It’s been four years since August Alsina gave an official interview, and so much has gone on in the star’s life since then. The Shade Room caught up with the “I Luv This” singer and he dished on everything fans have been wanting to know during his hiatus, including the status of his relationship with Jada Pinkett-Smith and how he’s been holding up since his sister’s death. Aug got emotional when asked how he’s been feeling: “I’m going through my process. I’m going through my journey. And I’m not looking for any sympathy because I know that God has me even when I feel that God doesn’t. Even when I’m talking to God in a rage and I can’t hear God responding to me. I’m just in a space where I know that there are certain things you can learn about God through suffering.” The tears continued to fall as he opened up about getting custody of his nieces after his sister’s death. “While I’m suffering, and while I’m watching my nieces suffer — who are my kids now— to hear them tell me ‘I want my mother and I want my father’. And them seeing me as a person who can always fix something for them. And this is a situation that I can’t fix. I just continue to walk by faith and not what I see. Because people are dying.” Fortunately, it looks like August is back in good spirits since the emotional interview. The singer took to her social media pages to announce the good news, along with a long heartfelt caption about how much she’s looking to motherhood. Within her sweet post, the Oakland native reveals that she’s had a hard time hiding her pregnancy since she’s always so open with her fans–but that doesn’t mean she’s revealing who the “best friend” is that she’s having the baby with. “i’m looking forward to sharing my little world with you all… my partnership with my very best friend, our journey of conception, my choice for a natural home birth with my AMAZING midwives at @parteramidwifery and eventually… the little pumpkin! ” Kehlani wrote. So who’s the father….or mother??? Kehlani has talked in the past about identifying as queer, so maybe she’s taking this journey with a lady lover? Or could she mean her “best friend” Kyrie Irving? She did tweet that the baby is with “the only man on earth i trust,” but that’s the only real clue we’ve gotten so far. Thanks to her first official statement since nearly dying from a drug overdose, fans now know what Demi Lovato is thinking. But these same fans do not know where Demi Lovato actually is at the moment. And that may not change any time soon. According to multiple outlets, the troubled artist has left Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles and is on her way to a treatment center. Not even the sleuths at TMZ have figured out Demi’s exact location, however, except to confirm that she will be in rehab someplace located a distance from California. Aside from getting the star all the professional helps she needs, part of the basis for this move is to also get Lovato far away from some of the bad influences that had overtaken her life in the weeks leading up to her overdose. As previously reported, these toxic friends were never really friends at all. They didn’t push Lovato to overcome her dark side and her dangerous impulses; they encouraged these sides and impulses to come out. As a result, Lovato spent most of the night partying to weeks ago, only to be found hours later in a state of unconsciousness. An assistant called 911 and paramedics arrived just in time to save the singer’s life. TMZ writes that Lovato flew via private plans to a rehab center that an insider describes as “one of the nation’s leading facilities for addiction.” By our estimation, this will be Lovato’s third time receiving professional treatment in such a manner — and we just pray, as cliche as it sounds, that this third time in the charm. Per Radar Online, meanwhile, Demi will remain at her rehab center for a minimum of three months. She is reportedly set to take this treatment seriously, despite having previously scoffed at suggestions from those close to her over the past several weeks that she needs help. It took the star being rushed to the hospital in order for her to see their point. “She is scheduled to stay for 90 days,” a source tells Radar simply. This same source says that Lovato is not being held against her will. This is not a case of an involuntary psychiatric hold, known as a Sectio 5150, which means that Demi will be free to check herself out of rehab at any time. “Demi left the hospital over the weekend. She will get continued care at an in-patient rehab facility,” reports People Magazine, adding: “At the hospital, she was surrounded by family and friends that support her sobriety. They all want Demi to be the best she can. Demi is surrounded by a lot of love. She has people in her life that really care. “She has a long journey ahead, but with all the love, her journey could absolutely be a positive one.” Lovato was sober for six years prior to this relapse. She talked openly during that time about her previous hardcore drug use, her self-esteem issues, her eating disorder and even the suicidal thoughts she had at seven years old . We’ve always admired the singer for her honesty and for her mission to help other teens and/or young women experiencing anything close to what she experienced. The superstar posted an emotional note on Instagram yesterday, which marked the first words to come directly from Lovato since her hospitalization. This message included the following: I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet. I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time. I want to thank my family, my team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who have been by my side this entire time. Without them I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you. It’s been five months since Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth got married , and the despite their youth, the couple has wasted no time in taking on all the responsibilities of adult life. At 19, Joy-Anna is currently pregnant with her first child, and while she has yet to reveal any solid information about her due date, some fans believe she’ll be welcoming a little bundle of joy before the year is out. (If you crunch the numbers on that prediction, you’ll see why the rumors about Joy-Anna’s “shotgun wedding” have gained so much traction on social media.) The official explanation is that Joy-Anna got pregnant on her honeymoon and learned she was knocked up shortly after she returned home. Here’s the thing, short-tempered hypothetical reader–we absolutely agree with you. We firmly believe there’s nothing wrong with a 19-year-old living at home for a while. But by all accounts, the Duggars don’t share that belief–at least not in cases where said 19-year-old has already been married off. The Duggars are almost as big on self-reliance and refusal of handouts as they are on the Bible and procreation. Yes, it’s extremely ironic, considering they’ve famously begged for money from fans on numerous occasions, but the Duggars pride themselves on long hours and rugged individualism. Justin Bieber spent time with Selena Gomez this week, fueling speculation that he and his famous ex-girlfriend are back together. This doesn’t seem to be the case, however. Partly because Selena is in a committed relationship with The Weeknd; partly because we can’t imagine she would take Justin back after the way he treated her; and partly because Bieber is also in a committed relationship… … with Jesus Christ. We don’t mean to sound sarcastic or disrespectful. It’s been reported for several weeks now by several outlets that Bieber is more focused on his faith than ever before. Back in July, Bieber canceled the remaining dates on his world tour, allegedly due to his religious beliefs. The artist has been growing especially close to Hillsong Church leader Carl Lentz for awhile, so much so that fans are worried Bieber will actually give up music for the church. Referring to Bieber calling off a bunch of concerts this summer, an insider told TMZ the following at the time: “He made his decision based on spiritual soul-searching and his own view of the path in life he should be taking.” Hey, if Bieber is happy…whatever, right? That’s what matters. Earlier today, meanwhile, the superstar made another reference to his faith and the journey he’s apparently on, thanking another church leader, Josh Mehl, for seemingly playing a role in turning his life around. “I have learned so much from you, I’m a better man because of you,” wrote Bieber as a caption to the photo above, adding: “I’m a better friend because of you. You have been a true example of what Following Jesus looks like and I’m so grateful I get to walk through this life knowing you!” Pretty powerful stuff. Just a few weeks ago, manager and close friend Scooter Braun gave an interview in which he detailed just how far Bieber really had plummeted following his drunk driving arrest and other run-ins with the law/paparazzi. “It was worse than people realized,” Braun said . “I failed him day after day. We were living in hell because he was in such a dark place.” The music insider said others in the industry told him to give up on Bieber because “the kid was done,” making it clear that Bieber perhaps really did need to change paths. He was drinking a lot and partying all the time and his career was in danger. So don’t get mad at Bieber for taking a break now. Don’t pressure him to make new music. It sounds as though he needed the guidance of a church and various religious leaders to turn his life around and it sounds as though he’s found that. Katy Perry has no idea what you’re talking about. She’s probably giving you a quizzical side-eye right about now. She doesn’t know why you think she ever feuded with Taylor Swift. What a crazy notion! In a new interview with Australia’s Today show, the singer was asked – yes, once again – about her relationship with Swift. Despite rarely even saying each other’s names in public, the rivalry between these artists has been near the center of the celebrity gossip universe for years, ever since Swift released the diss track “Bad Blood.” It was pretty clearly written about Perry, with whom Swift allegedly has a beef due a disagreement over backup dancers back in the day. While promoting her latest album, Katy said Taylor tried to ” assassinate my character ” and made it sound as if the feud was only just beginning. But then the public sort of took Swift’s side… and then Swift made the ultimate passive-aggressive power move against Perry… and Katy quickly changed her tune. “I love her, I always have,” Perry told the Australian interviewer. “We’ve had our differences, but I just continue to say, ‘God bless her on her journey.’” That’s very cute of Katy to say. As the first song off her new record, Perry unveiled what most people assumed was her own diss track, seemingly clapping back at Swift via the single “Swish Swish.” It wasn’t well received, however. After receiving negative feedback for the way she went after Swift all these years later, Perry did a 180 several weeks ago and now talks as if the two are soul sisters. “I am ready to let it go,” Perry said on a recent installment of the Thrive Global Podcast, adding: “I forgive her and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her. There’s a lot of other things out there in the world that people need to be focused on. “God bless her on her journey. God bless her. Honestly.” Somewhere (and we really don’t know where because she’s gone social media silent for nearly a year now), Swift and her team must be having quite a good laugh over all this flip-flopping. Taylor has managed to win her war against Perry without ever mentioning her by name. Seriously, go back and look at all the stories The Hollywood Gossip and other websites have written about this rivalry. Try to find one instance in which Swift mentioned Perry or even hinted strongly that she had any problem with Perry at all. Go ahead. We’ll wait.
