Chris Martin and Alexa Chung: Spending Nights Together Since His Split

Not long after his split from Gwyneth Paltrow was announced, rumors of an affair between Chris Martin and Alexa Chung began to circulate.   As more intel emerged the situation began to take shape. Several tabloids reported that Chris and Gwyneth enjoyed an “open relationship” which allowed for meaningless sex with strangers, but Chris broke the rules by falling in love with Chung. Now it seems the appeal of a woman who’s not Gwyneth is so strong that Chris can’t resist Alexa even during his ” conscious uncoupling ” period with Gwynnie.  Like Chris, Alexa hails from England originally and she still lives there most of the year. Or at least she did. Star magazine reports that since Martin has begun (slowly) breaking things off with Paltrow, Chung has been spending more time in LA. Chris has apparently fallen so hard for Alexa he refuses even to stick around for Gwyneth’s meditation/primal scream therapy sessions or whatever she’s got him doing.  A source tells the tabloid that Chris “has been sneaking out at night to see [Alexa] and confide in her.” A ballsy move considering Chris still lives with Gwyneth at the moment. Never a magazine to shy away from wild speculation, Star also reports that in the past, Chris has carried on affairs with Helena Christensen, Kate Bosworth and Natalie Imbruglia, but never fell for any of them the way he has with Alexa.  Sounds like Chris stayed busy! No wonder he was able to stomach being married to Gwyneth for so long! 10 Most Shocking Hollywood Divorces Open Slideshow 1. Tipper Gore Defends Al, Decries Allegations

Tough month for Al Gore. First, he announced a split from wife Tipper after 40 years, then was accused of sexual assault, then Prince declared the Internet “over.” Fortunately, the former V.P.’s wife still has his back regarding the sex scandal. Tipper says the couple’s separations nothing to do with the sexual assault allegations made against him by Molly Hagerty , nor does she buy the masseuse’s story. Tabloids have suggested that Hagerty’s claim that Al Gore forced himself on her during a massage in a Portland hotel was the last straw in their unraveling union. Not so, Tipper Gore and family friends say. “And they also say Al had an affair with a Tennessee Titans cheerleader one week, a Hollywood producer the next,” says a friend close to both Al and Tipper Gore. Adds the friend, “None of these is true. Both Al and Tipper are baffled by the sexual assault allegations , frustrated to see his name dragged through the mud.” Al and Tipper Gore have split, but not because of any massage gone awry . Another friend of Tipper’s says that “Tipper has known about these allegations since Al found out about them himself. She has known that massage has been very much a part of his health regimen for many, many, many years.” Furthermore, ” she doesn’t believe any of the allegations that this woman [Hagerty] is making and they played no role whatsoever in their decision to separate.” The friend says Tipper Gore is unnerved to find herself back in the glare just after the couple’s June 1 announcement of their separation was supposed to afford her a life outside of the spotlight that comes with her husband’s public policy work. It could get worse before it gets better. On June 30, police reopened an investigation into the allegations, citing “procedural issues” with how the statement by Al Gore’s accuser was handled last year. Gore has denied wrongdoing and has not been charged with a crime. Do you believe Al Gore assaulted Molly Hagerty?

Glenn Beck’s Hilarious Sex Scandal Mock Interview With Al and Tipper Gore

The guys at the Glenn Beck Radio show had some fun at Al and Tipper Gore’s expense Thursday creating a mock interview where the host questioned the separated couple about the former Vice President’s antics with a masseuse in a Portland hotel room back in 2006. The role of the Global Warmingist in Chief was marvelously played by Pat Gray with Stu Burguiere doing an adequate Tipper. The interview began with Beck asking the Nobel Laureate what happened in the hotel Lucia that fateful evening. Al/Pat deliciously responded, “The global warming just became overwhelming as I was receiving massage” (video follows with more highlights and commentary): When Tipper/Stu was introduced, Al/Pat asked, “Do you remember the time when I read you poetry? When I said, ‘I was a child and she was a child in this kingdom by the sea. But we loved with a love that was more than love, I and my Annabel Lee.'” Tipper/Stu responded, “That really brings back memories.” Yes, Al reading Edgar Allan Poe poems to Tipper. Somehow you imagine them being more “The Raven” than “Annabel Lee,” but I digress. Later the couple renewed their claim that “Love Story” was indeed about them despite the convenient truth that Tipper didn’t die of cancer. But the highlight had to be Tipper/Stu’s marvelous haiku, “Get your hands off me. Why do you touch my buttocks? Mother Earth cries rape.” Now THAT’S poetry. Nice job, guys!

An Inconvenient Rumor: Al Gore Accused of Sexual Assault on Massage Therapist

Al Gore has had better months. Ever since the former Vice President of the United States separated from wife Tipper, scandalous allegations have been a-flyin’. The latest? The National Enquirer says Gore was accused of sexually attacking a masseuse in Portland, Oregon, back in 2006, and is named in a police report. The bombshell story will include the secret police documents, a photo of the woman making the stunning charges and will reveal the details, the tabloid says. Alleged proof of the encounter? Pants she saved as evidence. True or not, this report comes just weeks after Al and Tipper Gore split . The Enquirer says she suspected he was involved with “a gorgeous massage therapist.” Well, at least she’s pretty, supposedly. AL GORE SEX ATTACK : A month ago, if you told us we would report two stories about the former V.P. getting his freak on, we probably wouldn’t have believed you . He’s also accused of an affair with Laurie David , ex-wife of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David, and a producer on An Inconvenient Truth . The celebrity gossip tabloid says the 62-year-old Gore was in Portland at the time of the alleged incident – October 24, 2006 – and has the $540 massage bill. No criminal charges were filed against Gore, but Portland police prepared a document marked “Confidential Special Report” – containing explosive allegations. A woman, whose name is being withheld by the publication, reportedly lodged a complaint “unwanted sexual contact” by Al Gore “at a local upscale hotel.” We would say this is pure nonsense, but it’s not exactly loose, vague wording of the OK! or Star variety. Besides, after Rielle Hunter , nothing is surprising.

Did Al Gore Have a Two-Year Affair With Larry David’s Ex-Wife?

Say whaaaaaaaat? According to new reports, a third person contributed to the dissolution of Al and Tipper Gore’s marriage…and that person is Larry David’s ex-wife. Laurie David divorced the Curb Your Enthusiasm creator in 2007 amid rumors that she was stepping out with the caretaker of their Martha’s Vineyard summer home, but now she’s been linked to Gore in a way that goes beyond co-producing his Academy Award-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth .

More Liberal Media Figures Say ‘Bravo to Them’ For 40-Year ‘Success’ As Al and Tipper Gore Separate

There were more examples this week of liberal Gore-friendly media outlets trying to smooth over Al and Tipper Gore’s separation. In their “Conventional Wisdom” box Newsweek gave the Gores a sideways arrow: “Famous public smoochers calling it quits after 40 years. Still, they stayed classy.” Time ran a big picture of the 2000 smooch, and underneath Belinda Luscombe wrote “In a leaked e-mail to friends, Al and wife Tipper — whose lascivious smooch on the 2000 campaign trail is etched in the public memory like an awkward childhood experience — announced they ‘have decided to separate’ after 40 years of wedlock, a duration so robust that most statisticians will still count the Gores’ marriage as a success.” On Monday’s edition of the NPR talk show Tell Me More  with Michel Martin, former Washington Post health editor Abigail Trafford also broke out the “Bravo to them” line about the 40 years:   MICHEL MARTIN: Are you as surprised, as so many of the rest of us are, by this news about Al and Tipper Gore? TRAFFORD: Oh, well, you know, of course. We’re all surprised. We’re always shocked when people – we have a certain image of them and they split up. But you know, you never know what goes on inside a marriage. And I think we should sort of turn this around. You know, 40 years is a great accomplishment. It’s not as though you can take away those 40 years. I say bravo to them. And this is one of the differences between divorce that occurs late in life and early divorces. In late divorces, you can’t erase the past. That’s still a glorious past. MARTIN: You’re saying that the 40 years together is still a victory and an accomplishment of which they should be proud, even if the marriage didn’t go the distance. TRAFFORD: Exactly right. Absolutely. Sally Quinn, the first to blame George W. Bush for the breakup, took the rejoicing to an extreme last Sunday from ther perch at the Washington Post On Faith page in an article titled “The Gift of the Gores.”  Rejoice. Al and Tipper have split up. I know, I know. Separation and divorce are supposed to be bad. Marriage is a sacrament to many, a promise and a moral commitment to God and each other. Certainly everyone I talked to was shocked that the Gores were letting go of that commitment. “How sad” was their initial reaction. But there’s another way to look at it. The Gores have handled their decision to separate with dignity and grace. In doing so, they have given us all a great gift — an opportunity for a deeply important and mature conversation about the changing nature of marriage in a time when women have equal opportunities, when people are getting married later in life and when life expectancy is much longer. Not only should we respect their decision, but in some ways we should rejoice in it. Quinn repeated the Bush line: Her role as wife of the Congressman, the Senator, the Vice President and the presidential candidate was all-consuming. Then, just as she was about to become First Lady, a role that would give her the clout to make a difference, the Supreme Court handed the presidency to George W. Bush. Al won the election but lost the presidency, a devastating turn of events that sent him into a deep depression. Imagine what that must have been like for Tipper. Her entire life had been tied to his career. Suddenly, it was all gone. “Poor Al,” everyone thought. “Is Al OK? How’s Al taking it?” What about Tipper? Not only did she lose her career, but she lost her husband, too, at least emotionally. After he came out of his depression, Al’s new career as Nobel Prize-winning environmental activist kept him traveling the globe. His new interests were not hers. Tipper had been the good wife for 40 years. Now it is time for her. Quinn insisted the Gores made the right decision to marry, and also the right decision to separate, and even though she was writing for the “On Faith” page, she made no reference to that old notion that what God has joined, let no man separate .
