news? The network has supplied us with the following promo for these fall installments… and it looks like A LOT of totally unscripted craziness is about to go down! For example, we get a look below at Kim Kardashian on the set of Fergie's new music video, along with the singer herself and Chrissy Teigen. There's also a glimpse at Kendall Jenner modeling… with many layers of clothing on. Kim seems to take issue with Kendall's attitude, however, saying at one point: “She doesn't want to be famous, but fame runs her business.” That's sort of true. Jenner has tried to shy away from the spotlight and distance herself from her family, which is admirable. But Kim knows all about fame and business and how the former impacts the latter. Will her sister listen to her advice? Or will Kendall continue to insist on doing it her way? Elsewhere, Khloe weighs in on Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick's relationship, telling her sisters at one point: “You guys know they're totally getting back together one day.” Do you agree with this assessment? It would maybe be best for their three kids, right? Check out the trailer below, get a look at the action to come and ask yourself: What will you do on Sunday nights over the next few months with this annoying family in your living room?!?
