Well, she’s pretty excited. “Just heard my duet ‘Hello, Hello’ with Elton [John] is up for nomination at the Oscars! ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’ is such a beautiful film,” she wrote on Twitter. “I’m so happy!!” On Monday, it was announced that the Gaga/Elton duet is one of the 39 tracks vying for a nomination. will.i.am’s “Rio” track, “Hot Wings,” Mary J. Blige’s “The Living Proof” from “The Help,” and Zooey Deschanel’s “Winnie the Pooh” track, “So Long,” along with multiple tracks from “The Muppets” are also in the running. The final nominations will be announced January 24, and the awards show is slated to take place February 26 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. Gaga is celebrating her latest achievement in Japan , where she will spend the holidays. “Well, I’ll be in Japan right up until Christmas Day,” she recently told MTV News. “So I’ll be eating with all my Japanese Little Monsters. I like shabu shabu [a type of Japanese hotpot].” After touching down, Mother Monster has been keeping her fans up-to-date on what she’s been up to on Twitter. “Sipping tea in Japan with Haus. Feeling so grateful,” she wrote. “We sold about 1 million albums a month worldwide since the release of BORN THIS WAY.” The busy holiday season caps off an even busier year for Lady Gaga, who happened to be MTV News’ Top Newsmaker of 2011 . Hey BELIEBERS! I’m April and I’m an 18 year old Belieber from Austin, Texas. On November 17, 2011 I flew to New York City to attend Pencils Of Promise’s First Gala. My heart was pounding when we landed but it stopped when hotel management told me they had no records of my meet & greet wristband being dropped off. After arguing with the staff and calling multiple POP team members, it was determined that it was gone. Luckily the POP team had a back up plan for me! They allowed me to register and pick up a new wristband at the door! At 6:00pm all of the meet & greeters met outside a secret location. After waiting in the freezing cold for an hour, they opened the door and one by one allowed each of us to pass when our name was highlighted and our wristband was checked. I was pulled off to the side because I still didn’t have my wristband, but it came eventually. I walked in by myself not knowing anyone and everytime I turned a corner, a new security gaurd was there who pointed me in the right direction and checked for my wristband. I walked into the meet & greet room after checking my coat and awkwardly stood to the side. I saw that another girl was by herself so I made my way over. She complimented my dress and from there we were best friends! She said, “I really don’t want to pass out! I’m gonna cry!” and I said “My friends told me I’d be in trouble if I blew it! They don’t want me to pass out either!” LOL. Adam Braun and Sophia Bush walked around the room for a while and after everyone was in they closed the doors. There was a big black screen that you could kinda see through that had a door behind it. Me and my new friend Aisling squeezed each other’s hand as we waited for THE BIEBS to come in the room! Scooter, Kenny and Justin walked out! Sophia Bush then got in front of everyone and said “LADIES. The man is in the room. NO SCREAMING! Now woman to women, you need to keep your cool. Don’t freak him out. On the count of 3 SCREAM! But no screaming after that!” She counted to 3 and we all screamed. Then Allison Kaye did the same and we screamed again. Then it happened. JUSTIN DREW BIEBER walked into the roped off area in front of the POP logo screen. I don’t remember breathing after that point but I made it through completely normal so I guess I was breathing. Everyone was put into groups for the pics. Me and Aisling got our chance to go up and I had my sharpie ready! I walked right up to him and asked him to sign my phone. He tried for a second and then said, “It’s not working!?” and I said, “Keep trying, it will work!” At the same time Sophia and Adam made a wall around justin, me and aisling. “You arent suppose to do this. No more autographs Justin we don’t have time!” I think Sophia said that. Then in seconds he had his arm aournd me and I had mine around him. A couple pics were snapped and apparently a video that POP used in their recap of the night. Then I started to walk away because other people still needed to go and I didn’t want to be a BIEBER HOG. Haha. But he gently grabbed my arm a little below my shoulder, looked me in the eye, smiled and gently squeezed my arm three times. I will remeber it forever. (haha I’m such a FANGIRL!). Then we walked across the street to the Gala location and cocktail hour began. There was a choir and silent auction. Durring this time, Shaq, Usher and Jaden Smith showed up! Shaq took pictures with us but Usher & Jaden’s bodyguard told me they weren’t allowed to take pictures. Everyone took their seat and Justin, Pattie, Diane & Bruce (grandparents) and his great grandmother Estelle walked in and were seated. Sophia talked for a while and some video clips were shown. There was a live auction that Justin had to jump into of course and Give Back Brands talked for a while. Then Adam talked and introduced Agency Net, Scooter & Justin who all gave inspirational speeches. I only made eye contact with Justin once when he first walked in though. After dinner I managed to catch Pattie for a few seconds and she took a picture with me. I told her “YOU RAISED AN AMAZING SON!” and she said “Awe thank you!” She is such a sweet person! When the night was over they Bieber crew exited to avoid being mobbed by all of the beliebers in the room and then I left as well. Over a million dollars was raised for Pencils Of Promise! The night was absolutely amazing and one I will never forget. Justin is the sweetest guy I’ve ever met and he truely does care about his fans. You can see it in his eyes when he talks to us or takes pictures or even just waves. I hope my Bieber Experience will inspire other beliebers to NEVER SAY NEVER because you can be one of the lucky ones that gets to meet Justin. December 11th was hands down the best day of my life. At first, I went to the DC Buyout where I met Scooter Braun. He was so nice and took pictures with everyone! After, I was running around DC in the freezing cold. We were looking for a bus to take us to the Georgetown Four Seasons (where Justin was staying) but it was on the other side of town. Then, we got a call saying Justin was on his way to the National Building Museum where he was performing for Christmas in Washington . We took a cab to the building and walked around for hours. At 5, we realized Justin had already went inside the building and we had missed him. We decided to wait until he came back out because he has to leave sometime, right? We talked to so many secret service agents and asked what time the special was over and none of them knew. They kept saying, “When you see all these cops and flashing lights disappear, the President is gone and people can start leaving.” And that’s what we were waiting for. All at the same time, all the helicopters, police cars, motorcycles, and everything else for the President disappeared and that meant we could get closer to the gate! At 7:45, I tweeted on my personal account something about hopefully meeting Justin and 10 minutes later, I did! First, Scrappy came out and he took a couple pictures with fans, but right when I was going to take a picture, Alfredo comes out with Kenny and Justin and the whole crew! Scooter called Justin over and he started taking pictures with fans. There was about 10 girls there and they were sort of crowding around him . I saw Alfredo off to the side, putting something inside the trunk of their car and I had a really good feeling that I’d get my picture with Justin so I went for it and asked Alfredo for a picture. He said “Yes” and we got super close and took a picture. After, he said “Thanks for everything you guys do!” and ran into the car. Justin was being swarmed and I somehow squeezed my way into the crowd so I was in front of him. He moves over and says, “Wait, let me get a picture with her.” His arm was halfway around my shoulder but I was confused so I was like “Wait, me?” and he says yes and we took a picture. Then Justin was getting ready to walk away and I asked for a hug and he said sure and we hugged. I somehow found myself in front of Pattie where I said hi and she smiled. I was going to ask for a picture but they were running late and I didn’t want them to miss their plane so I backed off. My mom said I look really shocked in all my pictures but I seriously don’t care because it was a great day and Justin was so sweet. I’m Ellie, I’m 14 years old from Liverpool and I’ve been a Belieber since the first time I saw Justin in 2009. Never in a million years did I think I’d become so obsessed, but I did! My love for him just grew and grew. First on the 5th of June 2010, Justin followed me on Twitter , at the time, it was the best moment of my entire life! Then on the 13th of November 2010, I bought tickets for the My World Tour, which was just indescribable! 10th of March, Justin stayed in the Beatles hotel in Liverpool and of course everyone found out and caused a riot outside. While I was outside, I met Dan Kanter, Ryan Good, saw Kenny, Alison and Alfredo. Later in the night, Justin came on his balcony and that was the first moment I’d ever seen him in real life. Everything around me just froze, it was like on big dream. Then the next day, 11th of March 2011 I went to the My World Tour, which was one of the most unreal nights of my entire LIFE, we was so close to the stage and everything was just perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing about it. Nothing will ever beat that feeling! When I got home from the concert, I just had to get tickets for another one, so I did! I got tickets for the 21st of March which was in Manchester which was again one of the best experiences of my life!! Once that night had ended, I had nothing to look forward to, but I never stopped believing that i’d meet Justin. Then on the 20th July 2011 Justin Dm’ed me!!! My heart dropped when I opened the message and I just burst into tears. After that day I still believed I would meet him, I always have. Then a competition called, ‘Come Round’ happened, we had to have a Justin Party and take a picture and the picture with the most ‘likes’ on Facebook in a week won 10 meet and greets, it was the most stressful, sleepless week of my life. But of course it was worth it and I would do it over and over and over again because WE WON!!! With over 8,800 likes on our photo ! The day came, we traveled six hours to London and was given golden wristbands which meant we go into Justin’s Christmas light switch on in Westfield in the VIP area and after the concert we’d go backstage and meet him! Already it was the best day of my life, just the whole experience was just indescribable! Then Justin came on stage, the moment we seen him, we DIED. He looked unreal and sang perfectly! The concert was amazing and we met Scrappy and saw Alfredo and Dan! Then the time came were we was getting escorted backstage, I was shaking, it felt so weird, I didn’t believe it was all happening! I’ve never been so happy in all of my life, then we got brought into the room with Justin the moment I seen him, I just froze, I didn’t want to cry in front of him so I held myself together. He was standing waiting for us with the biggest smile on his face, as soon as we went over to him we got a photo! Then I turned around and looked at Justin and the only words that came out was, “I love you Justin” and then thats were the crying started, he looked right into my eyes and said “I love you too, thank you”. He told us all he loved us and said thank you and bye to us. My heart was in my mouth I could not believe it! I can’t even begin to describe how I felt, so so so so so happy, that’s all I can say. Then that same week I got a call off my friend telling me we’d won another competition which was to go to Justin’s ITV special, This is Justin Bieber. OMG I couldn’t believe my luck, things like this never happened to me! Then on the 13th of November me and my friend Faye went to London again. We got to the ITV studios early and just by luck got brought in through the back into Justins Pre-recording/Soundcheck. I’m still not over it. IT WAS UNREAL. Later on we went back for the actual show, Justin sang beautifully and he was so funny and nice to us all. It was so crazy, it was it was normal to be around him because of how normal he was treating us. He then grabbed my hand 7 TIMES!! I cant even, it was just actually AMAZING. Then to top it all off, on the way out of the Studios, we noticed Scrappy standing by the stage, we shouted and waved at him and he called us over, as we was walking over to him, my legs were like jelly I did not know what was going on. When we got over to him he said, “You was the first person to notice me so…” And then he went and pulled JUSTIN’S GLOVE that he had just worn for 3 hours out of his pocket and gave it to us.
