Clermont Twin Begs For Mercy Ahead Of Sentencing In $22K Federal Fraud Case (Exclusive Details)

Source: Jerritt Clark / Getty Shannade Clermont Facing Prison Time For Raiding Dead Man’s Bank Account After “Paid Date” Yeezy model turned admitted swindler Shannade Clermont has begged for mercy ahead of her sentencing next week in her fraud case. The social media star pled guilty in November to felony wire fraud and access device fraud after admitting she’d stolen her deceased victim’s credit card after what the feds called a “prostitution date” to embark on a $22,000 six-month-long shopping spree. Clermont’s lawyer asked for a lenient sentence because his client had led a law-abiding life up until the fraud, and claimed she did it out of desperation and extreme financial hardship, according to court papers filed Thursday and obtained by BOSSIP. Instead of the 12- 18 months in federal prison that she agreed to as part of her plea, her lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman asked that she serve half the time behind bars and the rest of her sentence under house arrest or on probation. Lichtman argued that Clermont started a foundation to help people with mental illness, supported her family and friends and was a beacon of strength to her twin sister, Shannon. Source: Vivien Killilea / Getty Her court paperwork also includes character letters from 20 people, attesting to her “strong moral character” and “heart of gold.” “Defendant Shannade Clermont comes before this court asking for mercy,” her court papers state. “A life filled with good deeds and hard work had been marred by her criminal actions. Nevertheless, as the powerful enclosed letters reveal, Ms. Clermont is an uncommonly decent and giving young woman, and unlike many defendants, has made very sincerer efforts to help family, friends and even strangers throughout her life.” Clermont had initially faced four felony charges, but under a deal with the government, she only pled guilty to two charges and had the others dismissed. Although wire fraud carries a sentence of up to 20 years, the judge told Clermont that the government agreed to a sentence of 12-18 months in federal prison, restitution and up to $55,000 in fines.

Kylie Jenner: Did She Just Reveal That She’s Pregnant With Baby #2?!

It’s been just over a year since Kylie Jenner welcomed her first child . In that time, the 21-year-old has transformed into a devoted mother, snapped back into flawless shape, and oh yeah — she even found time to become the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire. (Sorry, we’ll never be able to refer to Kylie’s wealth as “self-made” without quotes.) Needless to say, despite her youth, Kylie has managed to accomplish a great deal since welcoming baby Stormi into the world. And fans are convinced she’s already preparing to do it all over again. Yes, the buzz in the comments section on Kylie’s Instagram page is that the makeup mogul is expecting her second child. Of course, reports that Kylie is pregnant with baby number two have been circulating pretty much from the time she welcomed her first child. But this time, her followers are convinced that Kylie is dropping major hints — some intentional, some not so much. It all started last week when Kylie posted the above photo, along with a caption reading: “My baby is stuck to me like glue lately.” Fans were quick to offer up the most dramatic possible assessment of the situation. “Every time my babies were attached to me, usually it’s because I was pregnant. So girl are you!? Haha,” wrote one follower. “Little ones know when mommy is pregnant before mommy knows,” another remarked. Obviously, fans are making quite a leap here, but that tiny shred of evidence becomes more compelling when considered alongside the following: Kylie posted the above photo on Wednesday to share that she and friend Heather Sanders had both gotten their nails done. But as Hollywood Life points out , fans took the seemingly innocuous pic and ran wild with it. “Hinting again maybe? Baby girl or baby boy nails?” one fan wrote in the comments section. “More like back at it again with a second baby,” another remarked. “All I see in this picture is that she’s pregnant with a girl or boy???!!!??” wrote a third. Yet again, this is quite a leap.  Of course, by now we’re sure Kylie is used to fans scrutinizing literally everything she does — small price to pay for being a freakin’ billionaire at 21. Jussie Smollett May Have Been Assaulted by Someone in "Whiteface," Lawyer Argues

The Jussie Smollett case continues to get crazier and crazier, weirder and weirder. By the minute, it often seems. In the latest hilarious/disturbing/eye-roll-inducing development resulting from this saga, Smollett’s attorney, Tina Glandian, sat across from Savannah Gurthrie on The Today Show Thursday morning. The lawyer did her best to address several inconsistencies with her client’s story, such as the fact that he has claimed from the outset that two white men attacked him early on the morning of January 29. And yet… two African-Americans are the only suspects . They’re Nigerian brothers named Abel and Ola Osundairo and they have multiple connections to Smollett: They worked as extras on Empire. They personally trained Smollett. There are also text messages sent between Smollett and Abel on record, as well as phone calls the day of the supposed attack; a check made out to Abel in the amount of $3,500; and surveillance footage of the brothers purchasing rope and other supplies at a store on the day of the supposed attack. Here’s a photo of the muscular men: So… how does Glandian explain this away? How could Smollett have said two white men beat him up, when it appears to have been two black men he actually knows? “He only saw one of the attackers,” the attorney told Guthrie, adding: “One of them he didn’t see. He saw one through a ski mask. Again, he could not see their body. Everything was covered, and he had a full ski mask on except the area around the eyes.” She continued of what Smollett told the cops: “He did tell police that he… from what we saw, he thought it was pale skin or white or pale skin, was I think what he said. And that was what he… and that’s why he initially did have a hard time.” Abel and Ola have not said anything since the charges against Smollett were dropped . Their lawyer allegedly resigned after they refused to come forward and confirm that Smollett hired them to stage the attack. On Today, meanwhile, Glandian offered up another incredible defense for why her client told police he was assaulted by Caucasians. “Well, you know, I mean, I think there’s – obviously, you can disguise that,” she said of the brothers’ race. “You can put makeup on.” Shen then pointed to a YouTube video from 2016 in which Abel Osundairo puts on white makeup to perform the Joker monologue. Here is a still image of the suspect in whiteface from that footage: “I think police had minimal investigation in this case, it took me only five minutes to Google,” said the attorney. “You know, I was looking up the brothers, and one of the videos that showed up actually was of the brothers in whiteface doing a joker monologue with white makeup on him. “So, it’s not – it’s not implausible.” Okay. We guess. From there, Guthrie asked why Smollett did not recognize the Osundairos’ voices after allegedly having hung up the phone with them just moments earlier, based on official record, to which Glandian replied: “I mean, this was a very brief interaction. “Before you can even process what they look like, you’ve been punched in the face. And now next thing you’re on the floor and you’re being kicked… “And so, this isn’t somebody who’s digesting what’s happening. I mean, there’s excitement and fear and all of these things happening.” Glandian went on to say that Smollett has no interest in pressing charges against these suspects — which sounds downright insane and bizarre. He’s claiming they beat him up, tied a rope around his neck, yelled racial and anti-gay slurs at him and poured bleach all over him? And he’s looking to clear his name? And yet he doesn’t want to press charges?!?!?!? That is questionable AF. Smollett’s lawyer also says Jussie is more upset about the reaction to his charges being dropped than about this supposedly heinous assault. Smollett is especially hurt by the way the Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, and the Chicago Police Department slammed and trashed him as guilty… even after the state’s attorney office let him walk free. Emanuel referred to this decision as a ” whitewash of justice ,” adding of Smollett: You have a person using hate crime laws that are on the books to protect people who are minorities from violence to then turn around and use those laws to advance your career and your financial reward. Is there no decency in this man? “It is the Mayor and the Police Chief who owe Jussie – owe him an apology – for dragging an innocent man’s character through the mud. Jussie has paid enough,” Smollett’s legal team’s have now said in a statement. View Slideshow: Jussie Smollett: This is How He Staged His Alleged Assault

Breaking: R. Kelly Pleads Not Guilty To Sexual Abuse Charges

Source: Cook County Department of Corrections / Cook County Department of Corrections Fallen King Of R&B Indicted Of Multiple Charges Of Sex Assault R. Kelly has pled not guilty to 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The disgraced singer appeared in the Cook County Court Monday to answer charges that abused teen girls for years, after spending the weekend behind bars as he struggles to come up with $100,000 bail. His lawyer Steven Greenberg pled not guilty on Kelly’s behalf, and after the hearing, Greenberg insisted his client was innocent and a “rock star” who didn’t need to have nonconsensual sex. BOSSIP can reveal the singer is being held in the jail’s Division 8, which is reserved for vulnerable inmates who could be at risk in general population. If convicted, Kelly could spend the rest of his life in prison. R. Kelly’s plea comes as lawyer Michael Avenatti tweeted that he planned to hand over another graphic video of Kelly sexually abusing an underage girl. He is due back in court next month for owing $161,663 to his ex-wife, Andrea in an unrelated child support case.

R. Kelly Charged with 10 Counts of Aggravated Sexual Abuse

Last month, we reported that R. Kelly is under criminal investigation for allegedly grooming women to be his sex slaves in an abusive “sex cult.” Survivors have come forward and shared their stories for years, but nothing changed … until Friday. R. Kelly is now facing a number of disturbing charges, most of which are related to the sexual abuse of a minor. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that R. Kelly has finally been charged. He faces ten counts of aggravated sexual abuse in Cook County. Nine of the ten charges specify that the victims were between the ages of 13 and 16. On Friday afternoon, it was reported that a judge is expected to sign an arrest warrant for the rapper that day. Kelly’s court date has already been set for March 8. This is fantastic and long-overdue news (and just in time for what has otherwise been a dismal Black History Month full of disappointments). But unfortunately, some of the details of this case are … truly disgusting. Apparently, it was attorney Michael Avenatti who gave police a video featuring a man who appears to be R. Kelly. In the video, the man is having sex with a young woman who appears to be underage. During the video, the man is reportedly shown urinating on the young girl in question. Also during the video — and it is unclear if this is happening during the urination — the man is heard discussing the girl’s body. He apparently “refers to her body parts as 14 years old.” The video in question is said to be 45 minutes in length. Michael Avenatti spoke to CNN in an interview and explained how he came to be certain that the tape depicts R. Kelly. “My client knows the identity of the girl and R. Kelly,” Avenatti said. “He identified the two of them on the videotape.” “He worked for and has known R. Kelly for decades,” Avenatti continued. “And he met the girl on a number of occasions.” Mere moments before the charges were announced on Friday, Avenatti posted a powerful subtweet. “It’s over,” he tweeted. Despite reports of the tape coinciding with these new charges, it has not been confirmed that the charges stem from the tape. It is also unclear what other evidence is involved in these charges. R. Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, said on Friday that he has not yet been notified that his client has been charged. Greenberg spoke to the Associated Press last month to categorically deny all of the things for which R. Kelly is infamous. “[Kelly] never knowingly had sex with an underage woman, he never force anyone to do anything,” Greenberg told the AP . He continued his denials: “he never held anyone captive, he never abuse anyone.” R. Kelly was previously acquitted in 2008 after allegedly appearing in a similar sex tape. At the time, many believed that his celebrity status and high-priced legal team had contributed to the jury’s finding. Even before the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries brought so much to light, many wondered if he would be so lucky a decade later. The #MeToo movement helped bring a lot of social awareness about how powerful men use fame and fortune to get away with despicable deeds. Notably, the tape that may or may not be part of the evidence behind these charges is said to contain the infamous identifying mole. In 2008, Kelly’s attorneys argued that the appearance of the mole was actually a glitch in the video. Perhaps modern video technology will make that argument less convincing before a jury. Even before Avenatti came forward with his client’s tape, other investigations were underway. Of particular note was what appeared to be an FBI investigation into some of the women believed to still be Kelly’s captives. The FBI neither confirms nor denies ongoing investigations of this nature, but at least one agent sought information from families of these women. Based upon numerous accusations from women who have escaped what has been described as a sex cult, Kelly has a pattern with adult women. He is said to seduce them, flatter them, and slowly distance them from friends, family, and their profession. That, multiple survivors say, is when he becomes physically abusive and coercive, inflicting violence or starvation to punish disobedience. He is also reported to have an interest in underage girls whom he “trains” to serve him. Friday’s charges are welcome, but long overdue. We hope that justice is done. View Slideshow: R. #Free21Savage: Black Lives Matter Starts Petition To Stop 21 Savage’s Deportation

Source: Prince Williams / Getty The Group Goes After ICE’s Targeting Of The Black Community On Sunday, the Internet was left in shock when word hit that 21 Savage was arrested by ICE and could be deported to the U.K. Well the Black Lives Matter network isn’t about to sit around and not do anything about the rapper’s detainment. The movement’s co-founder Patrisse Khan-Cullors started a petition on OrganizeFor.org  demanding a stop to 21’s deportation. The petition explains how 21, born She’yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, is just one example of a larger issue of Black deportation: “The circumstances of Mr. Abraham-Joseph’s detention stand as a testament to the consistent and historically under-reported harassment and targeting of Black immigrants,” the petition reads. “The US’ violent history of criminalizing Blackness intersects with its deadly legacy of detaining and deporting Black and Brown immigrants. This needs to stop today!” The petition is aiming for 200,000 signatures and has already received over 128,000 as of Tuesday morning. The hashtag #Free21Savage has also been created to push the cause. According to WSB-TV 2 , 21’s legal rep Charles Kuck released a statement saying 21’s arrest was “based upon incorrect information about prior criminal charges and [ICE is] now refusing to release him on bond of any amount, despite the fact that he has a pending U-Visa application (as the victim of crime) with USCIS, and that he has relief from removal available to him.” A U-Visa is a special category for victims of specific crimes “who have suffered mental or physical abuse and are helpful to law enforcement or government officials in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity,”  according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Only 10,000 U-Visas are available every year. Kuck didn’t explain the incident based on which 21 applied for the visa. Kuck said that his client isn’t currently being charged with any crimes, thus 21’s detainment is a “civil law violation” and “serves no other purpose than to unnecessarily punish him and try to intimidate him into giving up his right to fight to remain in the United States.” Kuck also mentioned that “Mr. Abraham-Joseph has US citizen children that he supports and is eligible for relief from deportation. We and he will fight for his release, for his family, and his right to remain in our country.” If you’re interested in signing the petition for 21’s release, you can check it out here .

Mo’Nique Drags Whoopi Goldberg: She’s ‘Always Been The Help’

Source: Blackbird Film Fest Team / Blackbird Film Fest Team In a recent interview with Vulture , Mo’Nique didn’t hold back and had some choice words about Whoopi Goldberg . “She’s always been the help,” the Oscar winner said about her fellow Oscar winner. See, her comments were related to the last time she was in the hot seat The View discussing her career and 2018 Netflix boycott for offering a measly 500K for her own stand-up special. Apparently, Whoopi told her she could have “schooled” the veteran comedian on how to understand contracts. “When you have a woman saying, ‘I could have schooled you,’ someone would say, ‘What was the schooling going to be?’ When I look at this woman you say is our icon and our legend — she is,” Mo’Nique stressed. “But, how many things has Whoopi Goldberg executive produced? Whoopi Goldberg has always been the help, and I say that humbly. So what is it that you’re going to school me on? I’ve been doing it for almost 30 years.” (FACT CHECK: Vanity Fair pointed out that Goldberg has actually produced 30 projects, but we digress.) In addition, the actress brought up some of Whoopi’s own problematic past. “This is a woman who says ‘I could have schooled you,’ and this is a woman who accepted Ted Danson in blackface, and our community praises this woman,” she added. “So often times, we do it to ourselves. But, I just can’t. Understand, I love my sister. However, when you know you’re being fed the wrong food, you must say, ‘I can’t chew this, y’all.’” Mo also shared some details about a behind the scenes conversation she had with Whoopi, expressing to The View co-host that she hoped her boycott would help the future queens in comedy who should know to demand their worth. According to her, Whoopi wasn’t having that either. “In that moment I knew I was looking at a woman who didn’t give a damn about me,” Mo’Nique said. “And if she’s telling me, ‘Stop worrying about that little girl who not here yet,’ well, she forgot about the ones that came before her who were worried about her.” Welp! Mo’Nique called Whoopi “the help.” pic.twitter.com/H0ajGSBYPS — [kie.ran] (@danblackroyd) January 25, 2019 Mo wasn’t done though. In that same interview she kept it 100 about Tyler Perry. Remember, last summer she released a secret recording of the director and Precious executive producer telling her she had been mistreated by those in the industry and how her career stalled after winning the Academy Award. Caught on tape, Perry claimed he was going to speak up for her. Yet, let Mo tell it, that never happened. “Here’s the thing: he’s never done it,” Mo’Nique said. “We had given Tyler Perry a year to keep his word. Brother, you said you were going to come out and say something. Well, you never came out and said anything. And what was disheartening was people who were saying, ‘How could you tape him?’ But, they weren’t saying, ‘Oh my God, did you hear what he said? He said she wasn’t wrong.’” She continued, saying, “We didn’t accept any money.” Neither Whoopi or Tyler have responded to Mo’Nique’s comments. FBI Investigating R. Kelly For Allegedly Arranging Cross-Country Flight For Underage Girl

Source: Stacia Timonere / Getty After get dropped from his record label and multiple police investigations underway, the walls continue to close in on R. Kelly . Reports are now saying that the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer is being investigated by the FBI. FBI Investigates R. Kelly for Flying Underaged Azriel Clary Over State Lines https://t.co/u8gn9YCTwk — TMZ (@TMZ) January 27, 2019 According to TMZ , the 52-year-old “allegedly arranged a coast-to-coast trip for  Azriel Clary  when she was underage, and the FBI is now looking into the trip to see if R. Kelly committed a federal crime.” Remember: Clary’s parents were featured in the Lifetime docuseries, “Surviving R. Kelly.” seeing that last scene I filmed with the Clarys made me lose it. that night will stay with me forever. thank you @dreamhampton for your bravery, and every person involved. we won’t rest until R. Kelly’s brought to justice and these girls come home #SurvivingRKelly pic.twitter.com/lopaki7H3s — amilli (@frotasia) January 6, 2019 Apparently, Azriel was supposedly “flown from Palm Springs to Phoenix to Orlando on May 25, 2015. She flew US Airways, leaving Cali at 6:57 AM and eventually landing in Florida at 4:09 PM.” This matters because the young singer was only 17 at the time, which means that Kelly may have violated the Mann Act, which makes it “illegal to transport a minor across state lines for purposes of sex, debauchery or prostitution.” A source told TMZ that one of his  assistants booked the flight. Kelly’s lawyer told the gossip site that his client is innocent. “Mr. Kelly has not violated the law. Certainly not the Mann Act. The story has flawed factual predicates. Beyond that, we remain unaware of any investigation, anywhere.” In addition, sources claim that the singer also believes he hasn’t done anything wrong because there is an alleged note that Azriel’s mom wrote giving the singer permission to have the teenager fly. Worst Behavior: Drake and Odell Beckham Jr. Are Being Sued Over 2018 Nightclub Fight

Source: Vivien Killilea / Getty Drake And Odell Beckham Jr Are Facing Some Legal Trouble Drake and Odell Beckham Jr.  are both involved in yet another another legal battle. According to  TMZ , the two entertainers were slapped with a lawsuit over a physical altercation that went down in West Hollywood. Surveillance footage obtained by the outfit showed the plaintiff, Bennett Sipes, getting attacked on March 24, 2018 while inside the Delilah nightclub. Drake and Odell were among the group of people present and watching the fight go down. Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend, Younes Bendjima, was one of the men seen assaulting the plaintiff. According to legal documents, Sipes claims that he got into a verbal confrontation with the defendants while he was inside the venue. He said that as he began leaving the VIP area, he witnessed Drake make a “throat slash” hand gesture, which he took as a threat. The defendant claimed that he then attempted to enter the restroom, but was stopped by a group of men that included both Drake and Odell, along with their respective entourages. Sipes is alleging that Drake and Odell ordered the attack on him, which has allegedly resulted in “extreme mental anguish and physical pain.” He is also suing Bendjima for the physical altercation as well as Delilah nightclub for not providing adequate security inside the venue. While speaking with TMZ , Sipes’s lawyer said that they tried to settle this case out of court, but were ultimately unsuccessful. “We gave the defendant’s months to settle this claim without litigation, but when they failed to be accountable for their actions, we were left with no choice but to file suit to seek justice for our client,” attorney Colin Jones said. Sipes is seeking unspecified damages.
