WTF ?!? Petition Asks To Change National Anthem To R. Kelly’s “Ignition” If all goes according to plan, and the White House justice system is upheld and appropriately remixed. The office of American president Barack Obama will have to respond to one of the greatest appeals of our time: a We the People petition to change the national anthem to R. Kelly’s 2003 hit “Ignition (Remix).” Via Daily Dot reports: The undersigned would like the Obama administration to recognize the need for a new national ahem, one that even a decade after its creation is still hot and fresh out the kitchen. America has changed since Francis Scott Key penned our current anthem in 1814. Since then, we have realized that after the show, it’s the after party, and that after the party, it’s the hotel lobby, and—perhaps most importantly—that ’round about four, you’ve got to clear the lobby, at which point it’s strongly recommend that you take it to the room and freak somebody. ‘Saturday Night Live’ gig ‘really is [a] dream come true,’ singer says. Displaying her flair for comedy and her budding acting chops, the singer shared with MTV News that she intended to celebrate her latest achievement the way hosts before her have: by attending the legendary “SNL” afterparty. “Sunday morning? … I’m still spinning ’cause I drank too much. I’m just kidding,” she joked days prior, at Thursday’s rehearsals for the show. “Sunday morning is gonna hopefully be, ‘Ahh, that was so much fun, and we had a great time, and we all danced together on a dance floor.’ … I know we’ll go till like 8 [a.m.]. I’ll be hopping on that plane [after the party] with a hat, sunglasses, like, ‘Hello! Yes! Wee!’ ” It’s been a great year for Perry: She had a hugely successful tour , tied a chart-topping singles record held by Michael Jackson, took home a number of big prizes, starred in the big-screen version of “The Smurfs” and found out she’s up for two Grammys come February. And, that’s just a few of her accomplishments. The “SNL” gig, she said, was the icing on her 2011 cake. “It’s a cherry on top,” she gushed to MTV News. “Most definitely, you hear with different monologues of different hosts every week, it sounds a bit repetitive and stereotypical about how this is their dream come true to host ‘SNL,’ but it really is each and every one of our dream come true to host ‘SNL,’ to just have fun, goof off, try and make some people laugh. And, we’ll see. Hopefully, I don’t embarrass myself ’cause if I do, I’ll stick to music.” Regardless of her future on the show (or in comedy, for that matter), Perry said the “SNL” women are truly inspiring. “I like females that are OK with making fun of themselves, and they don’t always have to have the best lighting or they can play all kinds of different characters,” she explained, owning up to a slight obsession with “SNL” star Kristen Wiig. “They don’t have to play gorgeous and serious all the time: They can play stupid and funny and self-deprecating. Hugh Hefner’s iconic bachelor pad is under investigation after more than 80 guests at a conference and party there became sick with a suspected strain of Legionnaires’ disease. Scores of attendees at the Domainfest conference in Santa Monica, held Feb. 1 to 3, came down with symptoms including fever, respiratory infections and violent headaches. Four Swedish guests were diagnosed with Legionellosis or pontiac fever — a milder form of Legionnaires’ caused by bacteria that thrives in warm air-conditioning systems. Now some victims are blaming a fog machine which steamed up the conference finale party on Feb. 3. DNJournal.com editor Ron Jackson, whose wife, Diana, was stricken, said, “So far, the number [of victims] is around 80. Everybody says they became ill around 24 hours after the party. Jackson said, “Four guys from Sweden were diagnosed with [Legionellosis], and they have the same symptoms as everyone else. I don’t want to point the finger at the Playboy Mansion, but the disease lives in warm water, and people were engulfed in mist at that party.” He’s filed a report with the CDC. New Yorker Elliot J. Silver, who runs Silver Internet Ventures, also fell prey to the bug. He said, “It is scary everyone came down with the same thing at the same time. It knocked me on my ass. A lot of people are blaming the Playboy Mansion on the blogs, but you can’t be sure.” A rep for Domainfest said it was working with the LA County Health Department to investigate: “There were events every night, and we are giving them a list of all the venues. We have no idea what this is or where it came from. The mansion being to blame is, at the moment, pure speculation.” A Playboy rep claimed, “There is no truth in the rumor that anyone caught anything at the Playboy Mansion. Nor is there any evidence. None of the Playboy staff became ill, the deejay was in the middle of the fog and she didn’t get ill. We have been contacted by the Health Department and the Playboy Mansion is cooperating fully with the investigation.” Hopefully, all of the folks that became sick recover, especially since there is a relatively high rate of death for those that contract the disease.
