Nick Viall and January Jones: Dating!

We guess that Nick Viall won’t be giving Corinne Olympios that second chance after all. As bizarre of a match as this is, Nick Viall is dating … January Jones. It’s Bachelor villain meets X-Men villain. And it looks like things got started not too long after Nick and Vanessa Grimaldi parted ways. Whoops. Getting a date with your celebrity crush isn’t easy. Usually , anyway. It helps if you’re also a celebrity. Specifically, if you’re a famously gorgeous celebrity actress who happens to gush about her own celeb crush while on television. Speaking to James Corden, January Jones revealed that she is a Bachelor superfan, saying: “You don’t know if you like him or if he’s a scumbag, but that’s why I’m attracted to him, maybe” Most people might not be turned on by being called a scumbag , even if they’re called attractive in the same breath. Nick Viall is clearly not most people. (It probably doesn’t hurt that January Jones is almost absurdly gorgeous on top of being a talented actress with roles on Mad Men and in X-Men First Class ) According to Page Six , that’s how Nick Viall and January Jones met. Well, it’s how they ended up going out for drinks. Their source claims: “They’ve been dating for about two months.” And it started with her confession to James Corden. “She went on ‘The Late Show’ in ­mid-November and said Nick had reached out to her and tried to get her to lip-sync battle with him.” That would have been interesting to see. Emphasis on would have. “She declined, but then he asked her out to a drink and she accepted. They’ve been seeing each other since.” Of course, if Nick Viall was already trying to do a lipsync battle with her, perhaps there was already some mutual attraction. But let’s take a look at this timeline. Back in August, Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi broke up . If you’re still shocked when Bachelor couples break up … we don’t know what to tell you. Most of them do. It’s almost like reality television’s cameras don’t prompt people to be their most authentic, honest selves! (Who knew?!) Also, their split after 5 months was, by our count, Nick Viall’s  fourth failure to find love through the Bachelor franchise. Yikes. We can, at least, guess with reasonable confidence that pining after January Jones isn’t what ended things for Nick and Vanessa Grimaldi. It sounds like this new relationship started a couple of months later. Maybe this romance with January Jones is exactly what he needs to actually have a successful romance? Or maybe the Bachelor cameras weren’t the only problem, and Nick Viall was the common factor that ended things again and again. We hope not. Not for the notorious Bachelor villain’s sake, but for the sake of January Jones. She maybe wasn’t my first choice to play Emma Frost, but she’s great and she doesn’t deserve heartbreak. And let’s not forget that January Jones has a young son , folks. Dating gets more complicated when someone involved has kids.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. Throws Shade, Feuds with Jef Holm!

If you follow The Bachelor Spoilers , you have a pretty good idea of how this season is going to end. But what will be next for Arie and his new love? Arie’s former bestie  Jef Holm is betting $5k that Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s Bachelor relationship doesn’t last a year . Coming from a former friend, those are what you’d call fighting words . And Arie’s hitting back with some shade of his own. It doesn’t look like their feud is going away any time soon. Two days before the big announcement that he would be this season’s leading man, Arie Luyendyk Jr. dumped his girlfriend to become The Bachelor . That didn’t sit too well with some people. Because it made him seem hungry to build his brand rather than to find love, but also because it grossed some people out. His ex was, after all, a real person. With feelings. Jef Holm was more than happy to add fuel to the Arie-hating fire, saying of his former friend: “I stopped being friends with him years ago because he’s disgusting.” Holm then teased: “Oh, the stories I could tell….” And now, during the premiere of Arie’s season, Jef Holm has tweeted out an offer: “Doesn’t matter who gets out of the limo…I’ll give 5k to the charity of @chrisbha​rrison’s choice if @ari​ejr lasts 1 year with anyone.” That is perhaps the most vicious offer of charity that we’ve ever seen on Twitter. Arie Luyendyk Jr. responded, telling Access Hollywood : “[He’s] throwing a lot of shade, but we haven’t talked in four years since Sean [Lowe’s] wedding.” Arie’s response continues: “I have no clue [why Jef is bitter]. That’s kind of a question for him more than me.” Arie also says that Jef Holm “would have lost his own bet, I guess.” Ouch . Overall, Arie’s trying to be as dismissive as possible towards Jef without, you know, painting himself as the bad guy. “I have so much to concentrate on with this and I’m just trying to stay positive.” He also has a line that’s a bit tone-deaf for a guy sometimes believed to be selfish and egotistical: “I’m just concentrating on me.” Chris Bukowski had told Life & Style : “Obviously, he and Arie were like best friends and they’re no longer. They’re not friends” Bukowski, of course, had also made it into the Final Four. So he would know. “I don’t know the whole story because they were best friends and then they ended up hating each other.” We’d all like to know what exactly led Jef Holm to believe that Arie was “disgusting.” “Arie definitely has a better relationship with the show, the producers, than Jef does.” Clearly, since Arie is now playing the titular role on The Bachelor . “So, I don’t know if Jef is [now] reaching to sort of [stay relevant], but at the same time, it’s like Arie’s time.” We’d all love to know. If producers are really that fond of Arie, maybe they won’t be eager to give Jef Holm a platform. Or, maybe — when the season’s over — they’ll invite Jef Holm to speak his mind about Arie. We would be eager to hear what Holm has to say. Isn’t everyone? It may be that Arie’s fiancee will wish that she’d heard Holm’s take on Arie before she accepted his ring. Arie Luyendyk Jr: Too Old to Be The Bachelor? Too White?

For better or for worse, Arie Luyendyk Jr. is the leading man on this upcoming season of The Bachelor , and there are some people who are very unhappy about this upcoming season. And there’s more to that frustration than wishing that someone else were starring on the show. Is Arie Luyendyk Jr. too old? Is the cast of contestants too young? Are they all (or most of them) too white? Before you say it, this isn’t just about why Peter Kraus isn’t the Bachelor . Peter’s a fan favorite and, unlike precious puppy Dean Unglert, didn’t soil his reputation on Bachelor in Paradise . Peter was an easy pick to win. But, you know, fans think they know who’ll win The Bachelor based upon names and math, so … sometimes a fan theory is really just a guess. (Hint: if you follow The Bachelor Spoilers , you have a pretty good idea of how all of this is going to end) But showrunners felt that Peter wasn’t up for it, or maybe they just wanted to surprise fans by defying their expectations. And picking Arie certainly does that. That said, the concerns that fans have over this upcoming season ( The Bachelor will be upon us so soon, you guys!) are a little less personal and a lot more important. First of all, we have to talk about race. Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette was historic, and not just because Rachel was the franchise’s first black female lead. Though that, in and of itself, was a huge deal — and many are disappointed that The Bachelor did not follow in its sister series’ footsteps. Eric Bigger isn’t quite Peter Kraus … (Even Rachel Lindsay knows that, even though she’s thrown Peter under the bus at every opportunity since her season ended) … But some fans feel that he would have made a stronger, handsomer Bachelor. (Especially with that revenge beard!) And, quite frankly, even with Arie at the helm of the show, they could have made the contestants a little more racially diverse. Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette was historically diverse. Yes, she is black, and that was an amazing and embarrassingly long overdue bit of the bare minimum amount of inclusion for the franchise. But if you look at her suitors, you notice that they were a much more diverse crowd than we’re used to seeing — on The Bachelorette or The Bachelor . Nearly half of Rachel Lindsay’s suitors were men of color. Then we look at the women competing for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s “rose” (or “heart” or whichever euphemism you prefer), and see that the series has taken a step backwards. Finally, we need to talk about age. Nobody likes this topic, because time is cruel and unfeeling and robs us of all capacity for pride or joy with time, but we need to address it. Arie Luyendyk Jr. is 36. His absolute oldest contestant this season is 33. A 3-year age difference barely matters in college and is a blink of an eye when both people are in their thirties. Most of the women are in their mid-to-late 20s. There are a couple of women who are 23. And scuttlebutt is that Rebekah, whose age was conspicuously absent from early reports, may be as young as 22. Of course, people have whined about recent Bachelors being “too young,” allegedly wanting to increase their social media visibility instead of genuinely looking for love. (As if anyone believes that Arie’s here for love) All of these criticisms make sense. Diversity matters. Reasonable age ranges matter. But we have to wonder if The Bachelor is preparing to pivot. Perhaps their next leading man will be a 26-year-old man of color, and Arie is just the dull build-up to a groundbreaking 2019 season. In the mean time, take a look at Arie’s prospective mates, and decide for yourself if, beautiful though they all are as individuals, the make-up of the overall cast leans a little too young and  white . Tom Petty Dies; Rock Legend Was 66 (UPDATED)

On a day already rocked by the tragic mass shooting in Las Vegas , this news is not exactly welcome. But it would have been grim news on any day: Music legend Tom Petty has passed away at 66. Just a short while ago, TMZ reported Tom Petty’s condition, which took a turn for the worse and never recovered. Apparently, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member had been found unconscious in full cardiac arrest Sunday. He was, of course, immediately rushed to the hospital. EMTs were able to get a pulse in his Malibu home, but having a pulse doesn’t mean a recovery is necessarily in order. It probably goes without saying that spending minutes without oxygen pumping to your brain is never good. Even a matter of crucial seconds in such a state can be the difference from making a recovery and not. Unfortunately, despite Petty regaining his pulse and being spirited with all due haste to UCLA Santa Monica Hospital, it just wasn’t enough. TMZ ‘s sources say that he was immediately placed on life support in an effort to stabilize his vital signs. From the moment that hew as found, the Heartbreakers’ frontman’s condition was considered “critical.” Petty’s close friends and loved ones were reportedly upset but unwilling to disclose details about his condition or what may have led to it. To make matters worse, new information about the singer-songwriter’s health came just an hour or so ago. Upon arrival at the hospital, medical professionals determined that Tom Petty had no signs of brain activity. That means brain death, which in all terms save the standard used to declare time of death, meant that he was no longer living. The decision was made at that time to remove Petty from life support, and thus, multiple news outlets are now reporting his passing. Tom is, as we said, a Rock legend. (Honestly, I’ve had his massive hit, “Breakdown,” playing in a loop on my head as I’ve written this – and I wouldn’t even consider Rock to be one of my music genres. That’s the kind of reach that Tom Petty has) A lot of networks are playing his other hits, like “Free Fallin,'” “Mary Jane’s Last Dance,” “I Won’t Back Down” and countless others. Tasteful references to his work seem like a perfect way to honor him, and we expect to hear plenty of them in the coming weeks. Petty rose to fame in the 1970s with his band, the Heartbreakers. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. Tom was also a successful solo artist and performed with Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and George Harrison in the band The Traveling Wilburys. Though Petty and his band debuted their self-titled record in 1976, they continued to perform to packed arenas over the past four decades. He played his last show last Monday, performing three sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl to conclude their 40th anniversary tour. The Florida native will undoubtedly down as one of the most successful and beloved singer-songwriters of his or any generation. R.I.P. UPDATE: CBS News is retracting its original report that Petty has passed away. The singer has been removed from life support, but according to a hospital source, he’s currently “clinging to life.” We will continue to monitor the situation and bring you further updates as more information becomes available. 21 Hottest Bachelors in ABC’s History: Who’s #1?!

With  Arie Luyendyk Jr. confirmed as the Bachelor  and ready to capture the hearts of the Bachelor Nation, it's time again to talk about this: Which Bachelor is the hottest Bachelor of all time!? After all, even if ABC does scour the Earth for eligible gentlemen who are the total package … not all hunks are created equal. Arie Jr. will be the leading man on  The Bachelor 's 22nd season on ABC, making him the show's 21st Bachelor. (Brad Womack famously got two bites at the apple … and yet didn't get a happily ever after either time). Obviously, not everyone in the Bachelor Nation is totally agreed on who's hot and who's not, since aesthetics are subjective. But honestly, isn't that what makes a debate fun? Take a look at the ghosts of Bachelors past and see for yourself who's the hottest of the hot and where you think Arie should rank. (Whether or not a guy who  dumped his real life girlfriend for the role  just two days being cast is a good choice notwithstanding.) 21. Lorenzo Borghese If there were a Bachelor, and season of The Bachelor, that left less than a memorable impression, it might have to be Lorenzo Borghese. He is eminently forgettable. But he’s not exactly hard to look upon. 20. Andrew Firestone Is Andrew Firestone a contender for Hottest Bachelor Ever? 19. Bob Guiney Bachelor Bob Guiney starred in Season 4 of the ABC hit. No, seriously, he did. 18. Charlie O’Connell Not to be confused with his brother Jerry O’Connell, who’s starred on things like Sliders, Scream 2, and Crossing Jordan. 17. Byron Velvick The bass-fishing Byron Velvick had the outdoorsy thing going for him in Season 7, that’s for sure. 16. Travis Stork Travis Stork isn’t just a hunk and a gentleman. Scott Disick: REAL Reason For Hospitalization Revealed?

As we reported earlier this week, Scott Disick was hospitalized last month following an emotional breakdown that left friends so concerned about his welfare that they contacted authorities. Disick was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold, but released less than three days later after demonstrating that he did not present a threat to himself or others. As a result of Disick’s heavy drinking and recent downward spiral, it was widely assumed that his self-destructive lifestyle had finally caught up to the 34-year-old father of three. Now, however, sources close the Lord are revealing that the situation is more complex than it initially seemed. Sources close to Scott tell Radar Online that Disick’s hospitalization was tied to his drinking , but in an indirect fashion. It seems Scott has been struggling with an unspecified health issue for the past ten years, and his frequent drunkenness led him to stop taking his medications at some point over the past few months. “Scott started using drugs and alcohol as a way to escape from his problems,” one insider tells Radar. “However, the more he continued to drink, the worse his other problem became.” The nature of that “other problem” remains a mystery, but apparently, it was the basis for Kourtney Kardashian and Kris Jenner’s claim that Scott needed to be hospitalized for his own safety. Yes, it was Scott’s ex-girlfriend and his former mother in law who requested the psychiatric hold, a reminder that while he’s burned just about every conceivable ridge, the Kardashians are standing by Disick. just as they supported Lamar Odom during his recent troubles. “Kourtney and Kris had to sign off on Scott getting 5150’d on August 18 because they are the closest thing to a family that Scott has,” says the insider. Apparently, Kourtney and Kris were quick to recognize Scott’s symptoms, and they contacted the police as a precaution. Fortunately, when the time came to enter treatment, Disick reportedly went without a fight. “Kourtney and Scott know that the incident was caused by him not taking medications that he is prescribed,” says the source. “Scott was compliant with the hospital doctor’s orders and was released.” While there are reports that Disick is still drinking , his condition has reportedly stabilized. It may be a while before we find out the details of Scott’s hospitalization, but sources say Disick’s struggles will be featured on the upcoming season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians . The leading man of any season of The Bachelor is supposed to be the season’s protagonist, of sorts. You might root for a hopeful contestant, but by doing so, you’re rooting for the Bachelor himself, too. But what are viewers supposed to think when they find out that this next season’s leading man was, until very recently, dating one of the franchise’s most infamous villains? Because Arie Luyendyk Jr. is the next Bachelor … and until very recently, he was dating Courtney Robertson . Oh, and Courtney has shared exactly what he’s like in bed. So, Courtney Robertson won her season of The Bachelor . This was season 16, way back in 2012 — the year where some people thought that the world might end but, unlike 2017, it didn’t actually look or feel like we might all get wiped out in a combination of intense natural disasters and some sort of nuclear onslaught at any given moment. Courtney went onto that season, in which the leading man was Ben Flajnik, declaring that she wanted everyone to like her. (A lot of us can relate to having a pathological need to be liked — that’s not why she’s a Bachelor villain) The problem, of course, was that Courtney badmouthed just about everyone else on the show. Maybe that was just for the camera and doesn’t represent how she is in real life, but … it wasn’t a great look on her. She won, though. She did win. Obviously, Courtney Robertson and Ben Flajnik split back in the fall of 2012, but they actually stuck together for 11 months. That’s not nothing. After that, and until very recently, Courtney and Arie Luyendyk Jr. were dating off-and-on. According to Us Weekly , the off-and-on relationship that began in late 2012 between Courtney and Arie only ended a few months ago. “Courtney Robertson was still dating Arie on and off up until a few months ago,” the source revealed. That means that they spent five years doing this same dance. We’ve seen marriages that gave people less time together. “Arie still races and does real estate on his off season. Courtney got him into real estate!” We love that they talk about real estate like it’s a hobby. “Courtney has been living in Arizona for a year. She¹s doing real estate in Scottsdale and pretty happy, she¹s near her family.” Courtney’s from Scottsdale, so that makes sense. “Arie is based out of Arizona but still travels/races a lot.” Apparently he likes to travel a little too much. “That was part of the problem for Courtney with Arie: he will never stay in one place.” That sounds exhausting. We hope that the ladies competing in Season 22 are prepared for such a chaotic lifestyle. “But Courtney ultimately knew that it would never work out with Arie.” In her 2014 memoir, I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain , Courtney Robertson also spilled some details about sex with Arie. “He brought over takeout from Postino and two bottles of Brassfield’s Eruption wine and we closed the blinds. After we ate, we sat in the backyard talking. I found out that he dated someone connected to the show a few years ago and that’s how he ended up auditioning for The Bachelorette. ” Wow, that’s specific about what he brought over. “During his casting weekend in North Carolina, my finale had aired. Just when you think it can't get any worse than Kenya Moore going off on Porsha Williams, along comes Juan Pablo Galavis. And then just when you think the lowest rung of the reality TV ladder has been reached due to the outright racism of the Big Brother 15 cast, along comes Teresa Giudice actually going to jail due to financial fraud. And then just when you're willing to write these examples off as exceptions and embrace reality television again, along comes Josh Duggar confessing to sexual molestation and… well… … it doesn't get any more grotesque than that. Here is a look at 27 scandals that have absolutely rocked the world of reality television. 1. Josh Duggar Admits to Sexual Molestation That title says it all, doesn’t it? In the spring of 2015, Josh Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting fame apologized for molesting multiple young girls when he was a teenager. 2. TLC Cancels Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Give the network credit. It pulled the plug as soon as rumors spread of June Shannon dating her daughter’s former molester. EWWWWW! 3. Big Brother 15 Just the entire season, really. These homophobic and racist cast members caused us to lose faith in pretty much all of humanity. 4. Everyone Hates Juan Pablo Galavis Juan Pablo Galavis was asked about a potentially gay Bachelor and responded: “I respect [gay people], but I honestly don’t think it is a good example for kids to watch that on TV.” He then went out and sounded like an even bigger moron during the actual season. 5. Duck Dynasty Debate Phil Robertson also got in trouble for making homophobic remarks to GQ. He then issued a statement that read: “My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and mean are meant to be together. However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me.” 6. Jon and Kate Plus HATE Jon and Kate Plus 8 was once a beloved show on TLC. Until it was revealed that Jon and Kate actually hated each other and were kind of terrible people. View Slideshow
