Mark Wahlberg and Rose Bryne star in the new family comedy Instant Family from Paramount Pictures. Today on Extra Butter with Xilla Valentine I talk to the pair about their feel-good comedy. The movie follows Pete and Ellie, played by Mark and Rose, when they decide to start a family, only to end up in the world of foster care adoption. They in willing to take in one small child, but eventually fall in love with the idea of taking in three siblings, including a rebellious 15-year-old girl. Literally, overnight they go from zero to three kids and watching the new parents learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hope of becoming a family is completely hilarious. I went into this thinking a comedy about adoption, really! Surprisingly the movie really worked. Mark and Rose had instant chemistry on film, I asked them when did they know they had something. Mark said he knew it the moment Rose signed on to be in the film, “When we had our first table read rehearsal on the Sony lot, on a little soundstage and she is fantastic. Elle is such a great character, very well written, she is tough and no-nonsense. I loved the moment when she starts going in on her family and starts telling them what she’s going to do, after the idea of them being relieved that they weren’t going to adopt then she decides no we are going to do it, just to spite them.” The movie has some really funny moments that make you laugh but shows the difficulty of foster care. There is a scene where Pete and Elle are having dinner with the kids and the youngest daughter demands potato chips. You can see that clip in this episode. The pair kept showering each other with praise throughout the interview with Rose telling that Mark was a delight to work with revealing how he went to go serve the troops during his downtime filming. Instant Family is a funny film that is filled with heart and worth seeing if you need a feel-good movie or if this weekend’s big-budget blockbuster is sold out and you’re looking for another option. Source: Raymond Boyd / Getty The estate of the late Tupac “2Pac” Shakur has settled a years-long lawsuit that will bring to the masses at least two new 2Pac albums, and a possible third. A lawsuit brought forth by 2Pac’s late mother, Afeni Shakur, against the company that bought out Death Row Records has been settled and shelved material from her son will finally see the light. The Blast reports : According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Tupac’s estate filed documents this week stating the two sides have agreed to settle the suit. Shakur’s now-deceased mother, Afeni, had previously filed the case against Entertainment One, which bought Death Row a few years back, and claimed they were owed over a million bucks. Sources close to the deal tell us a cash settlement was made that will go to Tupac’s estate, but the estate will also be getting a ton of unreleased recordings the late rapper made. We’re told there are enough master recordings for at least 2, and possibly 3 new albums. As of now there is not a date set for when they will drop, but we’re told the plan is to start cranking them out ASAP. The trio better known to the masses as Little Brother rocked together for the first time in a decade in a crowd-pleasing set. Little Brother was not a scheduled act, but after booked act Royce Da 5’9 reportedly missed his flight, 9th Wonder got the gang together and back into action. Posts on the members’ respective social media account made the announcement official, and despite press in the past stating this moment wouldn’t happen again, it was clear the chemistry between the men has never wavered. Fans caught video of Phonte and Big Pooh pushing each other with 9th Wonder providing the backdrop per usual. While this moment certainly satiated fans of the group and sparked hopes of a return to making music, time will tell if the group will hop back into the studio to give listeners a new project. At this point, Julie Chen is as synonymous with Big Brother as racism, homophobia and stunning evictions. And yet fans of this long-running reality show are now refreshing their browsers every other minute in order to learn the answer to the following question: Is Chen about to say goodbye as host? Questions about Chen’s future on CBS in general are understandably prominent at the moment, considering she just left The Talk . The veteran panelist did so amidst a sexual misconduct scandal surrounding husband Les Moonves, who just lost his job as CBS President due to allegations that he forced himself upon multiple women a couple decades ago. In a video message that aired on Tuesday’s edition of The Talk ( is that not the dumbest name ever for a program?!? ), Chen told viewers that she simply needs to be around her family as much as possible these days. “Right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and young son,” she said rather simply. We wonder if the intense criticism that came Chen’s way last week also played a role in this decision. Upon signing off from Big Brother a few days ago, Chen showed obvious support for Moonves by attaching his last name to hers for the first time ever on air. Social media blew up over this move. Is it shocking that Chen is standing by her man? Not really. But many viewers were still aghast over such a public display because Moonves is accused of some pretty heinous stuff . Chen is expected to stay on as host through the Season 20 finale on September 26. They figure the less association CBS has overall with Moonves or anyone in his family, the better. If Chen does leave – and this remains a big IF – season 2 winner Dr. Will Kirby would reportedly be under consideration as her replacement. The same can be said, according to this tabloid’s sources, of Celebrity Big Brother runner-up Ross Mathews and Big Brother Canada host Arisa Cox. TMZ, meanwhile, claims that Chen wants to return to Big Brother and that the current plan is for her to do so… … IF Big Brother is renewed, that is. Forget Chen’s future on the show, this website writes . The future of the actual show is in question. So that’s where things stand at the moment. Many unanswered questions are out there.
