Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise are back to back with it on today’s episode of Global Grind’s The Rewind . You already know how we do each and every week. The Rewind will break down some of the things you could have (and probably shouldn’t have) missed in the last week. We tell you what’s hot, what’s not and then give it a rating of 1-10. This week, Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise are talking about Teyana Taylor’s new track “Gonna Love Me (Remix)” which features Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan. Anyone who thinks this is an unlikely match up may want to familiarize themselves with the fact that Teyana also collaborated with Wu-Tang Clan last week to release a new Wu Tang inspired lipstick line with Milk Cosmetics. It’s a literal match made in Shaolin heaven but is “Gonna Love Me (Remix)” a smash or is it trash? “Gonna Love Me” originally appeared on Teyana Taylor’s Keep The Same Energy album which came out over the summer and was produced by Kanye West. Landon and Franchise have opposing views on the track. They both like it but one likes it a LOT more than another. You’ll have to tune in to The Rewind to figure out who wasn’t all that enthused by the new remix. This week we also discuss Tyler Perry’s new film, “Nobody’s Fool” which hit theaters on November 2nd. The movie is about a woman who is released from prison and reunites with her sister. It stars Tika Sumpter, Tiffany Haddish, Missi Pyle and Courtney Henggeler. Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise weighed in on the film and gave it a rating. The movie, which was Tyler Perry’s first R rated comedy, did $14 million worldwide with a $19 million budget. That’s not a lot but was it worth more? Franchise wasn’t a fan of the movie at all. He absolutely hated everything about it. Chandler / Hip-Hop Wired A few weeks after dropping a crazy hot collaboration on the remix for “Gonna Love Me,” Teyana Taylor and the Wu-Tang Clan are once again linking up for a brand new business venture. According to Billboard the G.O.O.D. Music artist is slated to be the face of Wu-Tang Clan’s upcoming makeup line. Yes, you read that right. From the rugged lands of Shaolin will come a new limited edition lipstick collection courtesy of Milk Makeup and the Staten Island killer bees. Of course the first question on everyone’s mind is “How?” Well, the RZA has a simple explanation. “I have a great relationship with Milk’s founder, Rassi, and as New Yorkers, we’ve frequented some of the same circles. We spoke about fashion and the cosmetic world and I revealed that [Talani], my wife, has a cool perspective about makeup [because] in her youth, she was in the modeling circles,” said Wu-Tang’s RZA to Billboard. “She is a fan of Milk Makeup’s products and when [Rassi and I] talked about forming a collaboration that reflected our NYC sensibility and philosophy, makeup became the unique and unpredictable choice. The Milk Makeup collaboration was spearheaded by my wife.” Sounds about right. Naturally, the eight upcoming longwear lipsticks will bear the kind of labels that you’d expect from a Wu-Tang inspired collection. Each will be named after the I Ching Trigrams: Sacred, Fire, Chi, Flow, Frequency, Source, Cypher, and Ruckus. All lipsticks will come in different shades of pink and red and will be featured in high shine, nourishing matte and dimensional glitter. Known for having completely vegan products, Milk is taking their collaboration with the Wu to the next level and including some Chinese-inspired ingredients such as sacred lotus water, cherry blossom, ginseng, bamboo shoots, and Chinese red dates that will help protect, hydrate, and soothe the lips upon application. Adding to the lipstick’s mystique will be the cases it will come in as they’ll be encased in solid black bullets, which is a stark contrast to Milk’s typical white, gray, and clear packaging. When you open up the bullet, a gold dragon wraps around the stick. The outer packaging is also solid black, and features the Wu-Tang “W,” as well as a new exclusive symbol that blends Milk’s logo with the Chinese symbol for beauty. As a last-minute replacement musical act for SNL ‘s 44th season opener, West turned in a performance many folks are criticizing while also rocking a MAGA hat and delivering a rant supporting President Donald Trump. New York Post reports : West, wearing a red “Make American Great Again” hat and the show’s cast standing behind him, launched into the screed off camera, but it was caught on video by comedian Chris Rock. “I wanna cry right now, black man in America, supposed to keep what you’re feeling inside right now,” he sang as he paced the stage. He continued: “The blacks want always Democrats you know it’s like the plan they did, to take the fathers out the home and put them on welfare. Does anybody know about that? That’s a Democratic plan.” Then he turned to his support of Trump. “There’s so many times I talk to like a white person about this and they say, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.” West performed a bizarre “I Love It” set with Lil Pump, and “We Got Love” with Teyana Taylor before attempting to rock “Ghost Town” when SNL producers cut his set short. Cole has just revealed the rescheduled date for the inaugural Dreamville Festival, which will now take place on Saturday, April 6 at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dreamville Festival was originally scheduled to take place on September 15, but it was forced to be cancelled due to public safety concerns surrounding Hurricane Florence. According to the man incharge, 30,000 fans were expected at the inaugural festival. In response to the hurricane and the event’s cancellation, Cole tweeted out, “Mannn. Due to this Hurricane heading to NC, we have to cancel Dreamville Festival. We’re working to get another date, but right now safety is most important. I appreciate everybody that was headed to rock with us. 30,000 + were expected.” Attendees of the rescheduled event will still get to see a headlining performance from J. Cole to close out the event, although details surrounding the new music lineup will be announced at a later date. The original lineup featured SZA, Big Sean, Young Thug, Nelly, Rich The Kid, Teyana Taylor, Bas, Rapsody, Ari Lennox, and more. Dreamville Festival/Giant Noise “We battled with the idea of moving forward with the festival at this time or formally cancelling the event. But after receiving unwavering support from the fans and the community, we are excited to announce Dreamville Festival will now take place on April 6, 2019,” said Ibrahim “IB” Hamad, President of Dreamville Records and J. Cole’s manager. “We are proud to say that Dreamville this spring will also serve as a benefit to hurricane victims in the Carolinas. We hope that fans in North Carolina and across the US will not only join in celebrating the very first Dreamville Festival, but also the resilience of this amazing community.” General Admission and VIP ticket packages are on sale now at www.dreamvillefest.com . Those who already purchased tickets to the event before its cancellation will have the option to keep their existing tickets, which also will be valid for the festival’s new date in April, or request a full refund.

This on the heels of him announcing his 2nd solo album to come out titled “Yandhi.” Earlier this summer Kanye dropped “I Hate being Bi-Polar it’s Awesome.” He released this shortly after his TMZ encounter and wearing his MAGA hat on social media. This summer Kanye produced Teyana Taylor, Nas, and Pusha T’s album. He’s apparently not done. He’s working with Chance the Rapper to release a joint album called “Good Ass Job.” No release date on their album but both have taken to social media to promote the new album.
