Sara Haines Signs on for The View

Sara Haines is ready to share her view with the world. (See what we did there?) The reporter – who had been serving as lifestyle anchor for Good Morning America Weekend and also as a correspondent for ABC News – has officially signed on as the latest panelist on The View. She will make her debut this September as the newest member of an ever-rotating cast of occasionally funny characters. Earlier this month, Whoopi Goldberg signed a new deal to remain lead emcee of the program, which will also bring back Joy Behar and Paula Faris. Michelle Collins only lasted one year on the series, while it’s unclear at the moment whether Raven-Symoné or Candace Cameron-Bure will be retained. So, what do we know about Sara Haines? She was born and raised in Newton, Iowa and she’s the second of four kids. A 2000 graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, Haines has a degree in Government and actually played both basketball and volleyball for the school. Haines kicked off her reporting career as part of NBC’s Page Program, eventually becoming Today’s fourth hour contributing correspondent, a role she departed in 2013. This is when she joined ABC. On a personal level, Haines lives in Brooklyn… has two chihuahuas … is married to Max Shifrin … and welcomed a son into the world this March. Will she make you more likely to watch The View? Jon Gosselin: Not On Speaking Terms With Twins Maddie and Cara

Someone send Jon Gosselin on an Eat Pray Love retreat. The former TLC star and unofficial Ed Hardy model hasn’t been in the best place since his 2008 divorce from Kate Gosselin. A month ago, one could have said that Jon was doing pretty well as an employee with his local T.G.I Friday’s.  Alas, TMZ ruined everything by outing him, a move that made Jon so furious that he quit. To make matters worse, Jon donated his weekly check to charity (this was confirmed by the restaurant manager). Jon is allowed to feel a little bitter. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight , Jon revealed what his life is like these days as a single dad . He doesn’t see his kids much, which might affect him more than he lets on. “Everybody used to come to my house,” Jon said of his eight kids – twins Maddie, Cara, and sextuplets Alexis, Hanna, Leah, Joel, Aaden and Colin. “You know, it was great, and then Madelyn and Cara just stopped coming, around 12-13 [years old]. I didn’t question it. I was just like, ‘Hey, do what you want, be with your friends’ and then it just became they’re not coming.” The number of Gosselin visitors then dwindled to six. “I was just focusing on the ones that did come and then a couple years went by and then Collin stopped coming. I thought, maybe he just wants to do stuff with Mommy or whatever, and then it became long term.” In fact, Colin and his dad haven’t seen each other in two years.   The last time Jon saw all eight children at once was three or four years ago. Jon told ET that he hasn’t seen all eight of his children in one place in three or four years.    “The kids that I do get are Hannah, Leah, Joel and Aaden. I guess the four have stuck together and said, ‘We’re going to Daddy’s and that’s it.’ And maybe they’ll raise a stink about it or something like that. “Sometimes I get Alexis but not often.” As for his first-born daughters, Jon admitted that they’re not on speaking terms right now. The fractured relationship Jon has with many of his children may stem from the non-existent one he has with Kate. We have our life with our kids separately. We don’t go anywhere together.” Jon decided to leave reality TV to work odd jobs in between his DJ gigs. You know, I kind of walked away from everything so that my kids can have a life,” he said. “So that they would be taken care of, in their house, and things wouldn’t change, because I knew I could survive.” On July 26th, Jon issued a threat to the media via Twitter about protecting his family’s privacy. “In the future, don’t tag me in posts with my ex,” he tweeted. “It’s uncalled for and causes drama. Kris Jenner Injured in Car Crash: Is She Okay?!?

Kris Jenner has been involved in a serious car accident. According to TMZ, which broke the story, Jenner was driving her white Rolls-Royce on the 101 Freeway on Wednesday afternoon when she collided with a Prius. The force of the impact was so strong that it deployed Jenner’s airbag and destroyed the front end of her expensive vehicle. An insider close to the Kardashians tells TMZ that the Prius ran a red light, although law enforcement officials have not revealed the cause of the accident just yet. One source supposedly in the know tells the site, however, that Kris was driving on a surface street when the Prius cut in front of her, attempting to get onto the 101. This is what created the collision. Jenner, who bought the Rolls Royce just a week ago, was treated on the scene by paramedics. She may have suffered a broken wrist. We can’t blame her. It sounds like it was pretty scary. The only family member thus far who has commented on the situation is Kylie Jenner , who Tweeted a response to to a concerned fan who asked about the ordeal. “I was not involved in the accident. Everything’s okay,” Kylie wrote. In February of 2015, Kris’ famous ex-husband, Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn, of course), was also involved a very serious car crash. It actually left one woman dead and seven injured . We often make a lot of fun of Kris Jenner because… well, she deserves it. She typically seems more concerned with her bank account than with her children’s well-being. But we certainly never wish any kind of physical harm on any of the Kardashians or Jenners. We hope Kris recovers fully and recovers quickly.

Cara Delevingne Covers Vogue, Totes In Love With Girlfriend St. Vincent

I always feel compelled to defend someone with similar eyebrows, and Cara Delevingne is no exception. The former Burberry model and star of Suicide Squad landed the highly-coveted September issue of Vogue , a month so significant in the publishing world, it had a movie named after it. Around this time last year, Delevingne revealed that she was in a relationship with singer St. Vincent , 33. This year, she’s in love.  She’s in love, and she doesn’t care who knows it! “I’m completely in love…Before, I didn’t know what love was—real love,” the Brit said in the new issue (shot by Mario Testino). “I didn’t understand the depth of it. I always used to think it was you against the world. Now I know the meaning of life is love. “Whether that’s for yourself or for the world or your partner.” Cara Delevingne Suffers Through Most Awkward Interview EVER If you want to label her as gay, then go for it.  Delevingne isn’t much into labels (see what I did there?). “It took me a long time to accept the idea,” she said.  “As a child, I used gay as a bad word, as in, ‘that’s so gay.’ All my friends did. “I’m obviously in love, so if people want to say I’m gay, that’s great. But we’re all liquid—we change, we grow.” As for her newfound career, Delevingne doesn’t see herself stopping anytime soon. “I would probably still do it even if I wasn’t paid at all,” she said. “But in terms of equal pay I need to be paid the same as the guy who has equal billing with me. Otherwise I won’t do it. Because if you accept less, you’re just letting everyone else down and continuing the cycle,” she added. “I’m still learning. I act for love. I give it my all.” The September issue of Vogue hits newsstands August 4th.

Javi Marroquin Shares Staged Photo, Gushes Over Kids

Javi Marroquin may or may not have cheated on Kailyn Lowry with her best friend . And Javi Marroquin may or may not now be trolling for dates on Twitter . But Javi Marroquin is definitely happy to see his kids. The Teen Mom 2 star returned home from his deployment in the Air Force last month, walking in the door at one point and being greeted by his six-year old stepson, Isaac, and his two-year old biological son, Lincoln. Marroquin shared a photo of the reunion on Instagram and included with it a very sweet caption that reads: “My world in one picture.” Of course, the scene would be a tad more sentimental if we couldn’t so obviously see the MTV cameraman in the foreground, filming this supposedly spontaneous meeting. The staged set-up doesn’t make Isaac, holding a “Welcome Home” sign, any less adorable. Nor does it make Lincoln and his big smile any less precious. But when you know you’ll be able to watch Teen Mom 2 online next season and see this scenario play out, well… that takes away at least a little bit of the emotion. It feels more like a scripted moment than a true moment of parental joy. After several roller coaster months, Lowry and Marroquin finally confirmed their plans to divorce in May. Since then, Marroquin has been accused of stepping out on Lowry in multiple occasions, prompting the couple’s eventual split. Lowry, meanwhile, has been suspected of having a same-sex relationship with a woman actually named Becky Hayter . We’re not sure what to believe, except that this is all very hard on the two most important people involved here: Issac and Lincoln. Lowry shares custody of Isaac with her ex, Jo Rivera, who also appears on the hit MTV docuseries. But Marroquin has grown very close to the toddler. “[Isaac’s] my best friend,” Javi said during the June 20 reunion episode of Teen Mom 2, adding at the time that he wants “all of us to be together” and blaming Lowry’s stubbornness for their divorce. Although Lowry still contends she plans to dissolve the couple’s nearly four-year marriage, the 24-year old did welcome her estranged husband back home via a sweet message via social media. “Welcome back! @javim9,” she wrote on Instagram yesterday. Dave Schwartz Dies; Weather Channel Meteorologist Was 63

Dave Schwartz has lost his battle with cancer. The Weather Channel meteorologist, who has defeated that horrible disease two times in the past, was 63 years old. “It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to let you know that Dave Schwartz has passed away,” the Weather Channel said in a statement on Facebook. “He was a fan and staff favorite because he so obviously loved what he did and had a unique ability to draw viewers into the fascinating world of weather.” Concluded the emotional message: “His passion for weather was contagious and inspired many to enter the field of meteorology. His passion and love of weather will never be forgotten, he will be greatly missed.” About a decade ago, Schwartz was given just a year to live after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. According to the station, he then suffered through an unsuccessful procedure to remove a tumor. However, after radiation and chemotherapy treatments and another procedure, he was deemed cancer free. Months later, though, his pancreatic cancer had returned… yet he found a treatment and became cancer free once more.  Last year, the beloved weatherman was diagnosed for a third time. After taking some time off and after receiving comments and messages of support from viewers, he addressed his battle with the illness on air. His co-workers at the Weather Channel remember him as “the most creative personality to ever appear on The Weather Channel.” Here is what Jim Cantore had to say upon his passing: “Everything was genuine about this wonderful man. He was everybody’s friend and that’s what he really wanted to be. “He made so many of us laugh, smile, and wish we were like him. He was so genuine and trustworthy – things that come from the soul and cannot be taught … “I’m so thankful he was on our team doing what he loved till the end of his time.”

Antonio Armstrong, Former NFL Linebacker, Killed by Son

An unspeakable tragedy has struck the world of professional sports. Antonio Armstrong, a former linebacker for the Miami Dolphins was shot and killed along with his wife in Houston, Texas. Police have confirmed that the main suspect in the crime is the couple’s 16-year old son. The young man’s name has not been released to the public due to his age, he has been charged with murder as a juvenile and is being questioned by authorities. According to a local NBC affiliate, the 42-year old Armstrong and his wife, Dawn, were found at approximately 2 a.m. after police responded to a 911 call. Dawn was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime. The ex-NFL player was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and listed in critical condition… but later passed away from a gunshot wound to the head. The couple’s two other kids were at home at the time of the incident, but were unharmed. Those familiar with the family are attempting to come to grips with how this could have happened. “This was an outstanding family. The male of the family was an absolute hard-working breadwinner,” local homicide lnvestigator Jimmy Dodson said, via KPRC. “He was an associate pastor in the area church. He’s a great guy. The mother was apparently a great mother, according to family members. “Like I said, it was kind of the all-American family.” Investigators who searched the southwest Houston residence discovered a still-smoking gun with a note next to it that reads “I’ve been watching you.” Police then arrested the 16-year-old boy. “There was nothing left out. There was no neglect or anything. There was nothing that even could possibly have justified this situation,” Dawn Armstrong’s cousin, Vaun Lee, told reporters. “This doesn’t even make sense. It makes no sense.” Prior to turning professional, Armstrong was a college football star at Texas A&M, where he played for the Aggies from 1991 to 1994. The university released the following message on Twitter soon after the horrible news broke: Armstrong was named first-team Associated Press All-America linebacker in 1994 and was drafted in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He was released that October after suffering an ankle injury and signed with the Dolphins, with whom he recorded four solo tackles his room season. “Antonio was a special young man. He was an All-American and an outstanding player, but he was an even better person,” his former head coach at A&M, R.C. Slocum, said in a statement. “He was such a positive influence on his teammates. He always had a great big smile and was a joy to coach.” The Dolphins said via statement that they were “saddened by the tragic” deaths, adding: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.” A GoFundMe page, meanwhile, has been created to help the family in the aftermath of the shooting; thus far, it has raised over $53,000. “Let’s rally around this family and show them how much we loved Dawn and Antonio, and that we will miss them and their big hearts dearly,” the page reads. Bikini-Clad Police Officer Makes Sexiest Arrest Ever

They say there’s no rest for the weary. But there’s also no rest for a police officer, not even when she’s out sunbathing with friends. A member of the Stockholm Police Department for the past 11 years, Mikaela Kellner was off-duty and taking it easy on Tuesday when a man claiming to sell magazines for homeless people came up to them. Kellner and her pals turned down his request to purchase some publications, but the man kept hanging around. This prompted suspicion on the part of the long-time cop. “I told my friends to keep an eye on their things,” Kellner said, according to UPI.com. “But as soon as he left, one of my friends said, ‘Where did my mobile phone go?’” Assuming the man had used a magazine to cover up the stolen item, that’s when Kellner sprung into sexy action, sprinting after the culprit despite only wearing a bikini at the time. “There was no time, so I ran after him, maybe 15 meters or so,” she told TheLocal.se. “One of my friends is also a police officer, so we got hold of him. He tried to get away so we held onto him harder.” A bystander snapped the following photo and it has since gone viral: What was Kellner thinking during the chase and takedown? Nothing, really. “I did not hesitate. Had I been naked, I would have also intervened,” she told Aftonbladet.se. “There was nothing stopping me, but it was a little comical that I grabbed him in a bikini.” Indeed it was. But maybe not unexpected for Kellner. A fitness fanatic, she shares many photos of herself post-workout on Instagram. LeAnn Rimes: Brandi Glanville Destroyed My Confidence!

For a while there, it looked like LeAnn Rimes and Brandi Glanville had ended their feud . Both parties made the truce official on social media, and Brandi even wished LeAnn a happy wedding anniversary , which couldn’t have been easy, what with LeAnn being married to Brandi’s ex-husband and all. Anyway, it looks like those days are officially done. Maybe it’s because LeAnn has an album to promote. Maybe she’s pissed off about reports that Brandi is dating Dean Sheremet , who happens to be LeAnn’s first husband. Whatever the case, LeAnn is back to throwing subtle shade at Brandi in interviews. (And, we’re guessing, hoping that Brandi gives it right back to her, so as to drum up some good press.) In a new interview with a UK newspaper, LeAnn was asked point-blank if she gets along with Brandi. She responded in the affirmative – before immediately throwing shade: “Um, yeah, at the moment! It’s been a rough road. I do not recommend it or wish it on anyone. My confidence got knocked down a lot and I had to find my way back.” Is she really throwing herself a pity party over how tough it was to sleep with a married man while she was also married?! We’re guessing Brandi is having a good laugh over that one. And tonight, once the wine starts flowing, we wouldn’t be surprised if she fires off a tweet or two in response. We’ll be waiting with out fingers crossed.

Hayes Grier Assures Fans: I’m Okay!!!

Listen closely. Do you hear that sound? It’s the sound of millions of young teenage girls letting out a sigh of relief. How come? BECAUSE HAYES GRIER IS OKAY, FOLKS! The Internet sensation still has a long road to go before he is in prime physical condition, but the 16-year old used social media on Friday to assure fans that he’s up for the challenge. On Thursday, Grier was involved in a serious dirt biking accident. It’s unclear exactly what went down, except that the crash took place in North Carolina and Grier’s brother was VERY concerned soon after it went down. He tries to keep fans apprised of his sibling’s condition, but the concern came through loud and clear from Nash Grier. “He can move & talk (thank god) but he’s coughed up a lot of blood. That’s all I know,” Nash originally Tweeted, later adding: “Praying he has a quick recovery… Damn I hate hearing s–t like that on the phone, scared me to death.” But now Hayes has taken to Twitter to calm both his brother down and his legion of followers down. “Doing good guys, little banged up but we’ll be alright. Part of having fun,” Grier wrote along with the photo above, which was obviously snapped of him in the hospital. In a subsequent message on Twitter, he added: “thank you for the good wishes.” In addition to his own social media, Hayes re-Tweeted a number of media reports about his crash. Soon after word spread that Hayes had been injured, the hashtag “#PrayForHayes” proceeded to spread on Twitter. It’s understandable why. Just 16, Grier has amassed 3.53 million Twitter followers… 5.3 million Instagram followers… 4.4 million Vine followers … and 848,000 YouTube subscribers. Hayes had been back home in North Carolina, filming his new comedic docs-series, “Top Grier,” when the accident occurred. The program centers around him returning to Mooresville, where he attempts to run his family’s 19-acre farm. It is schedule to consist of 12 half-hour episodes that can be viewed on Verizon’s Go90 via mobile devices. He competed on Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars (see below) and made it to Week 7. We wish him a speedy recovery!
