Ariana Grande Releases "Thank U, Next" Music Video and You HAVE to See It!

Stop what you're doing right this very instant. Seriously, whatever it is that you're doing, just leave it, because there is no way it is more important than this. Because Ariana Grande has just dropped her music video for “Thank U, Next.” And it is more important than literally everything. Or, OK, no, that's not right. Obviously some things are more important, though we can't name anything specifically right at this moment. But if you're browing around the web and you found yourself here, in this space, then this is the only thing that matters. It's just … this music video is so good? It barely even makes sense how good it is, honestly. See, she took a few different iconic teen movies like Mean Girls, Bring It On, and Legally Blonde and then put her own spin on it. Remember in Mean Girls when different high school students talked about Regina George and all the wild things she's done? In Ariana's video, we have people like YouTuber Miranda Sings saying “One time on Twitter, I heard Ariana was pregnant, so I got pregnant so we can be pregnant at the same time.” Jonathan Bennett, the actor who played Lindsay Lohan's love interest, Aaron Samuels in the movie, said “Ariana Grande told me my hair looked sexy pushed back. She's not wrong.” In a reference to the Pete Davidson engagement , another person said “Ariana broke off an engagement, so I found a guy to propose to me and I broke off an engagement.” So it's all just these nostalgic scenes from these beloved movies spliced in with Ariana and gossip and drama from her real life. How can you not love it?! Next we see Ariana lying on a bed, making a burn book, just like the characters from Mean Girls. She has pages in the book devoted to her exes — except for Mac Miller. It's not in the video, but she revealed on Twitter that his photo is in a frame by her bed for this scene. On Big Sean's page, we can see that she wrote “so cute” and “so sweet,” and what kind of looks like “could still get it,” which is hilarious. For Ricky Alvarez, she wrote “great dancer,” “good times man” and “friends forever,” which is very sweet. Interestingly enough, on Pete's page she put “I love u always,” “HUUUUUUUUGE,” and “sry I dipped.” After that, we see Ariana and friends up on a stage doing that classic “Jingle Bell Rock” dance — you remember the one. But you know in Mean Girls when Regina's mom, played by Amy Poehler, filmed the whole thing from the audience? THAT ROLE IS PLAYED BY KRIS JENNER. Did we mention how good this video is? For the second verse, Ariana moved on to Bring It On, complete with a cheerleading routine, and then she threw in a little 13 Going on 30, too. And for the bridge, this whole big, beautiful Legally Blonde scene happened, including an actual scene with Jennifer Coolidge, the actress who played Elle Woods' nail tech pal in the movie. “But wait,” you may be wondering, “if she did Legally Blonde, was there a cute little dog in a sweater? Did she bend and snap?” You know there was, and you know she did. Really, this whole video is just amazing, and it's more than we deserve. But hey, that's Ariana Grande for you , right? Watch the video in all of its glory below:

Bristol Palin Sends Prayers to Alaska in Wake of Devastating Earthquake

Bristol Palin has taken a break from slamming her ex-husband in order to send a message of support to everyone in Alaska. On Friday morning, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake his Palin’s native state of Alaska, damaging highways, shaking buildings and focusing its power about eight miles north of Anchorage, the most populous city in the region. Governor Bill Walker issued a disaster declaration in response, while the Anchorage Police Department said the following in an official statement: “There is major infrastructure damage across Anchorage. Many homes and buildings are damaged. Many roads and bridges are closed.” As of this writing, no deaths have been reported. Thank goodness. Bristol, of course, hails from Wasilla, Alaska. However, she lives in Austin, Texas and was not around her friends, family members or loved ones up north when this natural diaster struck. But Palin says she was with them in spirit. And they are very much on her mind at the moment. “Just sick I’m not in Alaska to help my family and friends with the aftermath of the massive earthquake they had this morning, sending all the prayers to everyone affected,” she wrote on social media shortly after news of the incident went public. The Palin family resident is about 44 miles northeast of Anchorage and the compound was damaged during the earthquake. Such damage was confirmed by Bristol’s famous mother, former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. “Our family is intact – house is not… I imagine that’s the case for many, many others,” the former Alaska Governor wrote via Twitter, adding: “So thankful to be safe; praying for our state following the earthquake.” Elsewhere, Bristol’s younger sister, Willow, was left in shock and in pretty bad shape after the sort of frightening experience you must deal with first hand to fully comprehend. “Our house is a mess but our family is safe, very shook up! That was the scariest couple minutes of my life,” she wrote to followers. Bristol was out of the spotlight for many years, but has now joined the cast of Teen Mom OG on MTV. Not only had she joined it, but Palin has been at the forefront of nearly every episode, as viewers have watched her marriage to Dakota Meyer fall apart before their very eyes. It’s been pretty ugly, to be honest. “When you get rid of the cancer in your life, you can go live,” Meyer actually said recently about splitting from Bristol. Ouch, right? But now isn’t the time to relitigate the issues that faced this couple. Now is the time to join in with the thoughts and prayers being sent to the residents of Alaska. We’re thinking of you guys. George H.W. Bush Dies; Former President Was 94

George Herbert Walker Bush, the 41st president of the United States and the father of ex-Commander-in-Chief George W. Bush, died on Friday night. He was 94 years old. The sad news was confirmed yesterday by spokesperson Jim McGrath. “George Herbert Walker Bush, World War II naval aviator, Texas oil pioneer, and 41st President of the United States of America, died on November 30, 2018. “He was 94 and is survived by his five children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two siblings,” the former president’s office said in a statement. Concluded this message: “He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Barbara; his second child Pauline “Robin” Bush; and his brothers Prescott and William or “Bucky” Bush.” Bush, a Republican who held the Oval Office for one term, was hospitalized back in April , just one day after laying his beloved wife to rest. He had contracted an infection at the time, but it’s too early right now to know the President’s cause of death. Son George W. spoke on behalf of his siblings with a statement of his own shortly after his father died on Friday.  It reads as follows: Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died. George H. W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens. Funeral details will be announced in the coming days, McGrath also noted. On Twitter, meanwhile, President Trump wrote the following: “President George H.W. Bush led a long, successful and beautiful life.  “Whenever I was with him I saw his absolute joy for life and true pride in his family. His accomplishments were great from beginning to end. “He was a truly wonderful man and will be missed by all!” He and wife Melania also released a lengthy statement that we have included below: Prior to his time as the most powerful man in the world, the Massachusetts native served as an aviator in the Navy and flew 58 combat missions during World War II. He was awarded three Air Medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Bush then served as Vice President for eight years to Ronald Reagan. He was a congressman, ambassador to China and director of central intelligence, receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2011. The former President’s death comes just eight months after his wife of 73 years, Barbara, died on April 17. Even after her passing, Bush remained devoted to his late wife, sitting beside her casket for hours in his wheelchair as mourners paid their respects while she lay in repose one day before her invitation-only funeral. The photos of his tribute made their way around the Internet at the time. Bush’s grandchildren affectionately nicknamed him “Gampy,” and Bush Hager has said on The Today Show that her grandfather “really is one of the most humble, wonderful men.” We send our condolences to his loved ones. May George H.W. Bush rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam

Really?!? Black Army Vet Killed By Police Was NOT Actual Gunman In Birmingham Mall Shooting

Source: South_agency / Getty Birmingham Police Killed Innocent Army Vet In Mall Shooting We’re really sick and tired of cops shooting first and asking questions last . That strategy usually seems to leave a bloody Black body behind, often times an innocent one. Many of you are aware of the shooting that took place following a fight on Thanksgiving day inside a Birmingham, Alabama shopping mail where an 18-year-old boy was shot twice and a 12-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet. Police responded and gunned down the man they believed to be the shooter. Well, according to DailyMail, that man, 21-year-old Army vet and son-of-a-cop, Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford Jr., was not the shooter as local police have now announced. The police revealed new video evidence showing that Bradford may have been attempting to break up the fight between the 18-year-old and another man, but he did not do the shooting. pic.twitter.com/uTZSrua1On — Hoover Police Dept (@HooverPD) November 24, 2018 That said, police say Bradford was running away from them while brandishing a gun and that’s their justification for killing him. You can rest assured that the NRA won’t insert their “good guys with guns” narrative into this story. I knew him and worked with him. He was an amazing and sweet guy. My heart aches for his family. He was shot and murdered on site in cold blood. He was exercising his 2A rights, but since he was black, became a threat to the white Hoover PD. — StaceFace (@Halcyon83) November 24, 2018 Hoover PD is super aggressive. I wish I could say I'm surprised. Where is the NRA's outrage? Or does the good guy with a gun thing only apply to whites too? We have innocent citizens being murdered by police in our streets and public places – what happened to American justice? — Jelly Robbins (@RobbinsJelly) November 24, 2018 Suffice to say, the community is angry. If everyone else in the mall was pulling out their guns how they knew who the shooter was and how we know the shooter shot that girl ? Police could have did it in the cross fire. They got a mess in Hoover — Jas Mon'Vogue (@JassyBravo) November 24, 2018 I’ve known Ej Bradford since middle school! Bruh ain’t had a bad trait about him. All he did was put laughter into people. Always kept a smile on his face every single time I saw him. He always kept it G. He was murdered wrongly and Hoover police need to admit it and come clean. — oogway

No Business As Usual: 15 People Are Arrested Demanding Georgia “Count Every Vote” In Gubernatorial Race

Photo By Raymond Boyd/Getty Images A State Senator Is Amongst Those Arrested On Tuesday, 15 people were arrested during a protest at Georgia’s Capitol building in Atlanta, according to NBC News . The protesters were demanding that the uncounted ballots from last week’s gubernatorial race be tallied. Democrat Stacey Abrams is going against Republican  Brian Kemp for governor and the race is still too close to call. So far, Kemp holds a lead over Abrams of less than 58,000 votes as of Tuesday. Demonstrators on Tuesday were chanting to “count every vote,” according to law enforcement. Georgia State Patrol told NBC News that the demonstrators were arrested for unlawfully disrupting “orderly conduct of official business” at the state capital building. Amongst the people arrested on Tuesday was Sen. Nikema Williams , who was additionally charged with misdemeanor obstruction of justice. State patrol said that the protestors were taken to the Fulton County Jail. Williams spoke about her arrest to The Washington Post . She said she was apprehended “because I refused to leave the floor of this building where I’m a state senator.” She went on to say that the protest was peaceful. Protestors have set up a bail fund site for anyone who wants to donate to the cause. The race between Abrams and Kemp comes a week after Election Day as Georgia officials continue to tally uncounted ballots in the race. Earlier Tuesday, a federal judge ordered Georgia to guard against the improper rejection of provisional ballots and to hold off until Friday to confirm the state’s election results. Abrams is hoping to narrow Kemp’s lead so that a mandatory recount or a runoff can happen. State law requires a candidate has more than 50 percent of the vote in order to win outright. Kemp currently has 50.3 percent of the overall vote. Meanwhile, Abrams has not conceded the race, despite pressure from Kemp who has already declared victory.

Taylor Swift: Mocked by Pundits, Comedians for Failed Political Endorsement

Taylor Swift shocked most of the free world several weeks ago when she came out of the woods and threw her support behind a pair of Democratic political candidates in Tennessee. In a heartfelt and lengthy Instagram post, the singer endorsed Jim Cooper for House of Representatives in her native state and Phil Bredesen for Senate. How did her preferred nominees do? Well… Cooper defeated Jody Bell by a whopping 35 points in what was clearly a not very competitive race. But Bredesen failed to help Democrats gain a majority over Republicans in the Senate. He lost by about 14 points to Marsha Blackburn. Oh well, right? You can’t win ’em all and the important thing is that Swift used her platform for something she believes in, prompting an enormous surge in voter registration by doing so . Nope, sorry. That wasn’t the important thing according to at least one Conservative pundit out there. Fox News host Laura Ingraham took to Twitter after Bredsen’s failed bid to rub his loss in the face of the pop star, something totally normal and mature for her to do. “Hey @taylorswift13, haters gonna hate. #shakeitoff,” Ingraham wrote following the election results. Ingraham has a history of going after young singer, as she previously labeled Ariana Grande as spoiled and entitled . In this case, however, she wasn’t the only famous person to cite Swift’s endorsement in her summary of the midterm elections. Stephen Colbert also poked fun at the Tennessee Senator outcome during his live episode of The Late Show. “I guess Tay-Tay didn’t have that much sway-sway, and Blackburn’s support for the Trump administray-stray eventually outweighed-weigh the president’s support for higher teacher pay-pay at the end of the day-day,” he joked. He poorly joked, we should add. After failing to offer her support for Hillary Clinton in 2016, and after remaining silent for years on basically all social issues, Swift took social media followers by surprise exactly one month ago. “In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now,” she wrote at the outset of her unexpected endorsement at the time. She continued: “I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. “I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent.” What issues did Taylor have with eventual winner Blackburn? “She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. “She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. “These are not MY Tennessee values.” In the end, Swift’s message earned her mockery from Donald Trump and a few others out there. But we hope she was not dismayed from getting more involved in the future. She has a very powerful voice. It would be a shame if she chose not to use it. Travis Scott Speaks at Beto O’Rourke Rally: Watch!

Years ago, we would never have expected to say this, but … Kylie Jenner makes better relationship decisions than her sister Kim. Beto O'Rourke's campaign for Senate has attracted national attention, in part because he is looking to unseat Ted Cruz. As you'll see in the video we've included, Travis Scott returned to his hometown to support O'Rourke's campaign. On Sunday, October 28, Travis Scott appeared at the Bayland Park Community Center in his hometown of Houston, Texas. He was there to drum up support for Beto O'Rourke. “You just need to go out, hit these polls …” Travis encouraged the crowd while speaking with a microphone. “We need to just tell our peers, man,” he continued. “To like step out and vote.” Travis assured those who had gathered: “We can change the world.” Travis is from Houston. In fact, his family still lives there. Famously, he and Kylie were spotted in Houston after news of her pregnancy broke, as he introduced her to his family. Kylie's baby daddy was not the only celebrity who was there to promote O'Rourke. NFL player Arian Foster, another Houston native, was there to drum up support. O'Rourke tweeted a photo, writing: “Houston's @trvisXX and @ArianFoster! Big thanks to both” There is often a narrative that celebrity endorsements are a form of outside influence. (This is a narrative pushed by the political Right, whose celebrity endorsements tend to be rarer and much stranger) O'Rourke's campaign side-stepped this issue by being endorsed by Houston's native sons while in the city itself. A Texan, celebrity or not, supporting a candidate in Texas is the furthest thing from “outside influence.” If elected, O'Rourke will be part of the face that Texas shows to the world. Beto O'Rourke was instantly likeable to many because he is running against Ted Cruz. Dislike of Cruz is not a partisan issue — it is one thing that united Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. O'Rourke gained national attention when the GOP tweeted a photo of him from years ago when he was in a band. This was a huge misfire by political strategists, who hoped to show Beto as a young musician and not a serious politician. Instead, people around the country just noticed that O'Rourke was both cool and hot. That's O'Rourke on the left. People who have never set foot in Texas in their lives saw this photo had had sex dreams about him. But we have a sneaking suspicion that sex appeal is not why Travis Scott is endorsing the guy. Instead, Travis Scott wants a better country for himself and his family than the one that we currently inhabit. Violence, bigotry, and vitriol fill the news every week. This has to be particularly concerning to Travis because he is now the father of an almost-nine-month-old child. Travis wants a better future for Stormi. A couple of years ago, when Kylie was dating Tyga, we would never have imagined that we'd be praising her partner. Instead, look at Kim's marriage to a MAGA-hat-wearing impulsive man-child who won't listen to anyone. Kanye is embarrassing his loved ones with his antics. Even Caitlyn Jenner admits that Trump sucks . Travis Scott seems to have a good head on his shoulders and to be a good person. Sometimes, people find it difficult to feel optimistic about midterm elections. The answer is to vote, whether you feel enthusiastic about it or not. Do your part to make the world a better place.
