5 Takeaways From Andrew Gillum’s Masterful Debate Dismantling Of Ron DeSantis

See more here:

Source: Pool / Getty T he race to be Florida’s next governor became that much clearer after the first debate between candidates Sunday night. Democratic nominee Andrew Gillum decidedly out-dueled his Republican opponent Ron DeSantis , showing that the Tallahassee mayor had a major advantage on multiple fronts weeks ahead of Election Day next month. DeSantis, a former congressman who left office under a shroud of controversy, has routinely resorted to racist rhetoric during this contentious campaign. And while much of that type of talk was absent from the debate, it became increasingly and painfully obvious that he was not qualified for any elected office, let alone the governorship of Florida. As a result, there were five distinct takeaways from the one-sided debate that needed to be emphasized. 1. Gillum is head and shoulders above DeSantis when it comes to the issues. From the start of the debate, Gillum was all about policy and issues, punctuating his political knowledge with a quip about how he would be “a governor that believes in science,” a slick reference to DeSantis denying the proof behind climate change. Democrat Andrew Gillum on how to deal with industries hurting the environment: “We are going to hold them accountable because this is our air, our water, our beaches, our oceans and there is not a profit margin in this state big enough to take control of that.” #FLGovDebate pic.twitter.com/IrUcjZ1HkT — CNN Politics (@CNNPolitics) October 22, 2018 Gillum said he was incredulous that DeSantis was against solar energy, especially considering how Florida is known as the “Sunshine State.” The Tallahassee mayor also showed his masterful knowledge on taxes and Medicaid , two other issues important to Florida voters. Andrew Gillum roasts the Florida GOP’s climate change denial: “What Florida voters need to know is that when they elect me governor they’re gonna have a governor who believes in science, which we haven’t had for quite some time in this state.” #FLGovDebate pic.twitter.com/IxEHsOS1Uw — Adam Best (@adamcbest) October 22, 2018 2. DeSantis is extremely disrespectful. The former congressman who resigned in April in part because of a House ethics complaint against him repeatedly cut off Gillum’s well-articulated debate responses while continuously calling Gillum by his first name. Moderator Jake Tapper announced the two had only met in person moments before the debate began, making it even more noticeable how DeSantis called Gillum “Andrew” while Gillum called DeSantis by more respectful terms, such as “congressman” or “my opponent.” It is notable that @AndrewGillum calls @RepDeSantis “Congressman” and DeSantis calls him “Andrew.” Gillum is still Mayor of Tallahassee, and DeSantis is not even a Congressman anymore. It is clear what his word choice implies. — Jamil Smith (@JamilSmith) October 22, 2018 Ron DeSantis calling Andrew Gillum by his first name feels a lot like him trying to call him “boy.” — Clint Smith (@ClintSmithIII) October 22, 2018 Adding insult to injury, DeSantis ducked accusations of racism despite his rhetoric revealing the opposite and repeatedly lied about Gillum’s record, including an embellished and disproven report about Tallahassee’s murder rate. 3. Jake Tapper did a horrible job moderating. The CNN anchor kept cutting off Gillum during his responses while seemingly ignoring how DeSantis made a habit of going well over his 70-second allotted time for his own responses. @jaketapper quit cutting Gillum off. — kimmiesue (@Kimzjourney) October 22, 2018 Damn, @jaketapper ’s bias is showing so clearly in this debate. He’s giving DeSantis more time, let’s him ignore the question and sits silently as DeSantis continuously interrupts Gillum. This debate should put to rest the idea that Tapper is fair and balanced. — A Little Royal (@alittlebitroyal) October 22, 2018 I could be wrong here but it seems like Tapper is giving DeSantis more time and rudely interrupting Gillum more. And I think Gillum is wiping the floor with DeSantis! — Janni Rae (@JanShar44080635) October 22, 2018 To top it off, Tapper didn’t ask a handful of questions that Florida voters may have wanted to hear, including the contentious topic of the state’s Stand Your Ground law , which has come under renewed scrutiny lately and seemingly gives white gun owners a get out of jail free card for shooting Black people in Florida. 4. DeSantis is a Trump loyalist through and through. He blindly lent his loyalty to the president and even said Donald Trump was a role model for kids. Gillum offered the perfect response. This was the moment of the debate for me: @AndrewGillum gives the PERFECT reaction to DeSantis' weird answer about Trump being a role model for kids. Perfect. And hilarious. #FLGovDebate pic.twitter.com/wP608iIxIA — Tommy Christopher (@tommyxtopher) October 22, 2018 5. This campaign isn’t even a contest. Gillum showed he and DeSantis are not operating on an even level in any capacity, but especially politically and intellectually. The Tallahassee mayor outshined him on every topic that came up and showed himself to be a more personable and likable candidate. In addition, Gillum was and has been polling ahead of DeSantis. But, of course, as the entire country knows from 2016, polling means little to nothing until the Election Day results are tallied. Gillum got me sending him money for his campaign and I live in the North East. He's winning this debate and he will win the election. Now monkey that up DeSantis as you're spluttering all over the place. Gillum clearly has you rattled! #FLGovDebate pic.twitter.com/aLpSIQFLai — Dipped in Chocolate (@nativenuyorker_) October 22, 2018 All the more reason to go vote on Nov. 6. 5 Takeaways From Andrew Gillum’s Masterful Debate Dismantling Of Ron DeSantis

Emmy Rossum with the Deep Pussy Stretch of the Day

I don’t like Emmy Rossum. There’s something about her that I find really fucking annoying. I get that she gets naked on a show, and has been getting naked on a show, since that show started and really saved her life from being a really obscure and ignored celebrity…. She’s 32 now, that show’s been on the air for 9 years, so back at 23…seeing her naked was a lot more interesting…it has only been progressively downhill, as nature has told us for generations and generations…but she’s trying to keep it up, this last season for her, because she wants to be paid as much as William H Macy, an actual actor with a career before Shameless, as these egotistical fucks do….I mean she wasn’t in Fargo, Magnolia, or any of the other shows William H Macy was in…she just rode the success of this show thanks to him being on it and 9 years later doesn’t get seniority, assumes she’s more valuable than she is, and is walking….it’s pretty fucking rude, obnoxious, turning her back on those who made you like a whining rich kid…which she is. So while she tries to stay hot, working out, deep pussy stretches, you can just look at her old nude scenes, when she wasn’t a mid 30s piece of rich entitled shit, when she was trying so hard to make it…even getting naked on TV like a sex worker…because actors and sex workers aren’t far off…. India Eisley Naked of the Day

India Eisley is a 24 year old actress from Los Angeles, where actors are usually from… Her dad a Glam Rocker…her grandfather an actor on an ABC Show…her mother Olivia Hussey an actress who before marrying this one’s dad was married to Dean Martin’s son…she was also in the Original IT….and is the voice on some Star Wars videogames…so I wonder how India got to this point in her career…tits out from a movie…being featured on this highly reputable site….I am sure from raw talent and struggle…and not from family friends… India, since this isn’t a post about her parents or their cultural appropriation names…like they were that bitch in the US Politics who is less than 1 percent native, but claiming to be native, you know that kind of cultural appropriation….was in a movie called The Secret Life of the American Teenager, that in one episode shouted out “Jesus Martinez”…which is my name and I assumed was about me because I was told it was about me…even though nothing is about me…. What I am trying to get at, but the voices in my head are distracting me, is that she’s naked in movies, which is how I like all actresses to be, the direction they need to take, the way we can jerk off to them…nudity is in, it’s now, it’s current, it’s great. Keep up the good feminism!!! JOIN THE NEWSLETTER YOU ASSHOLES! The post India Eisley Naked of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

Taylor Swift’s Hotness Wins The AMAs

Last night, Taylor Swift definitely won the best dressed at the AMAs. I don’t think anyone even came close to something as special as that outfit. Even though she pissed off half her fans with her politics, I’m sure even the most right wing male had his pants down.

Kellyanne Conway Reveals She’s A Victim Of Sexual Assault While Defending Brett Kavanaugh [Video]

Paul Morigi/Getty Images for Fortune Kellyanne Conway Reveals She’s Been Sexually Assaulted Kellyanne Conway made a jaw-dropping revelation Sunday while on CNN. The White House counselor was a guest on  CNN’s “State of the Union” and brought up her own history of sexual assault while defending Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. “I feel very empathetic for victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment and rape. I’m a victim of sexual assault,” said Conway. “But you have to be responsible for your own conduct.” She also argued that the Kavanaugh hearings were not a “meeting of the Me Too movement.” “Let’s not compare Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby, and a few others, to what’s happened here,” she said. “If we’re going to have a national conversation, stop judging the victims and perpetrators according to their politics.” She also clapped back at people wondering how she can possibly work for Trump whose been accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct. “People on Twitter and elsewhere are saying right now, ‘oh how can she work for Donald Trump?’ I work for President Trump because he’s so good to the woman who work for him,” she said. “I don’t want to hear it from anybody.” Sure thing, sis. . @KellyannePolls to @jaketapper : “I'm a victim of sexual assault.” #CNNSOTU pic.twitter.com/ZQcmnFIicQ — State of the Union (@CNNSotu) September 30, 2018 What do YOU think about Kellyanne’s revelation?

Andrew Gillum’s Support Extends Well Beyond The Black Community, Poll Shows

T allahassee Democratic Mayor Andrew Gillum , the first Black major party nominee for Florida governor, has strong support for his candidacy outside the state’s African-American communities, according to a new poll. See Also: Here’s What Polls Are Showing About Black Candidates In Key Races A Quinnipiac University survey released on Wednesday showed Gillum with a strong lead among women, Independent and Hispanic voters over his Trump-backed rival Ron DeSantis , WTVJ-TV , an NBC News affiliate, reported. Gillum had a 59 percent to 39 percent lead among women voters. With Independents, the mayor led DeSantis 56 percent to 40 percent, and he garnered 59 percent of the Hispanic vote. Meanwhile, 98 percent of Black voters said they planned to cast their ballot for Gillum. Latest Quinnipiac Poll Has Andrew Gillum With Nearly Double Digit Lead in Race for Florida Governor: https://t.co/xzhwytVZ3R — NBC 6 South Florida (@nbc6) September 26, 2018 Overall, Gillum had a nearly double-digit lead over his GOP opponent: 54 percent to 45 percent. This appears to be the biggest lead in the polls since Gillum won an amazing come-from-behind primary victory in August. Previously, a Reuters–Ipsos–UVA Center for Politics poll published Sept. 19 gave the Black candidate a 6-point lead over DeSantis. Indeed, his poll numbers have increased each week. A Real Clear Politics average of several polls  (covering Aug. 29 through Sept. 20) showed Gillum with an average lead of roughly 4 percentage points. Gillum selected a white running mate for lieutenant governor who brings a surprising asset to the ticket: the support of Black leaders in a key region of the state. Orlando-area businessman Chris King  developed relationships with Black ministers and activists in Central Florida during his run for governor in the 2018 primaries against Gillum. DeSantis, who resigned from Congress on Sept. 10 to focus on the election, came under fire for a racist remark about Gillum less than 24 hours after winning the GOP nomination. He urged voters not to “ monkey this up ” by voting for the Black candidate. He’s also been in the spotlight over his deep connections to white supremacists . Deborah Ramirez: Second Woman Accuses Brett Kavanaugh of Sexual Misconduct

Deborah Ramirez, a former Yale classmate of Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh, has come out and accused the embattled judge of sexual misconduct. She’s the second woman in about a week to have done so. In an explosive article penned by Ronan Farrow (the reporter who exposed allegedly heinous sex-related crimes by Harvey Weinstein and Les Moonves) and investigative journalist Jane Mayer, Ramirez says Kavanaugh exposed his penis to her during a party their freshman year of college. The 53-year old admits to having been very drunk at this dorm gathering, but that Kavanaugh “caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away.” She says he then laughed at the incident, which allegedly took place at some point in 1983 or 1984. Farrow and Mayer write that Ramirez was initially hesitant to come forward due to “gaps in her memory” as a result of the alcohol consumption that night. However… “After six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney, Ramirez said that she felt confident enough of her recollections to say that she remembers Kavanaugh had exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party, thrust his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away.” This is what Ramirez says about what transpired: “I wasn’t going to touch a penis until I was married [because] I was raised a devout Catholic in Connecticut… I was embarrassed and ashamed and humiliated.” Describing her memory of Kavanaugh’s act and subequent reaction, Ramirez told the magazine: “I can still see his face, and his hips coming forward, like when you pull up your pants.” The aspiring Supreme Court Justice, who is currently scheduled to testify in from of Senators on Thursday morning in response to an attempted rape allegation by Christine Blasey Ford , has issued the following statement: This alleged event from 35 years ago did not happen. The people who knew me then know that this did not happen, and have said so. This is a smear, plain and simple. I look forward to testifying on Thursday about the truth, and defending my good name — and the reputation for character and integrity I have spent a lifetime building — against these last-minute allegations . And then there’s this from White House spokesperson Kerri Kupec: This 35-year-old, uncorroborated claim is the latest in a coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats designed to tear down a good man. This claim is denied by all who were said to be present and is wholly inconsistent with what many women and men who knew Judge Kavanaugh at the time in college say. The White House stands firmly behind Judge Kavanaugh . Sources say President Donald Trump has no intention on asking Kavanaugh to withdraw his name from consideration, while Senator Diane Feinstein has called for a delay of all hearings and testimonies until the FBI can investigate both allegations of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh. According to The New Yorker article, “Senior Republican staffers also learned of the allegation last week and, in conversations with The New Yorker, expressed concern about its potential impact on Kavanaugh’s nomination. “Soon after, Senate Republicans issued renewed calls to accelerate the timing of a committee vote.” A roommate of Kavanaugh’s in college tells the publication that he may not have been present at this Yale party in question — but that he is “100 percent” sure that Kavanaugh would have done something like this during his time at Yale. The judge was part of a fraternity (Delta Kappa Epsilon)back then that whose members waved a flag made of women’s underwear around campus during his time as a brother. The Yale Daily News has also noted that Kavanaugh became a member of Truth and Courage, one of Yale’s secret societies for seniors that was nicknamed “Tit and Clit.” In 2015, referring to his high school, he said in a speech that “what happens at Georgetown Prep stays at Georgetown Prep and that’s been a good thing for all of us, I think.” This may not be the case after all, however. “I would think an FBI investigation would be warranted,” Ramirez told The New Yorker of her claims. Ford has also encouraged the FBI to look into her allegations against Kavanaugh. Neither Republican Senators nor President Trump have given the agency a green light to do so, however.

Gillum, Tallahassee’s mayor, had support from 50 percent of likely voters, compared to 44 percent who said they planned to vote for his rival. The remaining percentage of voters said they support a different candidate or did not indicate support for any candidate. This is one of the largest leads for Gillum, who would become Florida’s first Black governor if he’s elected. A RealClearPolitics average of polls  shows Gillum with a lead of roughly 4 percentage points. A poll, taken by the Democratic polling firm Public Policy Polling days after Gillum’s amazing come-from-behind primary win, gave him a 5-point lead. DeSantis, a U.S. congressman, came under fire for a racist remark about Gillum, less than 24 hours after winning the GOP nomination. Ellison appeared not to be seriously harmed by an allegation of domestic abuse from his ex-girlfriend Karen Monahan . In a Sept. 10 to Sept. 12 poll, conducted a week before Monahan posted a medical document online that she said supports her claim, 57 percent of participants said they didn’t know what to think about the abuse allegations. Here’s What Polls Are Showing About Black Candidates In Key Races

Snoop Dogg: F–k Donald Trump and F–k Kanye West!!!

Rapper and gift to humanity Snoop Dogg has laid into Donald Trump before, verbally excoriating the man for his behavior and politics. Now, Snoop is doubling down on that, and also giving Trump’s supporters a piece of his mind. Snoop is singling out one Trump supporter in particular: Kanye West. In an appearance on DJ Suss One’s SiriusXM, Snoop Dogg did not mince words. Not when he spoke about Donald Trump, and not when he spoke about Trump’s fans and supporters. “F–k you,” Snoop said to address any Trump supporters who might be listening. “And,” Snoop continued. “F–k him.” While many Americans may share that sentiment in one form or another, not everyone is willing to be so blunt. Snoop made it clear that his ire extends to his fellow celebrities. Snoop added: “Kanye, too.” “Don’t forget about him too,” Snoop repeated. “F–k you too!” As we mentioned, Snoop has excoriated Kanye for his bizarre support for Donald Trump in the past. Now, Snoop is doubling down on it. “Throw him in the bag too,” Snoop said in reference to Kanye. “Because he’s right there with the motherf–kers.” Most of us vividly remember Kanye’s multiple declarations of support for Donald Trump. Earlier this year, Kanye had what many assumed was a mental breakdown, and began tweeting things that made little to no sense to his millions of followers. “We are both dragon energy,” Kanye said of Trump. “He is my brother.” The man who had declared in 2005 that George W. Bush had no compassion for black people or their well being seemed to have shifted his own priorities. But Snoop had his own theory for why Kanye was seeing orange. Snoop Dogg says that Kanye West needs a black woman to set him straight and to talk sense into him. He says that Kim Kardashian humors Kanye too much when she should be influencing him to be a better, less self-sabotaging person. Snoop believes that, were Kanye’s late mother still among the living, Kanye would not have said and done the stupid things that have become a huge part of his brand for the past decade. That means that Kanye would have voted in 2016 and would never have voiced or felt support for Trump. Still, others say that perhaps Snoop is just making excuses for Kanye, just like the people who are saying that Kanye is mentally ill. Maybe Kanye isn’t mentally ill and maybe he isn’t lost without a black woman in his life. Maybe he’s just … bad. And it sounds like Snoop may have come to that conclusion, because he is no longer suggesting things that Kanye needs. A simple “f–k you” may be what Kanye deserves — at least, that seems to be how Snoop feels. Unlike many people, who walk on eggshells while discussing Trump’s supporters but are perfectly blunt when discussing Trump, Snoop isn’t making allowances for “economic anxiety.” If you support Trump, Snoop has made it very clear where you stand in his eyes.
