Dwight Howard Custody Battle: Royce Reed Wants NBA Star to Pay Legal Bills

Los Angeles Lakers star Dwight Howard and ex Royce Reed are still embroiled in a bitter custody battle about their son – one she feels he should pay for. Royce, who you may remember from VH1’s Basketball Wives, wants Howard to pick up her legal bills as he seeks to gain sole custody of their young son. According to TMZ, Howard earns $1.3 million per month and should pay her bills, otherwise the legal fight isn’t really a fight, as she can’t afford it. Her lawyer says she’s racked up a $44,113.50 bill and can expect her total case to cost $106,621.80 … a drop in the bucket for Dwight. Not for her. Royce Reed was fired by Basketball Wives this year, much to Howard’s delight; he went to great lengths to prevent her from speaking his name on the show. They’ve been battling over custody of their son for at least two and a half years, with no end in sight.

As you know, it’s increasingly difficult to get through a week of culture without hearing or reading about Charlies Sheen’s latest lurid exploits. Historically they involve some ho or porn star and a couple gallons of booze in a hotel room — quarters the Two and a Half Men star invariably trashes (i.e. breaks a chair and musses the bed, or something) — followed by breathless record of their fraught time together. I don’t want to spend too long belaboring a post about not caring, but at some point, we really should take a moment to ask: Who cares? Enough, already!

Serpent Eats Its Own Tail: A Ghostbusters 3 Development Timeline

At this point, you might have an easier time indexing every bit of information in the latest WikiLeaks cables than sifting through the last 10-plus years of rumors surrounding Ghostbusters 3 . And then, today news hits that the movie is indeed still in development, but not confirmed for production because… Bill Murray hasn’t signed on yet. Okay, so Aykroyd’s on the radio reassuring everyone about the sequel and Murray’s keeping his distance. Has anything at all changed since the beginning of this ridiculously over-hyped and probably unnecessary project? Just to double check, I waded through pages of old news and rumors to construct some sort of working timeline about the film’s development. Might want to take a painkiller in advance for this post.

Mamie Gummer on Off the Map, and the Meryl Streep Movies She Hasn’t Seen

Mamie Gummer may have notched her film debut in her mother Meryl Streep’s film Heartburn at age 3, but the actress has gone to great lengths to learn acting the formal way. She graduated from Northwestern University’s theater program in 2005 and soon won roles in Evening , Stop-Loss , The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond , and Taking Woodstock . Now, alongside fellow NW grad Zach Gilford, Gummer stars on ABC’ s new drama Off the Map , a Shonda Rhimes medical serial set in exotic South America. Just ahead of tonight’s premiere, we caught up with Gummer to discuss her theatrical past, her feelings for TV, and the Meryl Streep movies she keeps meaning to see.

Shannen Doherty on Mari-Kari, ‘Annoying’ Optimists and Schoolgirl Violence

If you are a fan of little girls committing big, gory acts of violence , then you should check out Shannen Doherty’s latest project, the animated web series Mari-Kari premiering tomorrow on FEAR net. The anime-inspired project splits Doherty — who just this year, returned to the 90210 zip code and competed as a celebrity contestant on Dancing with the Stars — into identical twins Mari and Kari. The latter is a ghost who goes to great lengths to protect her bubbly, optimistic sister Mari from bullies at school. And as Doherty explained to Movieline last week, tapping into her “saccharine sweet” side is enough to give the actress a major headache.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Michael Jackson went through great lengths to hide his children from the public spotlight, so it’s understandable that his family is furious about them starring in a string of videos posted on YouTube. The bulk of the videos star his 8-year-old son Blanket, who acts out movie scenes, dances, and shares some imaginative tales. Jackson’s 12-year-old daughter, Paris, also appears in a few clips, one of which she simply says: “Monkey, please help.” “We don’t know who [the hacker] was, but we’re trying to find out,” family patriarch Joe Jackson tells AOL’s PopEater, adding the family “doesn’t want the videos on YouTube.”
