Duck Dynasty Dad Phil Robertson Claims “I’m As Much Of A Homophobe As Jesus” And Says “There Is Only One Race” [Video]

Does he make you want to watch the show, or nah ? Duck Dynasty Dad Phil Robertson Releases New Book, Defends Controversial Comments Details from Mediaite via Good Morning America: Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is back in the spotlight and this he’s written a full book of his philosophy on life titled unPHILtered: The Way I See It. The reality TV star, who caused a major firestorm for A&E last year when he denounced homosexuality in the pages of GQ, spoke to Good Morning America’s Ryan Owens about his unique journey over the past year. “I don’t hate anybody,” Robertson insisted in the interview. Asked specifically about the comments he made, in which he compared gay sex to beastiality, among other things, he had this to say: “The only place that I know of that I could have gone to answer that question would be a Bible. The dictionary wouldn’t have explained it. An encyclopedia wouldn’t have explained it, whether it was a sin or not. So I went to the only source I had to answer his question… I’m as much of a homophobe as Jesus was. People who are participating in homosexual behavior, they need to know that I love them.” The GQ interview also included some controversial comments about the American South’s history of racism, which Robertson is also trying to clarify months later. “There is one race, one race on this planet,” he said Tuesday. “It’s called the human race, we’re all the same. To me, there is absolutely nothing that has color to do with it.” Finally, Robertson had a message for all those people out there using social media to criticize his beliefs. “I don’t own a cell phone, I don’t have one,” he said. “I’ve never turned on a computer in my life. So whatever America is saying or not saying about me, true or not true, what they need to understand is, I’m not hearing it.” We live in a politically correct world where often people like Phil are not allowed to voice their opinions. Do you find it refreshing that he speaks so openly, or is it a disappointment that he’s not better equipped to be more compassionate when addressing those who might feel differently than he does? Courtney Robertson’s Sexy Car Wash!

It’s official: I think I may have just found my new favorite wannabe celebrity. Because sure, any hottie can bust out at red carpets, but it takes real talent to stage a bikini car wash for the paps like former Bachelor winner Courtney Robertson here. So if that whole reality “star” thing doesn’t work out for Courtney, I think she’s definitely found herself a promising second career. No, I’m not talking about as a bikini model. I mean working at a car wash. Just look at that perfect form. » view all 13 photos Photos: PacificCoastNews

Because nothing goes together like former reality “stars” and staged bikini “candids,” here’s former Bachelor winner Courtney Robertson showing off her best assets at the beach, and I’m talking about her booty, obviously. According to my sources (aka a couple of girls I overheard at Starbucks), this chick has some new tell-all book coming out, which explains the bikini promotion. Anyway, I’m just glad that whole getting proposed to on TV thing didn’t work out, so now I can propose to her via Twitter instead. Wish me luck. » view all 16 photos Photos: PacificCoastNews

Willie Robertson, Duck Dynasty Star, Defends Phil Robertson GQ Interview

Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments drew the ire of many last year, but son Willie Robertson is quick to defend his father. Willie and his wife, Korie, sat down with CNN last week to talk about the controversial statements Phil Robertson made to GQ about modern immorality. Willie and Korie Robertson CNN Interview The 67-year-old Duck Commander founder had pondered in the magazine’s January issue how “a man’s anus” could be more desirable than a vagina. He also likened gay sex to a sin comparable to bestiality and paraphrased 1 Corinthians, which lists those who will not inherit the kingdom of God. “I believe what the Bible says,” Willie Robertson said. “That’s what he says to put those in. Now, you have to read the Bible and make up your own mind.” “You have to decide and God will ultimately decide that.” “We don’t profess to be God and we certainly don’t profess to be perfect,” he went on, “because we have our own sins we deal with.” Willie was quick to add that his father may be crude, coarse and outspoken, but that doesn’t mean he meant any disrespect or to encourage hate. “Anybody who knows him – any gay, straight, black, white – anybody who knows Phil knows that [his message] is about love,” Willie’s wife Korie added. “God’s love, and God’s grace, and God’s forgiveness, ultimately.” Aside from A&E, Willie and Korie Robertson are currently featured in the Christian indie film “God’s Not Dead.” In a behind-the-scenes interview, he says: “I think we should use any type of media we can to get the message of the Lord out,” adding that their A&E show helps them “get Christ out there.” The fifth season of the show ( watch Duck Dynasty online via TV Fanatic) just wrapped, and ratings have definitely slipped, but the family is not worried. “We are able to use that platform, and if it ended right there, it ended right there,” Willie said . “I felt like that was pretty much what God prepared us to do.” Duck Dynasty Stars Without Beards! Really?? A&E Lifts Duck Dynasty Star Phil Robertson’s Suspension After Racist Anti-Gay Comment

Phil Robertson Suspension Is Over So much for taking a stance. According to TMZ: The “Duck Dynasty” war with A&E is over — the network just announced Phil Robertson is no longer suspended … and filming will resume in a few months. The network says their strong sense of integrity caused them to react quickly to Phil’s GQ interview … and after consulting with numerous advocacy groups they made a decision to bring him back. The network adds, “As a global media content company, A+E Networks’ core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people’s home and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principles.” The network says they plan to roll out a new PSA campaign on their network in the wake of what happened … promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance. A&E adds, “Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family… a family that America has come to love.” So he makes racist and anti-gay comments and gets to keep his job? Clearly he has the complexion for the protection.

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Says He Will “Not Give Or Back Off” After Anti-Gay Comment

This guy just keeps digging a deeper hole for himself. Phil Robertson Not Backing Down From Homosexual Comments That video of Phil going off on the gay community was not a good look and him being unapologetic for his behavior just makes it worse. According to Fox News: Phil Robertson, one of the stars of the A&E reality show “Duck Dynasty” who ignited a national controversy this week with remarks he made about homosexuality to GQ, vowed he would not “give or back off” as he joined his family at church in West Monroe, La. MailOnline reported Sunday that Robertson allowed one of its reporters into a Bible study class he led at the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ. “I love all men and women” Robertson said, according to the website. “I am a lover of humanity, not a hater.” When a member of the class thanked Robertson for saying what he said in the interview, he appeared to shrug it off, saying “I didn’t think much of it at all, but it seems a lot of other people did.” Robertson was suspended indefinitely by A&E after saying that “everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong… Sin becomes fine … Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.” In response to A&E’s sanction, the Robertsons have reportedly considered pulling the plug on the popular program. Politicians, including Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal have leapt to the family’s defense, decrying what they see as an attack on free speech and Christian values. During the class, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, Robertson said of the reaction to his comments, “I am just reading what was written over 2,000 years ago. Those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom. All I did was quote from the scriptures, but they just didn’t know it. Whether I said it, or they read it, what’s the difference? The sins are the same, humans haven’t changed. Phil Robertson concluded his Bible study class with a prayer that went, in part, “I will not give or back off from my path because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions.” Somebody has a image crisis on their hands. Where’s Olivia Pope when you need her?

Phil Robertson: I Have Sinned Sexually Myself, But …

More quotes attributed to embattled Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson have emerged from his church Bible study group on Sunday, and they’re interesting. As we reported earlier, Phil doubled down on the anti-gay comments that got him suspended from the A&E show, insisting his remarks are rooted in the Bible. Not that he thinks he’s perfect, however. Phil says he is not without sexual sin, but has put it in check … and finds the solution to be pretty straightforward. Alan Robertson Sermon: Joking About Phil “Sexual sins are numerous and many. I have a few myself,” he said. “If you’re a man, find yourself a woman, marry them and keep your sex right there.” Phil and Kay Robertson have been married 49 years. Their eldest of four sons, Alan, is a pastor who joked about the scandal in church Sunday (above). This is no laughing matter to Phil, though, nor is it likely to lead to an apology. “I will not give or back off from my path, because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions,” Robertson said. “The acts of the sinful nature are obvious. Sexual immorality is No. 1 on the list.” “Jesus will take sins away, if you’re a homosexual,” he went on, adding: “Jesus Christ was the most perfect being to ever walk this planet and he was persecuted and nailed to the cross, so don’t be surprised when we get a little static.” “How many ways can we sin sexually? My goodness. You open up that can of worms, and people will be mad at you over it. I am just reading what was written over 2,000 years ago.” Phil Robertson Breaks Silence on Anti-Gay Controversy “Those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom. All I did was quote from the scriptures. But they just didn’t know it. Whether I said it, or they read it, what’s the difference?” “The sins are the same. Humans haven’t changed.” Phil gave the Daily Mail (UK) access to the study group, so these quotes are real – and just as unfiltered and unabashed as his infamous remarks to GQ . “Common sense says we are not going to procreate the human race unless we have a man and a woman,” he continued in his remarks about sexual sin. “If you’re a homosexual, He’ll take it away.  If you’re an adulterer, if you’re a liar, what’s the difference? If you break one sin you may as well break them all.” “If we lose our morality, we will lose our country. It will happen.” As for A&E suspending Robertson , he responded, indirectly, “This week I have been asked, ‘Is this the first time you have brought up sin?’ Are you kidding?” “I have been traveling to and fro spreading this message.” Phil Robertson Sermon A 2010 video (above) of Phil preaching certainly makes that point clear, and raises the valid point that A&E had to know what it was getting with him. Phil also railed against his critics, saying, “We may be a bunch of rednecks from Louisiana, but I am not uneducated. I have a degree from Louisiana Tech.” Bottom line: A&E suspended Phil Robertson, patriarch of the wildly successful Duck Dynasty , indefinitely, because his remarks were offensive to gays. Will the show go on? Likely not without Phil, at least on A&E. The family has implied as much, in voicing opposition to his “hiatus,” though it’s unclear what the nature of his suspension is from A&E’s standpoint. Robertson is still on the network day in and day out on repeats, and there are no plans to remove him from new episodes that have yet to air in 2014. It remains to be seen if A&E has any plans to cut ties with the Robertsons or vice versa, but these quotes won’t necessarily help them smooth it over. Should Phil apologize for his anti-gay comments?   Yes. I respect his free speech and religious views, but he offended people. No. It’s his opinion! Don’t bow to the pressure, Phil! View Poll »

Charlie Sheen RIPS Phil Robertson: Apologize to Gay Community OR ELSE!

Charlie Sheen is TAKING IT to Phil Robertson, saying he had better apologize for his crude anti-gay comments or face a media storm like he wouldn’t believe. As reported earlier, A&E made the controversial decision to suspend Robertson from Duck Dynasty largely because of the gay employees at the network. Clearly, Sheen agrees with that move, but he’s not satisfied. Days after Phil likened called gays immoral sinners (among many other things, in much coarser wording) in GQ, the actor tore into him in a Twitter tirade : “Hey Mallard brained Phil Robertson! you have offended and hurt so many dear friends of mine, who DO NOT have the voice or the outreach that I do.” “Well news flash shower-dodger, I will speak loudly and clearly for ALL of them.” “So, just when your desperately sub evolved ass thought the pressure was off, you are in the crosshairs of a MaSheen style media beat down.” (I’ll try to keep the big words to a minimum as not to confuse you).” “Your statements were and are abhorrently and mendaciously unforgivable.” “The idea that you have a job outside of dirt-clod stacking is a miracle. the only ‘Dynasty’ you are attached to might be the re-runs of that dated show.” “The only thing you should ever be in charge of building is a hole in the ground the exact size of your head.” “Perhaps your beard would fit as well if you plucked out the army of scabies and bull weevils sequestered deep in it’s sarcophagus of dander and weasel pelts.” “Shame on you. You’re the only surviving brain donor I’ve ever known.” Sheen, 47, concluded by demanding that Robertson, 67, make “serious amends” to those he “radically offended,” and that he is “repulsed” by him. Duck Dynasty Cast Issues Statement, Stands By Phil Robertson Phil Robertson Suspension, Anti-Gay Backlash A&E suspended Phil Robertson over the comments made in the January issue of GQ, in which he shared his thoughts on homosexuality and morality. “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong,” he said. “Sin becomes fine. Robertson has been suspended, not fired, and the show has not been canceled. Several marathons are taking place this holiday season, in fact.
