Talk about a Dancing with the Stars shocker! The performances of the final four on Dancing with the Stars last night ? Nah, not really. More like the action that takes place in the following video, as Noah Galloway – who had just earned rave reviews for his latest routine – was conducting his backstage interview when he decided to talk about something else. Noah Galloway Proposes! “This song, Time of My Life, you give that to me,” Galloway said to girlfriend Jamie Boyd before getting down on one knee and PROPOSING! On live television! Explained the Army veteran and double amputee to People after Boyd accepted his proposal: “Jamie has been so supportive throughout my entire journey. I have been wanting to propose for a while.” Galloway added : “I always thought if I made it to the finale I would propose, but I realized the competition is so stiff I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by in case this is the end of the road for me on the show.” We’ll find out on Tuesday night whether or not this really is the end of the road for Galloway on Dancing with the Stars. The Voice Recap: Can Top Five Make Dreams Come True?

“I know there’s somebody who watched this that was told ‘No’ today.” “They were told no. And after seeing that performance, it’s like you realize that the impossible is just a word, because it can be done. And dreams can come true.” – Pharrell Williams, on an inspirational Koryn Hawthorne Survive and advance. That has been the mantra of The Voice top five throughout the NBC hit’s eighth season, and it becomes harder every week. Somebody’s dreams will come true this season (or millions of viewers, according to Pharrell), while four others will see theirs dramatically dashed. Who will that lucky young man or woman be? View Slideshow: The Voice Season 8 Semifinals Round One: Coaches’ Choice Joshua Davis (Team Adam) took on Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” an odd choice in a sense given its somber, heartbreaking nature. Koryn Hawthorne (Team Pharrell) was slightly better on U2’s “One,” delivering a solid but unspectacular cover that never quite hit its emotional peak. Meghan Linsey (Team Blake) fell similarly uneven on Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One,” continuing her mercurial run thus far this season on NBC. India Carney (Team Christina) gave one of her most refined performances yet, thanks to her powerful if imperfect take on Sara Bareilles’ “Gravity.” Sawyer Fredericks (Team Pharrell): Coach gets some credit for his choice of Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth,” a perfect fit for his protege. Round Two: Hometown Dedications Joshua Davis (Team Adam) picked The Band and Bob Dylan’s “When I Paint My Masterpiece” as he tried to make his case for a spot on the finale. Koryn Hawthorne (Team Pharrell): Her rendition of “Oh Mary Don’t You Weep” inspired Pharrell’s hyperbolic gushing above, and well, it was warranted. Meghan Linsey (Team Blake): Like a seasoned veteran, she took on George Jones’ “Tennessee Whiskey” like a boss. Blake and America? Proud. India Carney (Team Christina): Now that’s impressive. Her take on Michael Jackson’s “Earth Song” was powerful, nuanced and technically proficient. Sawyer Fredericks (Team Pharrell): Despite the backup singers not helping his cause, Sawyer nailed it again on Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years.” One never knows, obviously, when it comes to the voters and their tastes, but he’s hands down the favorite to take this title home on talent … right? Well? Who do you think was the star of The Voice Season 8 Top 5? And who do you think will be headed back to their hometown for good Tuesday? Former Presidential Aide Says Obama Lied About Opposing Same-Sex Marriage To Win Presidency

President Obama Lied About Same Sex Marriage Stance To Win Voters Turns out President Barack Obama has always been more progressive in his views on gay marriage than he initially let on. That is, if you believe the report of one of his former top aides. As David Axelrod writes in his new book, “Believer: My Forty Years in Poltics,” released Tuesday, Obama had supported gay marriage for years before he considered running for the presidency. However, he had to turn down his support to garner more support from the Black church — known to be staunchly against homosexual couples marrying in the same fashion as traditional couples. As Axelrod wrote in his book (via CNN ): “Gay marriage was a particularly nagging issue. For as long as we had been working together, Obama had felt a tug between his personal views and the politics of gay marriage. Opposition to gay marriage was particularly strong in the black church, and as he ran for higher office, he grudgingly accepted the counsel of more pragmatic folks like me, and modified his position to support civil unions rather than marriage, which he would term a ‘sacred union.’” “Obama started saying in 2010 that his views were evolving on the issue and in May 2012 Obama announced his support for same-sex marriage, citing ‘the evolution that I went through.’” Being that he was going against his true beliefs on the matter, Obama often had problems answering press questions on the manner correctly. According to Axelrod: “Obama never felt comfortable with his compromise and, no doubt, compromised position. He routinely stumbled over the question when it came up in debates or interviews. ‘I’m just not very good at bulls—ting,’ he said with a sigh after one such awkward exchange.” Hey…gotta play the game sometimes. Does this change your opinion on Barry?

Michigan Gay Marriage Ban Struck Down By Judge; State Now 18th to Allow Same-Sex Weddings

A federal judge Friday struck down Michigan’s ban on gay marriage. As such, the state becomes the 18th in the nation to allow gays and lesbians to join in legal matrimony just like their heterosexual counterparts. Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette immediately filed for an emergency request for a stay of the ruling in the late afternoon Friday. Schuette said that “Michigan voters enshrined that decision in our state constitution, and their will should stand and be respected.” “In 2004 the citizens of Michigan recognized that diversity in parenting is best for kids and families because moms and dads are not interchangeable.” It’s unclear if that stay will be granted. In his 31-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman heavily criticized the state’s position that the will of the voters should have been upheld. “In attempting to define this case as a challenge to ‘the will of the people,’ state defendants lost sight of what this case is truly about: people,” Friedman wrote . “No court record of this proceeding could ever fully convey the personal sacrifice of these two plaintiffs,” the judge went on. “[They] seek to ensure that the state may no longer impair the rights of their children and the thousands of others now being raised by same-sex couples.” Two Hazel Park, Mich., nurses, April DeBoer and Jayne Rowse, filed their lawsuit in January 2012, saying Michigan has no rational basis for denying them the right. The women have been partners for eight years. “It’s just amazing,” said DeBoer, who wiped away tears and hugged Rowse after learning of Friedman’s ruling. “This is what we’ve wanted for our family and families like ours.” “We got our day in court, and we won.” Friedman did not follow the trend of other federal judges handling similar cases across the country because he did not stay his ruling pending appeal. Unlike most federal judges who have taken up the gay-marriage issue, Friedman opted last fall to hold a trial and give both sides a chance to present their arguments. Friedman’s ruling came two weeks after the trial.

Family Guy Spoofs Girls, Gets Dirty for Emmy Campaign

For the consideration of Emmy voters around the nation, Family Guy has released a new print ad. And it makes those Family Guy quotes uttered every Sunday night seem downright tame by comparison. The campaign takes aim at HBO’s Girls and features the Fox sitcom’s characters posing like Lena Dunham , Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet. But it’s the tagline along the top that really gets your attention: “Here’s a load of comedy to shoot on your chest.” Will voters respond to these racy tactics? Nominations for the 2013 ceremony will be announced on July 18.

Jonathan Cheban Threatened on Airplane, Passenger Detained at LAX

So this apparently happened today: Jonathan Cheban – the best friend of Kim Kardashian – was flying from New York to Los Angeles when a woman Tweeted a threat at the reality star. “Jonathan Cheban is on my flight, should I cut him with my weapon?” she wrote, adding: “I gotta pretty intense pocket knife with mehhh.” Somehow, the authorities were alerted to these messages and detained the unidentified passenger once the flight landed at LAX. It has to be the first time in history that a Tweet led to a possible arrest, at least a Tweet about wounding Jonathan Cheban. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians regular did Tweet “Police?” in response to the initial messages, but says that was the extent of his involvement in the strange case. In the end, the woman was searched and released when no weapon was found. She then tried to make it up to Cheban with: “It was a bad joke … you look really hot babe.” So now we know she’s crazy.

Debbie Rowe: Should She Become Legal Guardian of Paris Jackson?

Paris Jackson’s mom Debbie Rowe is back in the news amid speculation that she may seek control of the troubled teen, though sources say this is premature. Rowe, who was forging a close bond with her daughter before her suicide attempt (the Paris Jackson 911 call was released today), is not angling to take over. While she is planning to host Paris at her California horse farm this summer, she does not want to oust her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, in any way. “It would take Katherine dying or becoming very ill for Debbie to seek legal guardianship ,” said a source, despite reports of animosity with the family . Only if the judge makes a dramatic decision to strip Katherine of custody AND Paris wanted her to step in, then Rowe would be ready to do so. Paris could even live with Rowe indefinitely and “it still wouldn’t change the legal guardianship” situation, the source insisted, nor does it have to. “Katherine isn’t giving up the role because she feels it would let Michael down, and Debbie has too much respect for Katherine and Michael to fight her.” Would Rowe as guardian be in Paris’ best interest, though? Vote in our poll:   Yes. It sounds like she needs her mom! No! I don’t trust that woman! View Poll »

Brett Seacat Verdict: Guilty of Wife’s Murder, Arson

A Kansas jury took under a day to reach a verdict in the Brett Seacat case. He was found guilty of killing his wife Vashti and setting fire to their home. Seacat, 37, of Kingman, Kan., was convicted of first-degree murder , aggravated arson and two counts of aggravated endangering a child in the 2011 act. The jury concluded he killed Vashti Seacat 16 days after she filed for divorce, and prosecutors will seek a sentence of 50 years in prison on August 5. Jurors were tasked with determining whether Vashti committed suicide, leaving behind her two children, or if her husband brutally murdered her. In the end, they concluded he did. Motivated by the threatened loss of their marriage, police say he shot her in the head and set the house on fire. Taking the stand for over a full day last week, ex-police deputy Brett Seacat portrayed himself as a loving husband and father to two boys, then 2 and 4. He said he was burdened by his wife’s desire to break up, but continued to share their home after Vashti filed for divorce, and urged additional counseling. “I would never burn our house,” he said under questioning from the prosecution last week. “I would never expose my children to any situation like that.” A dozen of his peers apparently disagreed.
