Dr. Conrad Murray Death Threats: Off the Hook Since Release!

Dr. Conrad Murray has been receiving more death threats than he can count since his release from jail, and the FBI is investigating at least some of them. A group of Michael Jackson fanatics is believed to be responsible. The threats have been targeted at both Dr. Conrad Murray and Murray’s lawyer, Valerie Wass, who called out fans who threatened Murray before: “One blow to the head is all you need.” If you think MJ fans are insignificant … you are dead wrong, DEAD wrong.” (A direct response to her quote about the late singer’s fans) “Better get that hair brushed and be ready because [Michael Jackson] fans will be everywhere setting yours and Murray’s lies straight.” Fans are going after Wass because Murray is in hiding, but also because she confronted a screaming fan who claimed that Murray was a murderer. Wass fired back, after Murray’s release from prison , “If you were not so ignorant, you would know he was not convicted of murder!”  And she continued to rant. Wass also remarked after her infamous client’s release that the crazed Jackson fans are “annoying, but insignificant.” That comment did not go over well. The FBI is currently on the case.

Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Trial Verdict: AEG Live Wins, Family Loses

Michael Jackson’s family has lost its bid to hold AEG Live accountable for the singer’s death 2009. A jury sided with the concert promoter on Wednesday. Why? The jury ruled AEG Live did hire Dr. Conrad Murray, which was key for the family, but the jury then ruled Conrad Murray was NOT unfit or incompetent. Game over. Michael Jackson Family Loses Wrongful Death Lawsuit The issue that ultimately torpedoed Katherine Jackson’s case was whether Murray was competent to treat MJ when he was hired. The jury said he was. It’s an interesting finding, as Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in criminal court for going rogue and doing things that killed Jackson. Because he was competent at the onset, however, and because AEG’s responsibility for his actions as well as Jackson’s is limited, the family lost. The billion-dollar wrongful death lawsuit alleged that the company negligently hired Dr. Murray and pushed the King of Pop too hard prior to his “This Is It” tour. AEG claimed Jackson hand-picked Murray and what went on between the music legend and his personal physician was between the two of them and that’s it. The jury foreman explained that Murray was competent to do the job for which he was hired – be a general practitioner to Jackson prior to the tour. Jurors felt that Murray had gone to a good school and was qualified, and that there was no reason AEG wouldn’t have signed off on it at the time. The juror added after the verdict, “That doesn’t mean we felt he was ethical. Had that question been in there, it could have been a different outcome.” Essentially, that trial took place two years ago, and Murray was convicted. As far as holding AEG liable for the same thing, the jury wouldn’t go there. Case closed. What do you think: Was justice served?   Yes. What happened is all on MJ and/or Dr. Murray. No. AEG knew about Murray and pushed MJ too hard! View Poll »

Dr. Conrad Murray Today Interview: Don’t Blame Me!

Dr. Conrad Murray is – again – proclaiming innocence when it comes to the death of Michael Jackson, telling Today in a phone interview that he’s not to blame. Murray also says he hopes to practice medicine again some day. Even if he can legally pull that off, we can’t exactly envision the patients lining up … Conrad Murray on Today Speaking with the NBC morning show, Murray did say that he’s sorry Michael Jackson died, but he still says he is in no way responsible for his death. Murray is sticking to his story, which did not play well with a jury in his manslaughter trial, that Michael Jackson killed himself with a fatal dose of Propofol. Conrad is also potentially a key figure in the MJ wrongful death suit , though he has insisted he wants no part of that when it comes to either side. The doc, who’s serving a four-year prison term, says he did not appeal it to shorten his sentence – though he would no doubt take it – but for another reason: So he can restore his medical license and see patients again. Again … we’re all for second chances and all, but … no.

Dr. Conrad Murray Denied Bail, No One Shocked

Dr. Conrad Murray was just shot down in his request to be freed on bail while he appeals his involuntary manslaughter conviction in the 2009 death of Michael Jackson. Number of disappointed people not named Murray or Nicole Alvarez : Zero. During today’s hearing, Judge Michael Pastor said Murray is still a flight risk as he does not have significant property or family ties in Los Angeles. Judge Pastor also believes Murray is a danger to society, citing the MSNBC documentary in which Murray fails to show any remorse for MJ’s death. Pastor said “it scares me” that Murray believes it’s okay to use Propofol in a home setting and insists he could pose a danger to the safety of other people. Murray had previously asked for bail so he could spend time with his family (girlfriend Alvarez and their son) while he awaits the outcome of his appeal. He is hoping to overturn his manslaughter conviction on grounds he never had a chance to prove MJ killed himself due to stress … among other reasons. Murray’s appellate attorney Valerie Wass says she believes Murray is a “scapegoat” blamed for Michael’s death because there’s no one else to target. A judge, jury and the general public almost unanimously disagree. Jackson was not without fault, but Murray also wasn’t convicted of murdering him. His actions as a doctor fit the crime of involuntary manslaughter to a T.

Family of Michael Jackson No Longer Seeking Money From Dr. Conrad Murray

Michael Jackson’s family has apparently realized the obvious: As much as they want Dr. Conrad Murray to pay dearly for his role in the King of Pop’s death, the physician is flat broke and the music icon is worth nine figures. You can’t get blood from a stone, and thus, prosecutors will no longer seek more than $100 million in restitution from Murray at the request of Jackson’s family. A rep for the L.A. County D.A.’s Office says prosecutors withdrew the motion and a hearing scheduled for Monday has been called off at the family’s request. Murray was convicted and sentenced for involuntary manslaughter last year. Murray, who’s already serving his four-year jail sentence for his role in the death of MJ, is basically broke, with a revoked medical license halting future income. It’s unclear how he plans to earn money once he’s released, but he fought having to pay restitution and it appears MJ’s family concluded it wasn’t worth it. The time and legal fees necessary to battle for scraps that wouldn’t change the family standard of living, or more importantly bring MJ back, was fruitless.

Dr. Conrad Murray Documentary Airs in UK; Pretty Much Everyone Bashes Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is not exactly portrayed glowingly in the new documentary centered on Dr. Conrad Murray. No wonder there is outrage among his family and fans. The controversial film debuted in the UK last night, just three days after Murray was found guilty of manslaughter in the death of Jackson. One major revelation: Emphatically, the doctor states that AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips told him before the This Is It tour Michael Jackson “does not have a f**king cent” to his name. Murray claims Phillips pulled him aside after a meeting about the London concerts and angrily said : “What’s this bullshit all about? Listen this guy is next to skid row.” “He’s going to be homeless. Nine security guards? Why does he need that? I’m paying for that s**t. I’m paying for the toilet paper he wipes his f**king ass with.” Or so Murray says in the documentary. Phillips took the stand during the manslaughter trial and, under oath, denied that conversation with Murray ever happened. “Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship” also reveals the strategy meetings between Dr. Murray and his two attorneys, Ed Chernoff and J. Michael Flanagan. During one session, Flanagan’s wife, Susan, offers this insight: “Explain to me a 50-year-old man who sleeps with a baby doll and has pictures of basically infants to 2-year-old children looking at him every night.” Chernoff says, “I think that the media made him appear weirder than he is.” Flanagan: “You gotta be kidding me, he can’t be any weirder than he is.” In the documetary, Murray claims Michael Jackson “always had a chamber that was exclusively his. The bedroom that he slept in … I had to persuade him, eventually to have it cleaned. Because … one, he peed the bed.” “It did not smell good. It was mildew, and I had to get it clean.” “Who would ever believe that a man his age would still be wetting his bed?” Murray added, noting that it wasn’t due to medication, but purely psychological. The documentary airs in the states, Friday night on MSNBC. Despite the objections of La Toya Jackson and MJ’s estate, the network will air it as planned.
