Instead of using her check only for jewelry, cars or other luxury items, Michelle is dropping a bag on land ownership for her son Chase. According to a Instagram post she made on Wednesday, Michelle opened up a bank account for Chase and purchased him some land. In the caption for her post, Michelle wrote: “Starting off my new year opening up Chase’s bank account and buying him land. LAND is what our ancestors fought for we have to buy more land and less chains and shit. He is the only thing I’ve worked hard for is HIM and my family. The perfect way to start 2019.” It seems Jigga isn’t the only one thinking about “Legacy” and wealth. Money phone rappers take note.

Source: iOne Digital, The Rewind / IOne Digital Video It’s a wrap! 2018 was an outstanding year but it’s coming to a close so it’s only right that we revisit and review some monumental moments in our New Year edition of Global Grind’s The Rewind with DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius. Every week we revisit some of the pop culture trends, movies, viral moments and music from the week before and give our hot takes. Our experts Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise share their opinions, sprinkle in some facts and then when it’s all over and done with, provide a rating of 1 to 10. We listen to the songs, watch the movies, scour the internet, and do the hard work so you don’t have to. The final The Rewind episode of the year will be wrapping up iconic moments from previous episodes. First, DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius take us back to October 5th when they discussed Logic’s nearly 8 minute track, “Wu-Tang Forever” which appeared on Logic’s YSIV project and featured Cappadonna, Masta Killa, U-God, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Method Man, GZA, RZA, and every other living member of the Wu you can think of. Franchise and Landon also discussed Cardi B, specifically her latest single “Money”, which Franchise was not feeling. However, Landon loves it and makes a note that Cardi B is clearly here to stay. Then we take a trip back to November 9th where Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise discuss Takeoff’s solo LP, “The Last Rocket”, which dropped on November 2nd. DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius being the super hip hop heads they are had got a lot to say. Landon actually enjoys the fact that Takeoff didn’t mumble rap for the entire album, citing that “The Martian”, the album’s first track, was his favorite. While Landon, being the Southerner that he is, was rocking with Takeoff’s solo effort, DJ Franchise was not feeling it one bit. The words “sucked” and “garbage” were thrown around a few times, actually. The pair also discussed “The Meg” in this episode, which was released on DVD on November 13th. This is just a tip of what we discussed on The Rewind this year. There’s so much more to catch up on. Press play on episode 23 above and get your final fix of The Rewind for 2018. We’ll see you next year!
Source: C Flanigan/Getty Images / Getty Demi Lovato Tells Public To Back Off And Let Her Heal Demi Lovato is still getting back on her feet after her brush with death via narcotic overdose earlier this year. The songstress was hospitalized over a rumored heroin overdose, however, she nor her people would ever confirm what drug it actually was that sent her to the edge. Now, after a lengthy stint in rehab , Demi is back in LA and readjusting to life as a sober woman in the regular world. However, she wants her fans to know that whatever they’re hearing about her overdose and her recovery that HASN’T come from her own mouth, is BS. She also says that when she’s ready to tell her own story, she’ll do that. Until then, she needs to be left alone and allowed to heal. I love my fans, and hate tabloids. Don’t believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 I love my fans, and hate tabloids. Don’t believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 If I feel like the world needs to know something, I will tell them MYSELF. Otherwise people stop writing about my recovery, because it’s no one’s business but mine. I am sober and grateful to be alive and taking care of ME — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today.. but until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up shit that you know nothing about. I still need space and time to heal.. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 Any “source” out there that is willing to talk and sell stories to blogs and tabloids about my life isn’t actually a part of my life because most of the shit I see is soooooo inaccurate. So newsflash: your “sources” are wrong. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 Of course, the people she had in her life were also supporting her addiction and let her get to a place where a near-death overdose was possible…but Demi seems sure that those same folks she keeps around her couldn’t possibly be selling BS stories to tabloids behind her back. But we digress. I would love to set the record straight on all the rumors out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to. All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support. — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 I’m so blessed I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready. I have my fans to thank for that. I’m so grateful, truly. I love you guys so fucking much thank you — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) December 22, 2018 It looks like Demi is dedicated to staying on track. But do you think it’s realistic for her to expect people not to be curious about her near-destructive incident? C Flanigan/Getty Images/Twitter

Source: The Rewind / Global Grind Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a joyful New Year, it’s time for a special Christmas edition of Global Grind’s The Rewind with DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius. So let’s get started, shall we? This week DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius do a deep dive into Jennifer Lopez’s new movie, Second Act , which hit theaters on December 21, 2018 and is directed by Peter Segal. The film is about Jennifer’s character, Maya Vargas, who is a Value Shop assistant manager and desperately wants a promotion for her 43rd birthday. With the help of her friend Zoe, played by Vanessa Hudgens, Maya Vargas enhances her less than stellar resume to match her street smarts and reinvents her life and her life-story for the job of her dreams. The film got a 57% on Rotten Tomatoes and The New York Times said that “Jennifer Lopez Deserves Better” but what does Global Grind think? Franchise and Landon dig into the movie and surprisingly when it comes to J. Lo’s acting, they’re actually impressed by her skill. As far as her ability to act and portray a homely, minimum wage worker turned high level exec, Jennifer Lopez was able to execute the role flawlessly. DJ Franchise had a few things about the film that he wasn’t in love with. One of which was what he called the “Disney fee”, which you likely will get from most romantic comedies. He also feels that the film would have been even better if Jenny was actually from the block. Otherwise, according to our resident bully DJ Franchise, Second Act wasn’t half bad. Our two in house critics give their own review and drop a rating. Should you see Second Act ? Hit play and we’ll let you know. Then, Franchise and Landon share their favorite all time holiday movie classics. Some are a little more “Christmasy” than others and at one point it gets a little awkward. Check out episode 22 of The Rewind above!
Source: Prince Williams / Getty Famous Dex’s Team Reportedly Worried About His Health We all saw the video of Famous Dex randomly nodding off on his Instagram Story. Though he’d like everyone to believe he was just tired, the internet is pretty convinced he has a drug problem. According to TMZ , fans aren’t the only ones who are concerned with the rapper’s health. “His camp is working overtime to help the kid kick drugs,” the site states. TMZ has learned the Chicago rapper passing out in the middle of his live stream earlier this week was just the latest troubling sign that he’s got a drug problem. We’ve been told Dex abuses opioids… Sources say Dex was upset by the video of himself passing out and expressed a desire of never wanting to see himself like that again. The problem … he’s tried getting treatment, but always circles back to drugs. Apparently, Dex has someone with him most times to make sure he is still coherent, alive and well. …we’ve learned there’s someone who is always by Dex’s side for the sole purpose of making sure he’s coherent enough to do his job. We’re also being told that, at times, there’s even someone who sleeps in the same bed to make sure he’s okay. His team is actively working to get him the help he needs. In case you missed it, the rapper was playing music for his followers during a live stream on IG, when he started to lean forward and suddenly fell asleep. Not even the heat from his blunt touching his hand woke him up. Responding to the viral clip , Dex later claimed that he knows himself so nothing really needed to be explained, then explaining that he’s “a human being,” he’d been working overnight, and didn’t get home until 4 a.m. before he decided to “go live” on the ‘gram. Are you buying his story?

Source: Michele Sheedy / Getty Judge Orders Man To Watch Bambi In Jail This is a true case of “the punishment must fit the crime.” A Missouri poacher by the name of David Berry Jr. will have to watch Disney’s Bambi at least once a month in jail after he was found guilty of illegally killing hundreds of deer. Huffington Post reports: The Springfield News-Leader reports that David Berry Jr. was ordered to watch the Walt Disney movie at least once each month during his year-long jail sentence in what conservation agents are calling one of the largest deer poaching cases in state history. Prosecutors say the deer were killed for their heads, with their bodies left to rot. Berry was convicted in southwest Missouri’s Lawrence County of illegally taking wildlife. Three relatives and another man also were caught in connection to the poaching case. They’ve paid $51,000 in fines and court costs. According to the site, Berry has also spent time in jail for a firearms probation violation. If you’ve never seen Bambi, it’s a heartwarming movie about a young deer who explores his home in the forest with his friends—a skunk named Flower and a rabbit named Thumper. Ironically, on his journey to becoming an adult he finds love in another deer named Faline, but also learns all about the dangerous of hunters.
