Coon of The Day: Gucci Mane Has Been Arrested…Again

Radric just can’t get right. DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb County Police say Radric Davis, also known as Gucci Mane, was arrested by the DeKalb County Fugitive Squad Friday. Davis was arrested while visiting his probation officer at the Georgia Department of Corrections Probation Office on Sylvan Road in Atlanta, say authorities. Davis is charged with battery, a misdemeanor but as a result of the arrest will be also charged with violating his probation. Davis is on probation for previous unrelated charges. Police say they arrested Davis on a warrant that stated he intentionally caused visible bodily harm to a female by pushing her out of a moving vehicle. Davis is being held in the DeKalb County Jail. Well ladies and gentlemen its been a good run, but Gucci may not be seeing the light of day anytime soon. We’re pretty sure that when the judge takes a look at his rap sheet (not to mention that cotdamn ice cream on his face) that he’s gonna throw the biggest book he can find at him. Burr! Source

SMH: Waka Flocka Joins Gucci Mane In The Rappers-In-Jail-Over-Dumb-Sh*t Rotation

Yup Gucci’s back in jail. And this time he took Wacka Flocka with him. This is another one we probably should have seen coming. Both men were incarcerated Monday for separate infractions — Gucci Mane, aka Radric Davis, in Fulton County, and Waka Flocka, the alias of Juaquin James Malphurs, in Henry County. Gucci Mane was ordered back to jail by Fulton Superior Court Judge John Goger for violating terms of his probation — the same offense that led to his incarceration for several months last winter. Records show he has been in the Fulton County Jail at least five times since 2005 on drug, aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. Waka Flocka, who turned himself in Monday, is being held on charges including drug and weapons possession as well as criminal street gang activity and a probation violation, according to jail records. Henry County police arrested two people at Waka Flocka’s home for possession of a minor amount of marijuana three weeks ago. The 24-year-old rapper was not home at the time — but Gucci Mane was. He was handcuffed and then freed, according to reports, the second time in as many months that he was arrested but not charged. Gucci Mane was briefly jailed in early November after an off-duty police officer reported seeing a white Hummer being driven recklessly on Northside Drive. Dispatched officers saw the Hummer outside an auto body shop where the rapper was arguing with another man. Officers had to use pepper spray to subdue Gucci Mane, who was jailed overnight. But charges were dropped for “want of prosecution.” It appears doubtful Gucci Mane will be so lucky this time around. Goger reportedly told the rapper’s attorneys Monday that prison time is inevitable. He’s scheduled for a hearing Jan. 24. Waka Flocka has kept pace with his mentor, returning to jail for the second time in less than a year. He was arrested in Houston County last March for leaving Georgia for a concert, which violated his probation from a 2006 incident. At the time he pleaded guilty to possession of a sawed-off shotgun and received four years probation, according to the Houston County Superior Court Clerk’s office. From what TMZ reports, the charges Wacka is facing probably mean he won’t be back on the streets any time soon either. The Henry County Sheriff’s Department tells TMZ … Waka was booked for multiple charges including: – Possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce – Possession of firearm by convicted felon – Possession of hydrocodone – Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony – Violation of probation for driving on a suspended license – Violating Georgia’s “Criminal Street Gang and Terror Prevention Act” The rapper’s mother tells TMZ, Waka surrendered on his own this afternoon “because he wanted to do the right thing and didn’t want to run.” As we first reported, cops hit Waka’s home on December 16 — and after confiscating all sorts of illegal items, issued an arrest warrant for Waka … who wasn’t home at the time. Waka’s being held on $31,950 bond — and a hearing is set for tomorrow. We have just three questions: 1) Why didn’t Waka Flocka make bond? Doesn’t dude walk around with $32k worth of jewelry on on any given day? 2) When you have a certain amount of money, shouldn’t “probation violation be the LAST thing you get popped for? And last, but certainly not least: when is Dr. Drew going to make a Celebrity Halfway House For Retarded Rappers? Source 1

Waka Flocka Flame Denies Beef With Gucci Mane

Rapper acknowledges that he and the ‘Lemonade’ MC don’t speak. By Mawuse Ziegbe Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane Photo: Getty Images It appears the stress of the hip-hop game has gotten to Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame. Hip-hop fans have been buzzing about the duo after Flocka told Vibe magazine that the MCs “don’t talk anymore,” since after Gucci ditched Flocka’s mom as his manager. Flocka recently addressed the rumors surrounding their relationship and said that while things are different, he doesn’t harbor any bad feelings for Gucci. “I don’t think it’s no split. We couldn’t meet each other on a business level … or a personal level. Whatever the level is, I don’t know. I’m going this way and [he’s] going that way and we both killin’ these folk. That’s just what it is,” Flocka told DJ Drama on Atlanta’s Hot 107.9. The rapper attributed their lack of interaction to his schedule and said, “I’m super busy,” but maintained that “everything’s great.” Although their relationship appears strained, both rappers have scored major success. Last year was a banner year for Gucci who scored a slew of high-profile collabos with the likes of Usher and Mariah Carey. Although the MC spent part of the year in jail, his album, The State vs. Radric Davis, yielded hits like “Lemonade” and “Spotlight.” Flocka, who began his hip-hop ascent as a member of Gucci’s So Icey team, hit big with the rowdy club anthem, “O Let’s Do It,” which has earned him a “Hottest Breakthrough MC” nomination. Flocka insisted that everything is cool between him and his former mentor. “Ain’t no drama,” Flocka said. The rapper also insisted that he would never take things to another level and bring violence into the situation. “Don’t ever think it’s just like, ‘Ey, let’s get [him],’ ” Flocka said. “Don’t ever think I’m [going] to ride on him with another person. Let’s make that super clear.” What do you think of Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane not speaking anymore? Do you want to see them work together again? Let us know in the comments below! Gucci Mane Says Warm Post-Prison Reception ‘Strengthens’ Him

‘I feel like I got a whole new beginning,’ the rapper tells Atlanta DJ Frank Ski morning after his release. By Shaheem Reid Gucci Mane Photo: Warner Bros. The “Welcome Home Gucci Mane” campaign is in full swing. On Wednesday night, Gucci’s good friends Shawty Lo and DJ Holiday were waiting at the Fulton County Jail to greet him upon his release. On Wednesday night, a host of other Gucci supporters gathered at the Georgian Terrace hotel in Atlanta for a dinner honoring the ATL street heavyweight. Monica, the Diplomats’ Chubbie Baby, Big Boi, Wale, Kandi Burruss, Jazze Pha, DJ Drama and L.A.D., Sean Garrett, Waka Flocka Flame and, of course, Lo and Holiday all came out to show love. Gucci LaFlare was a guest on the DJ Frank Ski V103 morning show on Thursday (May 13), where he reflected on the previous night’s festivities. “It makes me feel good. It strengthens me even more,” the Atlanta rapper said. While on-air, Gucci also revealed that his next album, The State vs. Radric Davis: The Appeal, is due out at the end of August. He told listeners that he would want to work with Andre 3000 and Jamie Foxx on this follow-up to his December ’09 project. When asked how jarring it was for him to go to prison last year, right before the release of The State vs. Radric Davis — an album that had the potential to be his superstar-making effort — Gucci said knowing some months earlier that he was going in made it somewhat easier. “It was little behind the scenes things that everybody didn’t know,” Gucci explained to Ski. “They had a warrant for my arrest about four or five months before I even went in. So I was already dealing with it. I was trying to do all I could in case I did go to jail, so I could keep it going. “I feel like I got a whole new beginning, like my career just started again,” he added.
