Gwyneth Paltrow is featured in the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar. A LOT of Gwyneth Paltrow, we should say. The actress strips nearly all the way down (inside of a supermarket, randomly) for the publication, showing off a very impressive physique for someone her age and talking at length about many personal issues. Considering this is the “Daring Issue,” Paltrow talks about what it means for someone who is 44 years old to be… well… daring. “My daughter [Apple, 12] is super ballsy. I always follow her lead,” Paltrow explains. “I actually don’t need to encourage her to take risks. She likes to push herself; she wants to see how far she can get. It’s really inspiring to see that in a young woman.” Back when she was around 27, Paltrow won an Oscar and got a big head. She says her father then labeled her an “asshole,” to which she took exception. But in which she now takes pride. “If you haven’t taken all of life’s incredible knocks and disappointments and used them to become a fully integrated, self-expressing person by the time you’re 40, then what can I tell you?” she says. Is that not the most Gwyneth Paltrow quote ever? Aside from the whole conscious uncoupling thing, that is? The Goop founder goes on to say she has sought to instill this same no-nonsense attitude into her kids, Apple, 12 and Moses, 10. (Sorry, but we’ll never ever get over the name Apple . Poor kid) “In my case, I’ve borne these two kids into a particularly strange circumstance,” the actress says. “They are going to have to fend off a lot and protect themselves from a lot of projections and prejudice about who they are, coming from the family that they come from.” She doesn’t want us to feel sorry for children coming from a whole lot of privilege, does she? Sure, they may face some obstacles as a result. But does Paltrow really not see how ridiculous that comment is, considering the circumstances under which other children grow up? Enough about Paltrow, though. She sucks. What about Beyonce?!? In one of the oddest friendships we can think of, these two are extremely close. Paltrow says the singer is “shy” in real life, adding: “If you met her and you didn’t know who she was or what she did, it would be inconceivable to you that she was Beyonce. “Some really famous people, even when they’re off-duty, have this energy that is sort of overpowering. She does not have that.” Concludes the controversial star: “[Beyonce] is so dialed down. She’s the sweetest mother. “You would not believe she is Beyonce Knowles. The Kardashians are taking on diabetes, according to a new report, in the form of another intervention aimed at helping troubled Rob. Or more accurately, helping Rob help himself. When Rob Kardashian was hospitalized with diabetes last month, few were shocked and everyone was sad for the 28-year-old. Family and fans alike hoped this would be the wake-up call he desperately needs, as there’s no doubt his lifestyle is unhealthy. Rob knows he’s in this position “because of his weight gain,” says a source, and has vowed to overhaul his habits. But will he? “He agreed he will do follow-up doctors’ appointments and he’s taking medication to control his blood sugar,” the insider says. Again … but will he actually follow through with it? Mother Kris Jenner and sisters Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian have been underwhelmed by his efforts so far, we’re hearing. “They’re concerned he’s not taking the situation seriously,” a friend says, and as a result, they are preparing for more drastic action. “They’re planning on doing an intervention with him.” It won’t be the first time, but “he’s detached himself from everyone. Nobody knows what’s going on with him until it’s too late.” If you watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians online , you know the family devised a plan to get Rob in-home treatment last spring. A desperate Kris explained on the show at the time, “I feel like if I don’t help him do something drastic that he’s going to die.” We truly hope it doesn’t come to that, but at this point, Rob needs to man up and take some responsibility for his actions and future. During a Monday afternoon segment discussing the police shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, guest Jonathan Capehart suggested that black men have to go extra lengths to ensure their safety in public. “Don’t run in public,” he said. “Don’t run with anything in your hands. Keep a discreet distance away from white women, lest you get accused of any number of things.” His larger point being that a black male looking and talking a certain way in public could lead to unwanted assumptions or trouble, more so than any other race. Farrow agreed. “It resonates so much for me on a personal level because I grew up with a black brother and people talk about this term ‘blackmotheritis,’” he explained. “My white mother had blackmotheritis. I heard the speech so many times. My brother was a big black guy and he’d run in the supermarket as a young teen. She’d say ‘You can’t do that.’” He continued: “[She’d say] that he had to dress in a different way from me because there were all these fears about maybe violence against him if he went across the street in a hoodie or looking a certain way.” How sad is it that Black boys can’t just be kids like anyone else? Ummmmmm 98-Pound Woman Says She Only Eaten One Thing For 13 Years Ramen noodles are all this has girl needed to survive for the last 13 years. via NY Daily News It’s one thing to get by on ramen packets when you’re short on cash — but quite another to eat nothing but instant noodles for more than a decade. Georgi Readman of the Isle of Wight, U.K., has an extreme aversion to fruits and vegetables and subsists on the salty, preservative-laden snack. She became hooked 13 years ago and now, at age 18, claims to eat nothing but noodle packets, which her mother buys for her by the dozen. Readman estimates she eats 30 miles of noodles every year, and said even the thought of other foods makes her sick. “I hate the texture of fruit and vegetables,” she said. “I can’t go to my friends’ for dinner or go out for meals because I don’t want them to see me freak out if the side salad touches the stuff I eat. Mum goes to the supermarket and brings back as many packets as she can afford. “I always fancy noodles and could easily eat two packets at once. I’ve even eaten them dry and uncooked before!” Readman first tried ramen at age 5 and gradually phased out other foods. She shows signs of selective eating disorder, a little-studied and not formally recognized condition in which picky eating persists into adulthood. Selective eaters feel they physically cannot stomach most foods, which may lead to problems in their social, work and love lives. Wow.
