Marc Jacobs Responds To Appropriation ‘Nonsense’ — “You Don’t Criticize Women Of Color For STRAIGHTENING Their Hair!”

Marc Jacobs Responds To Cultural Appropriation Criticism Marc Jacobs caught quite a bit of controversy over using faux locs on his white models in this season’s show. But of course, rather than lend an open mind and a concerned ear to the concerns of people of color or those familiar with the terrain of cultural appropriation …Marc decided to instead do a classic act of white people white peopling, and basically tell brown people to quit their whining and stop ‘stealing’ white folks’ straight hair if they feel such a way about it — before half-azzedly backtracking and saying he didn’t mean to offend anyone. SMH. The point he’s missing here is that society ROUTINELY tells Black people our hair is dirty , messy, “ghetto” and unprofessional, then turns around to use it for fun and call it “cool” and “edgy” when placed on fairer tones. But clearly Marc doesn’t care, as long as he can use it to push his fashions. Splash/WENN/AKM-GSI

That’s It?!? LA Cop Who Brutally Beat Girlfriend And Set Her Hair On Fire Sentenced To Six Months In Jail

LA Cop Who Beat Girlfriend And Set Her Hair On Fire Sentenced To Six Months In Jail An ex Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy was sentenced to one year in jail this week for brutally beating his girlfriend and setting her hair on fire according to ABC 7 News : The Orange County District Attorney wanted Alejandro Flores to serve his time in state prison, but the judge overruled the request, sparking outrage from the victim. While the formal sentence was for one year, Flores is expected to spend only six months in jail under state sentencing guidelines. The 34-year-old stood emotionless as he listened to his son’s mother speak about the violence. “He pushed me against the stove yelling, ‘Is this what you want?’ At that point, he turned on the gas burner, setting the my hair on fire,” said the victim, who did not want to be identified. As she read her victim-impact statement, she urged the judge to issue a stiffer sentence. “Alejandro chose a career in law enforcement to protect and serve. Apparently, that doesn’t cross to his personal life and the sentence confirms it,” she told the courtroom. The victim said there had been violence before, all of which occurred in front of their young son. Flores pleaded guilty to nine felony counts, including using a gun to threaten his then girlfriend not to leave after the violence. The victim said her close encounter with death that day gave her strength to leave and report abuse. WTF?!?!

White Privilege? Shady Stanford Judge To Sentence Latino Immigrant 3 Years For Similar Crime As Brock Turner

Judge Persky To Sentence Latino Immigrant More Prison Time Than Brock Turner For Similar Sexaul Assault C’mon now! If THIS isn’t a tell-tale sign that this judge and the criminal justice system is completely f***ed then we don’t know what is! Via TheGuardian The embattled judge in the Stanford sexual assault trial is presiding over a similar case in which a Latino man is facing a much harsher sentence than Brock Turner, raising questions about how the former student may have benefited from his privileged background. Raul Ramirez, a 32-year-old immigrant from El Salvador who admitted to sexually assaulting his female roommate in a case that has similarities with the Stanford case, will be sentenced to three years in state prison under a deal overseen by judge Aaron Persky, according to records obtained by the Guardian. The three-year-prison sentence, part of a plea agreement signed in March, provides a sharp contrast to the outcome for Turner, a white 20-year-old former Stanford swimmer who Persky sentenced to probation and six months in county jail after he was convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. Here’s how Mr. Ramirez’s got himself in trouble… Ramirez was arrested at his home in Santa Clara County in November 2014 after his roommate called 911 to say that he had sexually assaulted her, according to police reports. Ramirez gave the woman a “love letter” and later entered her bedroom and fingered her for about five to 10 minutes against her will, according to a police report, and stopped only when she started crying. When police arrived, he admitted to the assault. “Ramirez knew what he did was wrong and he wanted to say sorry,” one officer wrote. Ramirez, who has used a Spanish interpreter in court, had his bail set at $200,000 – significantly higher than the $150,000 bail set for Turner. Gotta get this judge TF outta here. GOT. TO. Joe Giudice: Headed to Rehab Before Prison?

As you may already know,  Joe Giudice has a bit of a drinking problem . In fact, Juicy Joe loves the juice so much that he’s admitted his boozing may have led to some of the poor decisions that now have him facing a 41-month prison sentence .  In an odd twist, however, the same addiction that’s got Joe headed for the clink may lead to his sentence being delayed. According to Radar Online Giudice might be headed to rehab , despite the fact that he’s scheduled to turn himself in to authorities next month. “He was always home. He wasn’t driving. But he drinks a lot. He’s gonna get into, God willing, the right alcohol program,” Teresa said in a recent interview. Many felt that the sudden concern about Joe’s alcoholism was part of an effort to get his sentence pushed back.  If that was the case, it appears the Giudices have now given up on that long shot campaign and have resigned themselves to the fact that Joe will most likely be seeking treatment from behind prison walls. “I want him to do a program; let’s just leave it at that,” Teresa recently clarified while speaking with People magazine. She also stated that Joe’s boozing never interfered with his duties as a husband or father, and she’s merely concerned that he’s putting his health at risk: “He’s not abusive or anything, thank God, but he drinks every day,” Teresa said. “That’s not good. It’s not good for your liver.” So Joe cheats on Teresa and generally acts like a lazy a-hole all the time, but it’s not because of his drinking. Teresa Giudice Prison Details Revealed: What Was Her Last Pre-Slammer Meal, and Why Might Joe Giudice NOT Be Allowed to Visit?!

Early this morning, Teresa Giudice reported to prison to begin her 15 months as a resident of Danbury Correctional Institution in Connecticut. We already know that Teresa will be “targeted” by other inmates as a result of her fame, but now we’re beginning to receive more details about the disgraced reality star’s final hours as a free woman, as well as what her life will be like behind bars. Around 2 am Monday morning (just over an hour before she turned herself in to authorities), Teresa was spotted at Elmer’s Diner in Danbury, enjoying an egg sandwich as her last non-prison meal. Witnesses say she looked surprisingly upbeat, and spent most of the meal on her phone, saying goodbye to family and friends. She was joined by her husband, and hopefully they made the most of their time together, because sources say Joe might be forbidden from visiting Teresa for the entirety of her sentence: “There is a good chance that Teresa and Joe will not even be able to see each other while they are serving their time, because you are not allowed visits from anyone who has been convicted of a felony,” says former convict Jody Gibson. Joe of course, pled guilty to the same fraud charges for which Teresa is now doing time. Joe’s 41-month sentence will begin after Teresa is released.  In addition to the bad news, Gibson has some important advice for Teresa: “There are certain rules that she will quickly learn,” Gibson says. “For example, if she is not up on her hygiene, the other girls will complain and they will get everyone to gang up on her.” “Even though Teresa is a strong woman, she must learn to get through her sentence by not accepting favors, not making any friends, and not making promises to anyone.” Should be easy enough. If you watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online , then you already know Teresa is highly skilled at not making friends. Good luck in there, T! 11 Teresa Giudice GIFs That Should Worry Her Fellow Inmates 1. Table Flipping Fiend Teresa Giudice is not gonna take any crap. Her table-flipping reputation will precede her in prison, thanks to The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 1.

True Or False? Did Peter Thomas Get Popped By ATL Police For Apollo-Affiliated Crime??

Is Apollo STILL snitching from behind bars?? Peter Thomas Rumored To Be Under Arrest In Atlanta The Real Husbands of ATL are having a little bit of a rough year. Right on the heels of Apollo’s incarceration on various fraud charges , buzz hit the blog circuit earlier today that Cynthia Bailey’s husband Peter Thomas had also been hauled off by cops. The story states that Apollo struck a last-minute deal on his way to the clink, and staying true to his snitch nature , wore a wire while having a conversation with Peter about their illegal business dealings. The takedown of his RHOA castmate could stand to cut his sentence time and get him back out to the strip clubs of ATL in a shorter time-span. It’s also rumored to be a major plot point of the upcoming season, so there’s high drama about the set-up and the subsequent arrest while Bravo cameras roll. But not so fast…no mugshot, no police docs, and no photos of peter being hauled off by cops? Sounds a bit fishy riiiiiiight? Well as it turns out, Peter himself had a few thoughts to share on his latest legal issues. Peep what he had to say about his “arrest” after the jump… Prince Williams / ATLPics
