Exclusive: Lil Wayne Tapes Final Day Of Freedom After Court Fire

‘There’s been a fire in the court. I have one more day of freedom,’ he says in the clip. By Shaheem Reid and Rahman Dukes Lil Wayne Photo: MTV News Nino Brown: The Road To Rikers, Part 6 Weezy has at least one more day of freedom. Lil Wayne was due to be sentenced to one year in prison on Tuesday (March 2), but the Cash Money MC was afforded another day of freedom as the Manhattan court building had to be evacuated when a small blaze broke out in the boiler room. But Wayne didn’t spend his day seeing the sights or jogging around Central Park — he went back to work. DJ Scoob Doo, who has been traveling with Weezy, posted a tweet asking his followers to figure what studio the duo would be stopping at as well as which stage they would be hitting. Wayne’s “Mr. Carter” cohort, Jay-Z, just so happens to be playing the city’s biggest stage, Madison Square Garden — Hov’s Blueprint 3 tour touched down in the Big Apple on Tuesday, along with roster acts Young Jeezy and Trey Songz. We’ll see what goes down — but we can give you a glimpse into how Wayne’s day started. In another clip sent exclusively to MTV News by Weezy and his trusted videographer, we see Wayne as he learns of his sentencing delay. The clip begins with Wayne stepping off a private jet and walking into a waiting van. Later Weezy leaves his hotel, riding toward Manhattan — while in the Lincoln Tunnel, Weezy’s road manager E.I. informs him there’s been a fire at the court building. “There’s been a fire in the court. I have one more day of freedom. For now, y’all keep it real, ’cause I will,” Wayne said. “I’m ready. I’m all smiles,” he continued, pointing to his teeth. “They can’t break my strength. They can only lock me up physically. They can’t lock up my mind. They can’t lock up my heart. They can only take my time because the law alowws them to. Time is precious, but love is life. So therefore in the end my love will prevail.” Updates are available on DJ Scoob Doo’s Web site . O.J. Simpson Suit Bound For Smithsonian

Most times when you talk about suits and O.J. Simpson, they’re of the legal variety. People suing the knife-wielding maniac for wrongful death and whatnot. This time, though, the topic is a suit the notorious murderer wore when he was somehow acquitted of murder by a jury jam-packed with idiots back in ’95. Those fine threads may be headed to the Smithsonian Institution. After a court hearing Monday, which followed years of squabbling, lawyers for O.J. Simpson and Fred Goldman both agreed to donate the ” acquittal suit .” Here’s the historic judicial system failure in question … The judge called O.J. from prison, where he’s serving a 15-year term for armed robbery and kidnapping, to get his approval. Simpson’s lawyer said he agreed. Provided no one makes money off it, that is. David Cook, Goldman’s lawyer, says, “The donation to the Smithsonian of the acquittal suit puts front and center the shock to America when justice escaped the Los Angeles courthouse. The memory of Ron Goldman shall be on permanent display.” “If the suit is the emblematic of justice gone berserk, justice is served.” Goldman has been relentlessly trying to cash in on everything Simpson-related since winning a $30-million-plus civil judgment for O.J. killing his son. No word if the Smithsonian will accept the thing, or if Christie Prody has changed her name and signed up for a witness protection program yet.

Robert Pattinson Takes Over NYC

New York might be the city that never sleeps, but it sure knows how to scream when Robert Pattinson is in town. The actor stopped by Today yesterday for an interview with Matt Lauer and will sit down with Jon Stewart tonight on The Daily Show . In between, the Twilight Saga star – in town to promote Remember Me – stopped and signed autographs for an adoring public. He couldn’t even wait to do so, sprinting to meet them. Run, Robert, run! In the Lauer interview, posted below, Pattinson comes across as grounded and good-humored. He makes a good point about his controversial Details magazine interview , saying critics get on you if you’re too boring… and also give you a hard time when you say something scandalous. It’s impossible to win. Rob also admits that he wouldn’t give interviews if it wasn’t part of his job, seeming like someone that truly loves being an actor, yet is not obsessed with being a celebrity. How refreshing! Check it out now: Robert on Today

Suicide-Prevention Expert Talks Possible Andrew Koenig Warning Signs

‘Growing Pains’ actor’s actions before his death appear to point to suicide. By Gil Kaufman Andrew Koenig Photo: IMDB Police have not yet confirmed what caused the death of “Growing Pains” actor Andrew Koenig , whose body was found in a Vancouver park on Thursday. But according to a suicide-prevention expert, the 41-year-old actor — who Vancouver police classified as being “despondent” upon his disappearance and who reportedly suffered from depression — exhibited some of the signs of someone who might be thinking about harming themselves. “I understand that Andrew had a history of depression, and if you combine some of the other signs [such as clearing out his Los Angeles apartment ], there is cause for concern,” said Dr. John Draper, director of the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. Draper does not have firsthand knowledge of the Koenig case, but he said anyone who is concerned that someone close to them might be considering suicide should make every effort to reach out to that person and make sure they have the help they need. “Instead of saying, ‘I’m sad’ or ‘I’m having a bad day,’ someone who is depressed might say, ‘I’m having a bad life’ or ‘Everything is bad,’ ” he said. “When you hear those kinds of statements, it tells you this person might be depressed.” He said other signs include irritability and anger, low energy and fatigue or sleeplessness, difficulty concentrating or talking about suicidal thoughts. “People who are suicidal will tell you, ‘I’d be better off dead,’ and you need to act on that sign,” he said. “You need to get that individual some help or contact a professional. If you hear or notice that in some way they are making plans — getting lethal means, gathering pills, buying a gun or you find a rope — or something suggests that they’re doing something differently to create a situation that could put them in danger, you should tell them you’re worried about them and offer help.” Draper said giving away possessions or things that are of value to the individual or moving to another city unexpectedly might also be signs. “They could be moving to another city to seek an opportunity, which could be a good sign that they want to change their lives and plan for the future,” he said. “But you have to question: Why are they moving? What will happen there that won’t happen at the other location? What are their supports there? If they have a history of depression, it’s important to know they’re going to something instead of running away.” He said moving to another city — even one with fond memories, which Vancouver reportedly had for Koenig — might also lead to further isolation for someone who has a history of depression. Koenig’s parents held an emotional news conference Thursday to talk about their son and provide a warning about suicide. “My son took his own life,” Koenig’s father, “Star Trek” icon Walter Koenig, said between long pauses. “The only thing I want to say is — we’ve already said what a good guy he was and a good human being, and he was obviously in a lot of pain. … For those families who have members they fear are susceptible to this kind of behavior, don’t ignore it, don’t rationalize it.” In the days following Koenig’s February 14 disappearance, it was revealed that he had suffered from depression and had mailed a letter to his father before vanishing that gave the family cause for concern; the contents of that letter have not yet been revealed. Police found the actor’s body in Vancouver’s Stanley Park but have not yet discussed the manner in which Koenig died. As for what concerned friends and family can do to help someone who might be suicidal, Draper said it’s important not to minimize the concerning behavior and let the person know you care about them and want to help them feel safe. “You can let them know that this is a bad time but that they’ll be able to get through it if they get help,” he said. “It’s important not to abandon them. Let them know how to contact you, and try to get them help, especially if they don’t have a physician or therapist of their own.” Among other warning signs that someone may be suicidal: talking or writing about death, dying or suicide when these actions are out of the ordinary for the person; feeling rage or uncontrolled anger or seeking revenge; acting reckless or engaging in risky activities; feeling trapped; increasing alcohol or drug use; withdrawing from friends, family and society; feeling anxious, agitated or unable to sleep or sleeping all the time; experiencing dramatic mood changes; and seeing no reason for living or having no sense of purpose in life. The Newest Hotspot in NY: Some Dude’s Apartment

Beatrice Inn and the Jane Hotel were closed by prissy neighbours. Downtown stalwarts like Lit and the Box face constant scrutiny from the city. So the newest hangout for celebrities (not to mention strippers and transsexuals) is a random apartment. Mike is from Rumson. He lives in a reasonable-sized studio/loft downtown somewhere. His decor is sparse; the former dance studio is painted battleship gray with a large L-shaped couch around a coffee table, which has a copy of Wine Spectator magazine on top. There are Phish and Wilco posters, abstract paintings and a Yucca plant. His wireless password is Nirvana1. Over the last couple of weeks Mike’s apartment — it has no other title — has hosted rockers like Guns’n’Roses and Sebastian Bach of Skid Row and the soul singer Daniel Merriweather. An after party for the third anniversary of the Box ( where a transsexual threw up on Susan Sarandon ) came complete with boxers, debutantes, strippers and models. Promoters from Avenue, 1OAK and Greenhouse bring their crowds here in a steady stream, for pre and post club debauchery. As many as 150 people have crammed into the space. It happened because Mike has worked in the restaurant industry for nearly a decade. While developing a new nightclub project over the last few months he accumulated some fairly unorthodox nightlife friends — who eventually started hosting impromptu parties at his place. “I get text messages and phonecalls whenever anyone wants to bring crew through,” he explains. You enter the building through a red door — the buzzer is broken so you have to call someone inside to let you in (there are rumors that Mick Jagger fell at this hurdle last week). You walk past a trash can, up some rickety, black-painted stairs and turn left. During the evenings, ashtrays and bottles are filled with cigarette butts and thick smoke wafts through the air. There is no smoking ban here. The neighbors in the six story building are either at the parties or don’t care about noise. Unconstrained by licensing laws, the parties tend to go until sunrise — or until the last of the booze is gone and CIA analysts and starlets are strewn across the floors and couches in unfeasible positions. Over the next two weeks, along with the usual crowds, a high-end New York fashion house will have a party here, and an artist will host a reception for a major exhibition. Mike is mostly happy about the development. But it’s not all harmonious. Mike keeps his expensive whisky and wine collection in an unlockable wooden cabinet. Inside are several $500 bottles of Opus One Cabernet. He estimates that $5000 of whiskey has been sneakily consumed since his apartment turned into an unexpected hotspot — despite the hardest door in New York. He gets particularly upset when guests give it away to mysterious unknown women who sometimes turn up, invited by someone. “I’m like dude she’s probably a hooker, don’t give her a $50 glass of MacAllan.” In the same cabinet is Mike’s pickle collection — he’s been collecting and making pickles for about three years. It has remained mysteriously untouched. “This one,” he said, on a recent afternoon, holding up a jar of green, unripe tomatoes in spiced brine “is my favourite because my mom grew the grape tomatoes herself.” Journalists from the New York Post , NBC , and the New York Times have been through. “But everyone seems to be sitting on it, keeping it to themselves,” said Mike. And we’re not mentioning Mike’s full name, or the location, or running any pictures that might give away either, so as not to ruin perhaps the last refuge for New York debauchery in the era of smoking bans and wealthy neighbors who expect perfect quiet downtown. “No one is here, and this doesn’t exist,” said one regular as he reached into the cabinet for a nip of Glenfiddich 21-year-old whiskey, on that recent afternoon. “There will never be a Tweet sent from this apartment.”

Stacy Keibler in Leggings of the Day

I think it’s almost funny that wearing leggings are enough reason to get me to post on the site, even though every fucking girl and her mother and maybe even her grandmother are rockin’ leggings these days, like shit isn’t skin tight, ass and pussy hugging and the closest I’ll ever get to seeing them naked. I guess it is evolution of the cocktease slut, as the cocktease slut is wider spread than ever, and soon enough bitches will be walking around the city naked, pointing to their pussies asking if you want it only to say “you can’t have it” so you act like the caveman you are and take it because there’s only so much cocktease a man can take before raping.
