[1] Warner Bros was so happy with the reaction to the 10 minutes of Green Lantern footage from CinemaCon and WonderCon that they have decided to put four minutes online for fans nationwide to see. Kanye West’s ‘All Of The Lights’ Video Premieres

Rihanna and Kid Cudi are featured in Hype Williams-directed clip. By Alvin Blanco Kanye West Photo: Noel Vasquez/ Getty Images Kanye West surprised fans by releasing his video for “All of the Lights” from his platinum-selling album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Instead of extensive pre-promotion and hype, the video was announced only about an hour or so before it was set to debut Saturday (February 19). The clip is directed by Hype Williams and features appearances from Rihanna and Kid Cudi. Williams is a favorite of West’s; the filmmaker has directed a number of the Chicago rapper’s videos, including “Stronger,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “Amazing” and their first collabo “Diamonds From Sierra Leone.” The video begins in black-and-white with the camera following a young girl who is presumably heading out to school. After about a minute, a brightly lit graphic montage of the song’s lyrics and names of the video’s participants begin flashing across the screen. This portion of the video is an homage to the opening credits of Gaspar No

M.I.A.’s ‘XXXO’ Video Hits The Web

Hype Williams-directed clip is much tamer than her controversial ‘Born Free’ video. By Nuzhat Naoreen M.I.A. Photo: Roger Kisby/ Getty Images When it comes to M.I.A., we expect a certain degree of controversy. After all, the singer is no stranger to releasing songs and videos packaged with a message. So when her “XXXO” video hit the Net on Wednesday (August 11), we were understandably surprised. The Hype Williams-directed clip for “XXXO,” which, as the title implies, is about being in love (although not necessarily happily), is a marked departure from her “Born Free” video. While “Born Free” set off a firestorm of criticism for its violence, “XXXO” is much tamer in nature and much more hypnotic in style. M.I.A. is front and center in the video, which has an ’80s feel and relies heavily on graphics of hearts and flowers. In fact, the video appears to put M.I.A. inside a digital greeting card — although her look in the video is much more seductive, as she wears her hair loose and wavy and packs on the thick red lipstick. Of course, the video is not completely without political symbolism. The artist, who previously showed her support for the Tamil Tigers with her song “Paper Planes,” also features two tigers. While the video for “XXXO” only premiered Wednesday, M.I.A.’s fans are likely already familiar with the song. A remix of the song featuring Jay-Z was released back in June, and the artist herself put out the original track (along with the rest of her album ) on her MySpace page in July. Stone Temple Pilots Roar Back With ‘Between the Lines’ Video

Druggy clip has ‘an off point of view,’ Scott Weiland tells MTV News. By James Montgomery, with additional reporting by Kelly Marino On The Set Of ‘Between The Lines’ Video Photo: MTV News As anyone who caught Stone Temple Pilots’ recent run of shows can attest — which kicked off with a thunderous set at South by Southwest in March — after more than five years on the shelf, the alt-rock demigods certainly haven’t lost a step. But if you weren’t lucky enough to catch the first string of shows, don’t fret: Next week, STP will launch the second leg of their U.S. tour, which runs through June 5. (They’ll spend the summer darting across Europe, before returning to the stage in August.) On May 25, the band’s self-titled sixth album is due — their first since 2001’s Shangri-La Dee Da — and it features the snarling first single “Between the Lines.” Chances are, you’ve heard it, since it sits at #1 on Billboard ‘s rock chart. And now, there’s a video to go with it, a burner directed by Christopher Sims, who has helmed clips for the likes of Staind and Jimmy Eat World. And yes, it stands as further proof that STP are back. MTV News was on the set of the video, shot last month in Los Angeles. Much like the song, it’s a sweaty, claustrophobic affair, documenting frontman Scott Weiland’s past history of drug use. Portions of it were shot in gloriously blurry, swirly first-person, much like another debauched, druggy classic. “It’s sort of like an off point of view, similar to [the Prodigy’s] ‘Smack My Bitch Up,’ ” Weiland told MTV News. “[It] was one of the coolest videos that came out in the last 15 years.” But while the video does recall clips from the past, what’s most notable about it is how much it feels like classic STP. Weiland, the DeLeo brothers and drummer Eric Kretz flail and hammer with artful abandon, and the song, with its chain-saw guitars and Weiland’s trademark gruff yowl, sounds like it could’ve been lifted from any of their previous albums. It’s a welcome return, to be certain, one that’s indebted to the past, yet deeply rooted in Weiland’s personal travails — something he’s not shying away from this time out. “The verse is sort of an ‘I Am the Walrus’ kind of thing, where it’s a bunch of stuff that phonetically sounds good,” he said alluding to the Beatles song. “And then you get to the meat of the idea in the chorus … it’s a reference to my ex. It’s a real rock-and-roll song that has our own individuality.” How does the “Between the Lines” video compare to the Prodigy’s ’97 clip? Share your take in the comments! How "Green" Is Gaming?

April 22 is Earth Day, 24 hours devoted to considering the impact we have on the natural world and (hopefully) improving our relationship with the planet. It might seem like gaming is low-impact in terms of the environment — after all, you’re just sitting there staring at a screen as opposed to burning tires or releasing mercury into the water supply — but the video game industry does have an effect on the planet. Gamepro recently looked into it and compiled and interesting and/or enlightening article on the impact video games have on Nature. Among the big three consoles, Nintendo’s Wii uses the least power, but, overall, Nintendo has the lowest rating in eco-friendliness among game system manufacturers, according to a Greenpeace report published in January. This isn’t to say Microsoft and Sony are eco-warriors. In the list of consumer electronic manufacturers, Microsoft was second-to-worst and Sony was in the middle of the pack. While the video game industry
