Scot Free: Redskins Baller Reuben Foster’s Domestic Violence Dropped By Florida State Attorney

Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty Reuben Foster’s Domestic Violence Charges Dropped The domestic violence problem among NFL players is still a major issue for the league. Today, one of their most recent suspects was allowed to walk away from his alleged crime unscathed. According to ESPN , San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster had the domestic violence against him dropped the State Attorney for lack of evidence. Prosecutors concluded there was insufficient evidence to file charges against Foster after “a meticulous review of the facts of the case,” said Estella Gray, director of communications for the State Attorney’s Office. Adonte Pointer, Attorney for the victim, Elissa Ennis, didn’t mince words in response to the State Attorney’s decision. “We’re disappointed. The prosecutor’s choice is yet another slap in the face to Miss Ennis, just like the one Mr. Foster gave her in Tampa,” Ennis’ attorney, Adante Pointer, told ABC News. “Elissa Ennis was fully ready to participate and hold him accountable. This is not a situation where she recanted, nor that the prosecutor had new evidence that it didn’t happen.” Just so that we’re all clear about what exactly Reuben was charged with… Tampa police said Foster and Ennis were involved in a verbal altercation and that “Foster slapped her phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest area, and slapped her with an open hand on the left side of her face.” Police said a 1-inch scratch was observed on her left collarbone. This incident followed a February 2018 arrest where Reuben was suspected of domestic violence and weapons possession. Charges were dropped when Elissa recanted her initial testimony that Reuben hit her. She then said the recant was lie during an interview on GMA. A “love” lie. Scot. Free.

Black Woman Venture Capitalist Aims To Revive Underserved Areas In D.C.

View post:

A Black venture capitalist is using her business acumen and resources to revitalize underserved areas in Washington, D.C. Through her company EB5 Capital, Angelique Brunner is intertwining community restoration, job creation and citizenship for foreign investors, Fast Company reported. This black female entrepreneur is rebuilding D.C. with foreign dollars—and a dream https://t.co/wl8wUU96Iw — Fast Company (@FastCompany) September 29, 2018 Brunner moved to the nation’s capital nearly 20 years ago and discovered neighborhoods that were in dire need of help, the news outlet writes. Many of the predominately Black communities that had been ravaged by the 1968 riots following the death of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were left with abandoned buildings and nearly no businesses for decades. Determined to evoke change in these neighborhoods, Brunner launched EB5 Capital. The company gives investors from other countries the opportunity to put money towards rebuilding D.C. neighborhoods in exchange for green-cards and a smoother journey to U.S. citizenship. Brunner—who was once the only Black woman in the venture capital world from the New York City to Atlanta area—believes the program is beneficial for all parties involved. “People are willing to invest in the United States for an expedited visa process. The only hitch is that you have to create jobs with the money they invest,” she told the news outlet. “We are focused on job creation, but livable cities require jobs and affordable housing. You can actually have financial gains in a neighborhood that don’t necessarily change the racial fabric of a neighborhood initially. To me, the only way to address the addition of economic opportunity is to consciously create mixed-income neighborhoods.” EB5 Capital has worked on projects that include the City Market at O Street and the city’s Columbia Place development. There have been several efforts to rebuild underserved communities throughout the country. In August, it was reported that former NBA star and business mogul Earvin “Magic” Johnson has his sights set on revitalizing neighborhoods in Baltimore . What The Hell??? Man Gets 160 Years In Prison After Molesting And Impregnating 10-Year-Old Girl

Getty Images Man Sentenced To Over 100 Years For Impregnating 10-Year-Old A man in Indiana was found guilty of molesting a 10-year-old girl multiple times, which eventually led to her becoming pregnant. Now, he had been sentenced to more than 100 years in prison. 34-year-old Nicholas Deon Thrash was sentenced to 160 years in jail with a minimum service of 132 years,  FOX59 Indianapolis  reported, citing the Grant County prosecutor. Thrash was found guilty of 10 counts of child molestation during his trial last month, the station reported. The victim was not named, but testified in court that Thrash had molested her at least 15 times. After just over an hour of deliberation, a Grant County jury convicted Nicholas Deon Thrash. The girl’s grandmother told Indiana news station  WISH-TV  back in May 2017, when Thrash was initially charged, that he was someone the whole family knew and trusted. “(The victim) was foremost in our mind during this case,” Grant County Prosecutor Jim Luttrull said. “We appreciate an enormous amount of people … who offered their assistance to the victim, for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and all the work they provided in the case.” The girl’s mother is also facing charges relating to the case, which include neglect and aiding in child molesting and assisting a criminal, according to reports from Marion-based newspaper the  Chronicle-Tribune . The young girl’s mother reportedly discovered the pregnancy as her daughter was trying on dresses for a school dance, which is when she instructed her to say a classmate impregnated her, not the 34-year-old family friend. Some reports allege that Thrash was the boyfriend of the victim’s mother. The Chronicle-Tribune reports that, in his testimony, Thrash said he did not deny that he was the father of the baby but maintained he never molested the victim. Instead, he claimed that the victim’s mother, his girlfriend Jennifer Lynn Hand, had inseminated the victim using his sperm. Prosecutors told FOX59 that the girl, after having recently turned 11, gave birth to a boy in September 2017. Thrash remained in the Grant County Jail as of Thursday.

Epitome Of A Bad Mother: NY Stripper Won’t Serve A Day Of Prison Time For Daughter’s House Fire Death

Stripper Mom Only Sentenced To 3 Years Probation For Abandonment Death Of Daughter Earlier this year, we reported on the death of a 2-year-old baby girl who died in a house fire while her momma was doin’ something strange for a lil’ piece of change. According to NYDailyNews , that momma, Leila Aquino, pleaded guilty to abandoning her daughter and was only sentenced to 3 months probation. PROBATION! The girl is dead and this bish gets PROBATION! What in the p***y-poppin’ hell is going on here?!? Leila Aquino, 21, wept in Brooklyn Supreme Court as Justice Deborah Dowling questioned her on the Feb. 23 incident inside her Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment. “I left my daughter home alone,” said Aquino, wiping away tears while pleading guilty to criminally negligent homicide in the death of her daughter Kaleenah Muldrow. “When I came home,” Aquino said, as her defense attorney consoled her, “There was a fire and she passed away.” Leila better thank God and her baby daddy because according to the report, the prosecutor spoke to him and he helped convince her to offer a no-prison time plea deal. Leila would have been facing four years in the bing had she taken the case to trial. Image via Facebook

No Justice: Experts Conclude That Shooting Of 12-Year-Old Tamir Rice Was ‘Justified’

This…is…some…bull…isht. Reviews Say Cleveland Officer Acted Reasonably In Shooting Tamir Rice Two “independent” experts have concluded the unarmed shooting death of Tamir Rice was justified. According to a retired F.B.I. agent and a prosecutor, officer Tim Loehmann acted “justifiable” when he shot the 12-year-old within two seconds for holding a toy gun. The New York Times reports: Two outside investigators looking into the death of Tamir Rice have concluded that a Cleveland police officer, Tim Loehmann, acted reasonably in deciding last year to shoot when he confronted the 12-year-old boy carrying what turned out to be a replica gun. Those opinions, reached separately by a Colorado prosecutor and a former F.B.I. supervisory special agent, were released Saturday night by the Cuyahoga County prosecutor, Timothy J. McGinty, whose office will ultimately present evidence in the case to a grand jury to decide on possible criminal charges. “The question is not whether every officer would have reacted the same way,” Kimberly A. Crawford, the retired F.B.I. agent, wrote in her report, which noted that Officer Loehmann had no way of knowing Tamir’s gun was fake. “Rather, the relevant inquiry is whether a reasonable officer, confronting the exact same scenario under identical conditions could have concluded that deadly force was necessary.” The reports, which were commissioned by the prosecutor’s office, come almost 11 months after the shooting outside a recreation center on Nov. 22, 2014. Both Ms. Crawford and S. Lamar Sims, the prosecutor from Colorado, said in their reports that they were evaluating Officer Loehmann’s actions under the United States Constitution, not Ohio state law. “There can be no doubt that Rice’s death was tragic and, indeed, when one considers his age, heartbreaking,” Mr. Sims wrote. But he added that “Officer Loehmann’s belief that Rice posed a threat of serious physical harm or death was objectively reasonable as was his response to that perceived threat.” SMFH…this is just the latest bit of tragic news surrounding Tamir’s death. What do YOU think about this situation???

Empire Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: You Can’t Keep Cookie Down

“You are the baddest b!tch ever, badder than the animals who currently populate your wardrobe.” – Anika, bowing down to the greatness that is Cookie On Empire Season 2 Episode 3 , Lucious may have gotten the last laugh at the end, but does anyone really think Cookie Lyon is down for the count? Watch Empire Season 2 Episode 3 Online If anything, she showed she’s even more formidable as an opponent and record company shot-caller. Where do we even begin with this woman? Maybe with the fact that she walks into her son’s pad and declares, “Hakeem, get yo black a$$ up! You know you gotta be on Sway in the morning!” Or the fact that her potential girl group members are expected to do push-ups ( real push-ups) in stilettos while berated about Beyonce’s work ethic. No, no, let’s go with the scene at the dinner table. The night Lucious got sprung from the slammer, he invited the family – 60 percent of which has deserted him for their own label – over for dinner. His motivation? To “eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow, we war.” That is … unless they “dismantle this little Lyon Dynasty and all will be forgiven.” Cookie and Hakeem insisted they don’t need him, Lucious called the duo’s bluff, saying they can’t eat without him because all they have is pride. Which he adds, tastes chewy and disgusting. Then Cookie zinged him with this comeback: “I’m always gonna eat … just not with you.” Then she yanked the tablecloth out from under the dishes – slowly, but purposely – as she peaced out in a calm but deliberate display of EFF YOU. Game on, then. Lucious’ next move was to call in a favor from Anika to sabotage Lyon Dynasty, but given her propensity to meet with all parties, whose side is she on?! Andre, meanwhile, is desperate to get back into his good graces, and pitches him on acquiring a radio company with access to every urban market. When that didn’t work, Dre told him that Rhonda is pregnant (after he told Cookie, and which still feels like might be a red herring). Lucious’ reaction? Fear, initially, given the flashbacks to his own bipolar mom, then bitterness, that his first-born son would actually try to use this to get what he wants. Guilty as charged, Dre? Again, something tells us that baby inside her isn’t real and this is about to boil over into a truly epic plot twist or 10. If you watch Empire online and see next week’s promo, he and Rhonda are caught in a thoroughly insane situation, for what that’s worth. The music this week was awesome, even if Jamal performing on Leviticus catwalk without Hakeem (but with Pitbull) felt wrong somehow. Speaking of ‘Keem, though, he was unreal, spitting mad game as he crashed the party with Timbaland (executive produces Empire music). Shown up and publicly at that, Lucious took Dre’s advice, buying the radio company and signing Valentina out from under Cookie and ‘Keem. Just moments before their radio debut, too. That was cold s–t, but not even Lucious Lyon can bat 1.000 when it comes to recruiting artists. Earlier, Jamal failed to sign Freda Gatz, a young rapper Lucious covets for the Empire, then got jealous at just how much Lucious cares. Lucious then approached her personally on the streets, but gunshots broke out during a rap battle, obviously, and she remains unsigned. Finally, he came face-to-face with the prosecutor in his case, who informed him that his case is still open and she WILL take him down. She boasted, curiously, that she had Vernon Turner stashed away where he couldn’t get at him. Hopefully no one asks Dre about that … View Slideshow: Empire Cast: Did You Know…?
