Trey Songz’ SnapChats To Be Used In Assault Trial If you’ll recall, Tremaine was charged with assault on a Detroit police officer during a concert on back in December, where he reportedly threw a fit and tossed stage equipment around after his performance set was cut short at Joe Louis Arena. He’s charged with one count of assaulting a police officer causing injury and one count of aggravated assault. Now, the judge in the case is ruling that some of Trey’s statements regarding cops separate from the incident can be included in the case…just so the jury knows exactly where his head is at when it comes to police. Wayne County Circuit Judge Lawrence Talon ruled that some saved SnapChat videos depicting Trey making statements like “F*** the Police” were admissible into evidence by the prosecution. According to Fox 2 News Detroit , prosecutors argue: “Given the fact that the defendant is highly unsatisfied with police as shown from these videos ahead of time, saying all these vulgar comments about police, it is relevant to show that the defendant intended to do the crime that he is charged with.” Well that is some interesting reasoning…but obviously, the judge bought it. SMH, things aren’t looking too great for Trey… WENN
Lil Uzi Vert Tried To Get It Popping At A Music Festival Lil Uzi Vert was at the Day N Nite music festival when he bumped into his foe, Reese La Flare. Reese, who recently dropped a diss toward Uzi, was on the other side of a wall made by security as Uzi frantically tried to get in Reese’s face. No hands were thrown but the Philly “rockstar” had some choice words for the man who accused him of stealing his persona. Complex dropped additional info on the foundation for the “beef” between the two rappers. Be careful who you drop a diss track to because you never know when you might bump into them in real life and how they might react . A few months back a rapper named Reese LaFlare unleashed a record titled “180secs” in an attempt to tear down Lil Uzi Vert. Recently, Uzi caught up with LaFlare at the Day N Night Music Festival around Irvine, Calif., and, well, this happened: Uzi is noticeably pissed and tries to get at LaFlare, but is held back by security. When he breaks free, he tries running back around, but is met by another wall of people who prevent the two men from coming to blows. It’s not the best look for Uzi, who spouts off an array of homophobic slurs at LaFlare before finally walking away. Then again, if someone is claiming that you stole their whole persona in order to get ahead like LaFlare does on “180secs” – “You took my shit and you cloned it, yeah / I need that back cause I own it, yeah” – you’d be hot too. Given the fact they’re both young and rap isn’t as violent as it used to be they’ll probably squash the beef and be on tour together by the end of the year. Image via Atlantic Records
Safe to say Chad Johnson missed Evelyn Lozada ‘s interview on Nightline . The Basketball Wives star told ABC she hasn’t spoken to her hubs since the “humiliating” incident in which Chad head-butted her , and probably won’t again. “I would like for him to tell me he got help and that he’s working on himself,” said Evelyn, adding that her husband “made a bad choice that destroyed his life.” Ocho, meanwhile, just got a new tattoo of Evelyn’s FACE on his leg: Fans, not surprisingly, were a bit confused as to why Chad would get the tattoo, given the fact that Evelyn filed for divorce after six weeks of marriage. The former Miami Dolphin was not happy with the Twitter inquiries. When @TeeSplash101 wrote “I really want to know why @ochocinco tatted Evelyn’s face on his leg post divorce,” Chad responded “Divorce? Child please… that’s my WIFE.” Then, after @CCHx3REH asked “I thought she filed for divorce tho?”, Johnson replied “I dont give a flying pretzel in skittle rainbow hell what she filed for…” Chad Johnson, everybody. Here’s Ev’s interview on Nightline:
Director calls first film ‘an extraordinary experience’ — but he also tells MTV News he needs to rest for ’17 years in a cave.’ By Kara Warner Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in “The Avengers” Photo: Marvel Studios Now that “Marvel’s The Avengers” has taken in oodles and oodles of cash during its opening weekend here in the U.S., it’s time to talk about the sequel, of course! There will likely need to be some serious discussions about scheduling, but given the fact that Marvel already has plans for a slew of other superhero-related sequels like “Iron Man 3” , “Captain America 2” and “Thor 2,” another “Avengers” can’t be too far away, can it? MTV News put the question to the first film’s mastermind, Joss Whedon, by asking for his thoughts on returning to helm a second chapter of the film. Whedon provided some insightful commentary about his experience, along with some artful dodgery. “You know, it was an extraordinary experience,” Whedon said. “The actors gave me so much, Marvel gave me so much trust. And [when] I said, ‘Well, if I was going to do this [movie], I’d like to do this,’ that’s the movie I made,” he explained of his satisfaction with the creative freedom he was afforded with the film. “And they only ever moved it forward and collaborated and supported me. And I gotta tell you, that’s unusual from a studio.” So we’ll take that positive and diplomatic response as “I will have to think about it”? Similarly, when we ran into Whedon at the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles, we tried to get more specific and asked him how many days of vacation he’d need before he’d be able to think about a sequel. “Seventeen years in a tiny cave,” Whedon said with a smile. “In Tibet.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Marvel’s The Avengers.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com . Beastie Boys were also inducted on a night when Guns singer Axl Rose refused to attend. By Gil Kaufman Former Guns N’ Roses members Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan, Slash and Steven Adler attend the 2012 Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony Photo: Getty Images If it’s the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, then drama is as much a prerequisite as loud guitars, receding hairlines and a night-ending all-star jam on a golden oldie. Saturday night’s 27th edition was no exception according to reports, with as much intrigue as a telenovela, as well as some genuinely peaceful Southern California bro-downage, irreverent induction speeches and fresh spots in the Hall for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, The Faces, Freddie King, Laura Nyro and Guns N’ Roses . The spotlight, of course, was on the famously fractured band of battling former brothers in GNR. Lead singer and sole remaining original member Axl Rose loudly decried the institution in a scathing letter earlier in the week, saying he would not attend and intimating that anyone who did was a fraud. That was just fine for former guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, who made the most of the honor, while, ahem, never once mentioning Rose. “I don’t know that it matters who’s here tonight, because it’s about the music that these bands played,” said McKagan, who jammed a short time later on three songs with a pseudo-GNR made up of Slash, former Guns guitarist Gilby Clarke and drummers Steven Adler and Matt Sorum and Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy. It was the first time in nearly 20 years that Slash, McKagan and Adler had performed together and according to reports there were little signs of rust on the classics “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City.” In his induction speech at the Cleveland ceremony, Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong dubbed Guns’ 1987 album, Appetite for Destruction , “the best debut album in the history of rock and roll … every song hits hard. It takes you ion a trip to the seedy world of Los Angeles. The thing that set them apart from everyone else was guts.” And after ticking off the strengths of all the members of the group, he cheekily added, “Let’s see, who am I missing?” The latter set off yet another chorus of four-letter catcalls from the 7,400 in attendance, which inspired Armstrong to add, “Shut up. He [Rose] was the greatest frontman to ever step in front of a microphone.” Rose wasn’t the only star missing. Rod Stewart was not on hand to celebrate with the Faces/Small Faces because he was reportedly sick with the flu and Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch was absent because of ongoing recovery from cancer treatment. B Boys member Mike D made up for it, giving a shout-out to the trio’s hometown for inspiration. “Thank you, New York City, for basically raising us and giving us all the music we love and grew up on,” said D, who was on hand along with bandmate Ad-Rock to celebrate becoming only the third hip-hop act in the Hall. During a later performance, Kid Rock, Travie McCoy and the Roots’ Black Thought joined the duo for a medley of their classics, including “Sabotage.” Also inducted were Donovan, blues guitarist Freddie King, Laura Nyro, music exec Don Kirshner and a number of sidemen and backup musicians. Accepting their award from comedian Chris Rock, Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis said it felt a bit weird to join such a hallowed hall when his band is still out on the road promoting new music. “We’re going somewhere,” he said. “How can we stop and take an award when really we’re just halfway there?” The Peppers later performed with a triple-drummer line-up that included two former skins pounders, Jack Irons and Cliff Martinez. The five-plus hour ceremony will be boiled down to a two-and-a-half hour special for a May 5 HBO broadcast. Related Artists Guns N’ Roses Red Hot Chili Peppers Beastie Boys
‘Avengers’ stars discuss the possibility with MTV News. By Kara Warner Mark Ruffalo Photo: MTV News With anticipation for upcoming blockbuster “Marvel’s The Avengers” hitting a fever pitch after last week’s world premiere and the first round of very positive reactions from tastemakers , we might as well start looking ahead toward the future and the next wave of Marvel films like “Captain America 2,” “Thor 2” and “Iron Man 3.” “Iron Man 3” is first up in production, with Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson , Don Cheadle and recently announced villain Ben Kingsley . Now given the fact that the film will take place after the action in “The Avengers,” we can’t help but assume and hope that a few of Tony Stark’s new friends from “Avengers” make appearances in Downey Jr’s third Iron Man outing, particularly since Stark and Bruce Banner seem to form a very close friendship in Whedon’s “Avengers.” When MTV News caught up with the man should be making that appearance, Mark Ruffalo, we asked him how Bruce Banner might end up in “Iron Man 3” . “On a horse,” Ruffalo joked about how he should make a cameo. “What if Hulk had a whale that he road?” “Are you in Iron Man 3?” Johansson asked. “No, not that I know of,” Ruffalo said. “That’s a great idea.” “You never know until the last minute,” Johansson pointed out. “They could just call you up.” “I’m sure there’s a way for me to find my way into that,” Ruffalo said. “You should,” Johansson said. “We work well together,” Ruffalo said of his rapport with Downey Jr. “I think you guys are fabulous together,” Johansson said. “And your scenes [in “Avengers”] are some of my faves. “I’m a good foil for him,” Ruffalo added. “Certainly,” Johansson agreed. “And you share something.” “Will you talk to Kevin?” Ruffalo asked Johansson, requesting her to put some pressure on Marvel chief Kevin Feige. “I will,” she promised. “I hope I can join you guys,” Ruffalo said. “I think Bruce Banner would be a nice [addition]. “Well now that it’s been revealed to us that Bruce is a possibility, why wouldn’t we call him for every job, is what I’m wondering,” Johansson said. “Right,” said Ruffalo. “He’s easygoing until…” “Until you really need him,” Johansson offered.
Dr. Luke track is second single from Rih’s November 21 release Talk That Talk. By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna Photo: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images/DCP Rihanna is readying the release of her next album, Talk That Talk, on November 21, and with less than two weeks until it hits stores, she’s giving fans her second single, “You da One.” On Wednesday, MTV News got a preview of the album, and Rihanna channels a potty-mouthed sex kitten on “You da One.” The song is certainly more radio-friendly than most on an LP full of NSFW lyrics, as well as grinding, aggressive production. The Dr.Luke-produced single is a pure pop record with a touch of dubstep. She proudly declares on the song, “My love is your love/ Your love is my love,” later adding, “You’re the one I dream about.” The song will be officially unlocked on Friday on the star’s Facebook page. For the track’s cover art, Rihanna was shot in black and white smoking a cigarette with her head tilted back. “You da One” opens up the album, setting the tone for a nonstop party, where Rihanna never lets up. She embraces several musical genres, ranging from reggae to house to dancehall to pop, with a bit of everything in between. Talk That Talk ‘s first chart-topping single, “We Found Love,” was produced by Calvin Harris and currently sits at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. She also worked with Harris on the Talk That Talk track “Where Have You Been.” Other producers who made the album’s final cut include Stargate, Bangladesh and The-Dream. Jay-Z also appears on the album’s title track. In the lead-up to the LP’s release, Rihanna has some big TV plans, including an “X Factor” performance on November 17 and an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” the same day the album drops. ‘I don’t read the tabloids unless it’s about me,’ new Jenny Craig rep says. By Jocelyn Vena Mariah Carey Photo: Theo Wargo/ Getty Images When Mariah Carey sat down with Gayle King to announce she is the new face and body of Jenny Craig, she also opened up a bit about her personal life, including life as a new mom to “dem babies,” cooking for her famous friends and married life. When asked how she and Nick Cannon keep their marriage strong, she explained, “There’s no teams; me and Nick are the same team always … Sometimes we make each other mad. That’s why we’re not divorced after four months. I’m just saying this Hollywood thing … did I say something that is wrong?” The statement had many in the room laughing, given the fact that Kim Kardashian recently made headlines for breaking up with her hubby, Kris Humphries, after even less time. However, Carey insisted she wasn’t referring to anyone in particular. “First of all, I don’t read the tabloids unless it’s about me. And even then, when it is about me, I try not to read it unless it’s good,” Carey told “Extra.” “I don’t look at these people. “I don’t even know what it is, but I do know that marriages come and go really quickly in Hollywood.” Carey famously divorced record executive Tommy Mattola in 1998, and the pop star says when she married Cannon in 2008, she did it with the intention of staying married. “A lot of people have high-profile moments, and then they get a divorce, and I’m sure it’s very painful for them,” she said. “My thing is: I don’t want that. I got married to stay married. I want some stability for our kids, and Nick feels the same way. “Not only are we both kind of jokesters, for the lack of a better word, we are also kind of provincial in that way. I think we both believe in trying to make it through. I’m proud of it.” Related Photos Kim Kardashian And Kris Humphries: A Whirlwind Romance Related Artists Mariah Carey
Hot off the press a few minutes ago. It only took four days to log it, block it and cut it together, which is pretty impressive…given the fact that I’m sure she had no intention of converting her family vacation into a 3:00 campaign ad when this road trip began. Take a closer look at the super-soldier as we break down the upcoming action movie’s first full trailer. By Eric Ditzian Chris Evans and cast in the “Captain America: The First Avenger” trailer Photo: Marvel Before becoming the engineered superhero called Captain America, Steve Rogers attempts to join the Army five times in five cities, only to be rejected for being a pipsqueak with a ton of heart but not nearly big enough biceps. In a similar series of false starts, we’ve been treated to a slew of teasers for “Captain America: The First Avenger,” from a 30-second Super Bowl spot to a bunch of seconds-long video snippets parceled out over the last few days. Now, finally, we’re getting a shot of cinematic super-serum with the Marvel adaptation’s first full trailer . Here are our picks for the five coolest moments: The Shield … Kinda Here we see Rogers (Chris Evans) in pre-conversion twerp mode. Chased into an alley, he attempts to defend himself with a trashcan lid — a none-too-subtle nod to the red-white-and-blue shield he’ll soon wield as the Captain. Sure, he’s a scrawny fellow, but he’s brave. And as Dr. Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci) will tell Steve before transforming him into a superhero, “A weak man knows the value of strength, knows the value of power.” In terms of historical context, this shot also gives us a glimpse of around when the story begins. A poster in the alley shows the date: May 29, 1943. Meet Your Super-Serum So it’s that goopy blue stuff that transforms Rogers into a super-solider. We see Erskine in the laboratory, as well as Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), who just so happens to be the father of a certain iron-suited hero played in other Marvel movies by Robert Downey Jr. The serum doesn’t look that pleasant going in, but what a difference it makes: Rogers goes from zero to world-saving hero. Captain Action Listen, it’s hard out there for a super-solider. Even when an Army colonel (Tommy Lee Jones) is driving at top speed in a convertible and the Captain looks like he’s about to jump out and whup some Nazi butt, he pauses for a little smooch from Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). Pimp! Army of the Damned Check them out in all their blue-glowing glory: the HYDRA army controlled by Red Skull (Hugo Weaving), Hitler’s head honcho of weaponry and general evilness. It’s these soldiers who will face off against the Captain and his crew with the fate of the world in the balance. The Boys We’d sleep easier knowing this collection of dudes — Captain America and the much-hyped Howling Commandos — is protecting the nation. In addition to the Captain, you’ve got sidekick Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Union Jack (JJ Field) and Dum Dum Dungan (Neal McDonough). That’s a hero shot if we’ve ever seen one. “It’s an amazing costume,” Evans told us last year of his look. “Given the fact that his costume is red, white and blue, and it’s tight, and it could be kind of flash and over the top — and given the fact that the movie takes place in the ’40s and ’50s — they’ve done a really good job of making it look really cool.” What were your favorite moments?
