Heard You: ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Movie Director Announces Changes Are Coming After Slander

Source: Paramount Pictures Sonic fans were up in arms after Paramount Pictures shared the first trailer for its Sonic The Hedgehog movie. The fallout was so bad that the director of the film announced that changes will be made before the films theatrical release. The trailer has managed to rack up over 22 million views but has nearly 500,000 dislikes compared to 291K likes. Twitter collectively lost all of its rings when they got their first glimpse of the CGI blue hedgehog and rightfully so. He looked absolutely a mess thanks to his weird human-like features which included his awkward furry long legs, missing gloves, and his human teeth. One Twitter user went as far as to fix the character, and we can’t front their version looks way better than the studios. Left is original screenshot. Right is my rework to make #Sonic more stylized. pic.twitter.com/IhXeAZYlQI — Edward Pun (@EdwardPun1) April 30, 2019 Well Sonic fans your outrage has been acknowledged, and your screams have been heard, the director for the movie Jeff Fowler announced via his Twitter account that changes are coming to Sonic. “Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… # sonicmovie # gottafixfast” Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast — Jeff Fowler (@fowltown) May 2, 2019 Now whether that means the movie will have its wig pushed back is unknown, but so far that doesn’t seem to be the case, and the film is still slated for a November release. As a gamer and a huge fan of the SEGA’s Sonic The Hedgehog I appreciate this. If you’re going to do this movie at least have the most accurate representation of the iconic character as possible. Chances are still high the movie will be a disaster but at least get that part of the film right, the casting of Jim Carey as Dr.Robotnik already seems like a good move on their part. We are hoping that Paramount Pictures and SEGA are taking cues from Edward Pun’s job when it comes to bringing the speedy hedgehog to the screen. — Photo: Paramount Pictures

The fashion beauty had no experience in fashion, but that didn’t stop her from becoming the entrepreneur that all your faves go to for fly footwear. Back in 2018, Jessica told the Daily Mail , “I always wore heels, never flats or gym shoes. Little did I know I would be designing them one day. MODEL MONDAY: Bri Findlay Fought To Make Her Runway Dreams A Reality

Agency:   Major Model Management Instagram:   @bri.findlay  Claim to Fame: If you’ve ever considered picking up one of e.l.f.’s pore refining glam glitter masks this is the pretty face that’s been staring back at you from the ads. View this post on Instagram Super thankful to start off the new year with my elf fam! It’s such an unreal feeling to go online and see my face lol! I overcame a lot within myself over the course of 2017 and I’m so grateful for the continued support of my friends and family. Yay 2018 Thanks @jakahn @moisays @ashleydahlen @talentmanmodels @makeurmark @vicky_steckel @imgmodels @elfcosmetics A post shared by BRI (@bri.findlay) on Jan 4, 2018 at 6:53pm PST Bri Findlay’s modeling career started in a hallway. Rushing between classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology Findlay had a brush with “destiny” when an instructor at the institute suggested that she consider modeling. In an exclusive interview with Hello Beautiful, Findlay explained working with other models to gain valuable information about the industry and how a quick tap on the shoulder completely changed the course of her career. “It wasn’t even my professor . He just saw me in the hallway and was like, ‘do you model?’,” she said. The 5’10” design student said that the moment felt like “destiny,” as it opened her up to a slew of industry insiders who all seemed eager to help her get started. “It just seemed like one person after the other kind of introduced me to the next person and I ended up getting signed.” Photo Credit: Lee & Cris Photography Signing to one of the most prestigious agencies in the business signified a clear route to overnight success for Findlay. She immediately became consumed with thoughts of all of the amazing opportunities that she just knew were already on their way. To her surprise though getting signed was just the first feat on the path. “Things got a little rocky after that,” she said. “It’s not always a straight shot.” She continued, “I thought that things would be easy. I thought I would be taken care of. I thought I would have direction. I thought that whatever agent that I got would basically help and take care of me.” Assumptions were all she had to go on because unlike more traditional careers like law and medicine there was no handbook on how to conduct yourself as a model. She explained that instead of being lavished with the support of an attentive team focused on nothing but getting her to the top she was placed in a position to learn about the realities of how much work it took to move up in the modeling industry. Soon she was left to figure out the dynamics of the business completely on her own after experiencing a routine occurrence many models experience but few discuss openly…being dropped. Fortunately, Findlay was no stranger to hustle . Her journey to FIT has included plenty of it.  Before she began filling her tote with sketchpads and notebooks to capture the constant stream of ideas she has on photoshoot sets, the Flatbush native clawed her way to getting a proper secondary education. She researched the best schools available to her that prioritized the arts and auditioned for several schools to make sure she had a place. “There’s not a lot of high schools that even have that in New York,” she said.  She portrayed the stiff competition as “ American Idol but for drawing, if they really liked you then you got accepted to the school.” Photo Credit: Lee & Cris Photography She stayed committed because she knew there were no alternatives for her, she had to be able to express herself for a living. “It wasn’t something I could put down. It wasn’t something that was gonna leave me. Design and creativity all of that is a part of my personality.” She took the same “no plan B” approach she took to finding a high school and applied it to finding a new agency being proactive about moving forward. “You have to be really resourceful on your own and you have to keep pushing yourself because at the end of the day these agencies are managing hundreds of other models at the same time. What I realize is often times they don’t even have enough time to get around to every girl. So, it’s essential to take notes and learn as much as you can and ask questions of other models and really just build your knowledge on the industry , so you just have that extra knowledge in your back pocket.” “I did get dropped a year ago,” she admitted. “But then I resigned to Major,” she added proudly. The experience taught her that the only way she was going to get ahead was if she tapped into her ability to advocate for herself and expanded her circle so that she could learn from others. Photo Credit: Lee & Cris Photography She turned not only to the professor who scouted her, she describes him as “still very much present” in her life but to other models who might have had similar experiences. While a lack of perceived support left her feeling “out of place an uncomfortable” around the other models initially she pushed past that feeling and reached out to others. “Other people in the industry helped me, other models . We kind of formed a little coalition and helped each other out. We give each other advice and hope for the best.” Today she’s continuing to immerse herself in all the ways one can be creative in the design industry and working towards building her own design business. She says modeling has significantly informed her work as an artist and being on set allows her “get how design works,” in a new way.  After walking at Fashion Week in New York and Paris this year she feels confident about where her career is heading and excited about the future. “Things are on the up and up now.” DON’T MISS: MODEL MONDAY: Muslim Model Leah Vernon Is Body Positive Without Baring It All MODEL MONDAY: Flaviana Matata Is Using Modeling To Give Girls In Her Country A Future MODEL MONDAY: Ambre Anderson Went From Staying On A Couch To Owning A Condo By Keeping Focused [ione_media_gallery src=”https://hellobeautiful.com” id=”3024203″ overlay=”true”]

Burberry Apologizes For “Noose Hoodie” Showcased At London Fashion Week

Source: John Keeble / Getty What is going on with these brands? Just after Gucci and Moncler were blasted for racist designs that very blatantly showcased blackface, Burberry is also being accused of racism and insensitivity. After featuring a hoodie with a noose around the neck during their autumn/winter 2019 fashion show on Sunday, Burberry CEO Marc Gobbetti is apologizing. “We are deeply sorry for the distress caused by one of the products that featured in our A/W 2019 runway collection Tempest,” Gobbetti said in the statement provided to CNN . “Though the design was inspired by the marine theme that ran throughout the collection, it was insensitive and we made a mistake.” Liz Kennedy—a model who was a part of the show— came for Burberry hard over the weekend. “Suicide is not fashion. It is not glamorous nor edgy and since this show is dedicated to the youth expressing their voice, here I go. Riccardo Tisci and everyone at Burberry it is beyond me how you could let a look resembling a noose hanging from a neck out on the runway” she wrote, adding “How could anyone overlook this and think it would be okay to do this especially in a line dedicated to young girls and youth. The impressionable youth. Not to mention the rising suicide rates world wide. Let’s not forget about the horrifying history of lynching either. There are hundreds of ways to tie a rope and they chose to tie it like a noose completely ignoring the fact that it was hanging around a neck. A massive brand like Burberry who is typically considered commercial and classy should not have overlooked such an obvious resemblance.” See her full message, along with a photo of the hoodie, below. I left my fitting extremely triggered after seeing this look (even though I did not wear it myself). Feeling as though I was right back where I was when I was going through an experience with suicide in my family. Also to add in they briefly hung one from the ceiling (trying to figure out the knot) and were laughing about it in the dressing room. I had asked to speak to someone about it but the only thing I was told to do was to write a letter. I had a brief conversation with someone but all that it entailed was “it’s fashion. Nobody cares about what’s going on in your personal life so just keep it to yourself” well I’m sorry but this is an issue bigger than myself. The issue is not about me being upset, there is a bigger picture here of what fashion turns a blind eye to or does to gain publicity. A look so ignorantly put together and a situation so poorly handled. I am ashamed to have been apart of the show. #burberry. I did not post this to disrespect the designer or the brand but to simply express an issue I feel very passionate about. A post shared by (@liz.kennedy_) on Feb 17, 2019 at 9:51am PST Photo: Getty

‘LHHNYS9’ Recap: Yandy’s Foster Daughter May Not Have Told Her The Truth

See the original post here:

Source: Brian Stukes / Getty Tonight’s episode of Love and Hip-Hop New York finds Yandy on a high. She was granted an emergency hearing with regard to Infinity and the judge approved Infinity to stay with Yandy temporarily  and  they got the fostering process moving forward. Yaaaaay! Both Yandy and Infinity are thrilled, but Yandy is soon going to find out that she may have moved into this too quickly. Hold that thought. Joe Budden and Cyn still a mess, but they finally end up having respective chats with Dr. Jenn, Vh1’s resident psychotherapist. Joe talks about Cyn being moody and how his career has been accelerating, etc. Cyn finally does open up about what she believes is postpartum depression, Joe being busy with work and not having time for her, the pressures of motherhood, etc. The bombshell comes when Cyn reveals that she doesn’t want a nanny because she ended up being molested by a woman who was supposed to be looking after her when she was five. That’s a secret that only three people (including Joe) knew up until that revelation (not even her mom knew). Dr. Jenn says she doesn’t think Cyn is dealing with postpartum depression. What Cyn is dealing with, according to the doctor, is her unresolved issues surfacing in the form of depression, anxiety, and resentment toward Joe. Cyn agrees with Dr. Jenn’s assessment. Dr. Jenn eventually speaks to Joe on behalf of Cynthia and it seems like he receives the message better than when Cyn communicates, but these issues aren’t going away overnight. This becomes clear later on when they double date with Papoose and Remy Ma and Papoose gives then the genius advice to get married. Papoose’s logic is that if they get married they’ll be more likely to use their vows as guidelines to make it work. Mmmmkay. Mendeecees’ mother gets word of Yandy’s seemingly hasty foster mom moves and she’s rightfully concerned about Yandy bringing this girl around her grandchildren. Yandy thinks she has everything figured out, but then she meets with Infinity’s birth mother to get her blessing to adopt Infinity, only to discover that Infinity gave her a different story. Mama Infinity’s story is shady too though. Her version is that she’s a single mom with 6 kids and she wants to do what’s best for them, especially Infinity. She claims that Infinity was a sweet child but then once she became a teenager she started running away then next thing you know authorities picked her up, said that mom was abusive and took Infinity away. That sounds like a lot of details are missing, but in the end, Yandy finds out that Infinity actually never grew up in foster care despite telling her that. According to Infinity’s mom, her daughter has only been in foster care since last November. The conversation goes well. Mama Infinity gives Yandy her blessing to adopt and gives her a loaded, “Good luck.” Later on, Yandy has a moment where Infinity goes missing. Eventually, Infinity turns up again and Yandy is pissed. But Infinity says she ran away because she was pissed after discovering that Yandy spoke to her mother. Yandy calls Infinity out for lying about how long she has been in foster care. Infinity says her mom isn’t being truthful and doesn’t want to take responsibility for being a bad mom. In the end, Yandy still feels bad for Infinity and says she’s on her side no matter what, but she has to stop running away and learn to trust her. We’ll see how this goes. Sidney Starr and Nya Lee get into it again. Basically, Sidney shows up to some event wearing her own dress instead of something “fashion expert” Nya Lee picked out. This leads to Nya Lee going off on Sidney and calling her ungrateful. Sidney bucks at Nya like she’s going to hit her but it’s just a bluff. Jonathan is just standing there feigning like he’s lost, but really taking it all in because he’s messy. Nya decides to leave before she resorts to fighting. Jonathan sides with Nya Lee in thinking Sidney is ungrateful. This is going to be revisited next week. You know how petty beef never dies on this show. There’s supposed to be a trip coming up. We know how that’s going to go. The episode winds down with Rich Dollaz’s drama. Rich is distraught because his daughter’s mother, Miracle, shot her husband in a domestic violence incident. Rich’s daughter, Ashley, took the man to the hospital but doesn’t know much else about what’s happening. Miracle left Rich and Ashley in the dark but now, ish is real. Initially, Miracle was charged with attempted murder but the charges were dropped to aggravated assault and she has to go to court for a plea hearing. Plea hearings never go well. Anyway, Rich, who feels guilty for not staying in Memphis to protect them, convinces Miracle to tell Ashley (who is 19) what’s going on. They all come to tears over Miracle’s uncertain future. Next week we find out what happens at the hearing. Fingers crossed. A Broken Promise & Game 7 Of The 2016 NBA Finals Led This Young Man To Start A Mini-Revolution On Rikers Island

View original post here:

Source: Courtesy of Isiah (IG: @_callme_zay) Conversation surrounding criminal justice reform is gaining traction as world leaders like President Barack Obama and business moguls like Jay-Z call out widespread racial disparities in the prison system. Obama took a ton of important steps toward change, including being the first president to (very publicly) visit a prison and spend time with convicts, banning juvenile solitary confinement, and commuting a total of 1,175 sentences (330 in a single day). Jay-Z brought to light the devastating story of Kalief Browder , a young man from the Bronx who spent three terrible years in jail even though he was never convicted of a crime. After all he’d been through, Browder tragically committed suicide. And of course we can’t forget about Meek Mill getting politically active, as he calls out the injustices he, himself, has faced at the hands of the justice system. Meek’s stories give those who can’t relate to being locked up an insider’s look at how young black men are targeted and kept behind bars for extended periods of time. The movement is beginning to mobilize and more and more people are beginning to do their part to create the change we’d all like to see. Cue a young man from Harlem who’s sharing an incredible story of resistance this week. His name is Isiah , he’d been locked up on Rikers Island in 2016 when the warden broke a promise she’d made regarding game 7 in the NBA Finals and all hell broke loose. How he handled the escalating dispute and what he has to say about it today will give you chills. Isiah told Humans Of NY , “Every month in prison they had something called Inmate Council, where you get to meet with the prison administration and make suggestions. I volunteered to be the representative for my housing unit. And toward the end of the meeting, the warden asked if anyone had questions or concerns.” At the time, the Cleveland Cavaliers were going against the Golden State Warriors and the fellas just wanted to be able to tune in. “The NBA finals were going on at the time. So I raised my hand and asked: ‘If the Cavs force a game seven, can we keep the TV on past lock up time?’ And she agreed. She agreed in front of everyone,” Isiah explained. But things didn’t go as planned. “So when game seven came around, all of us were excited. We gathered around the TV in the dayroom to watch the game. But right as the second quarter was starting, the television clicked off. The CO came down and tried to kick everybody out. I told her the warden gave us permission, but she said it didn’t matter. And that’s when things began to go downhill. We refused to leave. The CO went behind a protected gate and pulled the silent alarm. We grabbed all the tables and chairs and stacked them up against the door. We covered the floor in shampoo and water. The security team came back with riot gear and huge cans of pepper spray, but we kept the door closed for over two hours. When they finally got inside, they were slipping all over the place. We just laid down on the floor and put our hands behind our back. I was given thirty days in solitary confinement. But I had to do the right thing,” he told Humans Of NY. Reflecting on his decision at the time, he added “Women are allowed to vote because some woman wanted to vote. The Civil Rights Movement started because Rosa Parks didn’t want to get out of her seat. And next time there’s a game seven of the NBA Finals, I bet they’re going to leave the TV on in Building Six at Rikers Island.” When Global Grind reached out for more details about that scary day, Isiah said since he was removed from the housing area he isn’t sure what the warden had to say for herself after the fact. However, he told us that at his Disciplinary Action meeting it’d been pretty obvious the guards turned off all the cameras at the time of the inmates’ sit-in. “When I asked them to show the cameras, they said they were ‘off’ and not working because they are new. But I know they weren’t telling the truth because they’d recently installed a camera they could control remotely. One night the camera was facing the front, the next morning the camera was facing the back of the housing area—and  Rikers cameras are recording constantly to precent inmate on inmate violence.” Isiah mentioned, “This is what they do when they want to get away with assaulting you.” Today, the Game Design major has one semester left at Hostos Community College before he graduates. He tells Global Grind, “All I want to do is show my peers that it’s never too late to turn your life around and get on the right path.” [ione_media_gallery src=”https://globalgrind.cassiuslife.com” id=”3882098″ overlay=”true”]

This Youtuber Is In The News For Tipping His Waitress $10K, Here’s 5 Other Times He’s Given Away Insane Amounts Of Cash

Continue reading here:

Source: Design Pics / SW Productions / Getty Headlines about a man who ordered only water at a restaurant and tipped $10,000 have been all over the place this week–but there’s a lot more to the story than most are aware of. An East Carolina University Student by the name of Alaina was working her shift at Sup Dogs in Greenville, North Carolina when a customer came in and only ordered two waters. Once he departed, he left a note saying, “thanks for the delicious water,” along with an extremely generous $10,000 tip. Seems unbelievable, especially to the lucky waitress at the receiving end of the cash. She told the News Observer,  “I literally didn’t think it was real. I picked it up and it was a giant stack of hundreds, I was shaking and just kept asking, ‘What is this?’ I thought someone was playing a joke on me.” But the money was very real and not at all a joke. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But as it turns out, this good deed wasn’t just a one-off by some wealthy do-gooder, this was none other than  Mr. Beast . The Youtuber, whose real name is  Jimmy Donaldson , is known for his elaborate videos–many of which involve him giving away large sums of money to different groups of people like waitresses, pizza delivery guys, and the homeless. Though this wasn’t the first time Donaldson had given away huge wads of cash to some deserving servers, it was the most he’s ever given to one lone waitress. While most Youtubers take their sponsorships to either pay their own bills or buy supplies for videos, Mr. Beast commonly gets sponsored by different companies just to give the money away to strangers–and a lot of times, he ends up pitching in his own money too. If you’ve never seen one of his videos, be prepared to feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Check out these five others times Mr. Beast blessed the people in his community, giving out hundreds of thousands of dollars.   I Tipped Waitresses $20,000 As I mentioned before, this recent $10,000 tip wasn’t the first time Jimmy blessed some waitresses–but in this previous instance, he made a lot more than just one person’s day.
