It’s been two months since Jennifer Garner filed for divorce from Ben Affleck . Prior to that, Affleck and Garner were separated (but still essentially living together) for an astonishing 22 months We think it’s safe to say that when it comes to painful things, these two aren’t great in the follow-through department. Their oldest kid is probably still wearing the Band-Aid from the first time she scraped her knee. The point is, Jen’s taking this breakup so slowly she’s making Gwyneth Paltrow look like Elizabeth Taylor. Shortly after Ben left rehab , Jen finally pulled the legal trigger and filed for divorce, but moving on and rebuilding has been a very … slow … process. Earlier this month, Affleck finally moved out of the guesthouse he’d been occupying since June of 2015. Naturally, the long-awaited move prompted an immediate wave of rumors that Jen was having second thoughts and hoping to reconcile with Ben. Part of the speculation was just tabloid nonsense, but some of it is coming from reliable sources who say Jen has zero interest in re-entering the dating pool. “She’s certainly not jumping up and down and screaming, ‘I’m single!’ and planning dates. She still says Ben was the love of her life,” one insider tells People magazine. As for putting herself back out there romantically, the insider says: “She will eventually, but it will be a while before she does.” The reason, it seems, is not that Jen is still hung up on Ben (though that “love of her life” remark is a tad curious), but rather that she’s quite understandably taking this time to focus on her own peace of mind and the happiness of her children: “This has really been the most difficult decision for her. But it’s time to focus on the future,” the insider says, adding: “They want to be sure the kids are comfortable. THIS JUST IN: Ben Higgins is not a perfect person. You may have previously thought the ex-Bachelor star was infallible, but Higgins is here to tell you otherwise. Back in mid-May, Higgins and Lauren Bushnell finally broke up . The split was a very long time in the making, considering Higgins called off the couple’s engagement last fall (on an episode of their Freeform reality show, natch) – and considering there had been rumors that Higgins was still in touch with JoJo Fletcher . The latter allegation was never proven correct, but chatter about the twosome’s demise was clearly on the right track. “It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways,” Ben and Lauren said in a joint statement on May 15, adding: “We feel fortunate for all the time that we had together, and we will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. “We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time.” Your basic, run of the mill celebrity break-up statement for the most part. A few days after this split went viral, Higgins opened up about his failed relationship on a podcast. “Lauren will always be one of my best friends,” the former Bachelor said , adding on air: “It’s tough. It’s hard to say goodbye to somebody that you spent so much time with and it’s hard to say goodbye to somebody that you really did believe was the one for you.” But did Ben really believe this? Or did he string Bushnell along, after asking her to give up her career and move to Denver for him, no less? We may never know for certain, but Higgins has been under a great deal of fire on social media for his treatment of Lauren. And he’s finally had it. Taking to Instagram last night, Higgins went off on a nice little rant, slamming his critics and trying to explain that he never meant Bushnell any harm “I cannot focus on the negative comments or indecently hateful words being said about me or my relationship even though they do sting,” he wrote alongside a photo of himself and his podcast co-host Ashley Iaconetti. But Ben was far from finished. “I will once again clearly tell you I AM NOT PERFECT as none of us are and I have never claimed to be,” he wrote, going on as follows: “The last few months have not gone the way I would have preferred. My relationships have changed drastically and what I envisioned my life was going to be has been redirected. “It is sad, but it is nothing you should feel sorry for me about, life happens both the good and bad.” Ben apparently has been receiving some flak for starting a podcast, perhaps because folks this he only went on The Bachelor to further his professional agenda. “I do desire to show love in all situations (do I always do that? No, I fail often),” Higgins wrote in this same post, addressing this negative talk and adding: “To be clear, not that this should be a surprise, but this podcast is a professional decision I have made to enhance my life and career.” Higgins concluded his lengthy post by offering some life advice to his followers. Jenelle Evans sure has been busy lately, huh? But in between planning a wedding later this year, caring for her brand new baby girl, and fighting her mother for custody of her oldest son , she still managed to get into a fight. Both ladies made some outrageous but not necessarily unbelievable claims about each other — Jessica said Jenelle smoked weed while pregnant, for instance. Jenelle made a Facebook post about how Jessica’s husband smokes crack and how they both “pop xanax all day and lay around the house.” Jessica claimed that Jenelle used David’s daughter’s toothbrush to clean a toilet, and that the little girl is miserable around her. She also repeatedly referred to Jenelle as “mud duck.” It’s been a wild ride , but now, according to Jessica, it’s all over. In a new Facebook post, she wrote “So Im getting publicity now for NOT speaking on it. Look, the damage is done. But it’s really causing conflict within our family.” Yeah, if you publicly state that your brother’s fiancée is a lying, manipulative drug addict, it can cause some tension — who knew?! “My entire family means the world to me,” Jessica continued. “So yes if i can fix it i will, no matter what it takes. Sometimes u have to put things to rest and drop it.” “Like I said, i would rather my family be alright then to keep fighting. The beef isnt important. My family’s happiness is important.” Not one to pass up a chance for sass, she added “Now to take that into your little groups and toss it around like a ball.” “Be mad that i stopped the hate but im trying to please my parents and the rest of my family!” She finished with the hashtag “family first,” because of course she did. Zach Roloff is a brand new father. But he may need to face down some old demons in the years ahead. The Little People, Big World star welcomed a son named Jackson into the world on May 12, posing for a couple photos with the newborn and his wife, Tori. Said the reality star in a statement at the time: “Baby and mother are doing great and Jackson is already mastered holding daddy’s fingers and snuggling with mom! He is adorable and Tori and I are loving being parents.” Since this special development, Zach has opened up in more depth about his son. As relayed to People Magazine in an exclusive interview, the Roloffs learned that Jackson carried the dwarf gene (achondroplasia) when Tori was 34 weeks along. They broke this news to their family, but withheld the information from the public until just a few days ago. For Zach, the challenge that this will present is to ensure his child doesn’t suffer in the same way as he did while growing up. “I grew up with the name-calling,” the 27-year old tells People , adding: “I look at my childhood and being a boy on the farm, it was a little tough because boys are very alpha-doggy and follow the pack. “I was always chasing the back and way behind the pack. It was tough.” (Men with the genetic condition of achondroplasia grow an average height of 4’4″ … with a normal lifespan; babies, meanwhile, may experience breathing problems and delays in muscle development.) Having a son who is like himself means that Zach and Tori will need to be especially helpful and positive when it comes to how Jackson sees both himself and the world. But they are up for this unique challenge. “You have to encourage a dwarf child a little more because it will take them five steps to do what others can do in two,” explains Roloff. “But I knew, dwarf or not, I was going to parent my child with the mentality that not everyone gets a trophy. You have to earn it.” On an earlier episode of his family’s TLC series, Zach opened up to his mother about concerns for Jackson. Prior to the baby being born, Zach reiterated how his childhood was “tough” and how he was worried it would be the same for his impending son. “You can’t keep up,” Zach said to Little People, Big World star Amy, remembering what life was like for him many years ago. “You can’t out-climb the other boys on the trees, you can’t outrun the other boys…Remember when I would come crying to you?” Yes , Amy told her son. She did remember that. But there’s reason for optimism. There’s a reason for Zach to feel better about what may be awaiting his son once he enters elementary school and middle school. “The world is changing. People are more open to diversity,” says the reality star and soccer coach, concluding of little Jackson: “Whatever he wants to do, we’re going to find a way to help him do it. That’s our job in life now.” In the end? Jackson is happy and Jackson is healthy. “That’s all that matters,” Zach tells People. We’re approaching the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. On August 31, 1997, the beloved Royal icon was killed in a car accident after a high-speed chase with a paparazzo who was in full pursuit. It was a true tragedy, one that caused the world to stop, collectively mourn and react in sheer shock and sadness. Diana, of course, left behind two sons, both of whom have grown into widely-respected, very handsome and charitable adults. But neither has spoken out very much about the most painful experience of their lives; both Prince Harry and Prince William have remained relatively quiet about the fatal incident. Until now. Giving an unusually rare and raw interview with British GQ, the Duke of Cambridge is featured in a lengthy cover story this month. He sits down with Alastair Campbell for the July issue of the magazine and talks openly about this impending anniversary… what it’s been like without his mother today for himself and his loved ones… and how he’s managed his grief in the public eye. “I am in a better place about it than I have been for a long time,” Prince William tells the publication of the horrible accident. He goes on to explain that he is now capable of talking “about her more openly [and] more honestly and I can remember her better, and publicly talk about her better.” The father of two (a three-year old named Charlotte and a two-year old named George), William adds: “It has taken me almost twenty years to get to that stage. I still find it difficult now because at the time it was so raw.” The hardest part, explains the Prince, is the fact that his mother has never met his wife or his children. “I would like to have had her advice,” he says, adding painfully. “I would love her to have met Catherine and to have seen the children grow up. It makes me sad that she won’t, that they will never know her.” The 34-year-old – who took time to honor the Manchester bombing victims last week – went on to note that unlike some people, his grief almost seem magnified due to the public nature of his unique position in British society. “It is not like most people’s grief, because everyone else knows about it, everyone knows the story, everyone knows her. “It is a different situation for most people who lose someone they love, it can be hidden away or they can choose if they want to share their story.” But William has clearly grown into a responsible, intelligent, benevolent adult. He’s a husband and a father and, by all accounts, a very good man. “I could not do my job without the stability of the family. Stability at home is so important to me,” he says. “I want to bring up my children in a happy, stable, secure world and that is so important to both of us as parents. With Memorial Day kicking off the unofficial start of summer, a seasonal tradition – The Bachelorette Season 13 – is back and in full swing. (And The Bachelorette spoilers already tell us who wins … so don’t click the link if you don’t want to know how it all plays out). You sure as heck don’t need spoilers to tell you this much: Watch The Bachelorette Season 13 Episode 2 Online Rachel Lindsay’s journey for love will not be drama-free or eye-roll free with this collection of dudes vying for love (and screen time). Honestly, this has got to be hands down the craziest crop of guys ever assembled on the hit reality TV franchise … for better or worse. Case in point: DeMario Jackson . The shenanigans this guy pulled – which are not over yet, after last night’s cliffhanger – may well go down as the most brazen in history. We’ll get to that shortly … but DMJ will not be who Rachel Lindsay picks this season, we’ll go ahead and spoil that for you right here. Not even Bachelor superfans Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis could save this underwhelming crew from itself, but due credit for trying. The group date task was a “husband material” obstacle course that put the guys to the test … and tested viewers’ patience, as well. One lowlight? Lucas “Whaboomed” in front of Ashton and Mila, which at least made Rachel feel so sorry for him she gave him a kiss. That strategy can’t work over the long haul, can it? In any event, the group date rose went to Dean, who also got a first kiss with Rachel. Peter Kraus then got things very much back on track with a one-on-one date in which he and his gap tooth charmed Rachel to no end. He is one to watch this season. Peter got the rose, and it’s almost a surprise he didn’t earn a whole bouquet based on how wonderful their date was from start to finish. Lindsay’s second group date Monday night was with Will, Jamey, Diggy, Alex, Adam, Lee, Matt, Eric, Josiah, and yes, DeMario Jackson. DeMario was the guy that Rachel’s friends warned her about in The Bachelorette season premiere . Oh, the foreshadowing by producers! The group date featured a cameo from Kareem Abdul Jabbar and some bad basketball, though DeMario showcased some hoop skills. Life skills are a different story, however. After the game, a girl named Lexi approached Rachel while the guys were in the locker room, revealing herself as … DeMario’s girlfriend. To hear Lexi tell it, the two were dating for about seven months until he just disappeared and stopped answering her texts and calls. She had no idea what had happened to him until she saw him meeting Rachel on The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special in March. If you recall, one of Lindsay’s many franchise firsts was that she met some of her men on the finale of Nick’s season. DeMario included. Well, Lexi was PISSED, and Rachel did her best to handle the awkward situation with class as she retrieved DeMario to explain himself. He did not do a very good job. Trapped in lie after lie, he pretended not to know Lexi at first, then called her “psycho,” then dismissed the relationship as merely sexual. Then he pretended that he had mailed Lexi’s keys and broken up with her in person, though her texts proved this was not the situation. In a cringe-worthy moment, he admitted that they had enjoyed “sexual intercourse,” but the situation isn’t as bad as it looks. Or something. He asked if they could talk off-camera because this was “some personal life stuff,” but Rachel wasn’t having that for one second. “I believe you want to be here, I just don’t think you want to be here for me,” she told him after he insisted he wanted to be there. “Let me tell you something: I’m not here to be played. I’m not here to be made a joke of, which is what I feel like you’re doing right now.” “So I’m really going to need you to get the f–k out. I don’t like being f–king embarrassed, and I can’t even look at you right now.” Dammmmmmn! Eventually, he left in shame; Josiah ultimately got the rose and Rachel did some more kisses in as the other guys expressed sympathy. The silver lining, as she noted, was that as bad as DeMario was, the other guys really stepped up afterward to prove their true intentions. In the closing moments, however, DeMario decided that he simply could not depart without having one last conversation with Rachel. Security agreed … to bring in the venerable Chris Harrison to decide if he should in fact be allowed such a privilege after his conduct. As the credits began to roll, the other guys got wind of hisreturn and rushed outside because DeMario “needs to get his ass whooped.” Now that’s a cliffhanger.
