Moments after the FBI posted pictures of actual suspects – not the rumored Boston bombing suspects reported earlier today – the agency’s website crashed. It’s unclear if either of these alleged suspects are the same individuals turned up by the Internet-led Reddit and 4Chan Think Tank suspect -finding boards. The images were released hours after President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama attended a service at a Roman Catholic cathedral in Boston. Amid the day of mourning was the frenzied, ongoing investigation. The man Deslauriers called Suspect One at the press conference this afternoon is seen wearing a dark hat, while Suspect Two is wearing a white hat. Deslaurier said Suspect Two is believed to have set a backpack down in front of the Forum restaurant along the marathon route near Copley Square. Deslauriers said the two men appeared to be walking together along Boylston Street in the vicinity of the explosions, and are considered suspects. “We know the public will play a critical role in identifying and locating these individuals. Italian newspaper La Repubblica reports that gay Vatican prelates were being blackmailed by people with knowledge of their network, which met and had sexual encounters in “a villa outside the Italian capital, a sauna in a Rome suburb, a beauty parlour in the centre, and a former university residence that was in use by a provincial Italian archbishop.” The network was supposedly detailed in a 300-page report to the Pope put together by three cardinals who were looking into the “Vatileaks” affair, a series of Papal dispatches which were stolen and leaked by Pope Benedict’s butler last May. The report was given to the Pope on the same day he reportedly decided to resign. The cardinals found that “various lobbies within the Holy See were consistently breaking” the sixth and seventh commandments (no adultery, no stealing), and were influencing the Vatican. Pope Benedict alluded to the affair in his Ash Wednesday homily, when he railed against vague internal “divisions.” Let’s pray the successor has not only more intellectual competence but will also have greater moral fiber. A defrocked Roman Catholic priest who admitted molesting more than 20 children in California has been sentenced to three years in prison in Ireland for possessing child pornography, court officials said Tuesday. Oliver O’Grady, 66, was arrested in Dublin in December 2010 after leaving a computer containing pornographic images of children on a flight from Amsterdam. O’Grady worked in northern California from 1971 until 1993, when he was arrested for abusing two brothers. He served seven years in prison and was deported to his native Ireland in 2000. He later moved to the Netherlands for several years. O’Grady was the subject of the Academy Award-nominated 2006 documentary “Deliver Us From Evil.” In the film he spoke openly of abusing more than 20 children as he was shuffled from one parish to another in California through the 1970s and 80s. The Dutch Catholic Church came under fire in 2010 after it emerged that O’Grady had been working as a church volunteer in the city of Rotterdam. O’Grady had been living in the country under another name, but parishioners recognized him when “Deliver Us from Evil” was aired on Dutch television. By that time, the disgraced ex-cleric had already left the country. O’Grady had pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing child pornography. These shady guys ain’t sh*t: Two Roman Catholic school workers from New Jersey have pleaded not guilty to charges of having sex with female students during a high school’s class trip to Germany. Thirty-one-year-old Artur Sopel was vice president of operations at Paramus Catholic High School, and 27-year-old Michael Sumulikoski was a substitute teacher and assistant football coach until they were suspended last month. Sumulikoski is accused of having sex with one female student on the February trip. Sopel is accused of engaging in sexual activities with two female students in Germany and having sex with another female student in 2010. Both are charged with sexual assault, child endangerment and hindering apprehension. Sumulikoski’s lawyer told The Record newspaper he’s investigating whether New Jersey has jurisdiction over acts that allegedly occurred in Germany. Authorities have not released the girls’ ages. SMH.
