DWTS’ Erin Andrews on Nerves, Needing a Change and Those Pesky Romantic Rumors

Erin Andrews has endured a rough year, one that keeps revealing difficult passages. The 31-year-old ESPN sportscaster’s high-profile court case, where divorced father Michael David Barrett was eventually charged with filming Andrews through a peephole in her hotel rooms in several different states, ended in March as Barrett was sentenced to 30 months in prison. This month (and after our interview) it was revealed that Andrews had received death threats for over six months. Now, as Andrews waltzes and quicksteps on the 10th season of Dancing with the Stars , she talks with Movieline about moving on from the hellish court proceedings, finding new confidence, those romantic rumors with her dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and the other ESPN personality she’d like to see on DWTS .

5 Questions Raised by Glee’s Performance at the White House Easter Egg Roll

Every year, you apply for the White House Easter Egg Roll lottery, hoping that you and your child can spend the holiday rubbing elbows with the First Couple as that-year’s-tween-act bops around on a South Lawn stage. How could that not be the most amazing celebration of Jesus’ resurrection ever? That question was rhetorical up until this weekend’s Egg Roll, when the cast of Glee clambered onstage in matching blood-red outfits and stumbled through one of the most disappointing Egg Roll performances of all time (even counting Fergie’s). After the jump, Movieline works through some of the questions raised in this weekend’s mini-concert.

Celebrity Apprentice: 5 Creepy Stills from the ‘Harry Potter’s Surreal Life Mansion’ Challenge

Celebrity Apprentice ‘s stars were asked to horrify children last night, and everyone pulled through with flying colors. As part of their challenge to make a 3D display advertising Universal Orlando’s “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” attraction, the celebs built and acted as characters inside muggle-friendly haunted castles. Some of the contestants (Michael Johnson, our girl Summer Sanders ) kept the freakishness to a minimum, while others (just wait) gave unsuspecting children the kind of chills best defined as “Voldemort kisses.”

Magnolia Acquires, Explains All-Star Freakonomics Doc

With Tribeca’s closing-night slot already locked up , the documentary adaptation of the best-selling book Freakonomics has officially found a U.S. distributor in Magnolia Pictures. It’s not especially surprising considering the relationship Magnolia has with half the filmmakers involved, having helped boost the likes of Alex Gibney ( Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room ) and Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady ( Jesus Camp ) to Oscar nominations over the last few years. Meanwhile non-fiction stars Morgan Spurlock ( Super Size Me ), Eugene Jarecki ( Why We Fight ) and Seth Gordon ( The King of Kong , not to mention his Hollywood narrative debut Four Christmases ) are also involved; click through for a breakthrough of which directors are doing what.

Tale of the Tape: Joss Whedon and Louis Leterrier Battle for The Avengers

And you thought you could go even one day without reading something about Marvel. What started out as a possible April Fool’s Day joke is now confirmed as truth. According to the LA Times blog, Hero Complex , Marvel Studios has placed cult director Joss Whedon on the short-list to direct their super-sized super hero menagerie, The Avengers . Scheduled for 2012, the film will bring together all the Marvel heroes (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk) under one green-screen enhanced sky and presumably make tons of money so long as Marvel fatigue hasn’t set in by then. If seeing “short-list” and ” The Avengers ” in the same sentence seems a bit familiar, that’s probably because just last week , Clash of the Titans director Louis Leterrier said his name was on there as well. This has all the makings of a knock-down, drag-out war! After the jump, find out which director has the inside edge.

Friday Box Office: Titans Will Cash

If it’s a weekend in 2010, you can be sure that there’s a 3D film sucking up dollars. The overly hyped Clash of the Titans turned the trick yesterday with an estimated $30 million (including $4.2 million from Thursday screenings), meaning it will shatter the Easter weekend record of $40.2 million held by—wait for it—the immortal Scary Movie 4 . As for the other openers: Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too landed in second with $13 million (if only it were in 3D), while The Last Song finished fourth, with just $7 million. Don’t fret too much, though, Miley Cyrus fans: Song has already taken in around $17 million since opening on Wednesday and should finish the weekend with $25 million. And with that, the butterflies fly away . The top-five after the jump.

5 Possible Next Projects For Charlie Sheen If He Ditches Men

The news shook Hollywood to its very core: Charlie Sheen, the most handsomely remunerated mumbler in television history, has been telling “friends” (you know, the kind who respond to this kind of intimate soul-baring with an immediate call to People ) that this season of Two and a Half Men might be his last, rumblings that certainly are not just a carefully choreographed tactic for any upcoming contract renewal negotiations . But if he is is, in fact, ready to step away from Men if they’re not willing to make him a million-and-a-half-per-episode player, what’s next for the Ma-sheen? Movieline is more than happy to throw out some suggestions for Sheen’s potential new projects.
