Elizabeth Hasselbeck speaks out against Sarah Palin’s use of crosshairs to target Democrats. Update!

I was at the gym today, on my favorite Cybex elliptical machine, working off some girl scout cookies, when I

Sarah Palin to write a new book.

Publisher HarperCollins announced Wednesday that the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate is working on a “celebration of American virtues and strengths.” The book is currently untitled and no release date has been set. Palin’s memoir, “Going Rogue,” released last fall by HarperCollins, has sold more than 2 million copies. Her new work will “include selections from classic and contemporary readings that have inspired her, as well as portraits of some of the extraordinary men and women she admires and who embody her love of country, faith, and family,” the publisher’s statement reads. “She will also draw from her personal experience to amplify these timely — and timeless— themes.” In an e-mail Wednesday, HarperCollins publisher Jonathan Burnham said that “a number of ideas and concepts” were explored with Palin. “This is the idea which appealed the most to her,” he said, adding that she is currently “gathering ideas and identifying favorite texts and examples.” How could anybody publish a book about “virtues and strengths” with Sarah freaking Palin’s name on it? Is it supposed to be ironic? So this will be a who’s who of famous people that Palin will have to google to even identify? Perhaps she can finally name ALL of those founding fathers she is so impressed with. You know like George Washington, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Abraham Lincoln, Samuel L. Clemens, Ronald Reagan, Ronald McDonald, and Christopher Columbus. Doesn’t Harper Collins have any shame?

Happy Birthday, Sarah Palin!

As celebrity birthdays go, this one is particularly special to us. You betcha, Sarah Palin turns 46 today! Hopefully she remembered to write a note on her hand ! Since bursting onto the scene in 2008, Sarah has been a lightning rod, becoming one of the most popular and unpopular figures in politics simultaneously. That’s a tough feat, and despite her resignation as Governor of Alaska last year, we don’t imagine we’ve seen the last from her on a major political stage. Some people want her to run for President. Others want her to run away somewhere – anywhere – and never come back. Either way, she gets people talking! Here’s a little birthday tribute of Sarah Palin pictures . Click to enlarge! Should Sarah Palin run for President?

Sarah Palin’s a Birther Now, Too

On talk radio today, Palin endorsed the hysterics over Obama’s birth certificate as “fair game.” Her rationale? “That weird conspiracy freak thing that Trig isn’t my real son.” Of all logically faulty arguments, this is the one she chooses? Conservative radio host Rusty Humphries asked Palin whether she’d “make the birth certificate an issue” if she runs for president in 2012

In a Terrifying Alternate Universe, Vice President Sarah Palin Claims Victory

On election night, Sarah Palin threatened to “go rogue” by delivering a speech someone else wrote for her, but John McCain refused so she didn’t. Now you can read the addresses — both concession and victory — she would’ve given. The Daily Beast has an excerpt from Sarah from Alaska , a new Palin bio , with the speeches writer Matt Scully wrote for her on election night: A concession speech in which she lauded “black citizen” Barack Obama for winning, and a victory speech in which she announces that her husband will thenceforth be known as “the First Dude.” Reading the victory speech is chilling in a Man in the High Castle sort of way—what if McCain/Palin really did win the election, and we’re all just characters in a blog or something?
