Sister Wives Stars March to Legalize Polygamy: We’re Family, Not Felons!

Sister Wives is a quality reality show, full of relationship drama, family drama … just all the drama, really. And the vast, vast majority of that is because of the family's beliefs: namely the belief that polygamy is the way to be. Kody Brown has four wives — Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn — and he has children with each of those wives. He's legally married to Robyn , but he calls the other three his “spiritual wives.” And in Utah, where the family is originally from, that's against the law. That's why all those crazy Browns packed up and moved to Las Vegas a few years ago. If they didn't, they risked being arrested, simply because of the way they choose to live. But this weekend, they went back to Utah. And they went for a fight. See, bigamy has always been illegal, but there's a bill in Utah that makes it illegal not only to have multiple legal wives , but to have multiple spiritual wives. On one hand, it makes sense. Many women and children have been abused and mistreated in polygamist families. But on the other hand, there are families like the Browns. They may be strange, but they're all consenting adults who've made a choice to live a certain way, and should that really be a felony. A local news station in Utah caught Kody at the march, and he was able to outline his issue with the bill. Check out Kody do his thing in the video below:

Kody Brown: This is Why I Accept My Gay Daughter

As has been well documented over the past several weeks, all is not calm, cool or even collected within the Sister Wives universe. There’s a whole lot of in-fighting taking place between the Browns. There was that whole catfishing scandal surrounding Meri, which prompted rumors that she would split from Kody … … which was followed by talk that Kody ad Robyn may be done for good. But while the relationship between Kody and his four better halves may have seen better days, there’s one connection in this reality star’s life that is as strong as ever: The bond between Kody and daughter Mariah. Yes, even in the face of a bombshell dropped by Mariah on last week’s installment of Sister Wives. As you can see below when you watch Sister Wives online , Mariah came out to her family as gay: Watch Sister Wives Season 11 Episode 6 Online Soon afterwards, Mariah took to Twitter and thanked a majority of her fans and followers. “wow okay y’all making me cry with your support. thank you thank you thank you thank you,” she Tweeted last Monday. But we still weren’t sure how Mariah’s famous family members were going to react. On last night’s episode, Kody admitted that he was “in a state of shock processing” everything that Mariah said about her sexuality, which included the following admission: “It’s always been there – it’s always been something I pushed away because I was scared. I think my biggest fear has always been to be gay. “So I didn’t let myself accept it because it was wrong – I was told [by members of the church] that it was wrong and that I would be a bad person.” Said Kody at one point: “We’re not happy Mariah’s gay; we’re happy Mariah knows herself.” He then went into more detail on Twitter. “A surprise to me. Required some deep thought,” Kody wrote of his reaction to the news. “After checking to see if she was sure, I just needed her to know she was safe.” The reality star added that The Big Man Upstairs made acceptance a lot easier. “God has prepared my heart and mind for 15 years. Now @mariahlian can feel safe being openly gay with our family.” Later on in the evening, Kody credited Charles Dickens for helping to open his mind, while also saying it’s sad that some of his “gay friends lose their religion.” He supposedly told one to start his own “church fellowship.” Say what you want about Kody Brown (we certainly have) and his unusual family dynamic. But he appears to have struggled with his daughter’s sexuality, eventually realizing that she’s happy with who she is and that’s all that matters. So some credit must be given to Brown for arriving at that conclusion. Sister Wives Stars Shoot Down Divorce Chatter: Such Lies!

Is it really all over between Kody Brown and Robyn Brown ? It depends on who you ask. Last week, we were among the first outlets to write that Robyn was finally getting out of this unhealthy relationship and filing for divorce from the controversial Sister Wives patriarch. This news didn’t come as a giant shock to those who watch Sister Wives online , considering the dwindling presence of Robyn on the TLC reality series last season. According to Radar Online, Robyn has simply grown tired of her role both on the program and in her marriage and has decided to move on. “She is leaving the first week in January to go back to Utah with the kids and be with her family to figure out the next step in her life,” an anonymous source alleged to that celebrity gossip site. Simple enough, right? Sensible enough on her part, right?  Especially when you consider that Radar also claims that Robyn thinks her children “aren’t being treated well.” But while Robyn has remained silent on this rumor, both Kody Brown and Meri Brown have jumped on Twitter to deny its validity. Strongly. First, there was Meri back on December 19. She wrote that she simply dies of laughter every time she reads a false rumor about her family, stating simply that it’s probably a “lie” if you didn’t hear it from a member of the Browns. Note the word “probably,” of course. This isn’t the most strident denial we’ve ever read. Kody, however, makes a more powerful case in favor of his marriage to Robyn. On December 23, two days after we published the claim that one of his Sister Wives was leaving him, the head of this effed up family responded to a follower who wondered about his marital status. “I can’t handle the heartbreak,” wrote @akwilson, referring to talk of Kody and Robyn splitting up and really needing to get a life if she was serious. In response, Kody included Robyn’s Twitter handle and wrote: “Not true! [Robyn] and I just went to dinner and shopping.” Who knows what to believe at this point. Talk of strife between Kody and Robyn is not exactly knew. Heck, talk of strife between Kody and all of his other halves is not exactly new. It isn’t easy being one of four women and four mothers in the same household. There’s only so much of Kody to go around, and that’s before you even consider that Kody may just suck as a human being. Heck, back in November, the rumor mill didn’t churn around Kody and Robyn. It churned around Kody and Meri , with insiders saying these two were breaking up in light of Meri’s crazy catfishing scandal. Forget the Kardashians. The Browns have been at the center of the tabloid universe for a number of months, as one cover after another has screamed about fights, divorces and everything in between. Remember this Life & Style report? Or this Life & Style allegation? Or this Life & Style bombshell? Hmmm…. okay. We guess it’s really just been one tabloid that has made a recent living off Sister Wives and its many supposed controversies. But still. All does not seem especially well for these TLC stars, does it? Do you think a Kody-Robyn divorce is imminent? Should it be? Should these women get the as far away as possible from this weird situation? Or should they stick it out in the name of ratings, fame and wealth true love? SOUND OFF BELOW!

Sister Wives: Kody and Meri Brown Get HEATED in New Video!

Well, this is uncomfortable. But hey, we're talking about Sister Wives here, what did you expect? Last year, in a time that will surely live on forever in your trashy reality show-loving heart, Meri Brown admitted that she'd gone and gotten herself involved with a catfish . After divorcing her husband, Kody Brown — they were the only ones legally married, so they legally divorced so he could marry Robyn , but they maintained that “spiritual marriage” he has with all the wives — Meri went through a rough time. She began talking to a man, and then went on to have a sort of emotional affair with him, but it turned out that the man was a woman, and it was all very dramatic and unfortunate. But all that happened over a year ago.     Since then, Kody and the other wives, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn, have all been very supportive of Meri, so they're probably definitely back to normal now, right? Wrong. In this sneak peek from Sunday's new episode of Sister Wives, it's obvious that Meri and Kody's relationship is still in a terrible place. Are the rumors that Meri is leaving Kody true?! Check out their sincerely awful fight in the video below:

Sister Wives Shocker: Are ALL The Wives Leaving Kody?!

When we last heard from the Sister Wives, Kody Brown was considering taking on two new wives — gross, right? Kody already has four wives, so you’d think he’d be satisfied, but you’d be wrong. His fourth wife, Robyn, was reportedly so upset about Kody’s desire to add a couple more ladies to the Brown clan that she threatened to leave him . Meanwhile, his other three wives — Meri, Janelle, and Christine, the ones that have been with Kody for years — were kind of “whatever” about it. A former family friend said that Kody wasn’t too concerned about the prospect of Robyn leaving him, as “Kody’s main goal is to keep the series going and to make money. He’s a snake.” But Kody might have a little more cause for concern now. According to a new report, Sister Wives might be canceled. It’s a rumor we’ve heard before, but there’s a new twist. The word now is that while the show could be canceled, a new spinoff could be in the works. A spinoff featuring Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn. Without Kody. How amazing would that be? Really, all Kody adds to the show is his own disgusting brand of douchebaggery. He wouldn’t be missed at all if he was gone from the show — it would actually be a lot easier to watch. Just think about it: we could see the sister wives dating, forming new relationships, ones that hopefully wouldn’t be as sketchy as the “marriages” we see on the show now. The sister wives might finally feel free to badmouth Kody: meaning they might finally be able to tell the truth about him. But while the idea of a new show featuring the wives without Kody is undeniably appealing, the best thing about this development would be that the ladies would finally be away from Kody in their actual lives. He’s been awful to his wives, so awful that Meri actually had an affair. Yes, her affair got twisted as a cautionary tale about catfishing , but the fact remains that Meri thought she was talking to a man, and since her family has the bizarre belief that a man can have multiple wives that each have to remain faithful to that one man, it’s sketchy. Meri was so desperately unhappy with her marriage that she became involved with a stranger on the internet, and that’s sad. It’s also proof that Kody is a manipulative jackass that shouldn’t have one wife, let alone four. So yes, bring on the divorces and the spinoff series and the downfall of Kody Brown. We would welcome those things gladly.

Sister Wives Season 7 Episode 9 Recap: The Vacation Erupts

On Sister Wives Season 7 Episode 9, the Browns’ big Hawaiian vacationed turned out to be MUCH more stressful than anyone anticipated. Who are we kidding, obviously it would be stressful. Watch Sister Wives Season 7 Episode 9 Online Appropriately titled “Hawaiian Vacation Erupts,” Sister Wives Season 7 Episode 9 saw all kinds of ISH hit the fan with Kody and kompany. Fights over parking cars, where to put the beach umbrella, and so on down the line clearly represented much bigger problems overall. Isn’t that typically how it works on vacay? Somewhat ironically, yet entirely logically, the Browns hadn’t stayed together in one house or under the same roof in a long ass time. Hey, when dad has four wives to live with, by definition he’s not around all that much, no matter of he’s the head of the family or not. Nevertheless, Kody Brown wanted all to acknowledge that he is in charge here, no matter what – he’s leading the family and that’s that. Well, except for Maddie Brown planning her wedding. She was basically in charge of that and Kody was his usual apathetic self really. Heck, when Madison told her father that she and Caleb wanted him to marry them, he basically said okay, he’d do it. Nothing emotional. Not surprisingly, she was a little let down. Meanwhile, Kody and Meri attempted to figure out where their romance went wrong, and whether they could get back on the right path. Can they? Did they get anywhere? Follow the links above to watch Sister Wives online and see the drama play out from start to finish for TLC’s favorite polygamous crew.

Richard Simmons: Rushed to Hospital Following "Bizarre" Behavior

Alarming news for Richard Simmons fans. The fitness guru was hospitalized on Friday after exhibiting “bizarre conduct,” reports TMZ. Someone in Simmons’ Hollywood Hills home became concerned when they noticed the odd behavior some time before midnight and called 911. Paramedics rushed to the home, performed a preliminary evaluation and determined he should be taken to the hospital for further analysis. It is unclear whether he still remains in the hospital. The concerning report comes just a few months after Simmons was thought to have been taken hostage by his housekeeper inside the mansion. Simmons had disappeared from the spotlight for an extended period of time and those close to him were concerned. However, after the report hit, he clarified to fans that he was fine and just taking a break from public appearances. “No one should be worried about me,” he reassured fans during a phone interview. “The people that surround me are wonderful people who take great care of me,” he added. “But it was time for me to take some time to be by myself.” Known for his perky personality and unstoppable energy, Simmons shot to fame in the 80s for his weight-loss programs and fitness videos, most notably his Sweatin’ to the Oldies series.  “For the last 40 years I have been traveling, teaching classes, and I had a knee injury, so I had a knee replacement, which was very difficult for me,” Simmons added. “I have really just been taking it easy, staying at home, working out in my gym and doing the things I haven’t done in a very long time.” In 2014, the star reportedly fell into a deep depression following a knee injury and became uncharacteristically reclusive. We will have more as this story develops. UPDATE: Simmons has been released from the hospital, but the cause of his strange behavior is still unclear, according to TMZ. His housekeeper and longtime friend was the one who made the call Friday night. View Slideshow: 18 Totally Bizarre Celebrity Diets

Maddie Brown: Sister Wives Star Marries Caleb Brush!

After a six-month engagement, Sister Wives star Maddie Brown married Caleb Brush over the weekend. Maddie's dad, Kody Brown, officiated the wedding, which took place in Bozeman, Montana. Her mom Janelle, one of Kody's four wives, was also in attendance with the rest of the family. Maddie wore a traditional white strapless wedding gown while Caleb wore khakis. Yes, he wore khakis to his own wedding. “I can cut a rug on a dance floor in khakis better than a monkey suit,” he told Us Weekly. Listen, I could certainly dance more effectively barefoot and in biker shorts, but that doesn't mean it's appropriate for a wedding. But Maddie didn't seem bothered, so no biggie. We saw Maddie announce her engagement on the reality show during its season premiere last month. “I'm pretty excited,” the bride told Us . “It doesn't feel real.” The couple posted the video below to the Sister Wives Facebook page, shot just after the rehearsal dinner. In the vid, they thank fans for support and all the marriage advice. Advice like, perhaps, please oh please don't bring other women into your marriage like your mom and dad did? At this point, it seems Maddie and Caleb don't plan to go that route. “I’m not one to live plural marriage,” she said during a TLC special last November. Apparently, Maddie took one look at the crackpot life of her father with his multiple wives and 17 kids between them and said, NOPE, not for me. Good thing, because a court recently denied Kody's request to decriminalize polygamy in the state of Utah.

Sister Wives Season 5 Episode 14 Recap: Gimme Five (Wives)!

Sister Wives Season 5 Episode 14 saw another nice polygamist family discuss with Kody Brown & Co. the possibility of bringing another wife into the fold. Wow. Wuld the affable patriarch ever he consider such a bold move? Would Sister Wives then have to be renamed My Five Wives Too? Watch Sister Wives Season 5 Episode 14 Online As Sunday’s Sister Wives Season 5 Episode 14 got underway, Kody and Christine continued their long-brewing fight as their final destination approached. Talking for them is easy. Getting to the root of the problem isn’t. Especially when Kody sort of dodges any responsibility for the fight and instead puts the blame on Christine’s PMS, which he says makes women insane. As a man who calls four wives his, you’d think he’d know better. Yes, hormonal shifts are real and can influence moods, but when your wife expresses real disappointment and pain over a decision that you made? Pretty sure that warrants more than a PMS-related dismissal. Even Janelle – sweet, demure, quiet Janelle – couldn’t take this crap anymore and silently but notably walked out while Kody was spewing his nonsense. Hopefully this was all a teachable moment for him in the end. Soon enough, Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn gain some perspective from the Colliers, as we meet Nathan Collier, the head of the household. He has two wives and eight children, three of whom are grown. “I dated them at the same time, courted them at the same time,” Nathan tells the Browns of how their family came together, and he’s not apologizing for it. “We’re not going to hide our family,” Nathan explains of his polygamy. “The people who accept it, that’s great. The people who condemn us, we dismiss it.” “We don’t give them a second thought,” he said. As for courting another wife now, he seems to think it’s time. Kody doing the same? That’s likely to meet a bit more resistance from his wives … right? Follow the link to watch Sister Wives online and see how they respond to that very topic, and whether Kode-Man will be sleeping on the couch tonight. Sister Wives Cast: Through the Years 1. Sister Wives Recap: No Place Like Home

Who says you can’t go home as a polygamist again? This week on TLC’s Sister Wives, Kody Brown and his four wives paid a visit to his hometown (Lovell, Wyoming), which was a pretty big deal for the Brown Bomber and Co. because it was his “first time going back openly as a polygamist.” Think TLC encouraged/forced that field trip at all? Kody was hella nervous, understandably, because when you go in and have the “Scarlet ‘P’ on your shoulder, you just don’t know if people will ostracize you or not.” Most of us will never have that issue, but the sentiment rings true. By and large, they were well received, which was nice. Even if you don’t like what they do, they seen like nice people and are basically harmless, so c’est la vie. A few people even congratulated Robyn on her pregnancy, while their critics basically concurred that these were good people who just had the “wrong idea.” One woman was nervous that people might think that Lovell, Wyoming was the birthplace of polygamy. Not the case, sweetheart, it’s just the birthplace of TLC’s polygamist reality show … so basically the same thing in this era. At a reunion of Kody Brown’s high school friends, which TLC clearly had no role in pulling together, they regaled the wives with stories of their husband in H.S. He liked to be the center of attention, apparently. Says a lot. When you’ve got four adoring wives and 17 kids clamoring for your time and love day in day out, that’s one way to be the focal point of your own little universe. Kody’s best friend Ken had an interesting take on the Browns’ lifestyle: “We feel like he’s got an issue come Judgment day,” he said. “If he goes to hell, so be it.” Pretty much, Ken. Pretty much. Apparently some people thought Kody was “flamboyantly gay” in high school. The reason for that theory was that he wore “tight pants” and he “flipped” his hair. It turns out he was just ahead of his time, though, trying to be fashionable as a man. In this day and age, we would merely term him … well, something else. We never really got the gay vibe from the Kode-man, but the four wives will certainly dispel that notion fast. How much more straight can a guy be, right?! He marries women and fathers their kids left and right! Speaking of which, Kody and Robyn plan to name their son Solomon. That sounds like a nice name. Thoughts on this installment of Sister Wives? How do you think Kody’s trip home went? Do you like the name Solomon? Vote in our poll and comment below! What do you think of Kody Brown and Sister Wives?
