For weeks, fear enveloped Kaufman County, Texas as two county prosecutors and one of their wives had been killed, and no one having an idea why. An arrest now brings the case back to an elected official who’d been booted from office and allegedly held a grudge against those who helped convict him. Eric Williams, 46, the county’s disgraced former justice of the peace, was targeted by his wife, Kim, also 46, who confessed the couple’s role in the murders. “Law enforcement in the State of Texas takes this all very seriously,” Kirby Dendy, assistant director/chief in charge of the Texas Rangers, said Thursday. “The murder of a public official … is an assault against all citizens in this state.” She was charged Wednesday with capital murder for the shootings of Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse, who was killed January 31 as he walked to work at the courthouse District Attorney Mike McLelland His wife, Cynthia The latter two killings were discovered March 30. Kelly Hildebrandt and Kelly Hildebrandt, "Facebook Couple," to Divorce

Kelly Hildebrandt and Kelly Hildebrandt, the Facebook couple who met, fell in love and got married all because they have the same name, are getting divorced. The pair with matching names made news when they tied the knot in 2009. But both Kelly Hildebrandts came to realize that sharing a name wasn’t enough . “She’s a Florida girl, and I’m a Texas guy,” Kelly Carl Hildebrandt (the guy) told Miami news station NBC 6. “We really did come from pretty different worlds.” The romance started in the same world: Facebook. One night in 2008, Kelly Katrina Hildebrandt was curious and bored. Wondering if anyone on the website shared her name, she typed it into the search engine. Up popped Kelly Carl. The then-20-year-old emailed the 24-year-old about the coincidence. Emails led to phone calls, phone calls to visits, and the whirlwind romance led to an engagement. The two wed in 2009; the news made People and Today . But despite sharing a name, blond good looks and worldwide attention, the marriage crumbled. “How do they term it at the courthouse? ‘Irreconcilable differences,’ that is what I would say,” added Kelly Carl Hildebrandt. “We gave it our best shot.”

NFL Hall Of Famer Lawrence Taylor Wins Underage Rape Lawsuit

Dude lit up a cigar after his ‘victorious’ win and after expressing sympathy for the 19-year-old woman he was accused of raping in 2010 , Taylor told reporters he was ready to move forward from the embarrassing chapter of his life. According to The New York Post : NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor has won a lawsuit that tried to hold him accountable for sex with a 16-year-old girl in a hotel room near New York City. The jury returned its verdict Friday after hearing testimony from the now 19-year-old woman and Taylor. Taylor gave a thumbs-up to a friend in the spectator area when the verdict was announced. Outside the courthouse, the former New York Giants linebacker celebrated by lighting up a big cigar — when asked what kind it was, a triumphant LT said “Redemption!” “I feel for what she’s gone through,” Taylor told reporters. “I wasn’t a bad person. I could have helped her … I hope the best for her. Now it’s time to go back and concentrate on my own broken life.” Taylor acknowledged that he had sex in 2010 with a prostitute. He denied, however, that he ignored obvious signs she was a teen runaway in distress. The woman had claimed that an abusive pimp forced her to have sex with Taylor for $300, in an encounter that occurred in a hotel room in Montebello, just north of New York City. She sued Taylor, seeking unspecified damages. After the verdict, a juror told The Post the jury was unanimously behind Taylor, and some members wanted to find for the fallen football star in as little as five minutes. “I, and I think everyone, had an extreme amount of sympathy for [the woman],” said the juror, a female 43-year-old engineer from Westchester. “It came down to a matter of consent because they obviously had some kind of physical contact … She gave her consent by removing her clothes and allowing penetration. There was no clear point where we thought Mr. Taylor should have stopped,” the juror said. Hmm…maybe he should have stopped since he knew her ‘consent’ came from her Pimp. Images via

Rupert Everett Creates Stir with Anti-Gay Parenting Comment

Rupert Everett has stirred up quite a bit of controversy with comments made to The Sunday Times Magazine in Great Britain. The actor, who came out of the closet at age 18, told the publication that his mother has met his boyfriend and gets along with him very well – but would prefer if her child came home instead with a wife and kids. “She thinks children need a father and a mother and I agree with her,” Everett said. “I can’t think of anything worse than being brought up by two gay dads. Some people might not agree with that. Fine! That’s just my opinion.” Expecting backlash, Everett added: “I’m not speaking on behalf of the gay community. In fact, I don’t feel like I’m part of any ‘community.’ The only community I belong to is humanity and we’ve got too many children on the planet, so it’s good not to have more.” Ben Summerskill, chief executive of Stonewall (a British gay rights group) reacted swiftly to Everett’s comments, releasing a statement that reads: “Rupert should get out a little bit more to see the facts for himself. There is absolutely no evidence that the kids of gay parents suffer in the way they are being brought up or in how they develop.” What do you think of Rupert Everett’s anti-gay parenting stance? It is…

Seth MacFarlane CRUSHES Ryan Lochte on SNL

Seth MacFarlane impersonated Ryan Lochte on Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” segment two nights ago, giving Seth Myers a preview of fall TV shows. The Family Guy and Ted movie creator just eviscerated the Olympic champion, portraying Lochte as a dumb jock with lines such as “I was America in Olympics.” “Ryan” referred to Matthew Perry’s new show Go On as “Goon” (he didn’t realize it was two words) and kept calling Animal Practice “Monkey Hospital.” #JEAH! The kicker? At one point he randomly says, “It feels so weird to be dry.” Watch Seth’s brutal parody of the Olympic swimming champ here: Seth MacFarlane as Ryan Lochte

Dirty Dog Diaries: John Edwards Walks In Federal Corruption Trial

Every dog has his day. Edwards Trial Jury Deadlocked On 5 Charges, Not Guilty On Remaining Charge Four years, a pregnant jump off, a lost presidency bid, and 6 counts of federal corruption charges later, former U.S. Senator John “Scumbag” Edwards has finally had his day in court. Too bad it’s looking like the jury has cut him some slack. According to TMZ reports : John Edwards has just been found NOT GUILTY on one of six campaign fraud charges stemming from his 2008 run for President — the judge declared a mistrial on the remaining counts after jurors deadlocked. Edwards was found “not guilty” of receiving illegal campaign contributions. The jury failed to reach a verdict on the other charges — including three additional counts of illegal campaign contributions, one count of conspiracy, and one count of making false statements. The jury — 8 men, 4 women — reached today’s verdict after 9 days of deliberations. The two-time former Presidential candidate was charged with the six counts of campaign finance fraud for allegedly using nearly $1 million in campaign contributions to hide his mistress Rielle Hunter and their lovechild from the public. Edwards faced a maximum of 30 years in prison and a $1.5 million fine. In closing arguments, Edwards’ lawyer had told the jury the money to hide his mistress came from a former campaign treasurer and an elderly supporter — both of whom gave Edwards the money as a gift for his benefit … not as part of his campaign. Edwards’ lawyer said the money was used to hide his affair from his dying wife, claiming, “John was a bad husband, but there is not the remotest chance that John did or intended to violate the law.” Edwards spoke briefly outside the courthouse after the verdict was read, saying how grateful he was for his children — and when he got to the 4-year-old daughter Quinn (whom Edwards fathered with mistress Rielle Hunter) he choked up, saying, “My precious Quinn, who I love more than any of you can ever imagine, [who] I am so close to, so, so grateful for.” We don’t know if prosecutors will push for a retrial. Update: George Zimmerman Makes First Court Appearance, More Details Emerge On Why He Was Charged

George Zimmerman Makes First Court Appearance Neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman made his first court appearance Thursday on a second-degree murder charge in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, as a court document provided new details on the prosecution’s case. During the brief appearance, Zimmerman stood up straight, looked straight ahead and wore a gray prison jumpsuit. He spoke only to answer “Yes, sir,” twice after he was asked basic questions about the charge against him and his attorney. His hair was shaved down to stubble and he had a thin goatee, which appeared consistent with his booking photo from the day before. He had resurfaced Wednesday to turn himself in after weeks in hiding. Judge Mark E. Herr said he found probable cause to move ahead with the case and that an arraignment would be held on May 29 before another judge. A document prepared by prosecutors shed some light on why they chose to charge Zimmerman. The affidavit says Martin’s mother identified screams heard in the background of a 911 call as her son’s. There had been some question as to whether Martin or Zimmerman was the one calling for help. Prosecutors also interviewed a friend of Martin’s who was talking to him just before the shooting. The affidavit says Martin told the witness he was being followed and was scared. Martin tried to run home, the affidavit says, but was followed by Zimmerman: “Zimmerman got out of his vehicle and followed Martin.” The affidavit says that “Zimmerman disregarded the police dispatcher” who told him to stop, and “continued to follow Martin who was trying to return to his home.” The Orlando Sentinel obtained the affidavit of probable cause before it was filed with the courthouse. Speaking to reporters after the hearing, attorney Mark O’Mara said he was concerned that the case up to now has been handled in the public eye, with details coming out in piecemeal fashion. “It’s really supposed to happen in the courtroom,” O’Mara said, deflecting questions about evidence in the case and his client’s mental state. Earlier Thursday on NBC’s “Today” show, O’Mara said Zimmerman is stressed and very tired and hoping to get bail. Source
