Shay Mitchell in Elle Canada of the Day

Shay Mitchell is some twat on some TV show that I’ve never seen called Pretty Little Liars, that I am sure fucking sucks, but since it is on TV, has a huge fan base of idiots, or tweens who just like what is fed to them, even though it actually sucks. She’s Canadian / Filipino, but unlike most Canadian/ Filipino’s I know, she don’t clean the house for 300 dollars a week for rich people. She doesn’t have kids boss her around and call her a bitch and say things like “You’re not my mother, you work for me, now clean this mess up, bitch”…because this Shay Mitchell is the brat in the situation, thanks to landing TV stardom…. All this to say, I’d do her.

Taylor Swift’s Long Legs with Mick Jagger of the Day

I don’t know what is going on here, not that Taylor Swift is doing a duet with the Rolling Stone, but that Taylor Swift is turning me on. Maybe it is Mick Jagger’s flamboyancy, or maybe his hard wrinkled face just reminds me of a pussy eager to get fucked…or maybe, just maybe, Taylor Swift’s well traveled twat is well traveled for good reason…and that reason isn’t her money, or her silly tween anthems, but her legs….for days. Here’s the video…The Rolling Stones are good…even with Taylor Swift in a tight outfit sabotaging their classic songs…who while in a tight outfit is allowed to sabotage whatever she likes, unfortunately, not sabotaging my penis. Taylor Swift Performs with Rolling Stones in Chicago

The Rolling Stones introduced fans to another country music superstar last night. A week after playing alongside Carrie Underwood , the iconic group invited Taylor Swift on stage to join them for a rendition of “As Tears Go By” in Chicago. The ballad was one of the first ever written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, though it was only performed live for the first time in 2005. Watch Taylor take part in it now: Taylor Swift and The Rolling Stones – “As Tears Go By” “Filing this under ‘never in my wildest dreams’.Thank you @RollingStones for inviting me to Chicago to sing with you,” Tweeted Swift after the concert.

SUNDANCE REVIEW: Back-up Singers Take Center Stage In Rousing, Intimate ‘Twenty Feet From Stardom’

Pulling raw talent from the footnotes of rock ‘n’ roll history and splashing their names up on the marquee where they belong, Twenty Feet From Stardom wages a compelling crusade to get background singers some long-overdue recognition. Featuring such stalwarts as Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, Lisa Fischer and Tata Vega — many of whose voices are well known even if their names are not — this rousing group portrait should have commercial legs as long as its subjects’, leaving satisfied audiences everywhere listening with new ears. Director Morgan Neville’s loving spotlight, produced by late A&M Records exec Gil Friesen, ensures their contributions will go unsung no more. Not everyone is cut out for stardom, observes Bruce Springsteen at the outset, and the film ultimately hammers its “coulda been a contender” point a little too hard when circling back to that idea in the final stretch. But for most of its running time, this personality-packed docu is nothing short of absorbing as it recaps the essential role African-American background singers played in shaping the sound of 20th-century pop music. Hailing from the gospel tradition (all the big names grew up singing in church, and many had preachers for parents), these vocal powerhouses were the soul of a new sound being practiced by everyone from Ray Charles to Elvis Presley , replacing the earlier model, in which clean-cut crooners performed alongside two or three white ladies. Now in her 70s and reunited here with the Blossoms, Love paved the way for black women to support some of the most successful names in rock history, occasionally even “ghosting” for other acts who took the credit. That’s Love singing lead on the Crystals’ hit “He’s a Rebel,” for example, though producer Phil Spector personally stood in the way of her solo career. Most of the time, the music-buying public had no idea whom they were listening to, but the industry folks certainly did, creating opportunities for the likes of Clayton, who recalls screaming “Rape! Murder!” for the Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” in the middle of the night with curlers in her hair, and the Waters Family, featured on “Thriller” and “The Circle of Life” (who, amazingly, also recorded dino-bird sounds on Avatar ). In virtually every minute of its first hour, the film reveals fresh details many might not already know about songs they’ve heard countless times, reinforcing its points with sound bites from Mick Jagger , Stevie Wonder and Sting. These stars aren’t merely endorsing the vocalists they swear by, either; speaking candidly, they offer meaningful observations about the vagaries of the biz. Neville’s approach establishes a real intimacy with the half dozen singers he follows most closely, varying the camerawork and editing just enough among them to capture the distinct personality of each. The featured ladies represent several generations of success and struggle, and the pic brings the myriad talking points to life with rare TV appearances, half-forgotten milestones and other archival treasures, while nifty graphics help direct viewer attention, putting the sidelines in our sight lines. And then comes the heartbreak. Though a few have broken out of the background to become headliners — like male example Luther Vandross, who started out singing support for David Bowie — most rely on the generosity of other artists for what limited exposure they get. At one point, Love was reduced to cleaning houses, and former “Ikette” Claudia Lennear (who posed for Playboy at the height of her celebrity) now works as a Spanish teacher. Some, like Grammy winner Fischer, seem more comfortable enriching others’ performances, while up-and-comer Judith Hill (who sang at Michael Jackson’s funeral) risks undermining her personal momentum every time she accepts a supporting gig. As the film’s title wistfully suggests, many background singers have musical talent far exceeding those for whom they have performed — a subject rich enough to have fueled the tuner Dreamgirls . And yet, for various reasons ranging from market forces to the fact they didn’t write their own songs, they never managed to launch successful solo careers. Just as entire documentaries could be made about one-hit wonders, the discussion of near-miss stardom is almost a distraction from the enormous contribution these vocalists have made to contemporary music, while reducing the measures of success to fame and fortune. And yet, this perceived injustice gives the pic a catchy hook, no doubt creating fresh career opportunities for its subjects, if not necessarily the stardom that has so long eluded them. Well Isn’t That Special: The Rolling Stones Pay Their Dues To Black Blues Greats By Funding Funerals For Late Legends

Good Samaritans or white guilt at work ? It’s no secret that many great white rock and pop acts owe their sound and swag to black music, but it may come as a surprise that some artists have stepped up to the plate to give back to those less fortunate after their passing. According to National Enquirer reports : ROCK ’N’ ROLL SECRET: Too many white-boy rock groups (especially you, Led Zeppelin!) NEVER acknowledged their debt to those old-timey black blues musicians whose art they ripped off – but the Rolling Stones just can’t stop payin’ it back! Said a longtime business associate/close friend of the aging rockers: “It’s a little-known fact, but MICK JAGGER and the guys pay for the funerals of ALL the old bluesmen and blueswomen – most recently picking up burial expenses for the late, great ETTA JAMES and blues guitarist HUBERT SUMLIN. And nobody knows this because Mick and The Stones work hard to keep it quiet!” Kudos to the Stones. Can you think of some other white groups that owe a debt to black music? WENN

WATCH: Noomi Rapace Doesn’t Move Anything Like Jagger In New Rolling Stones Video

Ahem. So, if you could just take your eyes off Noomi Rapace’s  naked breasts for a damn second, I’d like to ask you a question. Is it me  or is the Prometheus   star a terrible dancer?   Compelling actor, yes — with a face that demands my attention every time she’s on screen. But check out that weird kind of heaving motion she makes when she’s imitating Mick Jagger in Jonas Akerlund’s music video for “Doom and Gloom.”  What the hell is that? I mean, every two-bit stand-up comic beginning with Richard Belzer (remember when he was funny?)  can imitate Jagger’s rooster strut, but Rapace seems to be having a hard time even getting in sync with the music. (In a way, I  don’t blame her. This song may be on the band’s latest greatest hits collection, but it ain’t great, even if it becomes a hit.) And then there’s that Flashdance -like scene where you can’t really tell if it’s her or a stand-in.  (Have You Seen Your Stand-In Baby, Standing in the Shadow?)   Maybe that’s some kind of ironic take on the fact that Jennifer Beals had a stand-in for her dance scenes in the original. The quick-cutting is another clue.  You would think that shots of Rapace dancing in a Stones video would be a selling point. Okay, maybe not as big a draw as her bare breasts, but sensual enough that the camera would be lingering a little longer as she lets her freak flag fly. Unless it was a little too freaky. What do you think?  Let me know in the comments section. Follow Frank DiGiacomo on Twitter. Follow Movieline on Twitter.

Kurt Cobain Documentary In The Works Blessed By Courtney Love

Now it’s Courtney Love ‘s turn to tell her story about her husband Kurt Cobain and she’s turning to a medium she knows well, even if it has at times not been to her liking. The Hole musician has approached filmmaker Brett Morgan to do a Cobain documentary, a project that has been under discussion since 2007. “Courtney is the one that brought me into this,” said Morgan, whose Rolling Stones doc Crossfire Hurricane premiered at the BFI London Film Festival last month. “We’ve been trying to find the right time to put tho film together and the time is now.” Morgan, who spoke to the New York Post said they’re eyeing a 2014 release. Rumors swirled that a Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue recently when once close Britney Spears protégé Sam Lufti testified under oath that he and Love were working on a possible stage or motion picture project based on the grunge artist who died of a self-inflicted gunshot in 1994. “There will be no musical,” Love later told The Observer. “Sometimes it’s best just to leave things alone.” Nevertheless, a doc is underway at least for now, and it will take the form of a “third-person autobiography,” Morgan said. “[As] if Kurt was around and making a film about his life…Kurt was not only an amazing songwriter and musician, he was an incredible artist and film-maker.” Kurt Cobain left behind a wealth of recordings even beyond his music, some of which played out in a 2006 documentary, Kurt Cobain About a Son by AJ Schnack, which Love did not sanction. Cobain and Love were both the subjects in the 1998 doc Kurt & Courtney by Nick Broomfield, which Love allegedly tried to axe from the Sundance Film Festival ahead of its premiere. Never-before seen footage of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love in their private life turned up in the 2011 doc Hit So Hard by P. David Ebersole, which followed the story of Hole drummer Patty Schemel, which Love cooperated with. On the non-doc side, Gus van Sant fictionalized a parallel Kurt Cobain story in his 2005 feature Last Days , which starred Michael Pitt as the would-be Nirvana frontman. [ Source: The Guardian ]

You Tell Us: Is Channing Tatum Really Sexier Than Robert Pattinson?

So the good news is pouring in for Channing Tatum  today.  In addition to nabbing People’s Sexiest Man Alive  honor, GQ  magazine chose the Magic Mike   star as its Movie Star of the Year, part of its annual Men of the Year issue. That means Tatum and his strong chin will be gracing at least two magazine covers in the coming weeks, and that’s got me wondering: where is the Twi-hard outrage over Robert Pattinson being snubbed?  With the sun finally setting on The Twilight Saga , it’s remarkable that RPatz — who had the crowds thrilling and screaming at the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere earlier this week— did not nab Sexiest Man honors once since 2008 when the film franchise debuted. Hugh Jackman graced People’ s cover in 2008; Johnny Depp in 2009; Ryan Reynolds in 2010; and Bradley Cooper  in 2011. Related Story: Check out Movieline’s photo gallery of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart  & Co. at the Breaking Dawn 2 premiere. Pattinson, who seems more concerned with being an actor than a screen idol, probably isn’t terribly interested in such an accolade, and he’s in good company. Last year, People ‘s decision to choose Cooper over Ryan Gosling sparked quite a furor among Baby Goose’s fans,  along with the rumor that the magazine had actually wanted to put Gosling on the cover but went with Cooper when the Drive actor, who’s all about the work, declined to give them an interview or participate in a photo shoot. ( People and Gosling’s publicist denied this at the time.) Still, I’m betting Pattinson’s fans are feeling miffed right now, and I’d like to gauge the depth of that dissatisfaction by inviting them — and any other lover of big-screen beefcake — to vote for the actor they would crown the sexiest man alive if they were calling the shots at People . I’ve listed five choices, including Tatum, Pattinson and Gosling. The rest is up to you. If you feel there’s a better candidate out there than the available choices, write him in the comments box and I’ll add him to the poll. As for what People ‘s honor will mean for Tatum besides a butt load of publicity, I don’t see any real correlation between People’s coronation and an actor’s career. The year that has passed since Cooper got the People cover has been a good one for the actor, given the success of Limitless and his fine performances in  The Place Beyond The Pines , which will be released next year (and also stars Gosling), and Silver Linings Playbook ,  which opens Friday, and is generating Oscar buzz for the actor. But if you go back to 2010 Sexiest Man Alive Ryan Reynolds , the year that followed his anointing saw him star in the critically savaged Green Lantern,  which, according to Box Office Mojo has only made about $20 million more (worldwide)  than its $200-million production budget. Let’s see which way the wind blows for Tatum. Take Our Poll [Box Office Mojo] Follow Frank DiGiacomo on Twitter. Follow Movieline on Twitter.
