If You Have A Problem With Tiffany Haddish’s Success, Perhaps The Real Problem Is You

Source: Tibrina Hobson / Getty Earlier this week, Beyonce’s Internet was buzzing with news that Tiffany Haddish  wasn’t up to par when performing on New Year’s Eve in Miami. Let some tell it, she kind of bombed, so much so that she was booed, prompting some folks at her sold-out show to walk out. Apparently, “The Last O.G.” star had been “partying all night,” still had some “Ciroc in her system” and had trouble remembering her lines. She ended up cutting her set short, but to make sure the audience still had a good time, she invited some folks up on stage to enjoy some of her vodka and see if they could do stand-up better than her. “F–k it,” she declared. “I really wanted to talk about some stuff and can’t remember none of it.” Was her behavior disappointing? Most definitely. Should everyone get a refund? Absolutely. However, unlike most of your male comedian faves, the 39-year-old took complete accountability for her actions, tweeting on Tuesday, “Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami. I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happened again.” Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami. I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happened again. Tiffany Haddish Bombs, Drinks with Fans Instead https://t.co/4QxPn0j0xc via @TheRoot — Tiffany Haddish (@TiffanyHaddish) January 1, 2019 Like many human beings, myself included, Tiffany went to work hungover AF and had a pretty shi**y day, not living up to her impressive resume. But she said she was sorry, it will never happen again. The end. But not surprisingly, it wasn’t the end. It was actually just the beginning. See, her faux pas opened up the floodgates for her detractors to spread all kinds of slander about her on Twitter. And no, these detractors weren’t the (mostly white) deranged Peta folks foaming at the mouth because she said she’ll stop wearing fur when the police stop killing Black folks. Sadly, the majority of those detractors were us. Well, correction…They were actually a group of salty Black men I like to refer to as Chapped Lip Black Twitter . You know, the same dehydrated ashy dudes that blame Black women for everything from climate change to high rates of incarceration to why Cardi B won’t take Offset back . See, they came out in full-force to prove that “all the hype” around Tiffany is underserved because she “isn’t really funny” and how she “isn’t ready,” using this one stand-up failure as their smoking gun. Tiffany Haddish forgot her jokes Live on stage ! Damn , Katt Williams tried to tell y’all pic.twitter.com/Z7uPByQjzm — LIL CHIRP CHIRP (@Geeyavel1iii) January 1, 2019 *Tiffany Haddish gets boo’d” Katt Williams : pic.twitter.com/VtEHSJJQgh — yall won (@IssaBlackMan) January 1, 2019 Katt Williams was right about Tiffany Haddish . Tiffany isn't funny at all. She says the dummies shit and thinks it's cute. Need to go find another career because this isn't it. #tiffanyhaddish — Shamiyah (@MizzShamiyah) January 1, 2019 I went to go see if @TiffanyHaddish was actually funny. I ended up doing this. Conclusion: She is not funny. Horrible show. In her defense, she said she was having a rough night. She didn’t have to be up there. She ended up inviting me up on stage to tell jokes. pic.twitter.com/Ze1BPzeY9S — Andrew Chestnutt (@AndrewChestnut1) January 1, 2019 Let’s be clear: If an Emmy, a Showtime special, being one of the best SNL hosts of 2018, four movies under her belt last year and a hit TBS sitcom, wasn’t enough for you to see that Tiffany is talented, then you’re just a hater. And if one bad night means you should “find a new career,” this means your geniuses—  Dave Chappelle , Chris Rock , Kevin Hart  & company —would all be out of jobs because every one of those comic has bombed, at every stage of their careers. Yet, funny how these same folks don’t have this same kind of energy for men. But what’s really depressing is that these critiques aren’t just coming from dudes with 200 or less Twitter followers, we’ve seen this from Tiffany’s colleagues. As some of the tweets above pointed out, Katt Williams of all people with his own personal struggles, fixed his lips to say that Tiffany didn’t deserve her success . “She’s been doing comedy since she was 16. You can’t tell me your favorite Tiffany Haddish joke. Why? Because she ain’t done a tour yet. She ain’t done a special. She has not proven the ability to tell jokes back to back for an hour to nobody,” Williams said. And then in classic hotep fashion, Katt basically called her a negro bedwench. “They like her because she wanna sleep with a white man. That’s why the only thing she said was I wanna give it to Brad Pitt. She said she’s got a diseased vajayjay ain’t nobody checking for that.” Even her own “Last O.G.” co-star Tracey Morgan  showed his ass during a 2018 interview, literally acting like someone stole his bike when asked what it was like to work with the “Girls Trip” comedienne . This is one hating ass dude right here that show would be nothing if @TiffanyHaddish wasn’t on it… Don’t bite the hand that keeps you relevant!!! pic.twitter.com/BlpDu9Sxjw — Lil Rel Howery (@LilRel4) May 31, 2018 Now, no one is above critique, Tiffany included. And it’s completely OK for her and her humor to not be your cup of tea. I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m still figuring out how I feel about her, her love for Taylor Swift’s collard greens and that whole #WhoBitBeyonce mess , but this hatred for her just doesn’t make any sense. Or maybe it does. Too often, when Black women have the audacity to excel at their craft, especially in areas that are male dominated, there will always be insecure men who will do and say anything to undermine that success. Hence, all these new rules that Black women have to follow and double standards we must adhere to that men never have to abide by. See, our greatness isn’t always looked at something to celebrate, it can be seen as a threat and a roadblock to other’s accomplishments. ‘Cause be crystal clear: We’re all Black queens, until our stars begin to shine brighter than theirs. Tiffany Haddish just happens to be the one currently in the crosshairs of that misogynist nonsense and her bombing in Miami continues to show us that as Black women we aren’t allowed to make mistakes. There is no room for error. We have to work harder, be smarter  and be flawless in order for our talent to get a sliver of the recognition our mediocre male counterparts garner. But whether you love or hate her, Ms. Haddish isn’t going anywhere, but up. And if her name in bright lights unnerves you so damn much and invokes such a visceral reaction, you really need to ask yourself, “Is she the problem, or is it me and my frail ego?” RELATED NEWS: Cardi B Drops ‘Money’ Video, Black Twitter Makes It Rain It’s About Time! Wendy Williams: My Husband Would Never Be Dumb Enough to Cheat!

We all talk about current events, but Wendy Williams delights in the personal misfortunes of the rich and famous. She slammed Khloe as pathetic for staying with her cheating baby daddy, but sometimes, cheating rumors hit closer to home. Reports say that her husband has been unfaithful, but Wendy is laughing them off. HollywoodLife reports that Wendy Williams isn’t even a little concerned that Kevin Hunter is leading a double life. ” Wendy ‘s marriage with Kevin is as solid as ever,” the insider announces. “She is laughing at some of the infidelity rumors,” the source says. ” Which have popped up yet again.” ” Wendy is happily married,” the insider emphasizes. “And,” the source clarifies. “She has no plans to leave or divorce Kevin.” Meaning that she doesn’t believe that Kevin is cheating on her and isn’t interested in using even the rumors of it to end her marriage. Wendy, who beams with glee on television as famous marriages crumble apart, isn’t loving the attention. For once. ” Wendy doesn’t appreciate people taking shots at her or her marriage,” the insider says. There are any number of couples about whom she has speculated wildly for minutes at a time on her syndicated television show who know the feeling. “But,” the source notes. “She had gotten used to it.” The insider cannot resist adding: “although it is not nice, appreciated or valid.” It is very natural for people, at work or at home, to discuss the daily lives of famous people. That can even include a bit of gloating when someone gets a well-deserved dose of misfortune in their otherwise perfect lives. That’s human nature. And there’s usually nothing wrong with that. But Wendy Williams takes things to another level. She has been characterized by some as acting like some sort of demon that feeds off of human misery. The dissolution of a celebrity marriage is like catnip to Wendy. It’s interesting, to say the least, to know that she’s not enjoying her own marriage being under a microscope. Wendy has experienced a couple of health scares recently. On Halloween of 2017, Wendy Williams collapsed on live television , and ultimately blamed it on menopause … and then on Graves’ disease. Much more recently, however, she appeared to slur her words when introducing The Lox. Some worried that she had suffered a stroke, as slurred speech is a tell-tale symptom. She says that this was not the case. Wendy placed the blame on painkillers that she took for an injured shoulder. “Needless to say, whatever today’s performance was with the legendary The Lox, who said such nice things,” Wendy later wrote. She continued: “I have no regrets and I appreciate everyone’s genuine concern for my wellness and care” “I will get some much needed rest and healing over these next couple of weeks,” she promised. “(Yes I am definitely juicing over the next couple of weeks),” she revealed. “Sorry again,” Wendy concluded. “I love you all. Happy Holidays” Well, we certainly don’t wish Wendy any ill health, so we hope that she is feeling much better in 2019. View Slideshow: 14 Talk Show Hosts Who Should Never Speak Again

Source: photo: WENN It seems the day to day grind of hosting a talk show is taking a toll on Wendy Williams . She has announced she will be taking time off get her body right. As reported by  Vibe  America’s favorite gossiper will have to put things on pause until she feels well. Last week Wendy Williams announced on her show that she injured her shoulder thus staying in her seat for the majority of her show. She went on to further detail her struggles via her official Instagram account. “I did that to power through and try to deliver a great show for you, against the better judgment of the many people around me who genuinely care for my well-being. I really do ride or die for my craft and give 200%” she explained. She went on to also remind her fans about her longstanding medical condition. “Not to mention everyone is aware at this point about my thyroid condition (don’t cry for me Argentina). “For all my fellow thyroid sufferers, you know what the deal is,” she continued. “…Needless to say… I have no regrets and I appreciate everyone’s genuine concern for my wellness and care. I promise you a better Wendy in 2019.” This isn’t the first time the former radio host has experience health concerns during her tenure as a television personality. In 2017 she fainted during a Halloween themed episode. She attributed the scare due to lack of rest. Earlier this year she took a 3 week-week break per doctor’s orders.  The Wendy Williams Show is scheduled to return to live tapings in January of 2019. Photo: WENN.com

Will New Professional Football League Allow Players To Kneel In Protest Of Racism?

Follow this link:

A new professional football league apparently spearheaded by former Black players was announced Thursday, amid turmoil in the National Football League over its athletes protesting racism by kneeling during the national anthem. See Also: NFL Makes New Rule That Players Can’t Kneel Against Racism, Or Else Former NFL running back Ricky Williams broke the news about the Freedom Football League on ESPN’s “Outside the Lines.” Approximately 100 “stakeholders,” including 50 former NFL players, are starting the league. The owners include Terrell Owens , Simeon Rice  and Mike Alstott , ESPN reported. In describing the mission of the league, Williams hinted that it would permit players to protest. “We’re trying to develop young men. You can’t take away their voice and expect them to develop. … When I grew up watching football, I really wanted to be like Jim Brown , not because of what he did on a field, but because he could take that platform and have a voice. And so, when I got to the NFL, expecting that to be the case, anytime a big social issue came up, we were told, ‘Be quiet. … It’s a distraction.’ And so, really, [we’re] changing the conversation,” he said. BREAKING: Former Pro Bowler Ricky Williams announces new Freedom Football League, founded in part by former NFL players. Teams will be “partly owned by the players, partly owned by the fans, and partly owned by the operators.” pic.twitter.com/sEonBKygr9 — Outside The Lines (@OTLonESPN) December 6, 2018 Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick was the first to take a knee during the national anthem in 2016 to protest racism in the criminal justice system. He started a movement at the expense of his professional football career. In response to the backlash from many fans, the NFL announced in May 2018 a ban on players kneeling during the national anthem, but later suspended enforcement of new rules. It’s not clear how the Freedom Football League will manage that issue. But Williams offered a clue. “The purpose of this league … is about community and the development of players,” Williams stated. “… In thinking about creating this league, I wanted to create a league that I could have stayed in and been comfortable and really thrived. The NFL started a long time ago, and since then a lot of things have changed. And we want to create a league that’s ready for that change and invite some more of it.” The new league is slated to have 10 teams that would play in the spring and summer. It wants to attract high-quality players from college, high school and international leagues—as well as NFL defectors. Funding for the Freedom League would come from private and public sources, which enables fans to become part owners. Chime In: Serena Williams’ GQ Cover Faces Backlash Because “Woman” Is In Quotations

SplashNews.com Twitter Speaks Their Mind On Monday, Serena Williams was announced as GQ ‘s Woman of the Year and some people aren’t too hype about the cover that was unveiled. Instead of putting “Woman of the Year” in plain text, “Man of the Year” is printed with “Man” crossed out and replaced with “Woman” in quotations. Announcing GQ's Men (and Woman) of the Year 2018: @michaelb4jordan , @henrygolding , @jonahhill , and @serenawilliams (featuring handwriting by @virgilabloh ) https://t.co/EpG3lKCJ3r #GQMOTY pic.twitter.com/6MgczSxSpq — GQ Magazine (@GQMagazine) November 12, 2018 The quoted “Woman” was handwritten by designer and Williams collaborator Virgil Abloh. Abloh, the man behind Off-White and Louis Vuitton, designed Serena’s US Open tutu dress and he often uses quotation marks on his Off-White designs. However, some people on Twitter didn’t grasp this context and they believed the quotations used for Serena were insensitive to ridicule she’s received in the past. Serena has constantly been labeled a man or unhuman-like for her athletic skills and body type. Someone I follow pointed out that @GQMagazine decided to put woman in quotes on Serena's cover and I too am offended and disgusted knowing the gender slights and digs people still throw at @serenawilliams . https://t.co/um9oYV6Pr0 — I'm That Type Of Guy (@Marrrrcussss) November 12, 2018 They really put “Woman” in quotes in reference to Serena and no one at the table thought it was a bad idea. I'm speechless. — King Wizard (@ChrisTheHuman_) November 12, 2018   Some folks even understood the Virgil reference but still were offended. Everyone knows Virgil. We know his designs. We get the quotations. Doesn’t mean putting quotes around woman makes it any less insensitive esp. considering the masculinization of Serena and black women in general! — Kae (@akaeleehb) November 13, 2018 One Twitter user even pointed out that Gal Godot was named Woman of the Year by GQ last year, but her “Woman” wasn’t in quotation marks. Serena is the magazine’s sole Woman of the Year, which doesn’t make matters any better. The Men of the Year include Michael B. Jordan, Henry Golding,  and Jonah Hill.  Serena has yet to speak publically on the cover, but she’s been candid in the past about ridicule she’s faced about her gender. Last year, in a reddit post , Williams said: “I’ve been called man because I appeared outwardly strong. It has been said that I use drugs (No, I have always had far too much integrity to behave dishonestly in order to gain an advantage). It has been said I don’t belong in Women’s sports — that I belong in Men’s — because I look stronger than many other women do. (No, I just work hard and I was born with this badass body and proud of it).” She addressed the issue some more back in May when she told Harper’s Bazaar , “People would say I was born a guy, all because of my arms, or because I’m strong. I was different to Venus: She was thin and tall and beautiful, and I am strong and muscular — and beautiful, but, you know, it was just totally different.” What do you think of the GQ cover? Too much or is it just another designer’s signature stamp?

The show depicts the couple’s road to newlywed bliss and the rocky road even that has been. In one clip, the two are having a discussion when Michelle brings up the topic of race, which Chad disapproves of. “I said something to him on the lines of ‘Well, Chad, because you are not Black you would not understand why I communicate the way I do. Maybe because you didn’t grow up around a lot of Black people.’ So that was very, very offensive to Chad,” Michelle recalled in the clip. Johnson apologized for the remark and said that he lost his temper but that the remark had everything to do with he and Michelle’s racial differences. But is it a red flag for their marriage?
