Over the weekend, 90 Day Fiance star Larissa Dos Santos Lima was arrested for domestic battery against her husband, Colt. After Larissa's panicked messages to fans, sent while locked in her bathroom, many expected that it would be Colt who was arrested. Now that we've heard both sides of the story, we understand a little more of how this arrest went down, and what led to it. Also, this is not Larissa's first arrest in the last five months. It sounds pretty toxic, folks. And parts of this sound a little terrifying. Beware that there are, obviously, some 90 Day Fiance spoilers here. 1. Colt and Larissa Had a Huge Fight We have both sides of their argument 2. Larissa locked herself in a bathroom She issued what looked like a frantic plea to her followers, saying that Colt had taken her phone and encouraging them to message him to reconnect her. 3. She also seemed afraid that he would call the police When the police arrived, it was Larissa who was arrested, not Colt 4. it started with Larissa being upset Apparently, Colt (probably to avoid spoiling 90 Day Fiance) asked her to not interact with him on social media, which she took personally, and went on an Instagram rant about how it was selfish and hurtful. 5. Colt came home with flowers This apparently did not have the intended effect upon Larissa, which she says that Colt took poorly 6. Larissa accuses Colt Larissa showed her followers video of a mess that Colt allegedly made while angry. That is definitely not good. View Slideshow
One woman’s redemption arc is another woman’s villain origin story — but is everything as it appears? Former Southern Charm villain Ashley Jacobs says that she never wanted to be Kathryn Dennis’ enemy. But Ashley also says that Kathryn isn’t sober and has never been sober, and that her trip to rehab was a publicity stunt. Ashley Jacobs took to Instagram to chat with fans … and she began by sharing that she was asked to return to Southern Charm . (Others, including Patricia Altschul , have suggested that Ashley was never invited back) “They wanted me to film with Eliza Limehouse and one other cast member,” Ashley claims. Ashley even furnishes additional details, writing: “They asked us to film while getting our nails done.” “Kathryn and Eliza do not get along,” Ashley shares. “So it felt like a setup.” Ashley and Kathryn’s feud was a major storyline last season. “My intent is not to hurt her,” Ashley says. Contrary to how it has appeared, Ashley writes: “I have no animosity towards her.” You know how sometimes a discussion seems settled, and then someone texts I just think it’s funny that … That’s what Ashley does here. “But I think it’s wrong to pretend you are sober and to use it as a platform if it’s not true,” Ashley writes. Ashley explains that she objects to Kathryn’s alleged lies because they’re an insult to real sober folks. “There are people that are truly trying to turn their lives around,” Ashley says. She insists that: “It’s not something you lie about.” Ashley, we should probably note, is a registered nurse. People in the medical profession can be particularly sensitive to what addiction can do to people. “Considering [Kathryn]was seen at [Vintage Lounge] and several [other] bars on Saturday night drinking… I think it’s pretty clear,” Ashley concludes. Ashley then doubles down on her insistence that Ashley is not and has not been sober. “She was never sober,” Ashley insists. “Rehab was paid for by Bravo.” “She didn’t complete the program,” Ashley claims. “It was a publicity stunt.” “As soon as she came back to Charleston she was seen drinking at Halls, Vintage, Deco, Republic… the list goes on,” Ashley reports. “She doesn’t try to hide it,” Ashley adds. “In Charleston everyone is aware,” she says to explain that she’s not starting this rumor. “I’m not broadcasting it.” “In Charleston everyone knows,” Ashley repeats. “She just hides it well on social media.” Despite having just put Kathryn on blast and accusing her of being a lying hypocrite as well as an addict, Ashley laments that they’re not friends. “The interesting thing is,” Ashley points out. “She was painted as the villain for several seasons.” Yep. And then, very notably, Kathryn became a much more chill person. “I know she understands what I am going through,” Ashley says. “I wish we could have used the common ground as a foundation for a positive relationship,” Ashley says. If Ashley really did hope to become friends with Kathryn, these comments are not the way to do it. Perhaps she just figures that it’s too late anyway. We have to say that dating Kathryn’s ex who is also her baby daddy was probably not the best way to make a good first impression. Also, no amount of “editing” could make their on-camera interactions last season seem anything but hostile. We know that Ashley has admitted that she did not respond well to being on a realtiy show. (We are also fully aware of the way that Thomas would bait her into getting upset, as was pointed out by the other stars) But ultimately, Ashley chose to have an adversarial relationship with Kathryn. As for Ashley’s accusation against Kathryn … we obviously can’t vouch for them. We can confirm that Ashley tested positive for marijuana (who cares) and cocaine (okay that one’s not ideal) in her system. It was because of that drug test that Thomas got custody of their children. Only this summer did Kathryn start fighting back. While Kathryn has spoken about her sobriety, that word can mean different things to different people. Some people get sober from hard drugs but continue to use marijuana, often as a medicine. Others might do the same but continue to drink alcohol, especially socially. That said, we’re not saying that this is what Kathryn is doing. We’re inclined to take Ashley’s statements with a grain of salt. On Sunday night’s long-awaited episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians , viewers witnessed the shocking moment when Khloe discovered that Tristan Thompson had cheated on her while she was pregnant with his baby. All of that happened back in April, but just like their fans, the members of the Kard clan were forced to relive the drama during this week’s episode . And not surprisingly, it seems no one had a harder time watching it all unfold than Tristan Thompson. According to Hollywood Life, Tristan watched the episode at Khloe’s behest and was appalled by the reminder of how much pain he had caused the mother of his child. “Tristan is full of regret after seeing how much he hurt not only Khloe but the whole Kardashian family by his actions,” a source tells the site. “After watching the latest episode of KUWTK, Tristan feels pretty horrible about what he put Khloe and her whole family through because of his poor decisions.” We know that in the past, Tristan has felt victimized and unfairly maligned by the Kardashians and their fans. Apparently, Khloe was correct in her theory that witnessing the aftermath of his cheating scandal would cause Thompson to realize he’s not the victim in all of this. It’s great that he finally came around, but the fact that he’s that emotionally stunted is a sure sign that Khloe needs to head for the hills. “Tristan feels like a jerk and feels like he never meant to hurt the ones he loves,” the source goes on. “He feels bad that he betrayed Khloe’s love and trust, especially during a critical time in their relationship, just as she was about to give birth to his baby.” Again, it’s great that he’s realizing he behaved like a complete POS, but why did it take him this long? The insider adds that Tristan “finally got to see how angry Kim and all the sisters had been at him” and that he now realizes he has several relationships to fix. “So he has been working hard to repair the damage done to not just Khloe but to everyone in the family.” And it seems like he’s making a good deal of progress on that front. Kim forgave Tristan over the summer and made it official by posting an Instagram video with True’s father. It’s unclear how he’s doing with the rest of the family, but Kris Jenner has proven time and again that she’s very forgiving when it comes to deplorable behavior from her daughters’ boyfriends. So despite the many rumors about Khloe and Tristan breaking up , it looks as though these two are gonna make it work. They just need a camera crew around them at all times so that Tristan can review the footage after he misbehaves. Southern Charm is getting a bit of a casting shakeup, since Thomas Ravenel will stand trial for sexual assault . But what will become of Ashley Jacobs, who was a big enough player last season to be invited to the reunion without Thomas? She says that she’s reached a decision. Ashley Jacobs took to Instagram to share some news with her fans and followers. “After a lot of prayerful consideration, I have decided not to return to Southern Charm next season,” Ashley announced. That’s a bit of a disappointment — but probably the smart decision. “Honestly,” she reveals. “I considered filming again.” Ashley then shares that she thought about it “because I desperately want to tell my side of the story.” That could mean everything from her behavior last season to why she allegedly kept hanging out with Thomas long after he was accused of sexual assault. Ashley points the finger at one factor in particular that prevents her from returning to the show. “But after experiencing how unfair the editing process can be,” Ashley said. “I don’t think I’ll ever have a fair shot.” It is not uncommon for reality stars to say that bad editing shows them in an unfavorable light. That is even the excuse that Thomas himself used to explain his departure from the show. (Bravo has confirmed that they won’t have him back; they were investigating the same allegations that led to Thomas’ arrest) Ashley thanked her fans: “I appreciate you all following me throughout this journey.” But RadarOnline ‘s source says that Ashley returning to the series was never even an option. “Ashley was not a cast member,” the insider points out. She was always there as Thomas’ girlfriend. Reports said that she wasn’t paid for appearing on the show — except for her role on the reunion special. “So,” the source explains. “There would be no conversation of her returning or not.” Another insider accused: “She is not telling the truth.” As we previously reported, Us Weekly ‘s source said something very different. According to that tabloid, there was absolutely talk of bringing back Ashley. “They weren’t specific about what her role would be,” the insider said. “Since she doesn’t have a lot of people to film with.” “They wanted Ashley to work her way back into the friend circle,” the source explained. The insider admitted: “but there was just no guarantee that that would happen.” “Of course everyone wants to see Ashley talk to Kathryn,” the source acknowledged. The source said: “Ashley was in talks with Bravo and the producers.” That flies in the face of RadarOnline ‘s report. Curiously, both tabloids belong to the same parent company. “But,” the insider said, Ashley “didn’t feel like she could represent herself well enough with the way it was being presented to her.” That seems to match up with her statement about being concerned about editing. So, it’s difficult to say whose production source is right or wrong. However, it may be for the best that Ashley is saying goodbye to the series. Not only was her relationship with Thomas deeply toxic, but being a reality star did not sit well with her. Ashley famously lost weight and admitted that she was a nervous wreck from being on television. Self-care is important, folks. Fame isn’t worth losing your health. Thomas Ravenel will have to answer the charge that he sexually assaulted his nanny in 2015. According to South Carolina news affiliate WCSC, a judge named Stephen Harris determined at a hearing on Monday that the case against Ravenel will take a step toward trial, dealing a pretty significant legal blow to the Southern Charm star. Ravenel was arrested in September and charged with second-degree assault and battery after the victim claimed he assaulted her inside of his Charleston home about three years ago. Tdoay’s preliminary hearing (which Ravenel did NOT attend) included graphic testimony from a Charleston police detective. He stated that photos show scratches on the unnamed victim, which prompted the aforementioned charges to be filed. On cross examination, Ravenel’s lawyer said there were problems unlocking the accuser’s cell phone. He also told Judge Harris that this is a case of “he said, she said,” although the victim’s wounds appear to contract that claim. While Ravenel’s young daughter’s slept in the room next door, the nanny told investigators that Ravenel took off his clothes and put the her hand on his private parts. He is then accused grabbing her private parts. “While inside the location, the defendant undressed and made sexual advances on the victim,” according to an affidavit submitted to the court. It continues: “The defendant grabbed the victim’s hand and placed it on his penis before attempting to [remove] the victim’s clothing. “While attempting to remove the victim’s clothing, the victim’s underwire bra cut into her skin and her shirt wrapped around her neck, which caused the victim to struggle to breathe.” The woman then “crouched down to the ground to try and prevent further assault” before Ravenel allegedly “put his penis in her face,” per to this same document. At one point, the affadavit goes on, Ravenel “pulled down the victim’s pants and said ‘Show me your pussy.'” Ravenel is a former South Carolina state treasurer and anchored Southern Charm on Bravo for several seasons. But he dropped out of the series shortly after news of this assault (and another attempted rape) went public. “In the contract they have the right to fictionalize your story. They took advantage of me. I decided I’ve got too much to lose and informed them I’m not coming back,” Ravenel explained at the time of his departure, playing the victim. The accuser, identified only as Dawn, appeared at Ravenel’s bond hearing last month and said she thinks the crime extends beyond simple assault and battery. She said at that time that Ravenel’s kids and also hers were “exposed to constant alcohol and drugs.” Investigators say they have “appropriately time-stamped” photos of all of these injuries to corroborate Dawn’s story. They also have records of her employment that confirm her time line of events. Ravenel resigned as state treasurer in 2007 after pleading guilty to a cocaine possession charge. He has two children with ex Kathryn Dennis: daughter Kensie, 4; and son Saint, 2. Dennis filed for a modification of custody and visitation after his arrest — we don’t blame her. Over the past several weeks, each time we’ve written about Kathryn Dennis, it’s been in relation to Thomas Ravenel. That’s what happens when you share two kids with the lead of a Bravo reality show… … and then that lead gets accused of sexual assault by two women . In this case, however, we’re here to talk about the Southern Charm star and a different man from her past. We don’t know his name. But we do know that this individual sadly has had a major impact on Dennis’ life. On Sunday evening, the 27-year old posted both the following image on Instagram and included with it a lengthy message about how she is a surivor of domestic abuse. Dennis proceeded to tell her story via this social media platform, prefacing the emotional post with a caption that reads: “This is my past, perfectly put…. worth the read. This is the real aftermath.” The reality star then went into painful detail as follows: I spend a lot of time thinking about those questions. I never saw myself in these situations and neither did anyone else. I had strong opinions, a sharp mind, and an independent spirit. But before I knew it, I was left with a broken spirit, mixed opinions, and an anxious and uncertain mind. I didn’t know who I was anymore. Dennis never names her abuser. She doesn’t get into specifics about the incident or incidents, either. Instead, she focuses more on the effects this experience has had on her life — and continues to have on her life. It was the deepest, darkest secret I kept. And this wasn’t about any particular situation/relationship as much as it was my relationship with men. It ran deep and dark, and I never realized the impact it had on myself and on my self-worth. In these depths of despair, I couldn’t see a way out of this cycle. It seemed anywhere I turned pushed me further and further away from getting to a safe place physically, mentally, and emotionally. I looked around and within and realized that my self-worth had been damaged long before I even realized it was possible. This made me really question myself. And this is how Dennis concludes: Was it me? Was this normal behavior, and I was the one in the wrong? I knew deep down inside that wasn’t the case, but I was stuck in quicksand being guided by those who kept my head above, but my feet locked in. Powerful stuff, no? Tragically, there are millions of women out there who can relate to most everything Dennis describes here. She went on to share a handful of memes, such as the ones below: Kathryn’s revelation about her past trauma with domestic violence comes just weeks after her ex-boyfriend, Ravenel, was arrested for second degree assault and battery . The ex-Bravo personality was taken into custody on charges related to sexual assault claims made by his former nanny, Dawn, who cared for his and Kathryn’s two kids, Kensington, 4, and Saint Julien, 2, years ago. Ugly stuff all around. Very unfortunately for Dennis, it sounds like she may have more challenging times ahead as a result. View Slideshow: Southern Charm: How Much Are the Stars Paid?
The Duggars really enjoy offering parenting advice to their fans. We're sure some folks appreciate this tendency, but it seems that just as many resent the unsolicited counsel. After all, the Duggars could really benefit from tending to their own backyard, so when they get a tad too preachy, their fans are often quick to call them out. This phenomenon took place in a big way this week, when Jill Duggar offered up some painfully obvious insights on parenting on her Instagram page. 1. Jill the Mom Jill is a mother of two, and she obviously takes parenting very seriously. She homeschools her kids and loves to share parenting tips on social media. 2. Helping or Hurting? Some fans find Jill’s tips helpful, while others feel that she tends to be a bit preachy while offering advice that’s already well-known to most parents. 3. Obvious Child Recently, Jill posted a new post on her blog about the importance of allowing children to play outside. 4. Yes, Really Apparently, Jill is under the impression that “let them play outside” is some sort of groundbreaking approach to parenting. 5. Jill Needs to Chill Needless to say, fans weren’t exactly blown away with Jill’s helpful hints. And many of them were quick to let her know that. 6. Sarcastic “Wow!” “A friend of ours called recently to check in,” Jill wrote. “She said that when her girls were little and her husband was in school she would take her littles outside and give them a ball to play with and that they’d play for quite awhile before she brought them home, tired and ready for bed.” View Slideshow
Southern Charm is no stranger to controversy — most notably the stunning rise and fall of Thomas Ravenel . This time, it’s Cameran Eubanks who’s been put in the hotseat. Not by police, but by her own followers. When she shared her opinion about vaccines, the backlash was so intense that she deleted her tweet — and apologized. On Thursday, Southern Charm star Cameran Eubanks decided to encourage her followers to make responsible health decisions. She posted a photo of the bandage on her arm, announcing that she had just receive her flu vaccine for this year. Cameran then encouraged her fans and followers to do the same. It’s not just the right thing to do for themselves — it can help to protect others, including those with compromised immune systems. The backlash to her post was enough that she promptly deleted it. After deleting her post, she shared an undeserved apology message with her followers. “I just deleted a post that I made today about my belief in getting the flu shot,” she began. “Never did I think it would cause such a fuss,” she explains. A few years ago, it might not have. But thanks to internet algorithms, dangerous misinformation spreads like a virus. “I’m sorry to all I offended who don’t believe in vaccinating themselves and their children,” she writes. “If you do not vaccinate I do not think you are stupid or wrong,” Cameran generously claims. Not everyone would be so charitable in their assessment of people who endanger their children and others by believing falsehoods. “We just disagree,” she writes. “I have always said I will not talk about religion or politics on social media,” Cameran concludes. “And now I’m adding vaccines too.” This is not the first time that Cameran has been taken aback by an unexpected controversy. “Palmer had hers today,” Cameran shared about her 11-month-old. “I played baby shark and not even a whimper. Couldn’t believe it. God bless that annoying ass song!” Her Southern Charm costar, the incomparable Patricia Altschul, also posted on Thursday after she received her flu shot. “@caconover is right! I just had my flu shot and I can only walk backwards #southerncharm #medicine.” Craig Conover, everyone’s favorite formerly reformed playboy who talks like a frat guy, has some wild opinions about vaccines. He called them a “crazy government shot” that would force him to walk backwards for the rest of his life. Honestly, that’s not the worst thing that we’ve heard an anti-vaxxer say, but … that’s not saying much. Patricia was not the only one who leapt to Cameran’s defense. “Um your post literally reminded me to sign up for ours,” wrote one fan. “Appointments booked. Thank you for posting about it!” “It’s not a matter of belief or disbelief, nor opinion. It’s a matter of science and facts,” correctly asserted another fan. That comment continued: “Vaccines save lives and suffering and those who choose not to certainly have the right to that choice, but yeah, they are wrong.” “My family doesn’t get the flu shot,” wrote another commenter. “And I still found nothing wrong with your post!” Vaccinations aren’t just a personal decision — they help protect those with compromised immune systems through “herd immunity.” Someone whose immune system doesn’t function at full capacity cannot be vaccinated, so they are vulnerable to the flu — or something worse, like measles. But everyone with whom they come into contact is vaccinated, then they are insulated by the “herd” and less likely to be exposed to a contagion. As for the theories about vaccines being dangerous … some of that is misinformation, and some is fearmongering. (Personal note: I am one of the one-in-a-million people who had a strongly adverse reaction to a vaccination as an infant; the real virus would have been worse and I’m glad that I was vaccinated) Vaccines do not cause autism, but even if they did, we would all rather see a child be autistic than die of a preventable disease. Whether they’re handed down by God or Jim Bob, rules are what make the Duggar family tick. Even if you’re a casual fan, you’re probably familiar with the Duggar courtship rules , the dress code, and the bizarrely regimented lifestyle that governs life on the compound. Some of these rules are expressed openly. For example, many episodes of Counting On have featured various members of the massive Duggar clan explaining the many things they’re not allowed to do prior to marriage. (The list of what’s not permitted is much, much longer than the list of what’s allowed.) But there are other rules that are shrouded in mystery. Take, for example, the Duggar policy regarding social media accounts. It’s long been rumored that Duggars who are not either married, engaged or courting are not allowed to post on social media. It was widely assumed that it was for that reason that the still-single Jana Duggar doesn’t have a social media account. This became a matter of public discussion when Jessa Duggar posted the above photo of her sister earlier this week. “I think their family has their own rule that they can’t have their own social media until they are in a relationship,” one fan commented. Jessa was having none of that talk, and she was quick to cement her place as the most outspoken Duggar daughter by immediately clearing the air: “It’s not a rule, it’s just coincidence,” Jessa responded, adding a laughing emoji to make it clear she’s not taking the situation too seriously. Of course, that emoji also served to confuse the issue a bit. Is Jessa really saying that it’s just a coincidence that Michelle and Jim Bob’s kids start social media accounts only after they’ve announced their courtships? Is she actually suggesting it’s a pure coincidence that Jana is the only adult Duggar without any social media presence, and she also happens to be the only one who’s single? We have a hard time with that one, but we doubt the Duggars really care. It’s always been sort of understood that part of what the family offers is wholesome fiction, and fans seem okay with that arrangement.
