Should Fergie Judge The X Factor?

The X Factor carousel has stopped spinning on Fergie. At this exact moment, at least. This member of The Black Eyed Peas is reportedly the latest big name under consideration by Simon Cowell and company , as sources tell Life & Style “there have been some conversations” between the singer and producers, but: “It’s in the early stages.” Other possibilities for the judging panel – which we know will include Cowell and L.A. Reid – reportedly include Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Britney Spears. George Clooney’s girlfriend, Stacey Keibler, is supposedly a candidate for one of the two hosting gigs available. If nothing else, the massive layoffs of Steve Jones, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul have certainly kept The X Factor in the news.

Janet Jackson Says ‘X Factor’ Gig ‘Just Wouldn’t Be Possible’

Singer said she’s unable to join Simon Cowell’s show due to scheduling conflicts. By Gil Kaufman Janet Jackson Photo: Jason LaVeris/ FilmMagic Scratch Janet Jackson off the list. Among the many divas who’ve been whispered about
as possible replacements for Nicole Scherzinger on “The X Factor,” Ms. Jackson seemed like the most intriguing. The soft-spoken star has plenty of experience on TV — including starring roles as a teenager in “Good Times,” “Diff’rent Strokes” and “Fame” — but taking a seat next to Simon Cowell for the second season of his singing show just isn’t in the stars. After weeks of rampant speculation, Jackson told The Insider that she’s taking her hat out of the ring due to scheduling conflicts. Cowell said that he had his eye on two women to replace Scherzinger and his reality TV bestie, Paula Abdul,
as he seeks to retool the show after a less-than-spectacular first season. The speculation mill has spun out the names of everyone from Jackson to Britney Spears, Pink, Mariah Carey and even the late Whitney Houston. While Cowell has not discussed Jackson publicly, he did squash rumors that Beyonc

What’s Next for Paula Abdul?

She’s currently among the nation’s unemployed, but Paula Abdul says that won’t remain the case for long. “I will definitely be returning to television,” the ousted X Factor judge told reporters this week while promoting FemBody Nutrition, a line of nutritional supplements available at GNC. “I am in the middle of many network meetings, and I’m being pitched a whole bunch of different ideas.” Abdul says she has no hard feelings toward Simon Cowell, or anyone in general. The former Los Angeles Lakers Girl and hit singer appears to be in a positive place, saying: “Right now life is good, and I never worry about reinvention. I think it’s the most exciting thing to do.” Fair enough. But let’s plan Paula’s future for her, shall we? What do you think should be her next professional move?

Is Janet Jackson Lined Up To Judge X-Factor?

Read the original:

Perhaps Simon Cowell fired Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger to clear his budget? No official confirmation yet, but there’s a lot of talk that Janet “Miss Jackson” (if you’re nasty) will be in the judge’s seat for the next season of X-Factor. Janet Jackson has hinted she could be a judge on the next season of ‘The X Factor’. The ‘Rhythm Nation’ singer was left tongue-tied during an appearance on chat show ‘Anderson Cooper 360′, when the grey haired host asked her if she was going to be joining Simon Cowell on the all-new panel. Seemingly revealing she’d been in discussions with the show boss, Janet , 45, stumbled over words before saying, “oh my God” and laughing. She eventually answered: “No, I’m not a judge on ‘The X Factor’. “ SOURCE

Simon Cowell Squashes Beyonce, Mariah Carey ‘X Factor’ Rumors

Judge also takes shot at ‘The Voice,’ asking, ‘How many artists have they discovered?’ By John Mitchell Simon Cowell Photo: FOX Simon Cowell is finally opening up about the cast shakeups on “The X Factor” as well as about rumors that two very famous divas are in talks to join Fox’s reality singing competition. Late last month, it was announced that judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones had been fired from “X Factor” and would be replaced in its second season. The announcement came as a shock to fans, but Cowell tells “Extra” in an interview airing Wednesday (February 8) that the decision was a long time coming and was ultimately made “at the beginning of the year — and we were told it had to happen straight away.” While her dismissal came as a surprise, Cowell says Abdul “was very gracious” about it. “She understands it’s business,” Cowell said of his real-life friend. “It’s never personal.” Scherzinger, according to Cowell, was “disappointed” with the producers’ decision to replace her. But the former Pussycat Doll insisted in a new “Access Hollywood” interview that she “had a wonderful experience on the show.” “What happened? Well, all I know is that I gave 110 percent to that show,” she said. “I know everybody’s talking about it, they’re saying good, bad, they love me or hate me, but the one thing you can’t say is that I didn’t give it my all.” Cowell also used his time with “Extra” to squash rumors that Beyonc

Kim Kardashian, Ashton Kutcher and Christina Aguilera praise Queen of Pop’s halftime performance. By James Dinh Madonna performs at Super Bowl XLVI Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic Madonna does everything big, and her Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday night (February 5) was no exception. From her elaborate staging, wave of synchronized dancers and surprise onstage guests, the Queen of Pop has all kind of stars, including Kim Kardashian and Ashton Kutcher, abuzz — and probably singing along, too. Taking to Twitter to dish about Madge’s over-the-top medley of songs, Kardashian kept her praise short and sweet: “Madonna is EVERYTHING! She looks soooo good!” she wrote. Kutcher was another fan of the pop titan’s high-energy performance as he confessed, “#fact Madonna is crushing it!” Not only did Ryan Seacrest find a liking to Madonna’s set, but also her surprise performers. “Loved the madonna performance, i think she nailed it. Great job by @LMFAO, @NickiMinaj, @CeeloGreen too,” he tweeted. With the season premiere of “The Voice” scheduled for right after Sunday’s big game, Christina Aguilera also showed support for her fellow co-star, tweeting, “@CeeLoGreen you killed it with Madonna at half time!” Love for Madonna’s show was also spread to another Kardashian sister, as Kourtney wrote, “Nobody is better than Madonna. She was perfection. Like a Prayer was my favorite part. Did everyone LOVE it as much as I did?” Despite his remarks on the singer’s backing track, Perez Hilton was extremely impressed by the superstar’s “Like a Player” finale, writing, “Wow. That ‘Like A Prayer’ finale was one of the best things #Madonna has EVER done! Soooo epic!!!” Paula Abdul was full of compliments, calling the pop performer’s halftime show “brilliant.” “I was dancing &singing along w/ @CeeLoGreen #Madonna Like A Prayer was AWESOME!” she wrote. “Well played #Superbowl WELL PLAYED-amazing #HalfTime show!” Age proved nothing but a number to the rest of the Twitter-verse when “Madonna is 53” became a trending topic shortly after she wrapped up her performance. Paula Abdul Speaks Out About ‘X Factor’ Exit

Abdul confirms news in statement and says ‘business decisions often times override personal considerations.’ By Kara Warner Paula Abdul Photo: Mark Davis/ Gety Images We’ve only had a few hours to digest the three very surprising exits from “X Factor” that were announced Monday, and we’re still scratching our heads at what happened over at Fox to make such drastic changes to the singing competition . For many fans, the biggest shock was Simon Cowell and company’s letting go of original “American Idol” diva and delightfully unpredictable judge Paula Abdul, who has since released a statement about her departure. “Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to The X Factor next season,” Abdul said in a statement. “I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations. Simon and I, along with Fox and Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation. Simon is, and will remain a dear friend of mine and I’ve treasured my experience working this past season with my extended family at Fox and Fremantle. I want nothing more than for The X Factor to exceed ALL of their wildest dreams. This truly has been a blessing and I am most grateful.” Although they have not released official statements as of yet, we expect to hear from the other two ousted “X Factor” folks, Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones , sometime soon. The former Pussycat Doll and “Dancing With the Stars” champ will reportedly turn her attention back to her music career, while Abdul and Jones will be looking for their next big things. As far as we know, L.A. Reid will continue to work alongside Cowell on the judging panel. There has been no word yet from Fox on who might replace Abdul, Scherzinger and Jones, or when season two will premiere. What do you think Paula Abdul should do after “X Factor”? Fellow mentor Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones are also out; a source tells Deadline ‘none of the three left on their own accord.’ By Kara Warner Paula Abdul Photo: Mark Davis/ Gety Images For any “X Factor” fans who are thinking season two of the Simon Cowell-created singing competition will be business as usual, think again, because Monday (January 30) marked a veritable bloodletting of the show’s key talent and judging panel. In addition to the losses of mentor Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones , original “American Idol” diva and delightfully unpredictable judge Paula Abdul will also not be returning to the program. A source close to Cowell told Deadline.com that all three personalities were asked to leave the show. “None of the three left on their own accord,” Deadline editor Nikki Finke wrote of what her insider source told her of the mass exodus. “It was cleaning house day at the so-so rated show.” Despite their frequent onscreen bickering and banter, Cowell spoke highly of Abdul when it was announced that she would be joining him on “X Factor.” “I missed her the second she left [‘Idol’],” Cowell told Deadline last year. “Always loved working with her even though she can be a pain. I don’t know what it is about her, but I’ve always clicked with her. You just have to get that chemistry, and she’s right. I’ve never found anyone better than her.” Former Pussycat Doll and “Dancing With the Stars” champ Scherzinger was also sent packing, although a source close to Scherzinger told E! News that she left the show to focus on her music career. “She’s spoken to Simon [Cowell], and he’s given her his blessing,” the insider told E! Scherzinger often became emotional during elimination episodes, shedding tears and expressing sympathy for ousted contestants. As for inaugural “X Factor” host Jones, the cheeky Welshman broke the news himself via Twitter on Monday. “I won’t be hosting next seasons X Factor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time,” Jones tweeted to his more than 94,000 followers. “Good luck to everyone on the show.” Jones had decidedly big shoes to fill stepping into the gig, with comparisons instantly made to “American Idol” host/ media mogul Ryan Seacrest. Throughout the season, the reviews of Jones’ hosting skills were decidedly mixed. As far as we know, L.A. Reid will continue to work alongside Cowell on the judging panel. There has been no word yet from Fox on who might replace Abdul, Scherzinger and Jones, or when season two will premiere. Who do you think should join “X Factor”? Share your ideas in the comments!
