So Fetch: The Trailer for Mean Girls 2 Arrives

When Movieline caught up with original Mean Girls writer Tina Fey at Comic-Con this summer , she seemed decidedly against the idea of a sequel to Mean Girls . “Paramount was very generous and solicitous with me for several years, saying, ‘Would you like to do it?’ And at the time, I was like, ‘They should just let it be what it is!'” Fey said. Maybe Paramount should have listened to Fey after all.

Ten Things Everyone Should Know About Free-Range Turkeys

10 Things Everyone Should Know About Free-range Turkeys posted by: Angel Flinn 1 day ago Care2.com Over 280 million turkeys are slaughtered annually for human consumption in the United States, despite the fact that such consumption is unnecessary for humans and absolutely horrifying for turkeys. 45 million of those deaths occur for the ritual of Thanksgiving alone. Increasingly, as consumers are becoming more aware of the extreme cruelty of animal farming, free-range, organic and ‘natural’ animal products are gaining popularity. What many people don’t realize, however, is that animals raised under these labels frequently suffer through much of the same torment as those in standard factory farming operations. 1) According to the USDA, the terms “free range” and “free roaming” can be used to describe animals that “are allowed access to the outside for 51% of their lives”. There are no other requirements, including the amount of time spent outdoors or the quality and size of the outdoor area. For this reason, contrary to popular belief, “free-range” facilities are generally no more than large sheds in which tens of thousands of turkeys are crammed together on filthy, disease-ridden floors, living in their own waste. The conditions are often so poor that many turkeys die simply from the stress of living in such an environment. 2) Lighting is often kept dim to discourage aggression, since birds can engage in feather plucking and even cannibalism when they become highly stressed. Low lighting can cause reduced activity levels and result in abnormalities in growth, such as in the eyes and legs. 3) When raised for food, turkeys (even those described as free-range) are genetically modified to grow abnormally large — often twice their normal size — for producer profits. This genetic modification causes severe health problems, but since turkeys are generally slaughtered five months into their natural life span of 10 years, most are killed prior to the heart attacks or organ failure that would otherwise occur after six months. (This becomes apparent when genetically modified turkeys are rescued and allowed to live out the rest of their lives in sanctuary situations.) 4) “Natural”, “free range,” and “organic” turkeys are routinely subjected to debeaking, which is intended to prevent overcrowded birds from pecking at each other. Debeaking involves slicing off about one-third of a bird’s beak with a red hot blade when the turkey is around 5 days old (or often even younger). 5) To prevent cannibalism due to stressful conditions, turkeys sold under the above labels are just as likely to be subjected to detoeing. Detoeing is a very painful procedure which involves cutting off or microwaving the ends of the toes of male turkeys within the first three days of life. 6) Free-range, organic and natural operations are also allowed to practice desnooding, which consists of the cutting off of the snood (the fleshy appendage above the beak). Desnooding is an acutely painful procedure, and is often done with scissors, or using methods that are too brutal to describe here. 7) By the time the birds are sent to slaughter, as much as 80 per cent of the litter on the floor of the shed is their own feces. This results in a buildup of ammonia, causing turkeys to develop ulcerated feet and painful burns on their legs and bodies. 8) When they reach market weight, free-range turkeys generally undergo the same horrifying conditions on their way to slaughter as does any factory-farmed animal. Workers gather these birds up to four at a time, carrying them upside down by their legs and then throwing them into crates on multi-tiered trucks. During transport, they are at the mercy of the elements, sometimes enduring extreme cold, and are denied access to food or water. 9) After transportation, free-range turkeys arrive at the same slaughterhouses as turkeys from any other facility. In these places, workers often torture the turkeys – kicking them, throwing them into walls, and breaking their necks and bones. 10) Even when turkeys are not intentionally tortured during transportation or at the slaughterhouse, the killing process itself would certainly be considered torture if done to a human being. The birds are hung upside down by the legs, and dipped in an electrical bath that is supposed to “stun” them, but often only causes convulsions and terror. If they miss the stunning bath, their throats are slit while they’re still conscious. Sometimes, because they are flailing around, they miss both the bath and the blade, and end up alive in a scalding tank designed to remove feathers. As anyone familiar with animal sanctuary operations will tell you, turkeys are intelligent, social beings who nurture and protect their young and thrive in their natural habitat. Even when they are stressed and confined in “free-range” concentration camps, they have an amazing will to live, as do all sentient beings. In the extremely rare cases where turkeys are raised gently in someone’s backyard, slaughter by any method is intentional killing of the innocent and clearly unnecessary for humans, and is therefore wrong and logically indistinguishable from murder. Instead of practicing the primitive ritual of making the sacrifice of a turkey the focus of Thanksgiving dinner, consider giving thanks for all life by having a vegan thanksgiving. Being vegan inspires a new sense of self-esteem which comes from not contributing to the unnecessary and heartless killing of those who simply want to live their lives, as you do. with Dan Cudahy added by: EthicalVegan

Kate Nash Hypnotizes Crowd At New York City Concert

British singer stomps on keyboard in highly energetic show. By Vaughn T. Schoonmaker Kate Nash (file) Photo: C Brandon/Redferns NEW YORK — Friday night’s Kate Nash concert at Terminal 5 in New York City began with an indoor thunderstorm. Colorful curtains blew around at the back of the stage, and music could be faintly heard playing behind the rumble. As the thunder grew louder, lightening strobe lights covered the room and the star of the night, Nash, ran onstage with her band. Guitar in hand, Nash ignited her show with “I Just Love You More,” from her latest album, My Best Friend Is You . Judging by the deafening volume of the crowd’s screaming, there seemed to be a competition throughout the evening of who loved who more: Nash or her cheerful fans. Keeping it classy in a shiny, blue short skirt over a tight, black bodysuit, Nash still managed to suffer from the pop star’s recurring issue of wardrobe malfunction, leaving the stage three times to fix it up. “This is making me feel like Britney Spears!” Nash blushed after returning to the stage in a black and white replacement dress. In her highly energetic 90-minute set, Nash managed to balance music from My Best Friend with her successful debut album, Made of Bricks . She also managed to balance the various moods that her music tends to explore. In “Kiss That Grrrl,” she growled a warning for her guy to keep his eyes on her. She introduced her “Skeleton Song” by advising, “You don’t have to be hungry to be happy!” In “R n B Side” she taught the mostly American crowd her favorite naughty British word that rhymes with “tanker.” Shifting between her keyboard (which was literally covered in light bulbs) and her guitar stand, Nash demonstrated her multiple musical abilities. She brought out a new dimension when she began to passionately rattle off the intense poem about self image, “Mansion Song.” Despite the dominantly darker context of Nash’s music, the hypnotized crowd’s energy did not falter for a single moment. “Are you afraid of a woman with an opinion?” she asked her crowd skeptically, ” ‘Cause I’m not!” She finished off with her biggest hits, “Foundations” and “Merry Happy,” both about collapsing relationships. She succeeded in making her New York fans “Merry Happy,” as they cheered her out for an encore performance of “Pumpkin Soup.” She finished the song by jumping atop her keyboard and stomping on its keys, still managing to make it sound in tune. New Yorker Maryann Conigliaro smiled as she summed up the rather multidimensional show: “She was very cute and she was very angry.” Related Artists Kate Nash

Sarah Palin Slams Michelle Obama in Racially Charged Passage From New Book

In passages leaked from her forthcoming book America by Heart, Sarah Palin — the erstwhile quitter governor of Alaska, who now, by all indications, fancies herself as President of the United States — has taken another cheap shot at First Lady Michelle Obama. In a passage on perceptions of racial inequality in the United States, Palin slams President Barack Obama, who, she asserts, “seems to believe” that “America — at least America as it currently exists — is a fundamentally unjust and unequal country.” 2010-11-19-americabyheart392x600.jpg And then she goes after Michelle Obama: Certainly his wife expressed this view when she said during the 2008 campaign that she had never felt proud of her country until her husband started winning elections. In retrospect, I guess this shouldn't surprise us, since both of them spent almost two decades in the pews of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright's church listening to his rants against America and white people. The passage — coming on page 26 in a chapter entitled “We, the People” — echoes remarks made by Palin on the eve of the midterm elections, at a rally in San Jose, California, at which point she mocked remarks made by Michelle Obama during the 2008 campaign: “You know, when I hear people say, or had said during the campaign that they've never been proud of America,” Palin spat out. “Haven't they met anybody in uniform yet? I get tears in my eyes when I see that young man, that young woman, walking through the airport in uniform…you too… so proud to be American.” In fact, Michelle Obama's remarks were made (in Madison, Wisconsin, during the 2008 campaign) in a context of Americans being “unified around some basic common issues”: What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something–for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction, and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud. Afterwards, the First Lady further clarified her remarks by noting that she was referencing the “record number” of young voters participating in the political process in the 2008 campaign: For the first time in my lifetime, I am seeing people rolling up their sleeves in way that I haven't seen and really trying to figure this out, and that's the source of pride I was talking about. The passages from Palin's latest book first appeared at Palingates, where several other pages from American by Heart have also been posted. Palin followed up her comments about Michelle Obama by throwing an elbow at U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, also focusing on racial overtones: It also makes sense, then, that the man President Obama made his attorney general, Eric Holder, would call us a “nation of cowards” for failing to come to grips with what he described as the persistence of racism. added by: TimALoftis

Rockefeller Wants Government to Shut Down Fox and MSNBC

Senator Jay Rockefeller, great-grandson of John D. Rockefeller and nephew of David Rockefeller, wants to yank both Fox News and MSNBC off the air. “I hunger for quality news, I’m tired of the right and left,” Rockefeller said. “There is a bug inside of that wants to get the FCC to say to Fox News and MSNBC… out, off,” he said during a hearing on retransmission negotiations between broadcasters and cable providers. “We have journalism that is always ravenous for the next rumor, but insufficiently hungry for the facts that can nourish our democracy.” “I hunger for quality news, I’m tired of the right and left,” Rockefeller said. He failed to mention that both networks are cable television channels and the FCC has little if any regulatory power over their content. Millions of Americans have tuned out the false right-left paradigm of the corporate-dominated news channels in favor of alternative news sources on the internet. For the establishment, this trend is highly disturbing and must be turned back. In March of 2009, Rockefeller said the internet is the “number one national hazard” to national security. “It really almost makes you ask the question would it have been better if we had never invented the internet,” Rockefeller mused during the confirmation hearing of Gary Locke, Barry Obama’s choice for Commerce Secretary. He then cited a dubious figure of three million cyber “attacks” launched against the Department of Defense every day. “Everybody is attacked, anybody can do it. People say, well it’s China and Russia, but there could be some kid in Latvia doing the same thing.” The former Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell and Obama’s current director Admiral Dennis C. Blair, agreed with Rockefeller about the internet and national security. It is not likely the FCC will suddenly move to close down Fox and MSNBC, even if it had the power to do so. Both are prized Operation Mockingbird assets that specialize in disseminating government propaganda and perpetuating “democracy” ruled by bankers and transnational corporations. Jay Rockefeller is apparently concerned with the tenor, not the content of corporate news. As a blue blood, Rockefeller is irritated by the guttersnipe character of what passes for mainstream news in this country. Rockefeller’s comments once again demonstrate the arrogance of “elected officials” who believe they have the power to control large corporations like Government Motors and dictate what sort of news and even entertainment Americans should consume. http://www.infowars.com/rockefeller-wants-government-to-shut-down-fox-and-msnbc/ added by: im1mjrpain

Anyhow, she’s showing off those freckled legs I like so much so I had to post them. Enjoy.

Renee Zellewger may have serious cameltoe, or she’s wearing a diaper, or she just has some serious pussy lips that can’t be tamed because her pussy is as Alien as her fucking face….but whatever is going on, she’s making it clear that not all pussy is created equal…. Sure, we all have different pussy expectations – wants and needs – but I can tell that this pussy is definitely not top notch by any standards..if pussy had a socio-economic standings, it would not be in the Royal Family, or a Rothschild, or a Rockafellar…this pussy would not own banks and run secret societies that control the world economy…it would be homeless on the street convulsing and choking on its own vomit caused by needle sharing hepatitis…It wouldn’t be on the Forbes rich list in the top 3, I’m talking somewhere between Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg…cuz this pussy is not pro, it’s a monster…. But then again it is safe to say that this pussy isn’t pussy at all and that Renee Zellewger doesn’t have serious cameltoe, but that she does have a fucking dick. And the good news is that at least no dude has ever jerked off to her ever…I know this for a fact, meaning this penis revelation doesn’t make any of you as gay as I think you are…. GLOBAL POLITICAL AWAKENING: The History of Health Tyranny: Codex Alimentarius, part 1

http://globalpoliticalawakening.blogspot.com/2010/11/history-of-health-tyranny-c… Contrary to popular belief Codex Alimentarius is neither a law nor a policy. It is in fact a functioning body, a Commission, created by the Food and Agricultural Organization and the World Health Organization under the direction of the United Nations. The confusion in this regard is largely due to statements made by many critics referring to the “implementation” of Codex Alimentarius as if it were legislation waiting to come into effect. A more accurate phrase would be the “implementation of Codex Alimentarius guidelines,” as it would more adequately describe the situation. Codex is merely another tool in the chest of an elite group of individuals whose goal is to create a one world government in which they wield complete control. Power over the food supply is essential in order to achieve this. As will be discussed later, Codex Alimentarius will be “implemented” whenever guidelines are established and national governments begin to arrange their domestic laws in accordance with the standards set by the organization. The existence of Codex Alimentarius as a policy-making body has roots going back over a hundred years. The name itself, Codex Alimentarius, is Latin for “food code”[1] and directly descended from the Codex Alimentarius Austriacus, a set of standards and descriptions of a variety of foods in the Austria-Hungarian Empire between 1897 and 1911.[2] This set of standards was the brainchild of both the food industry and academia and was used by the courts in order to determine food identity in a legal fashion. Even as far back as 1897, nations were being pushed toward harmonization of national laws into an international set of standards that would reduce the “barriers to trade” created by differences in national laws.[3] As the Codex Alimentarius Austriacus gained steam in its localized area, the idea of having a single set of standards for all of Europe began to pick up steam as well. From 1954-1958, Austria successfully pursued the creation of the Codex Alimentarius Europaeus (the European Codex Alimentarius). Almost immediately the UN directed FAO (Food and Agricultural Organization) sprang into action when the FAO Regional Conference for Europe expressed the desire for a global international set of standards for food. The FAO Regional Conference then sent a proposal up the chain of command to the FAO itself with the suggestion to create a joint FAO/WHO programme dealing with food standards. The very next year, the Codex Alimentarius Europeaus adopted a resolution that its work on food standards be taken over by the FAO. In 1961, it was decided by the WHO, Codex Alimentarius Europaeus, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the FAO Conference to create an international food standards programme known as the Codex Alimentarius.[4] In 1963, as a result of the resolutions passed by these organizations two years earlier, Codex Alimentarius was officially created.[5] Although created under the auspices of the FAO and the WHO, there is some controversy regarding individuals who may or may not have participated in the establishment of Codex. Many anti-Codex organizations have asserted that Nazi war criminals, Fritz Ter Meer[6] and Hermann Schmitz[7] in particular, were principal architects of the organization. Because many of these claims are made with only indirect evidence, or no evidence at all, one might be tempted to disregard them at first glance. However, as the allegations gain more and more adherents, Codex has attempted to refute them. In its Frequently Asked Questions section, Codex answers the question, “Is it true that Codex was created by a former war criminal to control the world food supply?”[8] It then goes on to answer the charges by stating: No. It is a false claim. You just need to type the words “Codex Alimentarius” in any search engine and you will find lots of these rumors about Codex. Usually the people spreading them will give no proof but will ask you to send donations or to sign petitions against Codex. Truthful information about Codex is found on the Internet – there is nothing to hide from our side – we are a public institution working in public for the public – we are happy if people want to know more about our work and ask questions. There is an official Codex Contact Point in each member country who will be pleased to answer your questions on Codex.[9] But, as one can see from the statement above, Codex’s response does very little to answer this question beyond simply disagreeing with it. While it is true that many individuals who make this claim provide little evidence for it, the presentation of the information does not necessarily negate its truthfulness. In fact, Codex offers its own website as a source for accurate information about the organization; yet, beyond the FAQ section, there is nothing to be found that is relevant to the “war criminal” allegations. Furthermore, the codexalimentarius.net website is virtually indecipherable, almost to the point of being completely useless. In the end, this response raises more questions than it answers. This is because Codex, if it wanted, could put these rumors to rest by simply posting a list of the individuals and organizations that funded or played an integral role in its creation. However, it does nothing of the sort. Beyond mentioning the FAO and the WHO, we are completely unaware of who or how many other individuals and organizations participated in the creation of Codex Alimentarius.
