Caitlyn Jenner has a message for her ace Donald Trump now that he’s put a halt to transgender students going into the restrooms that match their chosen gender identity. Cait calls the new deal “a disaster” since Trump promised to protect to LGBTQ community…and apparently, she believed him despite how incongruous that is with his stance on just about everything else as far as equal rights go. Caitlyn can more than likely hang it up as far as that phone call goes. But hey, with how deep into ratings and being “well-liked” this guys Trump is…maybe he actually will make the phone call and let us know how it went. It said Mr Hyon had fallen asleep during an event attended by Kim Jong-un and had not carried out instructions. South Korea said a senior military officer was also killed. The news comes weeks after the reported execution of 15 senior officials. Via NBC News: Tea Party favorite Michele Bachmann, who last year ran for the Republican presidential nomination, announced on Wednesday that she will stand down from her seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. In a video posted on her website and on YouTube, the stressed that her decision to stand down from her Minnesota seat was not due to any concern she would be defeated at the next election in 2014 or the inquiries into activities of her former presidential campaign staff. And she said she would continue to fight for the policies she believes in and that her future was “limitless and my passion for America will remain.” “There is no future option or opportunity … that I wouldn’t be giving serious consideration if it can help save and protect our great nation,” she said. Oregon’s medical marijuana law has become one of the hottest election issues in Oregon’s attorney general race. Sixteen states and the District of Columbia now have medical marijuana laws. In just Oregon and Washington there are nearly 100,000 medical marijuana patients. Now this once fringe culture has taken another step towards the mainstream – growers and grower cooperatives can now buy insurance policies to protect their crops and marijuana inventories against losses. Insurance agent Dan DeChynne is one of the first to sell the pot policies in Oregon and Southwest Washington. “It covers every kind of possible case; fire, rain, or wind, theft, even raids,” he told KATU On Your Side Investigator Thom Jensen. We met DeChynne outside one of the new store fronts where patients buy medical marijuana insurance in Kalama, Wash. The policy at Releaf Medical Marijuana growers cooperative covers the brick and mortar, but it also protects the pot against losses from bugs, theft, fire and yes, even raids by local or state police. As he pushed a cart loaded with some of Releaf’s potent pain killer and sleep disorder pot called AK-47, manager Nate Hewitt told KATU the insurance protects patients more than anyone. “It’s priceless for me because of the value it is to the patients,” he said. Without the insurance, Hewitt said there are just too many variables that can ruin a marijuana crop or leave then vulnerable to raids and thefts. He said the insurance policies will help restore inventories more quickly after a loss so he can start delivering the medicine to patients. So how popular IS this new Indica insurance??? Michael Aberle of Statewide Insurance in Sacramento said his company underwrites between 3,500 to 4,000 marijuana policies right now. He said the industry cannot protect clients against federal raids because marijuana is still considered a controlled substance at the federal level. WASHINGTON (AP) – Black members of the tea party movement on Wednesday rejected charges that the group’s activists are racist, saying they oppose President Barack Obama because of his policies not his skin color. The members gathered at a Washington news conference in the wake of allegations about its rank and file, heightened by the recent split with a Tea Party Express leader who had posted a letter on his blog written from “Colored People” to Abraham Lincoln. The post suggested that black people would choose slavery over having to do real work. The black members said the racism that has been attributed to the tea party movement came from outsiders who infiltrated the groups to discredit their work and it should be rejected. “These people do not oppose Barack Obama because of his skin color. They oppose him because of his policies,” said Lloyd Marcus, a spokesman for the group. The NAACP last month approved a resolution condemning racism within the tea party movement and called on activists to “repudiate the racist element and activities” within the political movement. At the news conference, several members assailed Obama and the Democrats, often in harsh terms. “Democrats have re-enslaved America,” said Kevin Jackson, president of the Black Conservative Coalition. He said tea party activists, if successful, would reduce the size of government and set in motion another Emancipation Proclamation, the document that President Abraham Lincoln signed that effectively ended slavery. “This time, even the white folks get freed,” said Jackson, who accused Obama of viewing fellow blacks as “mongrels.” Democratic National Committee spokesman Hari Sevugan declined to respond to the tea party leaders’ criticism. And while sober discussion of immigration, workers’ rights and economic policy has thus far trumped talk of pornography and pole dancing, the misfits of the Australian Sex Party (ASP) are campaigning voraciously across the country in the lead-up to the Aug. 21 general elections. With their mandate of “keeping the government out of our bedrooms,” ASP’s policies generally revolve around, you guessed it, sex. The Associated Press gave voice to a Repuiblican Congressman today to bemoan what he sees as “poisonous ‘demagoguery'” from the usual suspects, including, by the AP’s own account, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. Rep. Bob Inglis, R-S.C., who lost in a primary for the GOP nomination last month, went so far as to claim that heated political rhetoric is “dividing the country into partisan camps that really look a lot like Shia and Sunni.” The AP did not feel the need to qualify this absurd statement (and it is absurd, given that a few years ago Sunni and Shia tribes in Iraq were “systematically trying to assassinate moderates”). And while the AP now feels the need to unquestionably parrot claims that conservatives are dividing the nation into potentially murderous political sects, just last year it ran an article headlined “Obama spokesman says sharp tone is justified.” By the AP’s unquestioning accounts, heated conservative rhetoric is dangerous, but heated liberal rhetoric is necceary for the health of the nation. Wrote the AP in Febrauary of last year: President Barack Obama’s spokesman is defending the sharper tone Obama is taking to push his economic stimulus plan through Congress. Obama sharpened his rhetoric while addressing House Democrats in Virginia on Thursday. He appeared to be sending a message to Republicans as he warned against turning back to the policies of the last eight years and insisted that voters chose a new course in November. Spokesman Robert Gibbs says Obama is simply “fighting on behalf of” the 3.6 million Americans who’ve lost jobs since the start of the recession. Contrast that tone — understanding of, even laudatory towards the President’s claims — with the mood of its piece on Inglis: While not naming names, 12-year incumbent Rep. Bob Inglis suggested in interviews with The Associated Press that tea party favorites such as former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and right-wing talk show hosts like Glenn Beck are the culprits… Inglis said voters eventually will discover that you’re “preying on their fears” and turn away… Inglis said the rhetoric also distracts from the real problems that politicians should be trying to resolve, such as budget deficits and energy security. “It’s a real concern, because I think what we’re doing is dividing the country into partisan camps that really look a lot like Shia and Sunni,” he said, referring to the two predominant Islamic denominations that have feuded for centuries. “It’s very difficult to come together to find solutions.” So conservatives using harsh language is “preying” on the fears of Americans, distracts from the issues, and has the potential to turn political foes into something resembling warring religious clans. Meanwhile, President Obama’s use of harsh language is “fighting on behalf” of the unemployed and channeling the will of the public and anyone who says otherwise is trying to “[turn] back to the policies of the” Bush administration.
