You didn’t think it being Martin Luther King, Jr. Day would stop the coonery on Love & Hip Hop: New York did you? Of course, because we can’t get enough of Cardi B while Tara continues to prove she may be a bigger snake than Peter Gunz. Continue
51-Year-Old Television Director Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Charges SMH. This is downright disgusting. A successful television director has plead guilty to promoting a sex performance by a child and possessing an obscene performance by a child according to Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore, NY Daily News reports. 51-year-old Jason Alexander pleaded guilty Tuesday after prosecutors revealed evidence they had procured digital files showing minors engaged in sex acts were found on computers at the director’s Dobbs Ferry, New York, home. Many media outlets initially confused Alexander, who goes by Jace, with the popular “Seinfeld” actor. Fortunately the mistake was quickly corrected. Jace Alexander has directed over a dozen episodes of “Law & Order” and has also worked on “The Blacklist” and “Rescue Me.” He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 3rd and faces up to seven years in prison. So gross. SplashNews
Carlesha Freeland Gaither is home safe tonight. Carlesha Freeland Gaither Found Alive After Violent Abduction Recall the graphic surveillance video that caught a Philadelphia woman being brutally kidnapped from a city street on her way home last week? Thanks to an outpouring of concern and vigilance by the general public, the vehicle she was placed in was spotted states away in Maryland…leading to her safe return home. Via NBCnews : Carlesha Freeland-Gaither, the 22-year-old woman violently abducted from a Philadelphia street on Sunday, has been found alive in Maryland and man police described as a “vicious predator” has been arrested for the kidnapping. “I’m taking my baby home. Thank you,” Keisha Gaither, the woman’s overjoyed mother, told the public at a news conference Wednesday night. Her family erupted into applause as the woman spoke. Freeland-Gaither was rescued from the car of her alleged kidnapper, 37-year-old Delvin Barnes, along the side of a road in Jessup, Maryland, officials said. She has suffered some injuries and is being taken to a nearby hospital in Columbia, Maryland for treatment, police said. She’s expected to recover. “It’s very special for all of us. You hope, you hope, you hope, but you don’t always know that it will end this way,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said. Edward Hanko, special agent-in-charge of the FBI’s Philadelphia division, said agents acted on tips from the public to help track down Barnes’ car. Authorities tracked his car on Wednesday and a FBI Task Force from the agency’s Baltimore office moved in to take him into custody when he exited his car along the 7200 block of Waterloo Road in Jessup, Hanko said. Barnes, who has ties to Philadelphia, apparently attacked Freeland-Gaither at random, detectives said. He is being held on a bench warrant out of Virginia for alleged capital attempted murder in Charles City County. “He’s a thug and this is what he does apparently,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said of the alleged abductor. “He’s a vicious predator. He’s off the streets.” Barnes will be charged federally in the alleged kidnapping and assault, Hanko said. Thankfully she made it home safe and sound! A case like this could easily have gone quite differently. Ladies always be aware of your surroundings — sickos like Barnes are out there everywhere. NBCnews
Not to get down on a bunch of kids, but check out the string parts in this video of a child mariachi ensemble currently making the Web rounds, and tell me this isn’t custom-made for some kind of Shining -esque psychological thriller. Or maybe a Radiohead album. And then there’s a trumpet! All it’s missing is Shia LaBeouf behind the camera . Rock out, freak out and read on for more Buzz Break.
Earlier today, we learned that Bryan Fuller is writing a television project about Hannibal Lecter for French TV studio Gaumont. The one-hour drama called Hannibal will center on the early days of the cannibalistic serial killer — the Thomas Harris character made famous by Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs , Hannibal and Red Dragon — when he faced off against FBI agent Will Graham. While that sounds more interesting than that Sex and the City prequel series that the CW is developing, Movieline HQ has thought of five more entertaining television projects for Lecter that could not only land him a few Emmys, but might help the deranged doctor shed his bad rap and worm his way into the couch potato hearts of Americans.

This week in TV Stereotypes, Movieline features old-fashioned generalization about inner city gang members, perfect boyfriends and grumpy postal workers. Unlike in previous weeks though, one of these stereotypical characters was portrayed by an Oscar winner. Can you guess which one before proceeding?
So, they’ve gone and canceled Law & Order . If it had gone one more season it would have become the longest-running primetime TV drama in history, at twenty-one years. That’s a long time. Let’s think about that for a moment. More
To the delight of shrieking Twi-hards across America, Oprah’s Twilight spectacul-aaaaaaar aired today. Kristen Stewart spent the hour fidgeting in her seat and avoiding eye contact with everyone, even the Jamaican fan whom Oprah had flown in just to meet her. Robert Pattinson responded to every serious questions with quippy answers (“She’s pregnant,” he shouted when Oprah asked if he was dating Stewart). Taylor Lautner talked about his abs and Dakota Fanning seemed wise beyond her years. Basically, it was every Twilight promotional interview you have ever seen plus Oprah. Fortunately, Movieline has compiled the five anecdotes you have not already heard a thousand times after the jump.
It’s a sad day for Sam Waterston fans everywhere, as our sister site Deadline is reporting that after two decades, NBC is pulling the plug on Law & Order .
