Suge Knight has NOT been arrested for the unsolved 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur, despite what recent Twitter rumors would have you believe. The ex-Death Row honcho’s crime record includes prison stints for drug possession, assault and probation violations over the last quarter century. It does not, however, include a recent murder accusation. Tupac was signed to Knight’s label when he was gunned down in a Las Vegas drive-by in 1996, a murder that has never led to an arrest … possibly because Shakur is not really dead , at least according to conspiracy theorists. Spokeswoman Laura Meltzer of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, which allegedly arrested Knight, spoke to E! about the rumor: “I don’t have any information that [ Suge Knight was arrested ]. We picked him up on traffic warrants in February … that is the last arrest I show for him.” Indeed, Knight was busted February 10 for drug possession during a routine traffic stop. Give it a month or two and there will be something else. Although Knight was never a police suspect in Shakur’s murder, he was driving the vehicle Shakur was killed in, resulting in long-held speculation. Suge, a notorious, hard-ass criminal, is believed by many to have ordered the hit(s) on Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., whose murder is also unsolved. Knight also fueled the fire recently by saying Tupac might be alive . In other Tupac news, a hologram resurrected him at Coachella last month. Check that out below if you missed it … Tupac Coachella Performance What do you think: Is 2Pac dead?

Two new posthumous songs take aim at Dr. Dre, Nas, Mobb Deep, De La Soul and others. By Rob Markman Tupac Photo: Chi Modu Tupac Shakur ‘s rigorous recording habits ensured that the late rapper would continue to make a musical impact, even in the afterlife. Since his death in 1996, fans have been treated to albums worth of posthumous ‘Pac records, but the two records that leaked onto the Internet late Tuesday night are sure to cause a stir. A far cry from Shakur’s uplifting tunes like “Changes” and ” ‘Til the End of Time,” the two new tracks, “NY 87” and an alternate version of the little-known “Watch Yo Mouth,” take aim at East Coast rap artists like the Notorious B.I.G., Diddy, Mobb Deep, Nas, De La Soul and former ‘Pac ally Dr. Dre. Both songs appear to have been recorded circa 1996, when ‘Pac was in a feud with Diddy’s Bad Boy record label and various other New York artists, including the Notorious B.I.G. It was around this time when Shakur recorded and released his two most famous dis tracks “Hit ‘Em Up” and “Against All Odds” from his The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory album, which he recorded under the alias Makaveli. While “Watch Yo Mouth” is being touted as a new track, the song popped up online over two years ago. The version that was leaked this week has an alternate beat behind it, but the words remain the same. On it, the fiery Shakur begins with a barrage of Dr. Dre insults: “He ain’t made a beat in six years, swear he the sh–/ Won’t get no record sales suckin’ Nas’ di–.” Nasty Nas also gets thrown under the bus as ‘Pac compares the two rappers’ record sales. De La Soul, Wendy Williams, Diddy and the Notorious B.I.G. all get ridiculed. Even in his lyrical tirade, the rapper attempts to downplay the much-hyped East Coast/ West Coast beef of the mid-1990s by chanting, “For my n—as on the east side” throughout the song. “NY 87,” however, is a different story. Featuring raps by Tha Dogg pound (Daz and Kurupt) and Threat, the bass-heavy dis track starts with a monologue from DJ Quik declaring, “Them n—–s on the East is the enemy.” Though the track is being labeled on the Net as a ‘Pac track, it is Tha Dogg Pound who are prominently featured. Appearing only on the last verse, ‘Pac doesn’t name-check any artists, but he does spit, “Move mother—-ers ’til they feel me/ It’s West Coast n—a, f— New York, now did everybody hear me?” As of now it is unknown who released these tracks and why. The timing comes a little more than one week after Dexter Isaacs spoke to AllHipHop.com about his involvement in the 1994 robbery and non-fatal shooting of Shakur and after the hip-hop community celebrated what would’ve been Tupac’s 40th birthday on June 16. Many have speculated that the feud between Tupac and Biggie is what led to the deaths of both rappers. Those rumors have never been confirmed. What do you think of these two posthumous Tupac songs? Tell us in the comments. Related Artists Tupac Notorious B.I.G.

‘Afeni Shakur she was loving the song,’ Meek Mill tells MTV News after performing ‘Tupac Back’ with Ross. By Rob Markman Meek Mill and Rick Ross perform at Tupac’s 40th birthday party Photo: Dennis Byron Tupac’s spirit lived on Thursday night at the Atlanta Symphony Hall, as family, friends and fans celebrated him on what would have been the late rapper/actor’s 40th birthday . Rick Ross, Erykah Badu, Bun B, 8Ball & MJG and comedian Mike Epps all attended the event, raising money for the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, which helps students develop their skills in the creative arts. The crowd stood and applauded when Epps, host of the event, presented ‘Pac’s mother, Afeni, with a $10,000 donation, The Associated Press reported. Ross then took the stage with his new Maybach Music signee Meek Mill to perform their homage-paying single “Tupac Back.” Not only did the crowd approve but Meek told MTV News he noticed the reaction of one special partygoer in particular. “I was just representing for Tupac and we performed it out here in front of his mom. His mom was loving it; Afeni Shakur she was loving the song,” he said backstage after the show. Mill admitted that he expected to draw some criticism for comparing himself to the revered Shakur on “Tupac Back,” but said he first found inspiration to rap in Shakur’s rebellious attitude. “I knew it was going to be a lot of talk behind it, people sayin’, like, me thinkin’ I’m Tupac or whatever, but we represent the same thing,” the Philly rapper said. ” ‘Pac, he don’t care what he say, he gonna give you rawness, and that’s what I always felt. That’s the biggest message he gave to me: always give out rawness and the things you want to say, say it.” The party was held a day after AllHipHop.com obtained a letter from Dexter Isaac claiming to be involved in the 1994 robbery and shooting of Shakur at Quad Studios in Manhattan. ‘Pac, who was shot five times in that incident, survived, but began serving a prison sentence for a sexual assault charge in February 1995. On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot in Las Vegas and died in the hospital six days later. Related Artists Tupac Erykah Badu Rick Ross (Hip-Hop)

‘It’s verification for what ‘Pac said,’ E.D.I. Mean tells MTV News of Shakur’s lyrics about Jimmy ‘Henchman’ Rosemond. By Rob Markman Tupac Shakur Photo: MTV News On the eve of what would have been Tupac Shakur’s 40th birthday, an imprisoned man has admitted to shooting the late rapper/actor during a robbery at Manhattan’s Quad Studios in November 1994. What’s even more startling is that the alleged triggerman, Dexter Isaac, is claiming in a letter that was obtained by AllHipHop.com that ‘Pac’s former associate, Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond, paid him $2,500 to do the deed. While this may be a revelation to some, ‘Pac’s former prot
